it has been close to two months since i was more or less dropped into this world, and what am i doing right now?

well very simply just running through a mist fog layered forest.

am i on a jog or a mission you might ask. well no, this isn't an actual forest but if one thing is real, its my goal.

rather simple no? well you see im not exactly using the battle suit i would be using on regular mission and nor am i using my pair of raijin and fujin, rather im using an experimental battle suit and weapon

glancing down at my wrist i took note of the current state of the battle suit which being unstable due to excessive absorption and depletion of honkai energy, flipping my arms i took note of the condition the the sickle like weapons chained on my fore-arms, the edge of both the sickles having a few cracks

'hell, this the fifth pair already, who would have guessed that i need specific weapon to use some weapon specific skills and god the weapons itself is hard to replicate'

my internal lamenting come to a stop as i picked up honkai energy, making a sharp turn in that direction i activated a speed enhancing skill. coming closer and closer to my goal, seeing a few trees in the way i manifested a claymore out of honkai energy chopping the trees in half clearing the way

seeing another horde of honkai beast ahead, the attention of the beasts soon shifted to me as i came closer, glancing over to my newly acquired status bar seeing a variety of buffs and effects in place

'only one? no problem I'll just stack up on those'

channeling honkai energy to the chains wrapped on my arms making them loosen in response. gripping the chains on my right hand i spun the sickle like weapon on the chains end, it glowing a ominous purple, purple lines pulsing with honkai energy

'kay, hopefully i don't mess up the combo'

coming in range of the beasts i lashed out by swinging the chained weapon at the closest one, the weapon in question leaving a purple trail as it chopped the beast in half and embedding itself on the next one it letting out a distorted cry of pain and rage, reverse gripping the other sickle in my left hand, using the chain i pulled myself towards the beast

'ghastly slash'

closing the distance i slashed upwards from below the beast not giving it any time to defend or retaliate, the purple trail briefly shifting into a green one as an large upwards arch of green was created from the sickle its edge line glowing a sickly green and the beast cut cleanly in half, seeing its brethren get slain the other templar beast roared charging towards me its lance up to strike me

moving out of the way to thrust of the lance i launch my chained sickle towards the beast it being blocked by the the large shield, the sickle harmlessly bouncing off it with a resounding thud, but it was enough of a distraction to move in and fall in a combo of hits and strikes with my sickle pair all being blocked the shield, the beast being pushed back as i kept up the combo.

'ghastly slash'

recasting the skill i slashed at the shield the sickle once again shifted its glow from purple to green and another horizontal arch was created, under the intense strain of my attacks the shield finally relented with the last slash it breaking in two halves, glancing over to my status bar again i focus on the one effect in particular

'three stacks finally, just don't break now'

gripping both the sickles with both hands i channeled honkai energy into the sickles, the green glow intensifying further as slight cracks formed on it without me noticing, seeing it shield break it tried to attack me with its lance which i avoided and got infront of the beast as i just smirked

'ghost strike'

passing through the beast i appeared behind it leaving a green trail in my way, the beast being cleanly cut in three halves,

'I PULLED IT OFF, LETS FUCKIN-'

my internal celebration got rudely interrupted as i glanced down at the source of the sound, both the sickles had shattered only leaving its bottom half intact with some visible cracks still on it as it flickered between purple and green erratically

"{alright that's a wrap, meet me up here zeren for the results and to... you broke them again? sigh just come up here}"

i heard theresa speak into my earpiece as the forest flickered and disappeared leaving behind a large dome shape room with light blue screens for walls

"oh c'mon how was i supposed to know that these still cant handle honkai energy properly?" i spoke into the earpiece not getting a response, sighing i walked towards the exit of this dome and made my way to where theresa is

'well time to see what this pair lacked this time around'

a while later

observatory room

"that's it im redoing the whole design" i said now back in my uniform fed up with the results of the test conducted on the experimental battle suit and the pair of battle sickles "i still don't get why your doing all this despite having a perfected battle suit and weapons to go with it" spoke theresa annoyed by the current situation she was in "ignoring the results of your little experiment, I'd say you scored a perfect 100/100 on your physical examination"

hearing that both of my eye brow raised in surprise "seriously?" i asked getting a nod as an answer "surprisingly yes, you performed better than anyone taking these ever have... even though i could count the amount of individuals on one hand and still have fingers left" instead of being more surprised i was confused after hearing what theresa said "am i even supposed to be taking the examination on this level?"

