Soul: *looking at Gundam Meister Uzumaki review* Wow, that is a lot of Gundams to be used for Knightmare Frames.
Naruko: Are you okay, Soul? You look out of it.
Soul: Try doing a car seat simulator test for a job interview and realize you failed miserably afterwards.
Lelouch: Speaking of miserable, what do you plan to do about Suzaku?
Soul: Nothing can cure his stupidity, so he'll be serving the role of target practice.
Lucienne: A bit cruel, but understandable. Still, can you tell us what he did? You know, to plan better for the future.
Soul: Nope, that's a spoiler. You'll find out soon enough.
Naruto: That makes us even more worried!
Soul: Don't you have a game to get to, blondie? Anyway, I don't own Code Geass or any crossover that will appear here. Special thanks to NorthSouthGorem and Castlecrasher009 for beta-reading. Now let's get this show on the road. Take it away M.M.!
Good tidings, everyone! I'm M.M.
By now, you have met the players of this story, and they're on a collision course to the worst day possible for the Japanese people. Naruto and Lucienne are off to bust their benefactor Mr. Ashford out of a jam, while a bunch of "freedom fighters" stole some "poison gas" from the Britannian military.
Normally these two events have nothing to do with each other, but fate works in mysterious ways. It is time for destiny to descend, and demons to run amuck.
Stage 01: The Day the Demons Cometh
[Area 11 Outskirt Highway]
It was a beautiful day in the Tokyo Settlement. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming, and a VTOL Britannia Police Aircraft was following a truck driving down the highway near the outskirts of the settlement. The pilot had engaged in pursuit after the vehicle had zoomed out of the compound, despite the blaring of intruder alarms. Along with the dead bodies found on the premises, the obvious conclusion was that terrorists had hijacked military property for nefarious means.
Worse, the stolen property was part of a project that the Viceroy of Area 11 had been personally funding and heavily investing in, so it was imperative that they get it back before it was exposed to the public.
"This is Alpha-3. Target is traveling from Delta-12 towards Delta-14 at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour!" the pilot reported while keeping an eye on the speeding truck.
"C.C.P. to all mobile units! Declaring a Code-3 from Floor-5 to Floor-2! All units take 2-8-8! I want the target intact!" his superior responded over the radio.
The pilot grunted in response as he continued to observe the truck's progress.
[Nobility Suite, Tokyo Settlement]
"Here's video footage of yesterday's terrorist bombings in Osaka. The secretary reported 59 casualties in this incident; eight Britannians and 51 others," a female anchor reported on the news, showing pictures of a tall building with smoke blowing out of a massive hole.
At the same time within the settlement, Ashford Academy's superintendent and Head of the Ashford Family, Reuben K. Ashford, was locked in a chess match with a typical rich and snooty nobleman. He was sweating, as he had come into the match confident, but instead found himself in a pickle when the nobleman turned the tables on him.
"Sources say that the bombings-" the anchor continued before the TV was shut off, just as the timer between the competitors beeped.
"You're out of time, Mr. Ashford. From here on, you will make your moves every 20 seconds." the nobleman's aide informed Reuben from behind him.
The nobleman, who was filing his nails with a feather-like instrument, just smirked in response. "Very well, I'm game." He shrugged since he already saw his win and didn't care much how it ended.
Reuben gulped and tried to keep his shaking under wraps as he reached for his next piece. Despite being a former nobility, he wasn't much of a chess player, as he'd busied himself running the family and assisting in developing the next generation of Knightmare Frames. He saw no need to gamble like his fellow noblemen, as his family was set for life in their Knightmare Frame creation.
But when Marianne vi Britannia was assassinated, his family was one of many who'd lost favor in the Britannian nobility, due to being personally allied with her; despite being the Emperor's true love, Marianne had still been a commoner at birth. But he had no regrets backing her, as she had put the Ashford Foundation on the map with her performance using the 3rd Generation Knightmare Frame and brainchild of the Ashford Foundation, YF6-X7K/E Ganymede.
And now here he was, staking his beloved Academy for half of his opponent's wealth, with five percent of it going to his saviors should they get here in time-
The doors to the room suddenly burst open behind him, causing him to jump and spin around to see two individuals entering the room. Reuben breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing who it was and wiped away his sweat with a handkerchief.
"Ah, your substitute arrived?" the nobleman asked in amusement as all eyes were on the newcomers.
"And right on time, thank the heavens," Reuben said, getting up and walking towards his saviors. "I'm sorry for pulling you both away for this again. How are things at school?"
"Things are going well, Mr. Ashford." Lucienne vi Britannia replied with a gentle smile at him as she and Uzumaki Naruto stepped out of the shadows. "No need to apologize for stepping up to assist you."
"Well well, what do we have here? School children who should be in class? You must have been really desperate to work your students to the bone, Ashford." the nobleman chuckled.
"At least we don't sit on your ass like you do, Mr. Nobleman," Uzumaki Naruto countered with a grin, as the nobleman tapped his nail filer on the table.
