Hayate was panting heavily; he was one knee in a fighting attire as he looked at the destruction around him. He saw four of his friends, two of them laying down in the street, one was unconscious near a wall and one more was hanging on the roof of a car. They were all unconscious and dying, he tried to move but for some reason his body couldn't. He didn't understand why.

He then heard footsteps coming from behind him. Turning his head, he focused his gaze on who was coming towards him… and who was responsible for the destruction. As he narrowed his gaze in front of him, he couldn't see anything other than a shadow figure making their way towards him.

As they were coming… he kept hearing his voice being called out.

…..

Hayate!

Before he could see the person, the dream suddenly ended bringing him back to the real world.

"HAYATE!"

The said boy immediately sprung up with a gasp and wide eyes and a hand behind his back as if he was reaching for something, he looked around the room in a panic state and he could see the other students staring at him with concern gazes. As he looked around, he realized that he was back in the real world and slowly calmed down while wiping the sweat of his forehead.

"Hayate." He looked up at his name being called by his teacher who had a worried look on her face. "Are you okay?"

"I'm.. I'm fine teach, I just didn't really get a good amount of sleep. Sorry for slacking off in class, I'll take whatever punishment you have." Hayate apologized while accepting whatever punishment his teacher had in store for him. From a different section of the class, Homura stared at Hayate with worried eyes as she knew that something had happened to him.

His teacher was about to speak again only for the bell to rang signaling that it was the end of class and the start of first break.

"Okay, everyone that's lunch. Make sure to finish reading the rest of your chapter then have your summaries finish over the weekend." The red-haired teacher announced to her class before turning her head back to Hayate. "Hayate, a word please."

The said boy just stayed in his seat while staring at his notebook as the other students started leaving the classroom.

"That includes you too Homura."

"Like Hell it is." The said girl thought to herself before speaking. "Sorry teach but that's my brother and if there's something wrong with him then I need to know." Homura stated as she walked over to them and sat in the empty seat next to Hayate.

"Alright then, Hayate is there something you wish to tell me?" The teacher asked as she stared at the boy in front of her.

"It's nothing sensei, like I said I'll take any punishment for disrupting class." Hayate denied as his teacher gave him a glare.

"If it wasn't a concern, then why did you look at me like i was an enemy and immediately reached for a weapon?" She asked causing him to groan as his sister expression changed from calm to alarm.

"Wait, what!?" Homura asked in concern. "What do you mean he was reaching for his weapon?"

Hayate was about to deny any problem he had but was stopped by the glare from his sister and teacher.

"Kushina sensei, I'm fine. My reaction has nothing to do with what I'm experiencing right now, just that I have been really tired recently." Hayate said while rubbing his eyes with his fist.

His sensei Kushina, was a fair-skinned and slender woman with violet eyes and long straight red hair that reached her thighs with shoulder-length strands. She was wearing a high collared sleeveless blouse under a long loose fitting green dress and regular sandals.

She sighed under her breath at how stubborn her student was being right now, it reminded her of her daughter and they were quite similar in some ways but now was not the time for it.

"Hayate, you're pale and you have dark circles under your eyes which tells me you haven't been getting sleep." Kushina noticed and then turned to Homura. "Has he been doing this often?"

"Now that I think about it, he has been sleeping a lot for the past week." Homura noted as she thought about the entire week that she's observed her brother. "He's been doing that, he's been eating a lot less and he's been zoning in and out a couple times."

"Thanks Homura." Hayate muttered.

"Hayate, as your sensei I'm ordering you to rest for the next two days. That means no missions, no training, no nothing." Kushina ordered.

"What?" Hayate shouted as he was now wide awake. "Come on, just because I'm a little out of it won't stop me from fighting."

"No but it will cause you to hinder yourself and your teammates during a mission, and they will have an extra responsibility in taking care of you. Neglecting your own health will not help anyone in the future, it might end up with them getting killed instead." Kushina stated coldly causing Hayate to flinch at her tone.

He knew that she was right, he knew that he needed rest but he hated sitting back. Not because he didn't think his teammates couldn't handle it, it was more like he didn't want to be a hindrance to them.

His fists were shaking as he was trying to keep himself from saying anything he might regret. Homura noticed him shaking and wanted to comfort him but she knew that he needed to hear this.

"Hayate," Kushina started with a soft tone causing the boy to look up at her. "While I like it that you are taking our lessons seriously, it isn't going to help anyone if you ignore your own health especially if you haven't been eating." Kushina scolded in a motherly tone. "It's not a good idea to deal with problems on your own, it could hurt someone you care about in the long run. It's okay to ask for help."

Her tone towards Hayate made him feel relaxed and guilty, he forgot sometimes that despite being a ninja Kushina is still a mother.

"Yes ma'am." He relented.

