Two men were sitting at a table with a deck of cards in the middle and each man holding seven cards each. One of the men grabbed the top card and flipped it over; it was a 3 of spades.
"What are we playing again?" The older man asked.
"Gin Rummy." The younger man said.
"Hm." The older man said looking at his deck, he didn't have anything close to a match so he drew a card.
The younger man also drew a card and put down a 456 of hearts then discarded it.
The older man put down a 7 of hearts playing on it.
The older man drew from the cards and got an ace. He only needed one more to get a meld.
The younger man who only had three cards left drew again and had another meld of jack, queen, and king.
"Hey." The older man said. "How do you keep getting matches?"
"Luck of the cards." The younger man said. "You know I didn't cheat, you watched me shuffle."
"Hm." The older man said this next draw would be his only chance to win; he needed an ace.
The older man was about to draw when the door to the cabin swung open with almost enough force to break it down.
The older man jumped up out of his seat.
"We're back!" A little boy yelled and ran at the older man.
"Hey! You didn't take off your shoes!" A female voice by the door yelled at the boy. "Lando control your child!"
"He's your child too…" Lando mumbled.
"What did you just say to me?" The female said.
"You know it's the craziest thing but I forgot," Lando said.
"You better have." The female said.
"Xander," Lando said.
"Yeah?" Xander asked, hugging the older man.
"You're way too hyper," Lando said. "Calm down."
"Sorry…I was excited to see Grandpa." Xander said.
"Hey, brat," Levi said. "We were in a game and you made me lose."
"I'm sorry grandpa…" Xander said.
"It's alright," Levi said. "Go take your shoes off.'
"Ok!" Xander said and ran over to the door.
"Evalynn," Lando said. "Where is Izabella?"
"Probably outside," Evalynn said. "Doing who knows what."
Lando walked outside and took a look around, there was a barren land. It was harvest season and they just finished. Lando saw a little girl kneeling looking at something on the ground.
Izabella and Xander were completely different people, Xander was like his mom loud and excited with blonde hair. Izabella was more like her dad, calm and relaxed with dark hair.
"Whatcha you doing Izzy?" Lando asked, kneeling next to her.
"I found a baby ground squirrel," Izabella said. "He was just laying there so I stopped and looked at it."
"Is it alive?" Lando asked.
"Yeah, I felt it move when I touched it," Izabella said.
"Well you're usually not allowed to touch baby animals because their parents might abandon it but it's too late for that," Lando said.
"Animals really do that?" Izabella asked.
"Yep," Lando said.
"That's kinda mean," Izabella said.
"I guess it is," Lando said.
"At least you won't abandon me if I get injured," Izabella said.
"Seven-year-olds really know how to tug at your heartstrings." Lando thought.
"I don't plan on it," Lando said and picked up the ground squirrel. "Let's take it inside."
"Hand," Izabella said as they were walking back.
Lando held his daughter's hand while he had the baby ground squirrel in his hand.
"Found her," Lando said as he opened the door to the cabin.
"Izabella you can't run off like that," Evalynn said as she was putting food away.
"Sorry Mom," Izabella said.
"Izzy found us a new pet at least," Lando said.
"Pet?!" Xander said excitedly
"Huh?!" Evalynn said.
"Temporary," Lando said. "She found a baby ground squirrel and it was lying out there."
"Well, we can nurse it back to health…" Evalynn said.
"Can I see?" Xander asked.
Lando gave the baby ground squirrel to Xander.
"Where did it come from?" Xander asked.
"The dirt," Lando said.
"How old is it?" Xander asked.
"I don't really know," Lando said.
"Then how old is his house?" Xander asked.
"The dirt?" Lando asked, confused.
"Yeah," Xander said.
"The dirt has been around for thousands of years," Lando said. "So about the same age as your grandpa."
"Hey!" Levi said. "I'm only 41!"
"Ancient." Lando said.
"This ancient man is about to kick your ass," Levi said.
"Language around the kids!" Evalynn ordered.
"Anyways," Lando said. "What's going on inside Wall Rose?"
"Same old," Evalynn said. "But the kids had fun."
"It was awesome!" Xander said. "The Military Police had this parade with guns and stuff!"
"That does seem pretty cool," Lando admitted.
"I got a couple of new books," Izabella said.
"Nice," Lando said.
"Lando go take the kids outside while I make dinner," Evalynn said.
"Let's go!" Xander said as put the baby ground squirrel on a chair and put a blanket on it.
Izabella shrugged her shoulders.
Lando, Levi, Izabella, and Xander went outside
Izabella read her new book on the porch while Levi Lando and Xander played with a baseball and after about 30 minutes dinner was ready.
"Get in here!" Evalynn yelled at everyone. "Dinner is ready."
The four of them got back inside the house and started to eat their food.
"Hey, mom," Xander asked. "How did you and dad meet?"
"Jeez, Xander," Evalynn said. "Why?"
"Just curious," Xander said.
"I wanna know too," Izabella said.
