Chapter 36

Yuuji was stunned.

Sukuna wanted his son blessed by mom? But, would she do such a thing?

She smiled to the request. "I can do that, Ryomen. But, my blessing is merely for a good life, nothing more. If you want a true blessing, one that will protect your child better than mine, you ask that of your enemy to bless your child."

Suddenly, she stared right at Yuuji.

Sukuna froze as he too turned and glared at him. "The brat?!" he demanded. "You expect me to trust the brat with my son!? After everything I put him and his own child through?"

It was odd as Sukuna protested, it wasn't out of spite… but worthiness?

"All the more reason to ask," she said gently.

Sukuna turned to Yuuji, he appeared to be biting his tongue on the matter but he eventually approached. "Pleaseblessmychild" he muttered all at once.

"A little louder for the people in the back!" shouted Toji as he grinned to his outburst.

Sukuna swallowed his pride. "PLEASE BLESS MY CHILD SO HE DOESN'T END UP LIKE ME!"

His voice roared and echoed in the domain.

"Whoa…" whispered Suiryu.

Yuuji too was stunned but then nodded. He was rather surprised himself that he knew instantly what he wanted to say and how to bless this child. He approached Chusi who held Ryoto in her arms. Yuuji gently placed his hand on his head.

"My you have your father's mind, but mother's heart. Your aunt's courage and your uncles' friendship bond. May you be as wise as Nanami, as cautious as Megumi and as bold as Nobara. May you have bonds like my brothers, be rational like Toshi, and be as loyal as Todo. Become creative like Muta, as strong as Toji as skilled as Maki. May you be as unique as Panda, and have a way with words like Inumaki. Lastly, may you have Suiryu's wit, but my appreciation of life and those of the living"

A powerful glow came off of Ryoto, and the blessing became written word entrenched into his skin. The marks vanished shortly after as it took hold and became part of him.

There was silence.

No one knew what to say as Yuuji turned to his mother. She shed proud tears of joy as Chusi wept proudly and held her son even closer to herself.

Sukuna on the other hand…

"WHAT THE HELL KIND OF CURSE DID YOU JUST PUT ON MY SON?!"
