NORAD: "Zulu X-Ray 6. Signs in your sector of some 100 bogeys, please advise."

Vandenberg AFB: "Negatory, Station. Scope is clear. I dunno what to tell ya. Solar interference? Heavy sunspot activity today."

NORAD: "Sierra Delta, uh... we may have a minor ACS fault here. Do you have anything on your scope?"

Air Traffic Controller: "They're everywhere!"

Air Traffic Controller: "I'm lookin' at asteroids comin' down all up and down the coast! People are saying that aliens are comin' out of the water! What the hell's going on?"

NORAD: "All stations, be advised - satellite surveillance has been disabled. SOSUS and PAVE PAWS arrays are inoperative at this time."

USS The Sullivans: "Overlord, Overlord, this is The Sullivans Actual. Be advised: An incoming rock just hit the Halsey. No boats in the water, no survivors anticipated, over."

Top Cat (USMC command, California): "All stations this NET, all stations this NET, stand by for SITREP. Enemy elements have advanced beyond the beach, and further forces are still breaching out of the ocean. Enemy infantry, uhh, numbering in the thousands, no final estimate. We have unknown numbers of civvies cut off behind the enemy's front line, break. Rules of Engagement have been modified: use of Close Air Support within civilian zones is now approved. The enemy appears to have no air cover at this time. CAS is on call; let it rain, Marines. Top Cat out."

Kilo 2-3: "2-1, 2-3! We have heavy contact east of I-5 LA! Multiple infantry, several, hell, I don't know what the damn thing is! Some sort of mobile gun platform, it- Jesus! It just slagged one of Romeo's tanks! We are way out of our depth here, Lieutenant!"