"I envy you kids today. You have so much time on your hands; time for regrets." the nobleman noted in an arrogant tone. "May I have the name of the one who I'll be mopping the floor with today?"
"Lucienne…Lamperouge." Lucienne introduced herself, using her mother's maiden name. She took one glance at the chessboard and whistled. "Not bad for lasting this long, Mr. Ashford. Good thing I came when I did. Any later and I don't think even I would have been able to pull you out of this mess."
"Keh, I'll say," Naruto agreed, leaning over to study the chessboard as well. "From the looks of this, it seemed that you panicked again, Mr. Ashford. There's a reason expert chess players think two-to-three moves ahead. Not only does it look like you were reacting on instinct, but your opponent was toying with you."
Lucienne smirked, her brain burning with ideas on how to turn the games around in her favor. "Nathan, when would we have to leave in order to make out next class?"
"20 minutes. Tops." Naruto replied with a smirk that Lucienne returned.
"Nice try. I rather you drive us safely on the way back." Lucienne said, playfully hitting his shoulder. "Give me 9 minutes with this and we'll be on our way." she declared as she took Reuben's seat, the latter now standing next to her. "By the way Mr, Ashford, about the thing we've discussed?"
"Understood, Miss Lamperrouge. We'll discuss it later." Reuben replied quickly.
The nobleman chuckled. "9 minutes, you say? Thanks to Mr. Ashford, you only have 20 seconds per move!"
"Wow. That's more than enough time." Naruto noted as Lucienne picked up her black King piece.
"Hmm? You start with the King?" the nobleman asked, looking amused before bursting into laughter. "I guess beauty doesn't equal smarts after all!"
Lucienne just smiled widely as she played her piece. 'Predictable.'
'Yes, this won't last long, dattebayo.' Naruto mused with a reassuring nod to a concerned Reuben.
[Ashford Academy]
Naruko, fresh off a satisfying game of Magic the Gathering with Rivalz, was having lunch on the lawn in front of the school. She wasn't alone, as she was sitting with Milly, Rivalz, and the other members of the Student Council; Shirley Fenette, Nina Einstein, and Nick Ward.
Rivalz Cardemonde was one of the few male friends Naruto had, as well as his and the other's secret collaborator against Britannia. He was a young man at 5'7" tall, with semi-long, dark-blue hair, with bangs that spread out to the side, and gray eyes. He wore the standard male Ashford Academy uniform, consisting of a black jacket with gold trim and lining over a long-sleeved white shirt, black trousers, and black shoes.
Shirley Fenette was 5'8", with very long orange hair tied in two strands into a ponytail, plus yellowish-green irises, fair skin, a slender figure with developing E-cups; and wearing the Ashford Academy uniform.
Nina Einstein was 5'5", had short dark-green hair with two long braids over her shoulders, indigo irises, and a petite figure that pales in comparison to the other girls around her, while she's also wearing the same uniform.
Nick Ward, the Treasurer, was of average height, with brown wavy hair and sharp blue eyes, and had a lean figure hidden under a particularly baggy standard uniform.
"So, where are Nathan and Lucienne?" Rivalz wondered, looking around.
"Got a text that they're out and about gambling. They'll be back before classes start back up." Naruko informed them while slurping noodles.
"Poker this time?" Milly inquired, knowing why since it's a regular thing with them.
"It's Lucienne, so you know it has to be chess," Nick said while reading a newspaper. "She wouldn't be caught dead playing a game of chance."
"Geez, they seem to forget that they're on the Student Council," Shirley noted with annoyance as she poked the air with her fork that had a small tomato skewered to it. "They're off gambling for money! Lucienne may be intelligent, but she wastes her brain on stupid things. Especially you and your brother, Natalia!" she added, pointing at Naruko. "Pulling all kinds of pranks in the school!"
"What? It's funny and we're making life interesting for everyone! Even you!" Naruko laughed, making Shirley fumed cutely as she popped the tomato into her mouth.
"Translation: 'I wished my future husband would be a serious member of society.' How adorable is that?"
Shirley gagged as the tomato went down the pipe, with a sniggering Naruko patting her back hard so the tomato would go down. As soon as she was in the clear, she shook her fist angrily at Milly.
"What's that supposed to mean, Madam President?!" she shrieked, blushing furiously.
"Well, you do have an unhealthy obsession with everything my brother does, and break whatever's near you whenever a girl is near him," Naruko answered with a smug look on her face.
"I do not-" Shirley started to protest.
"The vase from last week?" Nick cut across her sharply.
"I-I tripped!"
"I had to dip into the funds to replace it, you know," Nick drawled while flipping a page, "Do you know how much gloating I had to hear from Milly about that? When I gotta deal with her usual bullshit?"
"Still worth it to tease Shirley." Milly laughed along with Naruko and Rivalz, as Shirley hid behind her lunchbox.
"HEY!"
Everyone winced and looked to see someone stomping towards them with an angry look on her face, and they all sweatdropped when they recognized them as the leader of Ashford Academy's unofficial Disciplinary Squad, formed out of battling peeping toms.
