Is it getting hot in here? :D

The Next Day...

Regina entered the cafeteria scanning the room. With her sights finally set on Emma, Regina walks past her, giving a nice whiff of her perfume.

"Hey..." Emma says greeting her like they were long time friends.

Regina raises her eyebrows with a tight-lipped smile, without eye contact.

Emma sits down watching as Regina grabs an apple from the cafeteria line.

"What is it with you two?" Lily asks as she sits beside Emma with her lunch.

"Honestly, I don't know..." Emma blushes, shakes her head looking down at her food.

"Don't fall for the act Em." Lily warns.

"I won't...I'm not." Emma clears her throat and takes a bite of her pizza.

Later that night...At Regina's house

"Are you absorbing any of this? "Regina asks noticing that Emma had been listening without any input for the last five minutes.

"Sure." Emma shrugs. Regina rests her chin on her palm looking at her, before saying, "ok then you wouldn't mind explaining how you got this answer?"

Emma shrugs, "Yeah…ok...uhh this-equals this-"

"Swan..." Regina says low.

"huh?" Emma replies awkwardly.

Regina looks into her eyes and Emma feels like dying.

"Wha-"

Before Emma could get her sentence out, Regina blows on her eyelash, lightly.

"Lint on your eyelash." Regina says as she bites the tip of her pen looking down at her paper.

Emma raises her eyebrows, licks her lips, sitting back trying not to blush. "Thanks-,"

"Don't mention it." regina quickly says.

Emma glances at Regina. She quickly looks down as Regina puts the paper in front of her.

"Ok, here's the answer."

"Ok, well I was close, right?" Emma half smiles.

"Close isn't correct now, is it?" Regina says frankly.

"I guess not…" her smile fades.

There is a silence again and Emma closes her eyes…she breathes.

About five minutes later.

"What are you doing?"

Emma opened her eyes shuffling her papers, "huh? Nothing… I'm just trying to get this part right here…" Emma showed her the problem. Regina smirks, "here…" Regina handed Emma her paper back, apparently the paper slips out of her hand, falling to the floor. Regina's eyes go to the paper.

Emma immediately reached for the paper accidentally bumping foreheads with Regina.

"Fuck…ow… oh-I'm sorry!"

Regina grimaced rubbing her head. She got up irritated. "I'll be back." Regina leaves the room. If things weren't awkward between them before they were now. She comes back with an icepack and passes Emma one then sat back down.

"Do you want me to go? I should probably go."

"Yeah. u should probably go... but you don't have to."

"Ok..." Regina rests her head on her palm staring at Emma, once again making her uncomfortable.

"So, what happened with you and the girl in the janitor's closet?"

Emma choked, "How do you even know the location?"

"I have my sources." She places the icepack on her head.

Emma waits a beat, then she places her icepack on her head. Then looks down at her paper.

"It was a dare..." Emma bites her lip with embarrassment.

"A dare?"

"Yes, I was dared to go in the closet with, my friend and just make out."

"That's it?" Regina bit her lip, side eyeing her.

"Yes..."

"Wow..."

"Don't believe me?"

"Doesn't matter what I believe. But I'm curious, was it your first time?"

Emma furrowed her brow, giving her the side eye "what?"

"With a girl."

"Yeah…I mean...yeah but it was just a kiss." Emma struggles to say. Regina smirks to herself.

"What? What was that face for?" Emma asks.

Regina shakes her head and chuckles quietly.

"And you expect me to believe that you're straight?"

"I thought it didn't matter? Anyway what is your deal with me being gay?"

Regina bit the tip of her pen, "no deal. I just know a lesbian when I see one."

"So, you think I'm some closeted dyke lesbian?"

"Swan, don't get hysterical. This is just a conversation, not a stoning."

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were the one that's hiding, not me."

Regina chuckles, "ok...back to work Swan."

Emma eventually goes back to work. Only to have her thoughts interrupted.

"On second thought, let's finish this tomorrow."

"Ok fine." Emma picks up her belongings and heads to the door then turns around.

"So why-why are you helping me again?"

"Because I want to…and because it may or may not clear my name with my mother."

"Oh…"

"What…?"

"Lily said you were trying to get me to warm up to you."

"Why would I need to do that?"

"Uh…I don't-"

"Why would I need to do that when you're so enamored with me already?"

"I-"

"Look we can do this back and forth if you want but it's quite tiresome."

"I don't –"

Regina closes her book, challenging her, "you don't what?" And then that's when Regina walks towards Emma getting in close. So close their noses almost touch.

"You don't what, Swan? Tell me." Emma is terrified but excited all the same. She stops breathing. Regina looks into her sad pathetic hazel eyes and sees right through her. She sees the want and need for her, but she knows Emma is too scared to do anything about it.

"Do you have something to say? No? Thought so-"

Emma closes the space between them by pressing her lips to Regina's.

Emma immediately regrets that. In an instant she pulled back turning away.

"I'm-I'm sorry."

Regina blinks looking at the back of Emma's head. Emma grimaced and turns to her, " sorry...I didn't mean to do that. I'll just leave before I embarrass myself more."

Regina grabs the back of Emma's head kissing her back. Emma eyes go wide. She immediately puts her hands down her lower back, pulling her into her.

"Do You feel that?" Regina whispers against her lips. Emma breathes, "yeah?" confused about what she feels other than arousal.

"You don't have to say anything..." Regina kisses her again. This time Emma participates kissing her back, holding her by the waist.

They pull apart and Regina smirks, " I think we should, slow down. And pick up tomorrow after school. "

"Ok pick up...pick up...wait schoolwork right?"

"Yes, Swan...schoolwork." Regina faintly smiles.