"well... no but i wasn't fully sure if you would be able to pass or not if im being honest" spoke the child like principal sheepishly "well wrong of me to doubt you considering how much you have improved strength and skill wise"

'she definitely not off the mark on the skill part heh'

"well all that aside, how did the girls do on their examination?" i asked taking a seat on a chair near by, my body relaxing the moment i sat down on it

'god i feel so damn sore right now, ain't gonna channel excessive honkai energy into experimental battle suits again... never again...'

"they did well, excellent even, your training with mei and the girls sure is paying off" hearing that a little pride swelled up in my chest as i just smiled "ah, also kiana scored the highest on it" added in theresa, as i just froze for a while

'she actually went through with the bet.. wait if she scored the highest in the physical tests... did she pass the written part of the valkyrie exams too? did i help her too much?'

"what about her score on the written part?" i asked slight panic in my voice "i don't know about the written part, those are up to the teachers not me" said theresa glancing over to the pop-up on the screen infront of her "seems like everyone's done, you can get going now" said theresa hopping off her seat "what about that ruined battle suit?" i asked pointing over to the ruined battle suit and what was left of the battle sickles "up to you, you can either throw them out or just take them back to the weaponry department to get started on improving it"

"hmm, i guess I'll take em with me first to see if i can do anything with them" hearing this theresa just waved me off as she made her way to the door but stopping and looking back at me "and don't tell anyone that i told you about the scores, im not supposed to reveal them until the result day" with that she walked out of the room the door sliding close after

'fair enough.. now what to do with you'

walking over to the ruined battle suit and the sickle remains i stuffed them in separate suit cases as i made my way to home meeting up with himeko on the way as we made some light chatter along the way

after dinner

"what the fuck is this shit"

'you can cure honkai energy? wat ta fak? is this just nature energy?'

forming a baseball sized ball of honkai energy in my hand i gazed at the pink purple swirling mass of corrupted energy

'i mean sure too much of this fucks up anyone, so this is somewhat similar to nature energy from naruto or something, too much of nature energy and you get stoned quite literally and too much of honkai energy turns you into a zombie... yeah i kind of see the logic behind this... but the question is... how the fuck do i even cure this'

staring at the ball of honkai energy i thought of a way to somehow cure honkai energy, after a few moments i decided to try something

extending out the ball of honkai energy i focused more energy into it, making it expand to the size of a basketball

'cleanse'

'ok fuck you too bruh'

[skill activation: purification]

upon the activation of the skill the ball of honkai energy stopped swirling, the pink purple color slowly faded to white and blue, looking as if it was snow storm frozen in time

'is this cured honkai energy? ain't no way this is the actual thing'

'inspect'

[inspection result: unknown energy, properties cannot be identified]

'...okay?'

forming another small ball of honkai energy in my other hand i brought both the ball of energy closer and combined them, the ball of unknown energy swiftly consuming the smaller ball of honkai energy and soon it started swirling again but now with a faint glow of pink with some hints of blue in it

'that looks kinda cool'

'inspect'

[inspection result: cured honkai energy, stable, no corruption detected]

'NO CORRUPTION?! ok i need to carry out more experiments on this, I'll work on the battle suit later'

getting the feel of the cured honkai energy it felt more calm and stable compared to normal honkai energy which felt more chaotic and unstable, though it felt rather weaker compared to uncured honkai energy

"what's that?"

the sudden question catching me off guard making me jump and the ball of cured honkai energy to dissipate into blue pink particles with enough force behind it to make the person behind me lose their balance and fall onto my back with a "eek"

turning slightly i caught the person for my scare as it was revealed to be himeko who had a slight blush on her face "you okay himeko?" i asked a startled himeko getting a slow nod in return "w-what was that you had in your hand?" questioned himeko, before i could answer my nose picked up the smell of alcohol and the source of it being the beauty in my arms "are you drunk?" i asked blandly making himeko look away "...n-no hik im not dr-drunk" her response and the look on her face just made her look very cute

smiling i straightened her up on her feet as she swayed slightly "so what brings you to my room?" i asked the already present blush on her face deepening "well- um hik its ju-just-" "if its nothing really important we'll talk about in the morning when your not drunk" i said as i picked her up again and plopped her over my shoulder "off to your room now-"

this moment to the next i was now on my bed back down with himeko on top of me with some red now dusting my face "what are you doing?" i asked slightly flustered by the current situation "i don't w-want to sleep alone tonight hik" my eyes widening on the implication of that sentence "you don't mean.." i spoke my body growing less tense by the moment "im hik sleeping with.. you.. tonight... please.." her words sounding pleading almost desperate towards the end, looking into her eyes i could see the need and desperation for this which confused me to no extent

not getting an response himeko lowered her head slightly as i could see some tears forming on the corners of her eyes

in this moment i was presented with two choices, one to accept her request and let her sleep with me just for this night and start something im not sure about or two to reject her request and worsen the state she was in. one thing was obvious, no matter what i chose, there is a chance this will ruin whatever relation we built up until now.

