Xander and Cordelia materialized in Halliwell Manor and Xander promptly got a face full of very smelly mud as someone yelled "Demon!"
"No! Not demon!" Cordelia yelled. "Paige! Why are you attacking us?!"
"She doesn't know who we are, Cordy." Xander reminded her, wiping mud from his face. "We met a different Paige, in another reality."
"Oh, right. Hi, Phoebe. So what power did the genie give you?"
"Flying. Which is very cool by the way. And you?"
"Fire breathing and it took awhile to break Xander of the bad breath jokes."
"I can image, guys don't change that much. So why are you guys back in this reality?"
"Our parents sent us. They said you and Piper had lasting effects from all that Magic being used in one place and it's caused complications. Complications that are going to affect Piper's pregnancy. Also that the baby is the subject of a prophecy and Magic, good and evil, is going to go down for awhile and demons are aware of the prophecy and going to come after the baby. We're here to help protect the baby until the danger is past and Magic comes back. Which will happen after the baby is born." Xander told them.
"Oh. Crap."
"Yeah, that just always seems to sum it up, doesn't it?" Xander agreed. "I need to get cleaned up."
"Bathroom is upstairs." Phoebe waved her hand. "Paige, this is Xander and Cordelia. They met us in another reality where we knew the local versions of them."
"Nice to meet you. I think you mentioned it once when you were telling me how you got the flying power. Traveling realities trying to help people while growing into your power?"
"Yes." Cordelia nodded, as Xander headed upstairs to get cleaned up. "And I'd love to tell you some stories, like how we came to be parents to a magically created hyena cub that imprinted on Xander's Magic and hyena."
"Xander's hyena?" Paige asked.
"Xander's a were hyena. He can shift back and forth at will. David may eventually be able to as well."
"Cool, never met anyone that can do that. Can he do anything else?"
"Fireballs, teleporting, telekinesis, in various ways, particle swarms. And a psychic ability that lets him see what's hidden."
"Fireballs and particle swarms, those are demon powers." Paige told her.
"He acquired them after shiving a demon in the back with a power sucking athame that attacked us all in the reality we met you in."
"But demon powers turn mortals either insane or evil." Paige protested. "Heck, our powers can turn mortals insane or evil."
"Because they're not properly prepared for it." Cordelia agreed. "But Xander's not mortal, he's immortal. As in can't die. From a race created by the gods in our reality to be the primary warriors against demon breed vampires. Which are corpses animated by demons."
"Ew, and I thought the vampires in this reality were nasty. Especially considering I nearly became one." Paige muttered.
"So where's Prue?" Cordelia asked and immediately noted the sad look that crossed Phoebe's face. "Oh, I'm sorry. I hope it was fast, 'bout the only kind of comfort I can offer."
"It was and it led to us finding Paige. You'd mentioned her but we didn't know she existed in this reality until Prue died. If we could have found her sooner, we would have. She's our sister." Phoebe said decisively.
"Good and Piper?"
"Leo's bringing her home. We had to take her to the hospital last night. She fainted. Turns out she has toximia, a blood pressure condition that affects pregnant woman. She has six weeks until she's due, but because of the condition, might not make it that long."
"If the prophecy is true, then there's a good chance she won't." Xander said as he came down the stairs. "And given the complications my father mentioned giving birth is going to be hard enough without adding demons and Magic being down. Which is going to include ours by the way, because it comes from a similar source. So we're going to have to rely on other means to protect her. Fortunately, I've got the knowledge of a soldier and a superhero in my head. Magic pranks someone played and my psychic ability allowed me to keep them."
"And Xander and I are both trained in martial arts and a variety of weapons." Cordelia added.
"I'm self taught in martial arts and have been training Paige. Between the four of us we should be able to handle anything that pokes it head into our business." Phoebe stated determinedly. "So when is Magic going down?"
"When Piper goes into labor according to the prophecy." Xander answered.
"And what is the prophecy?" Paige asked.
'When three planets burn as one over a sky of dancing light, magic will rest for a holy day to welcome a twice blessed child.'
"Dancing lights, the Aurora borealis was last night." Paige said.
"And today is a Sabbath day, the Wiccan Festival of Lights." Phoebe pointed out.
"Well, if we can confirm the three planets burning as one, it'll confirm the prophecy." Xander said. "Normally I try to circumvent prophecies, but this time we need to use the prophecy to protect Piper and the baby. Our parents are certain demons are aware of it and are going to come after the baby. Possibly today."
