I can't remember if i placed a timeline within this story already so I am currently working out how far along Andy will be in her pregnancy. If it's wrong its okay, because sometimes tv shows don't remember how old their own characters are :p.
So anyways lets pretend Andy's trauma was the end of September. Then the 1 month later chapter happened at the end of October, and the other chapters after that lead to the end of November which was the thanksgiving chapter. Then this chapter takes place at the beginning of December. This would mean that Andy is somewhere between 8-10 weeks pregnant, however they always use the last date of the period so she could be anywhere up to around 12 weeks (Again potentially not accurate okay, but remember I am not a doctor.)
Chapter 13 - Scan Day
A few days later, and it was a day off for the whole team. A relationship was stemming between Andy and Jack, but neither of them knew what they wanted to come of it.
Today Andy had a scan to check on the baby, and Vic and Jack had decided to go along with her.
Andy would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous, because she was. She had been quiet lucky, since leaving the hospital, with her pregnancy symptoms as she hadn't really had any morning sickness.
"What times your appointment today?" Jack asked, pouring himself some juice.
"Carina booked me in for 1:30" Andy replied, tucking into her cereal.
"Okay, I'll get Vic to get here for about 12:00 then. We could get some lunch before we go?" Jack said, sipping his juice.
"I can go by myself. I wouldn't want to burden you or Vic" Andy replied.
"Andy, I meant what I said before. We are in this together, Vic too. I think she is excited to be an aunt" Jack said, smiling at Andy.
"I know, but there's plenty of fun things you could go out and do. Like, going to the bar or bowling?" Andy said
"Bowling? Andy seriously" Jack said laughing, placing his cereal down on the table
"I don't know what you like to do anymore" Andy said, laughing.
"Well. Me and Vic are coming with you if you like it or not" Jack said, eating his cereal.
"Okay" Andy said, surrendering her hands. Then continuing to eat her breakfast.
It wasn't long before lunch time came around, and Andy, Jack and Vic were now out at a local café getting some lunch before her appointment with Carina.
"I'm just going to the toilet" Andy said, standing from her seat and walking away
"You could cut the tension between you two with a knife" Vic said, putting her fork down on her plate
"What do you mean?" Jack questioned
"Somethings brewing between you too. Like a relationship, and I don't think you know it yet" Vic replied
"What's got that in your head?" Jack asked
"I saw the two of you at thanksgiving hugging. Andy felt safe enough with you to fall asleep on you. She hadn't slept at all that day. The other day at the station, you two couldn't keep your eyes off each other. Now we are here having lunch, and there's a tension like a sexual tension if you will" Vic said, raising her eyebrow at the firefighter sat across from her.
"You need to admit how you feel to her, don't wait any longer Jack. You would be an idiot to not get together with Andy. You guys are perfect for each other" She added, still having her eyebrows raised
Before Jack could speak, Andy had returned to the table
"Did I interrupt something?" She asked, taking her seat
"We were just talking about you two" Vic said being honest, causing Andy to raise her eyebrows.
"Us two?" Andy asked, eyebrows still raised. Jack stayed silent
"Yeah, like how you guys were all snuggled up on thanksgiving." Vic replied, smirking "And how theres a sexual tension between the two of you right now." She added
"No Vic, were just-" Andy started, before Vic cut her off.
"Just friends? No" Vic said
"We are. Jack is like my brother" Andy said, lying to herself. Jack looked heartbroken, but hid it well.
"Hmm, whatever you say. Now were gonna be late, so we best leave." Vic said.
Andy had got herself checked in at the hospital and was now waiting with Vic and Jack.
"Andy sit down, your making me nervous" Jack said, motioning for Andy to take a seat.
"I'm just nervous. I have never done this before" Andy said, taking a seat.
"It'll be okay Andy, it's just a routine scan to check the baby" Vic said, placing a comforting hand on her friends shoulder.
"I know, but it's still scary." Andy replied.
"Andrea Herrera" A nurse called from across the hall, causing all 3 to stand up and walk towards the room.
In side the hospital room, Carina was sat on her chair next to the bed Andy was requested to lie on.
"Hello Andy, Vic Jack" Carina said "this is Nurse Millie Tyler. She will be with me throughout your pregnancy Andy. So any questions direct them towards either me or her okay" She added
"Okay" Andy replied.
"Right lets check on this baby shall we" Carina said, placing a gel on Andy's tummy after Andy rolled up her shirt.
There was silence for a moment, as Carina began the ultrasound. It was only seconds before the foetal heartbeat sounded out in the room
Tears immediately filled Andy's and Vic's eyes, as Carina turned the screen around to show them.
"There is your baby Andy" Carina said, smiling.
"So do we know if its a boy or girl" Jack asked
"No, it is a little bit early to tell right now. With these measurements and all the information Andy provided us with a few weeks ago, Andy is only 11 weeks pregnant. We will be able to determine a gender between 16 and 20 weeks." Carina replied "Now Andy would you like a scan photo?" She added, finishing up the ultrasound.
"Erm yes please" Andy responded, wiping the stray tear from her eye.
"Okay, I'll let you get cleaned up and I will go print them for you" Carina said, standing up to leave the room.
"That was beautiful" Vic said, opening her mouth for the first time since the entered the room
"It looked like an alien" Jack responded, causing the girls to laugh
"Hey that's my alien" Andy replied, laughing.
A little while later, the 3 had now left the hospital and were headed to Maya and Carinas for a party
Upon arrival, everyone was almost already tipsy and were heavy into the dancing stage.
"Have you guys been drinking this whole time" Vic asked, taking a beer from Theo.
"Um, yes" A very tipsy Travis responded.
"I haven't" Came from Ben and Carina, who arrived at the same time as Jack, Andy and Vic
"Okay then, this is going to be a long evening" Andy said.
"Hey Andy, how was your appointment" Ben asked, gaining the attention of all those at the party
"19, meet Alien Herrera" Jack said, as Andy pulled her scan photos from her pocket
"You can't call the baby an Alien Gibson" Travis said, smiling at Andy
"No its okay. We already made a joke of it at the hospital" Andy said, accepting an orange juice from Robert
About an hour into being there, and majority of the party was drunk
Andy was already regretting her decision of attending, as she was the only one not drinking.
"Come dance with us Andy" Maya said, clearly drunk
"Erm, no thank you" Andy replied, watching her friends have fun
Jack sat down next to Andy, and smiled at her
"What Jack?" Andy said, smiling at him
"There is something I need to say to you" He replied, slurring his words but looking nervous
"And what would that be?" Andy said, laughing at her friends drunkenness. Unaware that Vic was watching them from afar.
"I- I- I love you" Jack blurted out. "And I should of told you that sooner, but I am saying it now" Jack said, still slurring slightly
Andy didn't say a word. She just shuffled closer to him, placing a hand on his face and pulling him in for a kiss.
Vic smiled as she watched the two finally get together. While the rest of the party went silent, and gasped, before clapping for the new (old) found couple.
Jandy is the best thing that ever happened to station 19. I am gutted that Jandy and Surrera didnt work out in the show, however this fic will contain what I wanted from Jandy!
