Dipper's POV

Ah, adulthood! A time for celebration, college applications, and looking to the future. Unless you're me.

My inner monologue played in my head, reminding me of the inner monologue I had six years ago when my twin sister Mabel and I were trying to escape the gnomes of the forest in a golf cart. Man, things were simpler back then! Back before the whole Weirdmaggedon situation and Bill. Now I was running for my life through that same forest, trying to escape from some creature of unimaginable horror. I couldn't see what exactly it was, but my instincts were screaming at me to get away.

But it was getting closer. I could feel its presence steadily creeping up behind me. Just as I was sure it would grab me—

"AAAAAAAH!" I bolted upright in my bed with a scream. It took me a few moments to realize where I was. I was back home in Piedmont, California, in my bedroom, safe. There was no creature chasing me.

I groaned and let my head fall into my hands. This wasn't the first time I'd had a nightmare like that. I'd been having them every night for the last two months, ever since I'd graduated from high school. Now usually I would be in Gravity Falls for the summer. My sister and I had been visiting every year since we were twelve. Mabel had gone, she never missed a chance to see everyone. But this year, I'd gotten a summer job in the local bookstore to earn money for college. I was planning on studying anomalies like Great-Uncle Ford.

For some reason though, I kept having those nightmares. Every night. Without fail. Briefly I wondered if it was Gravity Falls's way of trying to call me back. But that was silly! Even its weirdness couldn't be that weird.

…Right?

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I screamed again at the sudden sound. Then I groaned as I realized that it was just my alarm clock going off. Honestly, if I was going to continue waking up from these nightmares, then was there really a need for the alarm clock?

Sighing, I turned the alarm off and got up to get ready for work. But I couldn't shake the feeling that someone, or something, was watching me. I couldn't see anyone, but the feeling lingered even as I left my apartment.

Maybe I should go back to Gravity Falls. At the very least I could see Mabel and all my friends again. Grunkel Stan and Great-Uncle Ford too! They still traveled the world in the Stan O' War II, but they always came back to Gravity Falls when Mabel and I did.

? POV

So, it seems my plan to lure him back is finally working! He's been a very stubborn human, but I knew he'd answer my call eventually! Soon, he'll be mine! And I'll use him to take revenge on that town! AHAHAHAHAHA!
