Dino King Resurrection.

It is the age of extinction. The end of the world has come. White Dino has waited one hundred million years for his time to be born. Time and again I stand at these crossroads, either way I commit a terrible crime. In order to save the Dinosaurs…I have to lose my mind! This is an AU of my real life. Be sure you are ready for this. I tried to come and join you - The one left behind.

(This is not reality. This is what happens when I try to shut the Speckles Project down and walk away…)

Paradise Falls.

Don't you think we have a responsibility to live now, for those who couldn't? Whose journey's were cut short, whose stories ended prematurely? (And what do you know of sacrifice and redemption? You've been supported all your life.)

What happened back in 2010? My father collapsed while out on a walk and bashed his head on the pavement…I had to leave him bloodied and unconscious to go find help…they thought it didn't traumatize me…it did. (Gareth never forgave himself, if only he'd been faster?)

His mother also had similar misfortunes throughout her life…they keep almost dying then coming back…over and over…each time it was like an electric shock going through my body…if this is to be my life then I must accept it…you're not important and you will never accomplish anything…

Something else about his mom…her father died on her birthday…it marked her for life. As a consequence of that, Gareth believes his parents will die on his birthday…there's nothing he can do to stop it…it's a family tradition. But he'll die all alone, he's the only one left.

Never could keep any friends could you…no I didn't lose my friends, I lost interest in them…they were just another addiction. It wore off, it always does. I don't even recognize them after lockdown…who the hell are they now…it's not for you to judge…just sit back an watch.

Which brings us to the Speckles Project. The biggest cry for help by an individual in the modern time when an individual counts for nothing…there are over eight billion people on Earth…and they all hate/love each other…how can I possibly make a difference?

It was all going well until the Circle Completes. What the hell happened back in 2020…it was that moment during Full Circle that almost destroyed him. (Goodbye Mom and Dad. And thank you for everything.) He thought he killed his parents in front of the entire world and was going to hell for it.

I can go one better than that…he actually thought he was receiving visions from a higher power to convince the world that dinosaurs still lived amongst us…and if he screwed it all up invisible claws would rip him apart…he still had to function as a normal person…no one cared much.

It wasn't self loathing that kept him going…it was pure terror. (You let the dinosaurs die you murderer…you deserve to suffer for an eternity.) I didn't kill the dinosaurs, none of this is real…we are not living in a goddamn fan fiction…this is NOT reality, NOT reality.

Sorry kid, you're in the writing room forever. NO, I so nearly made it out…

How do I escape…I can't take this anymore? Come on it's simple…you've always known…

THAT THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO KILL YOURSELF…

GO ON, DO IT…

SOMEBODY HELP MEEEEEE…

Time To Wake Up.

"WHOA!" With a massive jolt Gareth wakes up. But he is not traumatized or confused. In fact he is downright annoyed. He knocks on the White Dino's door in his own mind once again…

"White Dino, White Dino?" The door opens. "Ah, good morning G. Was it me you were looking for?" "Yes. I asked for a GENTLE wakeup call. Not for you to pour the whole sad and terrible truth of the Speckles Project into my inner-ear with a BLOODY LOUD SPEAKER!"

"Terribly sorry G. But I thought it was about time all the world knew what has been going on for so many years now." "Good God MR. WD are you sure? I've been trying to suppress this one forever?" "It is so…" A voice comes from nowhere. Time's Arbiter appears before them.

"In order for us to be truly whole again. The world must know." "Very well then. Let the truth be told." Gareth replies…

The three of them glow bright and open up a portal into the minds of all humans and dinos…

Tighten your seatbelts dear readers. We are in for quite a ride…!

Days Of Future Passed.

It is 20 Million years in the future. Time itself is ending. On the remains of Planet Earth, three entities hover over a precipice looking out at the end of our time. The planet cracks and collapses all around them. The noise is deafening but they easily communicate…

"Alright everybody you know your assignments." One entity speaks. "White Dino. You will travel back to the time of Dinosaurs and use your considerable power to bring back the one known as Blue-Eyes. It won't be easy but I'm sure you will succeed." "Right you are sir." White Dino replies.

