Xander continued hauling supplies into the house while Cordelia and Phoebe headed back to the attic. Paige had made as comfortable a bed as was possible for Piper on the floor.

"The unicorn showed up. So did Dad." Phoebe told them.

"Dad? I forgot he was coming." Piper said, from her spot on the make shift bed.

"Yeah, he brought a surprise. Her name is Doris and apparently, she's our new stepmother."

"Oh, boy." Said Paige.

"That's what I said." Cordelia grinned.

"Stepmother? Now? He never once mentioned he was seeing anyone!" Piper protested.

"Whirlwind romance, maybe?" Cordelia offered, watching as Phoebe and Paige used the unicorn dust to create several potions.

"What all are those going to do?" She asked, curious.

"One's going to create a barrier. If any demons gets past all the rest of us, the barrier can protect Piper and the baby." Phoebe told her. "I don't know how long it'll last, so it should be used as a last resort. The rest of these will mimic various kinds of fire power. Should help with protection."

"Good, I'm going to go down and supervise Xander. By that I mean ogle his butt while he's hauling things. See, I don't like lying either."

"I need a boyfriend." Paige complained.

"Your date last week not boyfriend material?" Phoebe asked.

"No, definitely not." Paige grumbled.

Cordelia glared at the hopefully still unconscious demon. Xander had found a rope somewhere and added it to the restraints on it. Weird that it looked human. Leo arrived and he and Xander got to work boarding up the windows. When the doorbell rang again she went to get it.

"My name is Cronyn, I'm a Sorcerer. I want to speak to the Charmed Ones."

"Phoebe! Paige! Company! Possibly evil person!" Cordelia yelled and thinking, given the circumstances, that better safe then sorry was the way to go, braced herself against the front door and kicked the guy in the stomach. When he bent forward from the blow, she chopped at the back of his neck, stunning him. The guy dropped like a sack of potatoes to the floor. Phoebe and Paige could be heard coming down the steps. Xander and Leo stood nearby.

"God, I love kickass bitch Queens. That is so hot." Xander muttered.

"Now that you mention it, I do like seeing Piper do that." Leo agreed.

Soon they had the new guy trussed up and tied to a chair.

"So, what do you want?" Paige demanded to know.

"To discuss the fact that Magic is down. We've got demons trapped in the Underworld, others trapped topside."

"Poor little evil creatures." Phoebe said sarcastically.

"I'm hoping we can interpret the signs and get Magic back."

"We already know about the signs and what's going to bring Magic back." Paige told him. "And we're not going to share what we know with you. Is that all? Anything else you want to talk about?"

He stared at them. "You know?"

"Weren't expecting that, were you?" Xander commented. "You know what's going on, but you didn't expect them to. And it's thrown you. Interesting. You thought all avenues of good finding out where blocked. They weren't."

"Are we just going to keep these guys tied up here until Magic comes back?" Cordelia asked. "Because we know they're demons and we know they're going to be attacking. Letting them go, means we'll just be dealing with them later."

"She's right." Xander said. "They may be tied up and helpless right now, but the moment they're loose, they're going to try to kill every one in the house to get what they want. Can we really take the risk?"

"No." Paige said. "We can't." She threw one of the potions at the two demons and it engulfed them both, vanquishing them. "Two less threats against Piper and the baby."

"Thanks, Paige." Phoebe said quietly. "Let's let the guys finish up and go check on Piper. We've left her alone too long." The two hurried back upstairs. "I'm going to go with them." Cordelia said. "Piper is in active labor. It's moving fast and we still aren't sure if we'll be able to deliver. Taking her to the hospital just risks innocents because you know demons won't hesitate to attack even there."

"Unfortunately true." Leo agreed. "However, I did make a phone call, to Dr. Ava Nickolae, she's a doctor at the hospital and a gypsy. She's the one who's been training the girls as midwives. And she knows about Magic, as she's studying to be a Shuvani, like all the woman in her family. A Shuvani is like a priestess. She should be here soon."

"Good call." Xander complimented. "If Piper really is moving that fast we may be able to have this over with before the demons can truly muster an attack. But we need to finish boarding everything up just in case."

"I agree." Leo nodded and the two of them returned to work, while Cordelia headed upstairs to join the other women.

Leo and Xander finished boarding the windows and kept watch. A sudden scream from upstairs had them both hitting the stairs and racing to the attic. They burst in to find Piper in the grip of a very strong contraction.

"Leo, it's happening!" Phoebe yelled. "We're out of time!"

"Ava's on her way. Hold on just a little longer, Piper, please." Leo begged, getting down on the makeshift bed beside her.

"I'm going to go back downstairs." Xander told them. "Once she's here I'll direct her up here. Hang on, Piper, we're going to get you though this."