"Good." She sighed in relief. "Now go and get some food, I'll extend your homework to Tuesday, but it better be done, same with you Homura." She said as both teens nodded their heads. They then left the class and as soon as they were out of sight, Kushina immediately grabbed the phone holding it up to her ear before dialing a number and waited for the line to pick up, two rings later she got a response.

"Hey, it's me. I need you to do something for me."

The siblings were quietly on the school rooftop waiting for their friends to come meet them, no one really came to the rooftop. They both were sitting on a picnic table as Hayate had his head in his arms as Homura had a hand on her cheek as she just watched the boy beside her.

She knew something was off this morning when they were heading to school. She knew the second they raced to school. While she didn't like to admit it, her brother was faster than her when it came to speed and stealth.

'Maybe I should give him a better pillow.' Homura thought as she looked at the sleeping boy's face. Seeing his expression, showing slight discomfort and trying to shift himself into a more comfortable position but was failing. She slowly reached out towards him and was about to move his head but stopped immediately as the door to the roof opened.

"We're here!" Someone announced in a cheerful tone. Looking over she saw 3 girls staring at her. The first girl had fair skin with short dark brown hair tied into a ponytail with a white ribbon she was wearing a white sailor fuku with a blue skirt and long knee socks with brown loafers, she also had a red scarf around her neck. This was Asuka Hanzo.

The next girl was a little taller than her, she had pale skin with light blue eyes, medium-dark grey hair and an average complexion. Her hair accessory is a white ribbon tie with blue stripes on the ends. Her uniform was a grey vest with a long sleeve blouse underneath, grey skirt with matching leggings and grey loafers. This was Yumi Yuka.

The last one was the same height as Yumi. She had a lightly tanned complexion but not as much as Homura, she has short somewhat scruffy hair yet clean white hair pixie cut style. Her uniform was a black vest with a long sleeve blouse underneath, black skirt showing her toned legs and brown loafers. This was Miyabi Eiji.

"Hi, Homura-chan!" Asuka waved and greeted her friend. "I've brought lunch!"

"Nice to see you too, Asuka! Yumi!" Homura greeted and then turned her head to Miyabi and smirked. "Tomboy."

Miyabi let out a low growl and was about to retort till Yumi held her hand up.

"Calm down, no need for any witty bantering to interrupt our peaceful lunch." Yumi said and also pointed at Hayate. "And not to wake up our friend."

Miyabi and Asuka finally noticed the sleeping boy before the latter instantly came right beside him and gazed at his face, sleeping softly as she gently smiled and poked his cheek,

"He's looks so adorable when he sleeps." Asuka commented.

"I bet once he smells the food he'll wake up and eat it all." Miyabi stated as Homura chuckled.

"He might, but then again that's expected since he's been up for the entire week now." She said with a frown earning concerned looks from the others. "He hasn't been eating much, zoning in and out like he's in a trance and on top of that he's been having nightmares as well. It's gotten to the point where he's neglecting himself."

"It must be really bad, if he's not sleeping that well." Asuka commented with a frown.

"Kushina sensei ordered him to not do anything until he's gotten the proper rest." Homura explained.

"Understandable." Yumi said before she went ahead and Miyabi sat next to Hayate, the latter gently picking the boy's head and then laying him on her lap.

"Miyabi-chan!?" Asuka called out in a blush as Homura eye twitch a bit.

"Hmm, something wrong?"

"Y-you have… well…" Asuka tried to speak but Homura beat her to it.

"You're not embarrassed that you have a boy on your lap, you know a boy that you would get annoyed for."

"Don't be mistaken. I don't have a problem with boys, I just hate how they everyone sees me as one due to my appearance. He on the other hand is nor part of that category." Miyabi stated.

'He's the first boy that treated me like normal and gave me a smile ever since I lost my mom.' She thought inwardly while showing a serious demeanor on the outside.

"Do you have a problem with that, Homura?" Miyabi smirked as the said girl scoffed and looked away.

"No I don't, as long as he's resting I don't care for what you do." Homura argued but Asuka and Yumi could see her aura slowly surrounding her.

"Okay!" Asuka interrupted. "Time for lunch." She said as she went into her bag and brought out four bento boxes. "Eat up everyone." She said while passing the other bentos. She then grabbed out a container that had gyoza and dumplings inside.

"Is that for everyone?"

"Yep, I got two containers. One for us and the other for Hayate-chan." Asuka said as she gazed at Miyabi. "Though, I wonder if I should give it to him later."

"No, go ahead and wake him up." Homura instructed as she wanted her brother to eat. Miyabi nodded her head and looked down at her lap. She then gently tapped the boy on his cheek causing him to stir. Hayate groaned as he let out a small yawn and woke up, he realized that he wasn't on the hard surface on the table but on something soft and firm. He looked up and the first thing he saw was a pair of mounds shadowing over him, then a face entered his view and he was met with yellow eyes.

"Rise and shine." Miyabi greeted as the boy realized who was speaking to him.