"Bringing back the dead…kinda my specialty as you well know."

The entity speaks to the other being next to him. "And you Mr. Arbiter. Your assignment is much more strange. You must travel back to the year 2020 and discover a way to enter his mind when he least expects it. If your introduction is too formal it might give the game away!"

"No problem sir." Time's Arbiter replies. "Dealing with the absurd…kinda my specialty."

"And what of your priority sir?" White Dino asks the central entity.

"After this we will never be the same again. I must travel to the year 2054. That is the year of his human death; and reveal the final truth to the world before our work is finished. Think of it as tying up a few loose ends."

"Okay then. But will you pick a name this time?" Asks White Dino.

"I have had many names in many times. But in this case I will take the name of my chosen vessel. The one known as GARETH." "Really, him again!" Time's Arbiter asks. "What can I tell you we have a connection. Even I can't explain everything and I'm a God. All I know is he died aged 77."

"Now…Go my brothers. If this succeeds we will meet again." White Dino and Time's Arbiter along with this nameless God flash and strobe to agree with one another. A portal opens up before them. They move through this portal and vanish just as the universe ends…

2054.

It is the year 2054. Thirty years since Gareth and Speckles parted on the best of terms. But, the world has become a very dark place. Mankind has all but vanished from the Earth. Ironically it was not war or disease or even climate change that destroyed us. It was DEATH DENIAL.

Life became increasingly bleak and terrible for us all. Half the population fell to despair and hopelessness. Some took their own lives, others simply vanished. But the other half of humanity did not die. They considered themselves the chosen ones. But they also knew that their bodies would give out one day. They took another path…

They built a gigantic super computer and called it The Matrix. There they transferred their minds into pure existential thought. Never to be bothered again by ageing or death. I don't exactly know what goes on in there…the first VR transfer headset was priced at three billion dollars!

Only a single man remains alive. He is Gareth. The last man on the planet. Cursed to wander alone and unnoticed as the world caved in around him. In his later years he too made attempts on his own life but it never took. Some unseen force kept him alive for all these long years.

He returns to the place that had once been his home. It is now just a dead field.

"I can't do this anymore. I know somehow it is my job to keep humanity's memory alive but what is the point? I am the only one left alive. I have lived to see many things both great and terrible. No one should know these things. So I have returned to be at peace. Please…let me go…"

Gareth lies down on the ground. A single tear rolls from his eyes. He speaks his final words…

"I am ready to be with God now…."

And thus Gareth died. Aged 77. The last human being. The only one left who knew our end.

A white portal opens up before his remains. Be sure you are ready for this…

As If The Moonlight Cast A Shadow.

At first there was nothing. Then there was light, all around. And I swear to you…there was folk music. The air was filled with it. Happiest music I ever heard, it was wonderful. And then, floating through the air…was a great white city in the clouds. It was filled with happiness and adventure and a sense of belonging. A great voice speaks, it is loud and full of purpose…

"Gareth, Gareth. It's okay. You don't have to be afraid anymore. You have done a wonderful job, come and be with your family and friends again." "Is this Heaven?" Gareth asks. "Yes." The voice replies. Suddenly everything goes dark. "It just isn't for you." Suddenly Gareth is thrown backwards by some unseen force, back into the blackness. For his job was not finished yet.

Another voice speaks. "Oh dear. That was very rude. You devote your life to doing his work then he turned his back on you?" "Yes, I suppose so. As I seem to be rejected by the one above I assume you're the other one. The King of Hell. Well, come at me Lucifer. There is nothing that scares me now…!"

"Excuse me! I am NOT your God or the Devil. I am something else entirely. Though I can understand your confusion. The dead tend to lose focus." "Then what are you? Where am I?"

