It's My Life
The party had been a great idea. A celebration for all the hard work done to figure out the puzzle of horcruxes, banding together to find and destroy them. This had been a productive year indeed, and now all that remained was killing Nagini, then Voldemort himself. Harry already had it planned, whether he had to die or not. Harry and Voldemort were going to face off and the others were going to handle the death eaters so they couldn't try to intervene to help Voldemort against Harry.
It would be one hell of a battle, but one everyone was more than happy to take part in if it meant that Voldemort would be eradicated from this world once and for all. And in that time, everyone could round up the death eaters too. Harry's only concern was his Slytherin friends; the parents of Pansy, Vincent, Gregory, Blaise, and Theodore were still within Voldemort's circle. Harry had been told by Severus that Narcissa and Lucius extended out the invitation to leave, free of consequence and were only met with that they'd think about it. It'd been some time since then, and nothing.
Harry didn't see them the night he was captured either, so Voldemort either didn't call on them or they were handling other things. It wasn't Harry's place to coax those parents into changing sides for their kids, but if they came forward; he would help them as he did for Lucius, Narcissa, and Peter. Severus hadn't been given a choice because Harry made him choose.
There were times Harry still felt he'd been unfair, but then he remembered his time captured; how they'd always suspected Severus of not truly being on their side because of his love for Lily, and then the real suspicion happened during trial when Narcissa, Lucius, and Severus had been on the stand, under Veritaserum to admit their loyalties to Harry against Dumbledore.
Harry should have guessed they were being watched. It made headlines that Albus was arrested and it would be a major trial. Harry should have known Voldemort would have the trial watched. It was never safe for them after that, but when Severus still went that one night and had been gone for hours; Harry let his grief of losing Sirius get to him and he took it out in the form of fear of losing Severus. Knowing what Harry did now, he didn't feel bad at all. It saved Severus's life.
Harry would never take it back; he'd been just the right kind of angry and hurt to get Severus to see that him staying a spy was selfish because before when he did it; he didn't have any reasons to keep going. Nothing to return home to. But he adopted Harry, so he had a son to come back to and that should have made the man realize that he couldn't risk dying.
Harry had his parents back now, but it would never change that Severus was his father too. It might bother James Potter, but Harry didn't care. Severus had been there for him, and still was. James needed to understand that Severus was still Harry's father, even with James alive. Harry wanted them to get along, and work together as fathers. Sirius counted as a father, but had stepped back into uncle position, like Remus.
And Harry wasn't sure what to see Peter as, it might be too much to see the man as family, but a friend worked. The man had died to save Harry, so perhaps with more time, Harry could see him as more than a friend of his father and uncles. It could change later down the line. Harry hadn't gotten to spend time with Peter over the years like he did with Sirius and Remus.
But that was kind of a lie because technically, Peter had lived as Scabbers with Ron through his first three years of school. It didn't matter, everyone was alive and okay. Life was great right now and soon, so very soon in a couple months, Voldemort would be gone. Harry was sure the man was going to try and find him, to start something and he'd be ready.
The rest of the Easter holiday was calm and soon everyone had returned to school to get back to their normal for the end of the year. Harry stayed on his teaching schedule, and was getting in the last of the important lessons before they'd start going over previously learned to prepare for end of year exams. Not the NEWTs, that was next year, but still basic end of year tests to ensure they learned the proper lessons that year.
Harry still had his random drinks with Severus, and of course, spent some nights with his boyfriend. It wasn't always sex, of course. Sometimes the two just talked and cuddled up together. Today was Friday, April 11th, and it was about 5:30 am. Draco had told Harry last night he wasn't feeling great and stayed in his dorm for the evening, so around 10:45 pm, Harry walked Draco back to Slytherin common room and asked to be kept up to date on how he felt.
Draco had a miserable time trying to sleep with how he felt. Draco was tired, but also felt nauseous. Right about now, Draco couldn't deal with it anymore as he got out of bed and moved to the bathroom, rushing to the closest stall before he puked. Draco didn't understand why he was so nauseous, but he didn't like it.
Draco remained in the bathroom for a while, not getting any relief from the nausea and basically sitting on the floor in his black pajamas. The door had opened and someone walked in.
"Draco?" Came Theodore's voice.
"Yeah?" Draco replied.
"Are you alright?" Theodore inquired. "I saw you rush out of your bed and you've been in here for the last twenty minutes."
"Stomach feels a bit off is all." Draco replied.
"Do you want me to get your godfather for you?" Theodore questioned.
"No, it's fine." Draco told him. "I'll be out in a few minutes."
"If you say so." Theodore said, then left the room.
Draco took a few breaths and tried to move up to his feet, fighting the nausea the whole time and lost. Draco threw up two more times and whimpered before wiping his mouth and flushing the toilet. Draco exited the stall and went to the sink to wash out his mouth and clean his hands before getting back to bed.
. . .
Five days went by and Draco just didn't understand what was wrong with him. First he thought he might be getting sick, but the nausea was so random. The rest of the symptoms were fatigue and watching the foods he ate. It was odd that he strayed from things he'd loved, but it would set his stomach off, so he avoided them. It was weird, but the nausea was driving Draco crazy, so he was finally giving in and going to see his godfather. Right now, it was about 9:30 pm, so Draco knew he couldn't dawdle. Draco reached his godfather's office door, and knocked twice.