truly a gamble no matter what choice i make.

well it was quite obvious which was the right choice to make considering she's drunk right now.. but.. the desperation in her voice and the sorrow in her eyes.. i let out a heavy sigh and decided.

"i-its fine hik if you'd wouldn't want t-to, just forget a-about all th-" started himeko moving herself from ontop of me but before she could fully do so i grasped her hand getting her attention "zeren?" looking right into her eyes i gave my answer

"i.. don't mind you sleeping.. with me.. just for this night"

hearing my words she paused for moment before launching herself ontop of me as we both crashed on the bed again but now with himeko hugging me tightly "thank you" came the muffled words of himeko as i felt the area of my t-shirt get wet on where her face was

wrapping my arm around her i held her close comfortingly rubbing circles on her back as felt my own eyes getting heavier

'i don't know if the reason this was because of the alcohol or my presence, but for now.. just rest himeko, consequences be dammed'

with that fleeting thought my eyes finally closed and drifted off to sleep with himeko still in my arms

next morning

i awoke from my sleep as i felt a certain someone shuffle besides me in bed, opening my eyes i sat up stretching slightly as i heard some bones pop, gazing over to the sleeping form of himeko seeing her shuffle lightly. "awake yet himeko?" my question seemed to finally wake her from her slumber as she too sat up and rubbed the sleep away from her eyes "good morning beautiful" i said with a smile on my face "slept well?"

yawning she looked over to me with her half closed eyes "good morning to you too zeren, yeah i slept... well... why are you in my bed?" seeing the opportunity i decided to tease her a bit "my bed by the way and what? you don't remember what happened last night?" i asked smiling slyly, my words and their implications took a while to settle in but when they did an atomic blush erupted on her face

'oh im gonna enjoy this'

"w-what happened last night? don't tell me we did that?! oh god why did i have to go and get drunk-" before she could continue panicking i busted out laughing on seeing her panic like that, seeing my laugh she just gave me a incredulous look "what's so funny about this?" asked himeko panic visible on her face accompanied by an atomic blush on her face, controlling my laughter i wiped a small tear that formed on the edge of my eye "don't worry, nothing like that happened, but seriously you don't remember a thing?"

at my question she seemed to finally remember "i got heavily drunk and i... oh" at finally recalling last night events she gave me a bland look "not funny zeren" smiling a sultry smile her mood did a 180 as she leaned closer to me making a lean back in tow giving me a clear view of her rather large cleavage in the process "but i have a feeling you would have liked that if it did happen"

'so it was just because of the alcohol, i overreacted i guess'

completely ignoring the visible cleavage i instead focused on her face which had some pink dusting her cheeks, smiling i leaned forward making her lean back slightly in turn "if it do were to happen I'd rather have you not drunk and be fully conscious to enjoy the ride"

at my words the pink on her cheeks turned into a full blush and her eyes gained a shine "you don't say.." placing her hand on my chest she pushed me down on the bed as she crawled on top and straddled me "perhaps now will be a good time~, i am fully conscious after all"

'i might just get laid today'

"i couldn't agree more" i said from my position from below her as i tried to look at her face but it was being obstructed by her... assets, very large assets, with only her eyes being visible for me to see

'i swear the game did not do those assets justice cus god damn they are huge'

at my words she leaned down a bit as slight hesitance flashed in her eyes as an expression of hesitance dawned on her flushed face "i- you don't mind someone older than you right?" at her question i gave her a reassuring smile, lifting myself in a sitting position with himeko grabbing onto my shoulders for support as she now sat in my lap with her legs crossed around my waist, gently lifting her face up i gave her a warm smile

"if that older someone is you, than I'd be lying if i said i did mind it"

once again i was pushed down on the bed by himeko with her face close to mine "if that's the case~" she started to move her face closer and closer to mine as our lips came closer and on the verge or touching

"WAKE UP ALREADY ZEREN! I CALLED YOUR PHONE SEVEN TIME Al- ready..." before our lips could meet the door to my room was kicked down by an very pissed off theresa who got the attention of us both "WHAT ARE YOU BOTH DOING?!" her face soon fully flushed as she looked at the very intimate position me and himeko being in with her in her underwear and a small loose top

"AND WHY ARE YOU IN HIS ROOM?!" asked the now embarrassed theresa pointing at himeko who was on top of me, giving each other a look we both smirked, an unspoken agreement was made to tease the poor principal to no ends.