Said leader had blonde hair tied into long, drill-styled twintails, with blue irises and had a voluptuous figure with H-cup breasts, and was wearing the female Ashford Academy uniform.
"All right, I demand to know which one of you, most likely the twins of course, have been spreading rumors that I've been forcing those caught perverted scum to, and I quote, POUND MY TUNA?!" the blonde girl yelled at them.
"Not me!" Rivalz said, shaking his head while trying not to laugh with the others.
"Well, that's the usual suspect debunked," Nick mused and raised his newspaper to cover his face, "Best look elsewhere."
"Look Miss Claire, if it really upsets you, we'll all take turns pounding your tuna, ok? But-" Milly grinned and sensually licked her lips. "Only if we get to eat it together~"
Claire was struck down with embarrassment while Shirley, Rivalz, and Nina gaped in horror at her.
"You pervert!" she screamed, pointing dramatically at her.
Naruko meanwhile roared with laughter until she collapsed to the ground in a fit of giggles.
Never a dull moment.
[Area 11 Outskirts Highway]
"Just perfect! After we finally steal this damn thing! It's all because Tamaki couldn't stick to the damn plan, and now we've got a problem!" Nagata snapped, looking at the rearview mirror to see the police VTOL.
"We told you all that he should've sat this mission out! But no, you didn't listen, especially when I said this whole thing was a bad idea!" Akiza growled while adjusting her cap, with her little sister Kallen staying silent and fuming. "At this rate, we're going to have to change rendezvous coordinates if we can't lose them!"
Nagata growled. "We'll think of something! How's Yoko doing?"
"Hold on. Yoko, come in, Yoko! Did you get the others out?" Akiza asked through the walkie-talkie.
"Yeah. I managed to- SHUT UP TAMAKI! Sorry about that. I managed to extract everyone and gave our pursuers the slip!" Yoko reported. "How goes your end?"
"We have a tail and we can't shake them!" Nagata said, "Can you get a shot?"
"I can try to get to Delta-20 near the Shinjuku border to take out your pursuer there!"
"All right, we'll stay on course!" Nagata responded.
(With Naruto and Lucienne)
"Checkmate. Good game, Mr. Nobleman." Lucienne said with a vain grin, enjoying the sight of the nobleman and his aides gaping at the chessboard. "I'll take my winnings now."
Oh, how she loved the look of disbelief and despair on the faces of nobility. They were confident and arrogant when it came to money and power, but when they got knocked down a peg, their walls of superiority crumbled into little pieces. Ironically, she was glad that Charles had stripped her of her princesshood. It allowed her to see through the eyes of a commoner, and see what assholes some of the nobility really were.
It helped her to imagine the look on daddy dearest's face when she went on to destroy everything he'd built in a few years' time.
"All those sacrifice plays, and for what? Your Pawns didn't make for good bait because you threw them away so easily to catch her off guard," Naruto noted, leaning into the nobleman's face. "Word of advice from my later best friend and her brother mate. 'Every piece is valuable, from the lowest Pawns to the mightiest of Kings, and how you move them determines the tide of battle.' You might want to hold that to heart, lest you end up bankrupt," he added, patting his shoulder before withdrawing.
"Thank you very much," Lucienne said, accepting the cheque from the aide and handing it to Reuben, who accepted it with his mouth agape. "Remember, five percent."
"After that performance, I'll make it 15 percent for finishing it so quickly!" Reuben exclaimed, pocketing the cheque. "Of course, I shall handle the other thing for you posthaste. You both should get back to school," he added as he departed.
"Wait!" the nobleman called out to the duo as they turned to leave. "I've heard rumors of the Black Queen, a girl who's beaten almost everyone in the Tokyo Settlement when gambling with nobility like myself! Is it you?"
"...Who knows~" Lucienne sang as she and Naruto left the room.
…
"Another chunk of green into the war chest. And thankfully it ended without bloodshed." Naruto said as they walked out of the elevator. "Good thing that guy had enough pride to pay up. By the way, you said you needed 10 minutes, but you finished him in less than half the time."
"He also didn't have much time to move either," Lucienne said with a grin as they walked towards the front doors. "And as opponents go, the noble are tepid. They're just over-privileged parasites who egos are enabled by daddy dearest, that's all."
"That description reminds me a lot of our resident prude Claire Harvey. Harsh, stuck up, cocky, arrogant, and thinks of herself as the Perfect Queen, like every other noble twat; which is why the tears will be so delicious once they learn what their money is funding." Naruto said, clapping his hands together and rubbing them together gleefully. "That forward operating base is coming along nicely."
"I swear, it's like playing one of those tactical video games." Lucienne mused as they walked out the front doors.
"Just what are they trying to prove by killing innocent people?"
"Those Elevens terrify me."
Before anything else could be said, the sound of people talking in heightened tones caught their attention. Seeing that they were all looking upward, they followed their gazes to the large-screen TV on the side of the building facing the one they just came out of. Both of them scowled at the report of the previous day's terrorist attack on Osaka.
'Those fools…' Naruto growled, narrowing his eyes at the footage of the smoking tower.