"Come in." Came Severus's voice. Draco opened the door to find his godfather sitting at his desk and grading papers. "Draco. It's almost curfew…What brings you by?"
"I know, I'm sorry…You're closer than the hospital wing, though." Draco admitted.
"Why do you need the infirmary?" Severus placed his quill down to rise from his seat to get to his godson.
"I can't seem to shake this nausea, Uncle Sev. I was hoping you had something for it?" Draco looked at the man.
"All day, or over a couple days?" Severus asked.
"Started last Friday, but it's just nausea and fatigue." Draco stated. "And the nausea is random."
"Odd," Severus mentioned. "No matter. You know I have stomach soothers, godson," The man summoned the potion to his hand and gave it to the teenager.
"Thanks," Draco drank it down.
"Why don't you call it a night and get some sleep, Draco?" Severus suggested. "I'll give you another in the morning if you're still feeling this way. But…If this goes on til Friday, I want you to see Madam Pomfrey. Okay? Or come to me. I can run all the same diagnostic spells she can." Draco nodded to him gently. "Good. Go on now. And come back if you feel worse."
"Yes, Uncle Sev." Draco turned and left the room.
Severus watched as his godson tiredly exited. It seemed odd, but Severus didn't push the matter because he knew Draco would come to him if he felt worse or this ended up hitting a full seven days. Maybe it was just stress. Harry had felt sick when he was stressed and despite their position in the war of having destroyed the horcruxes; there was still a battle to be fought. Severus just hoped his godson would be alright.
. . .
Weeks had passed and Draco was feeling worse, but on the bright side, he was turning seventeen in about a month. Today was now May 8th, 1997, and Draco was at his wits end with how he felt and the fact it had been going on so long. Something wasn't right and he just couldn't figure out on his own what it was. Draco managed through with the nausea for a second week, but then he noticed his nipples were sore during showers when he'd washed himself, or someone brushed against him. Then came more food cravings or aversions, and now there was having to use the bathroom a lot.
Draco never told anyone about how he was feeling because it felt weird to admit things that he was dealing with, not even to Harry, and that man had a feeling something was off because of how distant Draco had become. Not in the sense they were fighting, but Harry had noticed Draco was coming around less and less and Harry would let it go because Draco would say he was studying for exams. That was fine, Harry had a lot of work to do too. But Draco couldn't deal with this anymore and he needed to find out if something was seriously wrong with him.
So at the moment, it was about 6:00 pm, an hour and a half til dinner, and Draco had given in. The teenager was now making his way to his godfather's office to ask him if he'd run scans. Draco reached the office and knocked twice. The door opened on its own as Severus was at his desk.
"Come on in, Draco." Severus invited. Draco walked in and the door closed behind him. "What do you need?"
"I-I wanted to ask if…" Draco hesitated.
"Draco? It's not like you to hesitate. What's wrong?" Severus stood up now, walking around his desk to stand near Draco, but then guided the boy to sit on the chair. "Talk to me."
"I think there's something wrong with me and…Wanted to know if you'll still run those diagnostic scans you told me about during Mid-April." Draco said.
"Of course I will, but…And this would be asked if you went to Madam Pomfrey, why do you think something is wrong with you?" Severus inquired.
"It's…Kind of embarrassing. I didn't want to go to my parents, or friends…Not even Harry, but I think he suspects something because I've been kinda distant from him." Draco looked down.
"Draco…It's the same as I always tell Harry. I can't help if you don't tell me what's wrong." Severus reminded.
Draco sighed. "It started with that nausea I told you about. And the fatigue. Sweet Merlin, I'm always tired even if I sleep all night. I think a few times, I've taken midday naps and you know me, Uncle Sev. I don't ever do that." He started to reveal. "The nausea has resulted in me throwing up at random."
"Usually worse in the mornings, but it's hit at other times too. Then there is an aversion to foods I love, random food cravings…" Draco paused. "But the other things are…That my chest is sore, more specifically around or on the nipples…And there's always having to use the bathroom."
Severus stared at his godson. "When did this start? That Friday in April, you told me?"
"That was the first time I woke up nauseous and ended up going to the restroom about 5:30 am and puking. I had started to feel some of the nausea and fatigue the night before, Harry walked me back to the dorm to rest. Everything else has come on over the weeks since. I'd say maybe the third or fourth week, the beginning of May?" Draco told him. "It's weird, right? I'm not just losing my mind? It's an odd mix of things and it means something, doesn't it?"
"Yes, it does…" Severus replied.
"So what do you think is wrong? A-Am I dying?" Draco asked.
"Let's not jump to the worst." Severus stated. "Relax. Here lay back across these chairs," He moved the other one close to create a make-shift bed. "Keep still, Draco." The teenager nodded as Severus muttered a spell and dragged his wand over Draco's body slowly and then waited as the light swirled and shifted into a sheet of paper. Severus stared over it and found what he was looking for, finding that his hunch hadn't been wrong.