"why having some fun with my boyfriend of course" spoke up himeko as i sat up on the bed with himeko pressing her body onto mine making theresa's already red face become even redder

'wait what- eh fuck it ill go with the flow, god this woman is too much.. but i like that'

"JUST COME TO my OFFICE IN 30 MINUTES" saying that she slammed the door close as her footsteps faded from our ears, a moment of silence followed which was by himeko as she busted out laughing, removing herself from our close contact she got off the bed and stretched "too bad we got interrupted next time maybe" spoke himeko looking at me with pink dusting her cheeks, getting off the bed myself i stretched as i smiled slyly towards himeko

"your boyfriend huh? doesn't sound bad if im being honest-" getting cut off by himeko punching my arm lightly "atleast take me on a date first before saying such things" said himeko with a slight pout, taking advantage of the height difference i tilted her face slightly upwards as for her gaze to meet my own "we'll decide that later, as for now" leaning down i place a kiss on her forehead which made himeko freeze up as her face grew red again

seeing this i laughed lightly as i made my way into my bathroom but giving himeko a last wink before closing the door to the bathroom "you should get ready too she asked for both of us to be in her office in 30"

in zeren's room stood himeko, confused, flustered but mainly feeling a strong desire for the man that had just kissed her forehead, an action only a few in her life had done mainly her mother

'you will know when you finally meet the one meant for you'

an memory of her mothers words replayed in her head as she made her way to her own to get ready for whatever theresa need her and zeren for, closing the door to her room she got into shower her mothers words kept replaying in her head

'i will know when i meet the one meant for me...'

the night when she first met zeren replayed in her head, the way he appeared out of nowhere to save her from the herrscher's attack, his help in taking down the herrscher and him in her arm passed out under the night sky

'if that older someone is you, than I'd be lying if i said i did mind it'

in theresa's office

"so what did you need us for?" i asked as me and himeko stood in theresa's office, me in my uniform without the jacket and a lose tie and himeko in her usual work outfit "well to start off, zeren did you make any progress on your battle suit and the... battle-sickles?"

"not exactly but i need to carry out another experiment to confirm if it might work or not" nodding at my response she pulled out an file which she slid over to me, picking up the file i raised an eyebrow at her "an potential honkai outbreak that you and kaito might have to cover up, the details are in the file, further instructions will be given later and do inform kaito about this potential mission" nodding i opened the file to read over the details whilst dialing kaito at the same to inform him about the potential mission

"got anything for me?" asked himeko folding her arms under her chest, sighing theresa waved a file in the air infront of himeko with the label 'valkyrie exams results' on it, upon reading the label all the color from himeko's face faded "shit i forgot about that" letting out another sigh she placed it infront of himeko "we have to put up the results in two day so get to work" nodding mechanically she picked up the file and made her way to the exit of the office but stopped before she could walk through the doors

taking in a deep breath she walked towards zeren who had just gotten off the call with kaito "hey zeren" gaining his attention she reached up and kissed him on his cheek "I'll be busy for today so see you directly at home later, okay?" with that said she walked out of the office but giving zeren her own wink as she walked out, leaving zeren stunned with a blush evident on his face

"did she just-" i said to myself as i stood stunned by her actions "i believe she did" spoke sakura who had walked into the office with some files and papers and in her assistant outfit as she laughed lightly "ahem, since its a off-day for the students your free to do whatever you might like" snapping out of my trance i nodded as i place the file back onto the table and i walked out of the office as well

'i have met many girls though ought my life, younger and older, but god.. this one.. might just do what most could not'

training grounds

sounds of swords clashing could be heard accompanied by the sounds of lightning, zeren and mei could be seen sparring with lightning dancing around mei's body, an single wing made of lightning could be seem over her left shoulder

zeren was in simple shirt and pants held fujin in his right hand as the blade clashed with its counter part, the clash generating enough force to push back both parties