"We apologize for any delay to your scheduled programming," a feminine electronic voice boomed as the screen of the report shifted to the flag of Britannia. "Now, his Royal Highness Prince Clovis, Third Prince of Britannia, will address the nation."
The screen shifted to a handsome young man with long blonde hair that reached his shoulders, blue eyes, and wearing a royal purple suit with gold patterns, a white handkerchief, black pants, and long white gloves.
'Clovis la Britannia…' Naruto and Lucienne thought, narrowing their eyes, as the Prince began to speak.
"To all my Imperial subjects," Clovis addressed his audience while holding his arms up at his sides like he was acknowledging his subjects. "Including of course the many cooperative Elevens that choose to serve the Empire of Britannia!"
[Area 11 Outskirts Highway]
"We're not Elevens, we're Japanese!" Kallen suddenly snarled, watching the mini-TV installed in the truck.
"That's what you're more concerned about?!" Akiza snapped, "Ah dammit Yoko, where are you?!"
(With Naruto and Lucienne)
"Do you not see my pain? My heart was ripped from my chest only to be torn apart. The remnants are filled with rage and sadness!" he gasped, dramatically clutching his jacket as if he was suffering a heart attack.
"First, what the fuck. Second, is he having heart palpitations?" Naruto drawled.
Lucienne grimaced. "Do you want me to answer that? You know he's always been an overdramatic pompous dolt."
"However, as ruler of Area Eleven, I will not tolerate terrorism of any kind! Because the battle we fight is a righteous one, a virtuous battle to protect the well-being of one and all. Now then everyone, I would like you to join me in observance of the eight who died for justice; in the line of duty."
"A moment of silence please…" the feminine electronic voice said.
"Aren't you lot going to join in?" Bagley asked as Naruto and Lucienne got to their car.
"What? Fuck that shit." Naruto said, punching a few buttons on a parking meter that made the parking barrier retracted into the ground. "They only want a moment of silence for just those eight Britannians, not the 51 others. Such as the Britannian way of life, no need to better yourself. When you're Britannia, you're the best. You're Ichiban."
"Exactly. Besides, spilling tears over those poor victims won't bring them back to life. If it did," Lucienne paused for a moment. "..My mother, my brother, and your father would be here…"
"Well, this got depressing real fast," Bagley noted after a while.
"Yeah. It's why we're going to do what we're going to do…" Naruto murmured as they got into the Wraith. "And when Clovis becomes too much of an obstacle, well…" he shrugged as he pulled out of the parking spot and drove down the road. "We'll have to personally apologize to Laila-chan…"
[Viceroy Palace]
After the moment of silence, Clovis stepped down off the stage he was standing on, with the camera drones and microphones moving away to make room for him.
"You were magnificent, your Highness," said a well-dressed woman from the side. "One would never guess that you were attending a party while doing that."
"After all, the Viceroy is the marquee actor of Area 11. I need to change costumes quickly." Clovis replied while his aides removed his cloak.
"My, you're so self-confident." the woman praised him.
"It's all in the performance," Clovis said dismissively. "Since the media wants a charismatic Prince, I'll give them one."
"Untrue," said the man next to the woman. "Prince Clovis, our key purpose in life is to support and assist your reign in any way we can."
Meanwhile, a Britannian man was sticking to the shadows reading a booklet titled Osaka Crisis Special Presentation. He had blonde hair tied in a ponytail with a long bang that protruded off the side of his face, and indigo eyes, wearing a blue suit with a maroon turtleneck. He was a member of the media, but Diethard Ried wasn't anything like those other suck-ups.
"His reign is a pathetic sham," he muttered, as a bald pudgy man wearing a monocle ran past him.
"Y-Your Highness!"
"Hmm, a soldier?" Diethard wondered as the said soldier made his way to the Third Prince.
"Gad, how boorish of you. What's the rush?" Clovis inquired in an annoyed tone.
"I beg your pardon, your Highness, my Lord!" the soldier gasped and explained in a whispered tone.
"Not another appearance for him. I already have enough work as it is," Diethard groaned, lifting himself from the wall and turned to leave. "I can only hope it's not as dreary as-"
"You fool!" Clovis exclaimed, causing Diethard to stop and turn around to look on curiously.
"The police were informed that it was medical equipment, that's all." the soldier continued to explain in a whisper while looking around nervously. "If we scramble the army, there'll be a-!"
"Dammit Bartley! I bought you in specially to make sure things like this wouldn't happen! You know as well as I do what will happen if this gets out into the open!" Clovis angrily scolded him. "Deploy the Royal Guard! The Knightmares as well!"
[Britannian Military Complex, Knightmare Hangar]
"Lord Jeremiah!"
"Ah, Viletta. Move quickly now. They're deploying us."
Two individuals entered the Knightmare Hangar, wearing their Knightmare pilot suits.
One was a tall woman, with bluish-steel-gray hair, tied in a ponytail and bangs framing the right side of her face. Her eyes were yellow, her figure slender with E-cup breasts, and a taut and round rear; and wearing a long purple vest-coat pilot suit with gold accents, long purple gloves, a black skirt with a belt, and black thigh-high stockings and heels.