Oh, Merlin. Draco was pregnant. His godson was pregnant. How was it even possible?!
"U-Uncle Severus? You've been quiet since that paper appeared. I-Is everything okay?" Draco asked.
Finally, Severus lowered the paper and looked at his godson, unable to hide the surprise in his eyes. "Draco. I don't want you to panic, alright? This is…It's startling." Severus said as Draco tensed a bit. "You are pregnant."
Draco's eyes widened and his mouth dropped open rather undignified. "I-I'm w-what?"
"You're pregnant, Draco. And a good two months into it already." Severus revealed as he turned the sheet to give to his godson.
Draco shakily took the paper and read it over. The words stared him in the face; he was actually pregnant. "I-I don't understand. I-I'm a boy. Harry's a boy. How does this happen? It's…It's not possible, right? It has to be a mistake."
"Draco, this is the same scan I used on Harry to identify his wounds from the night your parents took him out of the Dursley's and we were able to see injuries and malnutrition from his entire life. This scan is never wrong. It's not a mistake…You're carrying a real baby in your stomach. I admit, when you started listing symptoms, I inwardly cracked a joke that it sounded like you were pregnant. But seeing this…It appears I was not wrong." Severus informed.
"Oh god. Oh my god, I'm pregnant…" Draco looked afraid. "I-I'm still a student for another year. Mom and dad are gonna kill me…! I-I can't…"
"Hey, hey. Settle down, Draco. Relax…" Severus soothed with a hand on his shoulder.
"I can't calm down! I'm pregnant, Uncle Severus. I shouldn't even be pregnant. Two males can't make a baby!" Draco panicked.
"Draco, I need you to calm down. Stress isn't good for the baby. Now…Breathe before you make yourself sick." Severus demanded calmly as Draco tried, but was clearly still worked up and scared. "I promise you that we will figure this out. Alright? Why don't we go see Madam Pomfrey?" Draco tensed. "She'll have far more knowledge on this than I. Yes, I took basic healing for my potions mastery, but she is a full healer, Draco. I'm sure she can shed some light."
"O-Okay. But I don't want to tell anyone. Not yet at least." Draco said.
"It is entirely up to you, my godson. For now, let's just get some answers. Or try to. If she does not have them, I promise that I will research wherever to find out how this happened." Severus vowed. "Now, calm yourself…And let's take a walk to the infirmary."
Draco nodded to the man and got up slowly, making sure to have his balance before walking with Severus to leave his office and start their way out of the dungeons and to the infirmary. Draco was silent the entire walk and Severus understood; he got very shocking news and for all intents and purposes, the news didn't make any sense. Severus, in all his years, had never heard of a male being pregnant. Much less that a child was conceived through normal intimacy by two males. Severus knew Draco was scared, he had the right to be. This was uncharted territory.
"We'll see what Professor Snape thinks about this." Came Harry's voice. Severus and Draco both looked ahead to find Harry pulling along a third year student with him. "Ah, there he is now. Professor Snape, just the man I wanted to see.
"Is there a problem, Professor Potter?" The man asked.
"Yes, actually. I was going to punish him myself for the crime, but it is also under your jurisdiction." Harry informed. "This one decided to set off a potion in my class that he stole from you. It would have gassed the entire room if I hadn't acted quickly enough. All are well, but I know it's yours and from your personal stores. He has yet to tell me why, I thought I'd leave it to you."
"Oh yes, indeed." Severus drawled in a cold tone. "I will take care of it when I'm done with this."
"Mr. Malfoy in trouble?" Harry asked, trying to keep up his teacher persona, but worried now for his boyfriend.
"Of course not. However, he did report to me feeling unwell and I'm directing him to the infirmary. If you would, please, be so kind as to hold that one in your office for me? I'll collect him after this." Severus said.
"Will do. I hope you feel better, Mr. Malfoy." Harry smiled gently.
"Thank you, Professor Potter…" Draco replied.
Harry guided the student away as Draco walked with Severus to the infirmary. Soon they arrived and there were a few others being treated.
"Professor Snape…What can I do for you and Mr. Malfoy?" Poppy greeted, strolling over.
"If you'd be so amendable, Poppy…We need to speak to you in private." Severus hoped.
"Of course, right this way." Poppy led them towards her office and put her hand on the wall to make another door appear and she guided them inside to a private room with a bed. "This room is warded for private treatments. And I'm the only one who can access it aside the headmaster or headmistress." Poppy assured. "Now, what can I do for you two?"
"Young Mr. Malfoy came to me just some time ago to report feeling sick for an extended amount of time. Now, the symptoms were odd and I ran the standard scan. The results were…Unexpected. We were hoping you could re-run the scan, just to be sure…And then maybe help us understand better?"
"What were your results, Severus?" Poppy asked as Severus gave her the parchment. "Oh, I see. Hop up on the bed, Mr. Malfoy." Draco did as he was told, laying back on the bed as Poppy performed the spell Severus had, and sure enough, the parchment appeared. "Unexpected indeed. You are indeed two months pregnant, Mr. Malfoy."