"your control is getting better, lets see if you can keep the same control under pressure" spoke zeren as he rushed towards mei again, both the katanas clashed again with zeren on the offensive and mei on the defensive which very quickly changed as the difference in mastery over a katana was shown as mei forced zeren on the defensive, the crackling lightning around mei intensifying further as her attacks got faster and more accurate

this went on for a while longer as sweat started to appear on mei's form, whereas zeren barely broke a sweat during all this. seeing an opening in the flurry of attacks zeren exploited the opening which in turn blasted mei back with a burst of wind, without missing a beat zeren followed up by sending a few wind blades towards mei. some she avoided as of whole and some she parried, in this few seconds zeren closed the gap between them both and slashed out at mei

barely managing to block zeren's slash she channeled more of her herrscher powers into raijin as it for a moment glowed red instead of its dark purple. and with a pulse of thunder she forced zeren back a few feet, giving her enough time to take a breather "what's wrong mei? tired already? i haven't even gotten started yet" spoke zeren slight disappointment slipping into his voice which made mei look back at him with a narrowed gaze

'is he.. disappointed...? i need more power..."

getting back into a stance she looked back at zeren with a determined gaze making zeren stop in his place as a smile spread on his face, both party said nothing as they waited for the other to make the first move

PING

the ping from zeren's phone served as the signal for the spar to continue, both side rushing at each other again. zeren once again sent wind blades at mei which she parried and sent out her own lightning wave towards zeren which he promptly jumped over, predicting this she jumped after him slashing out once she got in range for an attack. raijin met fujin, the force mei put behind her launched zeren towards the ground

not relenting she sent more waves of lightning towards the falling zeren which he parried with wind blades mid fall, finally reaching the ground he moved backwards as to avoid more lightning waves sent his way by mei who's form was surrounded by red lightning and raijin glowing the same red. landing on the ground herself she rushed after zeren, both falling into yet another dance of attacks and parries. and she saw it, a sweat drop trickling down zeren's face

by this point mei had successfully made zeren fight her more seriously than compared to before.

blocking another one of mei's attacks zeren jumped back a few feet to take a breather erecting a wind wall in his wake as it pushed mei back, glaring at the wall of wind she channeled more and more of her herrscher powers into raijin as she prepared a powerful lightning wave to dissipate the wall of wind and to throw at zeren. after a few seconds mei unleashed her attack completely dissipating the wall of wind and headed straight for zeren who unleashed his own wind attack with a smirk on his face

the clash of attacks resulted in both the parties being thrown back a few feet more.

'i may have only seen zeren use this once, but this is my chance to beat him at his own game and prove that im improving'

with that thought mei created a dagger made out of lightning similar to zeren's own. smiling she aimed and channeled her powers and threw the dagger at zeren with all of her force through the smoke.

adopting a stance zeren waited for mei's next move as he observed the smoke cloud infront of him. soon his eyes widened and a smile appeared on his face at what he saw come at him from the smoke cloud.

'is that- no lets see what it does'

with a knowing smile he shifted as to move fujin behind him and let his left arm get hit by the dagger. a sudden shock coursed through his body paralyzing him for a split second and in that split second mei appeared behind zeren as she brought raijin down onto zeren with all her might as she let out a lout cry.

'it is shadow edge, she recreated shadow edge by herself. mei, you definitely are something more than the game described you to be'

with that thought the time for zeren slowed as he fully shifted to parry mei's attack. time went back to normal as raijin once again met fujin but this time zeren put force behind his own parry and manage to throw mei back which seemed to catch her off-guard

mei's eyes widened in surprise not expecting this with her guard completely down and nothing to defend with, zeren brought fujin down onto her undefended form as mei shut her eyes bracing for the hit but was met with a head pat instead, opening her eyes she looked up to see the smiling face of zeren, an smile spread across her own face.