"Miyabi." Hayate greeted as a he slowly got up from his comfortable pillow and looking up he saw Homura, Asuka and Yumi as well. "Asuka and Yumi, is it lunch already?"

"Hai, Hayate-chan. I got you something to eat." Asuka said as she held out the container towards him as his eyes lit up in shock as he opened it and the smell entered his nose.

"Is this… dumplings and gyoza?"

"Mhm." Asuka nodded her head as she watched him grabbed two pieces and instantly put them in his mouth. His eyes lit up in awe and joy.

"It's delicious. Thank you for the meal, Asuka." He thanked with a big smile causing the red-scarf girl to blush at his comment.

"Oh, it was nothing." She stuttered while looking away with a smile.

"No it wasn't, you went out of your way to make something like this for me, I couldn't be more grateful for it." He said before he using his chopsticks and took a piece before holding it out to her. "Here."

His action earned looks of shock from the other girls while Asuka cheeks turned completely red.

"Hayate-chan!"

"Well, you did make these after all and I would feel bad if you didn't have at least one so…" He said nervously as Asuka's face became a bright red tomato as she slowly nodded her head. She was about to grab it with her own but then decided to make a bold decision.

"Um… Hayate-chan…" She called as he tilted his head at her. "If you don't mind… could you… feed it to me…?" She asked as Homura, Miyabi and Yumi let inward gasp as her bold decision as the boy gently smiled at her.

"Um… sure if that's what you want." He answered as she inwardly screamed in joy. Asuka opened her mouth as he fed her the gyoza. Biting down on it and moaned in delight, not at the fact that it was good but at the fact that her crush ahd just fed her.

'He fed me. Hayate-kun actually fed me.' Asuka squealed in her head. As she was in daydream, the other three girls stared at her in jealousy that their crush had fed her.

'Asuka, dear!'

'I don't have a problem with this! No I don't…. then why am I so jealous!?'

'Asuka.'

All three girls were emitting auras of fire, ice and darkness bringing Asuka out of her daydream and she realized that all three of them were jealous and that their intent was aimed at her. She then quickly hid behind Hayate who was kind of shocked at the aura and wondered why they were angry.

He then looked down at the food and immediately realized what was wrong. He then picked his chopsticks once more and grabbed another piece and held it in front of Miyabi.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"What does it look like, I'm feeding you." Hayate said like it was casual thing to say. His words caused Miyabi to lose her aura and now it was her turn to blush.

"W-w-what!?" She asked in shock. "B-but that it's not.. mph!" Miyabi attempted to speak but was stopped when he inserted the gyoza into her mouth causing her to blush at his action. Hayate then turned to Yumi and Homura who had their mouths opened in shock which allowed him to do the same thing to them.

All three of them lost their auras of jealousy and were now sitting with blushes on their cheeks as they chewed the gyoza.

'Hayate… you don't even know what you're doing to me right now! If you keep doing this, I… I might just take you for myself…' Miyabi thought as she started thinking of fantasies with the said boy.

'Hayate, so bold!' Yumi was frozen in shock as she had her hands on her cheeks as she was trying to cool herself.

'Ww-why am I so embarrassed by this!? He's my brother and… why do I feel like this!?' Homura thought as she tried to make sense of her feelings.

As all of three of them were in having a crisis, Hayate stared at them with a confused look on his face.

"Did I do something wrong?" He asked while Asuka had a pout on her face. She was slightly mad that Hayate had fed the other three but she was glad that he did to her first. Just as they were about to continue talking, the bell rung taking all of them out of their thoughts and bringing back to reality.

After cleaning their mess, all five teens left the rooftop and headed for their respective classes. As they were leaving the rooftop, they were unaware that someone was watching them. All that could be seen was a cloak and the face of the figure who had a metal eye patch on their right eye.

"So that's him, the one with that cursed sword." They spoke in a low tone as they stared at their target. Behind the cloaked figure were four other humans all in different types of clothing.

"What do you wish us to do?"

"I will deal with the boy. Separate the four girls and keep them from reaching us." The leader instructed as the four others agreed in silence.

"And the teachers?"

"She will stall them. You have your orders, now go." The cloaked figure instructed as the four others disappeared into the shadows off to where they were needed. The cloaked figure removed continued staring at the boy as the wind blew across their face, slightly revealing their face showing one eye being covered by a metal patch while another was revealed to be a ruby red pupil.

"I wonder, if found my new playmate." The girl stated as she smiled at the thought of having the boy as a playmate. "We shall see what you're capable of Hayate."

She said before disappearing into the shadows.

Author's Note: I know that some of the girls don't have last names since Asuka was the only one, so I tried to put in last names for the other four. Homura's personality may be a little different but that's because she had someone help her instead of being alone and Yumi and Miyabi will also be slightly different but not that far. You already know that one of the teachers is Kushina and you can expect a few others in this story with her.

Reminder, that this is with crossover characters that will be explained every time a new chapter is released. Mostly where they are from and a small bio of who they are.