"Prepare yourself." The voice replies. Out of the darkness, the Moon appears before Gareth. It is gigantic. "I am The God of Dinosaurs. Behold my greatness." "Er, what? Here I am trying to die and now I'm talking to the Moon! And the Moon tells me it's the God of Dinosaurs. Well, that's not in the least bit psychotic!" Came Gareth's response.

"I advise you to take this seriously. You are in a very difficult situation. For none are supposed to know of my existence. But your existence is special. For, in order to come back to your world, I must have a human vessel. One that has seen many things but is not yet at peace."

"Let's say that is true. What does a Dinosaur God want of me?" "I have an offer for you. But before we go ahead you must bid farewell to your old life, you must leave all of it behind."

"Look behind you Gareth, look…" He turns around.

Before him stand two figures. They are Speckles and Blue-Eyes. Two characters from a movie he once loved, a bit too much! "No, no, it was just a dream. A way of coping with a future loss I was so afraid to face. It is time to end this fantasy. Show your real selves."

Speckles and Blue-Eyes smile at Gareth, bow their heads and close their eyes. They ebb and fade into swirling dust. In their place stand two humans. They are his parents. A wave of realization washes over him. His breathing increases, his heart rate soars, but he neither screams nor cries. He can barely speak…

"Hi Mom and Dad. I'm Sorry. I tried to come and join you, I did everything I could in the world to come and join you. I know I'm going to hell. I thought I could cheat the system, that a life of good would buy my way into heaven. But I failed. You can't lie to your own soul. I don't know what happens next, but if there is any good left in the world we will see each other again. And I will live by your side again. I swear this. Goodbye Mom and Dad. And thank you for everything…"

They both smile at Gareth. They too ebb and fade into swirling dust. Lifted of this burden, Gareth turns back to face the Moon God.

Deals With Our Dinosaurs.

"There, it is done. But before this goes any further, I must see the real you. For I know now, the Moon is just your disguise." "You do not know what you ask. My real form would surely destroy you." "I no longer fear death. Only the unknown. You must show me, what do you look like…?"

Suddenly, with a blinding white flash and a roll of thunder the Moon vanishes, in its place, a gigantic, glowing Tarbosaurus Skull appears before Gareth. It must be a thousand miles long and five hundred miles wide. The tip of its snout is but a few feet from him. Gareth falls backwards, mouth agape, tears stream from his eyes.

"Behold the God of Dinosaurs. The one that exists in the Void Between. I am neither good or evil. I have existed since the dawn of time. And I pick you to be my vessel. Are you convinced now?"

"Yes my Lord. Please forgive me. I didn't know."

"Nobody does Gareth. Of all the people in your world, you theorized my existence. In essence making me real. You created your own God and now you must bear the responsibility for it."

"The first thing you must do is give me my name. What is my name?"

Gareth pauses for a moment, then it hits him. "It's you. YOU ARE THE WHITE DINO."

The White Dino looks at Gareth, right into his soul. "It's game time." He yells.

The huge Tarbosaurus skull morphs into a white spear. It pierces into his body as if staking its claim. Gareth feels a rush of power and understanding flow into him. A hundred million years of knowledge and emotion are now his to command. The spear disappears into his body…

The Circle Completes.

August 31st. 2020. With a massive jolt Gareth wakes up. He is confused, traumatized, struggling to breathe. It is as if he has been snapped out of a dream. A very dark and complex dream!

After regaining his calmness he goes to the bathroom to throw some water on his face. He happens to glance into the mirror. He sees something he can't describe, but is sure as hell is not his reflection. For a moment the two stare at each other. Eventually, the reflection speaks…

"If you are quite done feeling sorry for yourself, I lost the ENTIRE DINOSAUR RACE. That hurt!"

"Now, would you have a shower and a cup of Tea. We have a lot of work to do!"

"Okay, okay. I get the picture." Gareth replies.

"But I can't help feeling we've done all this before!?"

As we pull back into the sky, the story begins again. Once more I don't know what else to say?

A Tale Of Two Speckles and now Dino King Resurrection.

For Christ sake it's not even February yet!

Behold a Gareth and The White Dino production. Welcome to 2024!