"you made great progress in your control it seems" i said pointing at the incomplete wing behind her as it had its second wing sparking with the first one, mei looked back at what i was pointing, seeing the wing gain its second part an expression of joy crossed her face as she silently fist pumped

"but." i continued her attention shifting back to me "you still need raijin to use your herrscher powers be it partially, since you have the second part of the wing now we'll try again without raijin tomorrow" nodding she gave me a bow "thank you sensei, I'll do my best to control my herrsher powers without the help of raijin" sweatdropping i laughed slightly embarrassed "hey now don't call me sensei your still a better fighter with katanas than i am, hell im myself learning new things on herrscher powers"

'aye i aint lying when i said shes better then me, my katana style is made up from anime reference and some of my own experience whereas mei here has been a kendo practitioner her whole life and if the data on her in Schicksal files are correct, she's one of the best at the art of wielding a katana in the whole of japan, and yeah i didn't know that raijin could help her control her powers'

giggling she deactivated her power as an sense of extreme dizziness came over her making her fall to the ground but just in time for me to catch her and carefully sit her down on a bench, siting besides her i took out a water bottle and made her drink some water as she leaned on my shoulder, leaning my head back i took a sip from the bottle and let out a sigh. feeling mei sit straight up again i looked at her slightly concerned for her "sorry for blacking out like that so suddenly" apologized mei to which i lightly chopped her on her head making her pout cutely

"stop apologizing for every minor thing, you blacked out like that because your body is not fully used to the power you used in our spar. it should stop after a while though" i added in the end handing the bottle back to mei as she gulped it all down in one go. pulling a towel i handed it to mei to wipe the sweat accumulated during the spar

"that dagger you threw at me" i began making her blush lightly "i saw you use it once while our field training class and thought.. I'd try to replicate it.." the shyness combined with the blush on her face made her look very cute. patting her i spoke "don't think too much about it, im more surprised that you managed to replicate shadow edge just after seeing it once and it.. makes me really happy honestly" the blush on her face didn't budge but a smiled appeared on her face at my words

"anyways this seems like a good time to call it for the day, its getting rather late too" i said as i noticed my phone buzzing i picked it up to see who was calling "is it kiana?" asked mei from behind me glancing at my phone's screen "yep its kiana" i said answering the call. ["zeren-senpai, mei-senpai when are you returning?! im starving, come home already!"]

our ears were assaulted by the rather loud voice of kiana blasting through the phone's speaker "yeah yeah calm down we just got done we'll be there in a bit" i said trying to calm down the very loud tuna ["oh, ok then!"] spoke the tuna happy as she hung up the call "lets not keep kiana waiting" spoke up mei with a slight amused tone

back at himeko's home

after arriving home mei decided to clean up and i got started on preparing dinner for everyone

placing the plates down i noticed the absence of a certain red-hair beauty, glancing towards the clock i frowned slightly

'where is himeko? she said she'll be here by now'

a while later

"are you not going to eat zeren-senpai?" asked kiana with her mouth full of food who got bonked on the head by mei, glancing back towards the clock i frowned again, getting up from the chair i walked into the kitchen "is everything ok zeren?" asked mei, looking back i gave her a smile "don't worry, everything's ok just gonna prepare somethings for himeko" realization dawned upon her as she nodded with a slight smile "than leave the clean up to us" nodding i prepared a bento for himeko and me

walking into the main building i walked to theresa's office once again the building being empty excluding some teachers or students who were heading out of the building

reaching theresa's office i walked in and saw theresa and sakura on the couch eating a bento, knocking on the open doors i got their attention theresa giving me a look before swallowing the food in her mouth "looking for himeko?" asked theresa with a grin on her face "yes" i answered blandly "she should be in the teachers lounge, don't let her drink by the way, i don't want the lounge to be trashed again" raising an amused eyebrow i nodded "I'll make sure that doesn't happen"

walking towards the teachers lounge i saw a few lights on, looking into the lounge i saw a single light on above a working himeko who was massaging her forehead, opening the door the teachers lounge with himeko not noticing, leaning on the opened door i knocked on it a few times, making himeko look up as surprise flashed across her face "zeren, why are you here?" pushing myself off the door i walked towards her desk as i placed the carry bag that had both our bentos init

"if you think I'll let you miss dinner then you are very wrong my dear" i said moving behind her chair "i appreciate you looking out for me but you didnt have to.." placing my hands on her shoulder i gave them a slight massage getting a sigh of relief in response as her tense shoulders relaxed "you have been at this from the morning, you should relax for a while and have your dinner as well" i said smiling down on at her

ending her shoulder massage i pulled a chair from the side and sat down infront of himeko "and of course its a boyfriends job to make sure his girlfriend doesn't over-work herself" i said smiling slyly at her as i pulled out both of our bento, a moment later himeko punched my arm with a blush on her face "atleast take me out on a date before you call yourself my boyfriend"

