A/N: Naturally, today being National Hug Day, I just couldn't help but do a one-shot for my second-favorite MHA pairing, and I hope to do more with them in the future. Enjoy!
It was a cold Sunday afternoon in Musutafu City, and Katsuki "Kacchan" Bakugo was spending it by walking out and about. Usually, he wasn't one to go out on the town, but right now, he needed to be away from the rest of Class 1-A. He didn't have any specific reason for it other than the fact that he thought most of them were idiots. Ordinarily, he would've hung around with his friend Eijiro Kirishima, but the redhead was out elsewhere with Hanta Sero. Fortunately, the citizenry left him alone. He wasn't sure if it was because of the vintage Golden Bear CHP leather jacket he was wearing, and he didn't care so long as everybody stayed out of his way. However, there was one person who wouldn't leave him alone…
"There you are, Bakugo! I've been looking all over for you!"
Kacchan ignored the familiar female voice who was calling out to him and kept walking.
"Hello!"
Finally, Kacchan stopped and spun around when the girl forcefully put her hand on his shoulder. Said hand belonged to Mina Ashido, who was wearing a pink sheepskin jacket. He gave his response thusly:
"WHAT THE CRAP!? WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING ME, RACCOON EYES!?"
"Hey, easy now! I just wanted to tell you that there's an awesome holiday going on today!"
"THERE'S NO HOLIDAY TODAY! DON'T BE AN IDIOT!"
Ashido giggled and wagged her finger. "Uh uh uh! Don't be so quick to naysay!"
Kacchan took a deep breath. "All right, if you're so smart, then tell me: what is today?"
Ashido threw her arms up. "It's National Hug Day!"
"WHAT THE CRAP!? THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE STUPIDEST MADE-UP HOLIDAY EVER!"
Ashido giggled. "Calm down, Bakugo; it's real!"
"OH YEAH!? I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SHIT A GORILLA!"
"Here, even see for yourself!"
Ashido pulled out her phone, which had a case with a cherry blossom print on it, and Googled "National Hug Day" before showing Kacchan the results.
"All right…I believe ya." Kacchan crossed his arms. "You're NOT gettin' a hug from me, though."
Ashido clasped her hands together and sparkled. "Please?"
"NO!"
Kacchan turned around and attempted to walk away, but Ashido put her hand on his shoulder again.
"I SAID 'NO'!"
Ashido smiled. "I'll buy you that mega spicy hot sauce you like if you let me hug you!"
Kacchan glared at Ashido. Then, he sighed.
"Fine."
"Grand!"
Ashido pulled Kacchan into a big hug, and despite his reluctance, he wrapped his arms around her as well.
"On second thought, I guess it's not all that bad."
In spite of the fact that Kacchan found Ashido's extreme girliness to be too much, he also found it to be very endearing. Hell, he secretly thought that she was the sexiest girl he'd ever met. Aside from the fact that she was pink, he'd also taken notice of the fact that she was one of the few – if not the only – people who didn't shy away from his explosive anger, and he considered her bravery to be a very attractive quality as well. In fact, she was the exact kind of hero he wanted fighting by his side. Besides, he found her to be extremely soft, warm and cuddly to hold, and it made him feel that much better about himself. He couldn't imagine being with any other woman.
Ashido was glad that she met Kacchan as well. In spite of his raging bull attitude, she not only found him to be the most handsome guy she'd met, but she admired the fact that he wasn't afraid to say what was on his mind. Even if he behaved rudely, she thought that his brutal honesty was refreshing. Besides, she could tell, deep down inside, that he was a very good boy and that he deserved to have someone to love. Furthermore, considering that he'd once been kidnapped by the League of Villains, she figured he could use this measure of comfort after the horrors he'd been through. While she was glad to offer it to anybody, she was especially glad to offer it to him. Eventually, she let go, but not without leaving a smile on his face.
"Thanks, Raccoon Eyes. That actually felt really good."
Ashido giggled. "Then have another!"
"No no NO!"
Despite Kacchan's pleas, Ashido hugged him again. Even if it was somewhat embarrassing, he actually did enjoy it. However, this hug didn't last as long as the first.
"On second thought, I actually like this holiday." Kacchan rubbed the back of his head and smiled awkwardly.
"See? Everybody deserves a hug!"
Kacchan shrugged. "I guess. So, wanna hang out or somethin'?"
Ashido put her hands on her cheeks. "OH MY DAMN CHERRY BLOSSOMS*, YES!"
Ashido took Kacchan's hand and skipped down the street, with the explosive blond doing his best to keep up. Even if she was the girliest girl he ever met, he wouldn't have traded her for anyone else.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
