But even as she approached, she felt that something was wrong - it was too quiet and there were no guards or patrols. It turned out that while Dawn was in the field, the base was attacked by Ash Ketchum and his friends. They snuck into the labs and freed his Pikachu, who Dawn had kidnapped earlier. Dawn was relieved that she herself had not been there during the attack. She wouldn't want to fight against Ash and relive the bitterness of defeat.
After the attack, the command sent Dawn to a secret warehouse to retrieve important parts for research. However, while Dawn was collecting the necessary components, she accidentally came across a strange device on the shelf. From the description, it sounded a lot like the power source for their secret project! Dawn couldn't miss this chance.