"so you do want me as your boyfriend, well who am i to refuse such a beautiful lady" i laughed out avoiding another punch which was headed for my face "now now how about we start eating before the food gets too cold"

a few hours later

"alright we're here" i spoke to myself as himeko grumbled something from her place on my back asleep "yeah yeah to your room we go"

walking into her room i went to lay her down on her bed, softly laying down on her bed i went to move out of the room but before i could my arm was stopped by a strong grip, before i could try anything i was pulled into the arms of himeko as she hugged me tightly

wiggling slightly i tried to free myself of the hug to no avail, letting out a sigh i resigned myself to my fate 'man, did i get promoted to teddy bear status or something?'

moving my eyes down onto himeko's face i was met with a very serene and peaceful expression on her face, moving my arm i moved some strands of hair obstructing her face to the side granting my a clear view of her at-peace face, this gesture granted a small smile to appear on her lips, seeing this i was overcome with an unknown fuzzy feeling

ignoring the feeling i wrapped my own arms around her pulling her closer to me in the process, closing my own eyes as i felt myself drift off to sleep

next day

'well this day is off to a great start'

"alright, I'll get ready for the mission" i spoke into the phone as i cut the call, sighing i put the phone down onto the night stand, looking over to the sat up form of himeko i saw her trying to hold back her laughter "what" at my question the dam broke ad she laughed out loud, trying to control her laughter she spoke up "its just your face is just priceless" getting a flat look from me which made her laugh harder, getting annoyed by this i thought of a quick and effective way to silence her

smirking i grabbed her shoulders gaining her attention, her face red from all the laughing, before she could say something i forced her down onto the bed with me on top her, the realization of our position settled in for himeko as her face grew redder "what are you doing?" asked the now flustered himeko

leaning down i placed a kiss on her forehead, effectively silencing her and stop her laughing fit "now that your calmed down, as you already heard i won't be here for most of the day so you, my dear, make sure you don't overwork yourself while i won't be here" saying that i gave her a smile as i got off her and walked out the door towards my room to get ready for the mission that spoiled my sunday

'wait, fuck ok this is the best time to field test those'

and with that thought i made mental note to visit the the equipment department of before departing for the mission

30 minutes later

"zeren, wait a moment" i heard himeko call out to me before i could fully exit through the door, looking back i saw himeko walking up to me with a smile on her face "yeah?" i asked leaning on the wall

she motioned me to get closer to which i complied "kay' now whats up?" i asked again making her smile turn into a smirk "don't you think your forgetting something?" hearing this i patted myself down feeling for essentials and finding them all there in their respective places, looking back at himeko i tilted my head to side

"what am forgetting?" instead of a verbal answer i was i pulled forwards by himeko, and all of the sudden i felt a pair of lips on my own with my mind going blank for a while, pulling back she smiled sweetly at me "its a girlfriend's job to wish her boyfriend good luck when he goes on missions"

'damn.'

"well then off you go" spoke up himeko snapping me out of my trance with her lightly pushing me out of the door

"im still confused why you want to take the prototypes and not your actual battle suit" spoke theresa standing a few feet away from the aircraft dock to me who had the prototype battle suit on and the battle sickles chained to my wrists firmly, looking back at theresa i just gave her a confident smile "if this works out, i think it might just bring a new age of battle suits" at my words she just raised her eyebrow doubt clearly evident on her face

"zeren, its 7am, this isn't the time to be delusional" spoke kaito smacking the back of my head lightly yawning soon after "what's the mission again? i just geared up and came out here half asleep" asked kaito getting bland looks from both me and theresa

"the mission is about us suppressing a potential honkai outbreak before it actually happens" i summed up, with theresa shrugging "in a nutshell, yeah that basically what the mission is about but there's also a little update we got this morning" this getting both mine and kaito's attention "you two might face another pseudo herrscher on the mission, be careful and if you do come across one, your priority is to escape the place immediately. this one has already far surpassed the signature we had from compared to the one we fought in nagazora"

an tense atmosphere settled as me and kaito exchanged looks and nodded "alright, we'll be care this time around" i spoke as an aircraft came into view "you both better come back from this, especially you zeren. i havent seen himeko this lively around someone, you already understand what it mean right?" spoke theresa as she walked away from the dock as i didn't reply and gazed at the aircraft that landed infront of me and kaito

'i very well know what that means theresa'

with that thought i got onto the aircraft