"Well…" Evalynn said. "I was in Wall Maria where I saw somebody sitting at one of the outside tables at a restaurant writing something in his notebook. I thought he looked interesting so I went over and talked to him. But your dad was so shy he only spoke one word."
"What do you mean one word?" Izabella asked.
"Hey, it would be really cool if you stopped talking," Lando said to Evalynn.
"It went like this," Evalynn said, ignoring her husband. "How are you? Good. What are you doing? Drawing. What are you drawing? The street. Why? I like it."
"You were that bad…?" Levi asked.
"Yeah…" Lando said.
"You better count your lucky stars every night that any woman would've wanted to talk to you," Levi said.
"Thanks for believing in my quest for love, Dad. " Lando said.
"Well it helped that he was good-looking," Evalynn said. "But anyway I saw your dad a week later in a military uniform talking to some soldiers outside a house."
After the war with Marley Eldia needed somebody to organize the new military and Lando got charged with the military police so he built them up with new laws and regulations.
"Is that why Dad's name means so much wherever we go?" Izabella asked.
"Yeah, your dad was a soldier," Evalynn said. "But we are getting off track. After he was done talking with the soldiers I talked to him again and he remembered me so I asked for his name."
"Lando Ackerman!" Xander said.
"Yep!" Evalynn said.
"Xander Ackerman, Izabella Ackerman, Levi Ackerman, Lando Ackerman, Evalynn Ackerman," Xander said.
"Did you just learn our name?" Levi jokes.
"No, I always knew it!" Xander said.
"Yeah, I'm Momma Ackerman," Evalynn said with a smile. "He said his name was Lando Ackerman and I didn't know he was that Lando Ackerman and I don't really know what happened but I liked him. And when you like someone you want to be around them so I kinda was around wherever he was and he confronted me about it. He asked me 'Why do you follow me around?' and I decided not to waste time. 'Wanna go on a date?' I asked and he said 'What?' and I said, 'Meet me at Cobinarios at 6 p.m. tomorrow.' and he showed up because he probably didn't want to be rude and leave me sitting alone all night."
"And?" Xander asked.
"That's it it just kinda happened after a while, we went out on a few more dates and I was the one who asked him to be my boyfriend because I knew he would never do it," Evalynn said.
"Ok, time for bed guys," Lando said to his kids.
"But Mom is telling a story!" Both the kids whine.
"And Dad is about to tell you a super cool story from the war if you guys go get ready for bed," Lando said.
"Ok!" Xander said and ran to the bathroom.
Izabella followed Xander.
"I enjoyed that story," Levi said. "It was very embarrassing for you."
"Bet you were loving every minute of it," Lando said.
Evalynn started laughing, she loved how her family was.
"What's so funny?" Lando asked.
"You were very embarrassed," Evalynn said.
"Well I never told them much about how I was a soldier or about how their grandpa is humanity's strongest soldier," Lando said.
"Grandpa, what?" Izabella asked.
"Why are you here? Go away." Lando said.
"Xander is in the bathroom and I got bored," Izabella said.
"Hey, Dad, can you go get them to their room?" Lando asked.
"Ok," Levi said. "Come on Izabella."
"Ok, grandpa," Izabella said and followed him.
Xander just came out of the bathroom when Levi and Izabella returned and Izabella got ready for bed and Levi got them in their beds.
"Thanks, Dad," Lando said walking into the room.
"No problem," Levi said. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight Grandpa love you!" Xander said.
"Night Grandpa love you too," Izabella said.
"Love you both," Levi said and walked to his room.
"Ok, so time for the story," Lando said. "I was a part of the Scout when they retook Wall Maria."
Lando told the kids about how Eren sealed the gates. And about Reiner and Berthold. About how Erwin led his troops in a charge that killed him. And about how Lando and Levi killed the Beast Titan.
"That was so cool…" Xander said tired.
"You were that good?" Izabella asked.
"Yes, I was," Lando said. "But it's time for bed."
"Ok…" Xander said.
"Goodnight," Lando said.
"Goodnight Dad, I love you." Izabella and Xander said.
"Love you, Xander. Love you, Izzy." Lando said and shut the door to their room.
Lando walked across the hall to his and Evalynn's room where Evalynn was sitting reading a book with a candle lit.
"What story did you tell them?" Evalynn asked.
"The one about Wall Maria," Lando said.
"I always loved that one," Evalynn said.
"It's one of the better ones," Lando said, crawling into bed. "But I'm tired. Can you please put out the candle?"
Evalynn closed her book and put out the candle.
The house was as quiet as a mouse and everyone inside went to sleep peacefully.

Well, it's the end. I'm sad to see the story ending but it had to happen at some point. This was the first fanfiction I ever wrote and I appreciate everyone who read it and made it to the end. Even if you skipped the entire story to read this part I'm thankful you even read a chapter of my story. Now this is the end of Levi's Son but it's not the end of me writing. I will make two new stories: a My Hero Academia fanfic and a Naruto fanfic. I wrote the Naruto fanfic months ago but only a few chapters and I will write the My Hero one sometime in the future.