The other was an even taller man, with slick blue hair, orange eyes, and a lean frame. He wore a blue pilot uniform with the top having gold trim, blue slacks, and black boots.
"Lord Jeremiah, we need to talk," the woman named Villetta said as she caught up to him.
"Then make it fast. Terrorists have infiltrated the compound and stolen something of value to Prince Clovis. We are to work with the Royal Guard to retrieve it." Jeremiah informed her.
"Then afterward we can head to Ashford Academy," Villetta said, causing Jeremiah to stop and look at her with a frown.
"Why?"
"I had a hunch and followed it on a whim. Since it's well known that Lady Marianne was close friends with the Ashford family, I've decided to take a look at their student list." Villetta said while handing him her pad. "Here. Check the Es and the Ls."
Jeremiah took the pad and looked through the list. He narrowed his eyes at the names Nathan and Natalia Eisner, the Eisner surname ringing a bell, but couldn't place it before moving on. When he finally got to the Ls, his eyes widened at two names: Lucienne and Nunnally Lamperouge.
"Lamperouge was Lady Marianne's maiden name before she married the Emperor!" Jeremiah gasped, his voice cracking with emotion.
"Exactly! This is proof that they're still alive!" Villetta agreed joyfully. "And Eisner is the name of Minato Namikaze's Britannian father, so Naruto and Naruko must be alive as well!"
"Alert-1! Alert-1! 4th, 7th, and 8th rapid-reaction companies, as well as the 31st Air Assault Team, immediate scramble! Special Division 9, stand by for deployment!"
"You've done well, Villetta! This time, we won't fail. Once we're done here, we make for Ashford!" Jeremiah declared and handed the pad back to Villetta. "For now, let us clean up the Third Prince's mess."
"Yes, sir!"
With that, Jeremiah and Villetta got into their Sutherland Knightmares to be deployed to their next mission.
(With Naruto and Lucienne)
Naruto and Lucienne were on their way back to Ashford Academy, with Naruto paying attention to the road and Lucienne reading a book.
"So, how did the game go?" Bagley asked, aiming to start a conversation. "Did Lucienne start with the King again?"
Naruto smirked. "You know it."
"Come off it, you two. If the King doesn't put his best foot forward, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?" Lucienne said airily.
"You and Lelouch's King metaphors. You do know that real life is different from chess, right? It can only boost your mental compatibilities and critical thinking skills," Naruto told her with a roll of his eyes.
"That and every other game you kids play." Bagley chimed in.
"Naruto, the King or any leader-in-name carries a lot of morale. If they fall, the battle is over, and their army's fate is in the enemy commander's hands." Lucienne said as she flipped a page. "That's why the game ends when the King is checkmated."
"True, but real life is not restricted like chess," Naruto said with a grimace. "Just because one has taken the King does not mean the battle is over. Chess does not have the random variables that reality has."
"As fascinating as this conversation is, you may want to speed it up. Seems that the truck behind you is in a hurry." Bagley interrupted as a horn blared behind the Wraith.
"Whoa, where did it come from?!" Naruto yelled, stepping on the gas and shooting the Wraith forward.
(In the Truck)
"Damn Britannians! Watch where you're going!" Nagata snarled, turning the wheel left.
"No, not that way!" Kallen yelled while Akiza screamed. "What are you doing?!"
As a result, the truck went off down the turnpike, knocking over orange construction cones and shooting into a construction site. Nagata tried drifting to a U-turn, but it was too late as the truck crashed into a partially constructed building.
(With Naruto and Lucienne)
"Wooo!" Naruto whistled as he stopped the car to witness the dust rising from the construction site where the truck crashed. "Well, that happened."
"We were on a two-lane road. They should've swerved by us. They could've killed someone." Lucienne growled.
"Maybe it was daytime drinking. Someone had a bad day and is looking to get home as fast as possible." Bagley offered his input.
"Hmm…" Naruto hummed before noticing something on top of the truck. "Oro?"
[VTOL]
"Control, the target had crashed at the abandoned VO building construction site." the pilot reported while keeping a safe distance away. "Standing by for further instructions."
"Continue to observe. We just received word that the military will take over with General Bartley's command." the pilot's superior instructed.
"General Bartley? Him?" the pilot asked with blank confusion.
[Viceroy Palace]
Bartley Aspirus was fuming as he walked towards the exit of the building to get to the Command Center in the military compound. He couldn't believe that the project that Clovis founded and he himself led fell into the hands of terrorists, all due to the incompetent military personnel.
'We have to retrieve it at all costs. That thing…in the wrong hands…'
Code-R could not be allowed to see the light of day. The nature of the project was beyond everyone's understanding, but that wasn't what he was worried about.
It was a certain group of people on an island close to Area 11 that might personally intervene, should the knowledge spread…
(With Naruto and Lucienne)
Naruto exited the Wraith and walked over to the barrier. He squinted his eyes to see particles of light contrasting in the smoke. He focused his eyes further, just as the particles of light retreated into the truck.
"What's wrong, Naruto? Are you seeing ghosts again?" Lucienne asked as she joined him.
"There's something in that truck…" Naruto mumbled.
For as long as he could remember, Naruto had a knack for seeing the world differently from most people, and it's not due to his family's dojutsu. He noticed things invisible to the naked eye and could get a good read on people no matter how buried their emotions are. Despite what Lucienne said, he couldn't see ghosts but could sense their 'echoes,' filled with their sorrow, regrets, and other things that won't allow them to move on. Lately, he hasn't seen anything out of the ordinary and was now curious about the strange phenomenon.
"Hey! Over here!"
"Whoa, that was a nasty crash!"
"What happened? Some sort of accident?"
"Probably a drunk driver."
"It's always some moron."
"Maybe someone oughta go help."
Naruto was snapped out of his thoughts as he and Lucienne looked to see civilian bystanders comment and take pictures on their phones. They scowled, seeing no one go down to help the occupants of the truck. To those people, it was nothing but a show to them.
"How annoying!" Lucienne growled and headed down to the truck.
"Bagley, you have my authorization to auto-drive. Stay close." Naruto instructed before going after Lucienne.
"You could ask me to call the local medical facility- and they've gone to be heroes," Bagley said to himself as he activated the auto-drive feature, "Don't go blaming me if you're late to school, not that you all would care…" He followed after them with the Wraith.
…
Inside the truck, a bruised Akiza peeled herself off the dashboard, since she wasn't in a seat. Shaking her head, she saw Nagata and Kallen shifting sluggishly against the airbags.
…
Back with the duo, Naruto and Lucienne ran up to the truck with Bagley followed behind them with the Wraith.
"Hey look, the Student Rescue Squad has arrived," one of the bystanders joked.
"Hmm, why doesn't anyone ask for help?" a female bystander chimed in.
Naruto and Lucienne ignored them as they examined the wreckage. The carrier was fine, but the front part of the truck was partially buried in concrete and beam structures. The doors to the cab area where the driver and passenger were stuck thanks to the tons of metal pressing against it.
"Hey, are you alright in there?!" Lucienne called out, but got no answer.
"I don't think this is going anywhere," Naruto noted and looked towards the roof of the truck. "There's an opening on the roof. We can get them out through there."
"Ladies start then," Lucienne said and started ascending the latter.
"This isn't the time Lulu-chan," Naruto grumbled as he followed her up, knowing that she would wind up showing him her white panties.
…
Back in the truck, Akiza used her knife to deflate the airbags and shook the other two out of unconsciousness.
"Oi, Kallen, Nagata! Wake up!" she called out as they groaned. "We're sitting ducks here! We gotta go!"
"I'm up! I'm up!" Kallen growled, slapping her cheeks. "Nagata!"
Nagata shook his head to get the cobwebs out of his head. Now fully aware, he quickly grabbed the gear-shift.
…
"Oy, can you hear us?!" Lucienne yelled as she helped Naruto up. "Are you okay?! Sound off!"
As soon as Naruto made it to the top, he suddenly froze as various shades of blue taking the form of various streaks of light going down an endless void filled his vision. Lucienne gasped as she saw the same thing, her grip tightening on Naruto.
"What the?" she wondered.
"It's you and…an Uzumaki." a feminine voice echoed in their minds, sounding faint and weak. "Fate works in mysterious ways…"
"Where did?" Lucienne wondered, looking around.
"That voice came from in there," Naruto said, pointing at the opening in the roof. "What in the world are they transporting here? Bagley, can you do a scan?"
"Certainly. Give me a few-" Bagley started to say as the truck suddenly whirled to life. "Oh dear. You both might want to-"
The tires screeched before the truck suddenly backed out of the wreckage. The sudden motion of the reversal caused Naruto and Lucienne to topple through the opening of the roof and into the canister inside head-first. Naruto landed inside first and quickly managed to catch Lucienne.
"What the hell-!" Lucienne yelped as Naruto held onto her.
"I guess they didn't need the hospital!" Naruto quipped, keeping himself steady on the wall.
…
"Well, that's a unique case of a hit-and-run," Bagley noted, directing for the car to follow the truck. "Better go after them."
…
"Yeah, we are definitely going to be late for school." Naruto snorted as he looked around the container.
There were a few huge boxes, an odd capsule contraption, and…two red-colored Knightmares Frame; the last such which had Naruto's eyes widening.
"You'd think they'd have a bloody ladder on the inside too," Lucienne complained before Naruto quickly tapped her shoulder. "What?!"
"Two Glasgows," he said with gritted teeth.
"...Why?!" she hissed.
"Stop the vehicle at once!" a loud voice boomed from outside. "Surrender now and you'll get the chance to defend yourselves in court! Stop and surrender at once!"
"Oh fuck all kinds of duck," Lucienne groaned as she put a pair of technical visors on and a communicator in her ear.
Naruto looked at Lucienne, sharing the same grim look of realization. "No wonder they were in a hurry. They're bloody terrorists." Naruto drawled with a sweatdrop as he also put on some tech visors and a communicator. "Bagley, if you're there, pursue in stealth mode."
"Orders received. Boy, this has become a banner day, hasn't it?" Bagley said. "Shall I inform the others?"
"Please do- gah!"
Naruto and Lucienne quickly supported themselves as the truck swerved due to a machine gun firing warning shots at the truck.
…
"Give up now, or we'll shoot to kill!" the pilot shouted through the microphone.
"Now what'll we do? That's the army!" Nagata shouted as he tried to avoid the bullets.
"This is Yoko! I don't see you guys!" Yoko called them. "Where did you go?!"
Akiza grimaced, knowing that Yoko wasn't happy. "Detour due to traffic! We now have the army on our tail!"
"Dammit!"
"Don't worry, we can lose them!" Kallen said as she removed her cap, revealing her red hair and wearing a red headband. "That's what we're here for! Onee-san!"
Akiza shook her head before removing her own cap, showing her red hair as well with a silver accessory in her hair. "Fine. Let's deal with them quickly!" she said as the truck drove into a tunnel.
…
"You lot have just entered a tunnel that spans half a mile," Bagley informed his two Users.
"Right, so we can't jump out just yet," Naruto noted as he examined the cargo. "Do you have a location on where we are?"
"You're about to exit the former Shibuya ward and enter the boundaries of the former Shinjuku ward," Bagley answered. "Home of buzzing clubs and karaoke bars. You would think that Britannia would keep that fun stuff to themselves."
Lucienne's eyebrow twitched. "Thank you Bags-"
The door to the cab suddenly hissed opened. Naruto grabbed Lucienne and hid behind the capsule as two individuals walked through the door. Their eyes widened as they recognized the young girls with red hair, fair skin, and slender yet strong builds.
One had brown eyes, F-cup breasts, and wearing a red and black form-fitting rider style combat suit with the front unzipped, showing her cleavage.
The other had blue eyes, E-cup breasts, and wearing sleeveless ribbed-top under a brown vest-jacket with detached sleeves and hotpants; thigh-high socks, and black shoes.
'Great, it's the Kōzuki group.' Lucienne thought with an exasperated look.
'Akiza and Kallen.' Naruto thought, scowling.
In preparation for their battle against Britannia and freeing Japan, Naruto and the others had worked on intelligence gathering. They'd used stolen Britannian frequencies and their own spy network to learn about the various freedom fighters and terrorist cells operating in Japan. And in a bewildering case of circumstances, they learned that a couple of their "invalid" classmates were part of the Kōzuki Group; a group that flip-flopped between freedom fighting and terrorism.
Their group was originally led by a Kōzuki Naoto, the elder brother of Akiza and Kallen. During his time, the group had been less about terrorism and more about helping the Japanese people still living in the ghettos. They raided Britannian warehouses for supplies to help the people, barely retorting to kidnapping and blowing things up. It was after the capture and death of Naoto that the group went extreme, despite now being led by Naoto's best friend Ohgi. Nowadays they weren't very subtle in their actions.
Like now.
"Can you enter the subway via the Azubu route?" Kallen called out to Nagata while taking off her jacket.
"Oi Akiza, Kallen! Let's use it here, why not?!" Nagata shouted back.
"Fuck no! That'd defeat the purpose of us stealing the damn thing!" Akiza snapped as she and Kallen ascended the stairs that led to the Glasgows' cockpits.
"Not to mention that it'll put an even bigger target on our backs!" Kallen added.
Nagata growled, "Ugh, you're right…" he agreed with reluctance.
"Why the hell did they steal it if the consequences of its use are so dire?" Lucienne wondered under her breath.
Naruto shook his head minutely. "I don't know. Maybe they stole an experimental bomb or some chemicals? Ugh, that last part would violate the Sokovia Charter. Surely Britannia isn't that stupid."
"Love, it's fucking Britannia. What do you think?" Lucienne deadpanned before eying a communicator in Kallen's discarded jacket. "Well well well, look what we have here."
…
"Target is moving from the settlement towards the ghetto!" the lead pilot informed his squad.
"Copy that," the team member said. "Corner 'em!"
"Roger that!" the pilot said, aiming the ship's turret at the truck.
Before they could open fire, a harpoon suddenly shot from the back of the opening truck doors and impacted with a gunship. The wired projectile hit the cockpit on the ship, destroying it and the pilot in one shot.
"A Slash Harken?!" the pilot gasped in shock.
The doors fully opened, revealing two burgundy and crimson-colored Glasgow Knightmare Frames.
"Knightmares!" the pilot exclaimed in fear.
The Glasgow Knightmares hopped out of the truck and onto the road. The two wobbled a bit before finding their balance and moved to engage, gliding along the highway on their wheeled feet.
…
"Holy crap, that was bloody amazing!" Lucienne cheered as the doors closed. "The way they jump out of this moving truck and not fall tits up? They must've put some time on a simulator!"
Naruto groaned however. "This is still escalating the situation…"
…
"You fellas know full well what these badass motherfuckers can do!" Kallen yelled as she pushed a lever forward.
She and Akiza maneuvered around the gunfire in zigzag formations. Aiming, they fired off their Slash Harkins, downing two gunships with one more remaining.
"All right! One more and we're home free!" Akiza declared and aimed her Slash Harken to finish off the rest of the pursuers.
…
"Naruto. Lucienne. I'm staying close as best as I can," Bagley said as he drove the cloaked Wraith as close as he could to the battle. "If you're going to get out of there, now would be the time."
"Just keep us informed! We're staying to see exactly what these idiots stole," Naruto shot back.
"I would give you a lot of reasons why that is a terrible idea, but you're out of time," Bagley said dryly, "For you have more incoming and they're not gunships."
…
"The rest of you back off," a man's voice sounded over the intercom. "I'll take these guys."
"Oh crap," Akiza said, seeing what was coming. "Kallen!"
A Knightmare VTOL was descending towards the truck, passing the gunships. It was horizontally carrying a single purple and black 5th Generation Sutherland Knightmare Frame with red pauldrons.
"I can only assume that you dug those obsolete relics out of some scrapheap," the voice continued as he detached his Frame from the VTOL carrier. "A couple of over-the-hill 4th-gen Glasgows are no match for a Sutherland!"
Even as he spoke, Akiza and Kallen fired off their Slash Harkens at the Sutherland, but the new pilot fired off his own, aiming them in a way that they bounced off each other. He landed, spinning around, and charged at the two Glasgows.
…
"Not to mention foolish Elevens that dabble in petty thievery and terrorism!" Jeremiah shouted, opening fire and scoring a hit on Kallen's Glasgow's left arm. He gritted his teeth before adding. "And spurns the compassion of our glorious Emperor!"
He also fired his Slash Harkens again when Akiza fired her own, deflecting them again.
…
"And now the Knightmares are here! Perfect!" Akiza yelled as she retracted her Slash Harken. "There's no way Yoko can help us now!"
"Then we're gonna have to split up! The three of us can't risk being killed!" Nagata shouted over the radio.
"But…!" Kallen protested.
"Nagata, watch out!" Akiza shouted, seeing another Sutherland popping out from the highway's support beams and landing in front of the truck.
…
In the other Sutherland, Villetta aimed her rifle at the vehicle's tires and opened fire. She scowled then she found her shot way off as the truck turned down a side road that led into the old subway tunnels of the Shinjuku ghetto.
"Damn Elevens. Why did you have to choose today of all days?!" Villetta growled. "Lady Lucienne and Nunnally are waiting for us!"
She was about to pursue when an alert showed a Slash Harken shooting towards her. She maneuvered around it and fired on the offending Glasgow.
…
Akiza raised her limbs to block and was bombarded by gunfire from Villetta's Sutherland. She gritted her teeth as her mech shook from the damage.
Meanwhile, Kallen attempted to fire her Slash Harken at Jeremiah, but the previous barrage left it inoperable.
"No way! It's stuck!" Kallen cried as she furiously pushed various buttons and controls.
"Kallen!" Akiza yelled, zooming over to her.
"Second-hand junk!" Jeremiah yelled, raising his KF's blade-arm to cut down the Glasgow and disable it.
Kallen growled as she pointed her damaged limb at the approaching Sutherland and slammed down a button. The arm was ejected into the enemy Sutherland's blade-arm, smoke billowing from the ejected limb.
"Akiza-nee, let's go!" Kallen shouted as they escaped into the smoke.
…
Jeremiah looked surprised before adopting an impressed look on his face. When the Glasgow fought back the way it did, he was forced to defend after a long time of not needing to. Perhaps he'd finally found a worthy foe with the Eleven populace, even if it was an Eleven.
"I'll admit, I really like your spirit," he said with a grin. "Which is all to say, this detour might be fun after all."
(With Naruto and Lucienne)
"Bagley? Bagley!" Naruto shouted into the communicator. "Damn, we're out of range with no reception! Chalk it up to another bug we'll need to fix for the communicators!" He tapped his visor and grumbled. "At least our visors are still recording."
"Yeah." Lucienne nodded and noticed the dimmed lights. "Judging from the darkness and feeling of the road, we must be driving along the old subway lines. The driver must be heading for an exit somewhere in the ghetto."
"We'll be going into a warzone when we get out. Still…" Naruto examined the unique container. "We need to find out what this is. Whatever this is, the military is desperate enough to deploy Knightmares to get it back."
Lucienne grimaced. "Makes you wonder what else they'll do to make sure no one knows…"
"Let's not stick around to find out, eh?" Naruto said wearily as he looked around for an opening to the strange container.
[Military Base]
"Ah-ha!"
While on his way to the Mobile Command Center, Bartley was held up by the Head of the Special Corp and his assistant, Earl Lloyd Asplund and Cecile Croomy respectively.
Lloyd was a tall and enthusiastic man with lavender hair and light blue eyes with large glasses over the latter; wearing a green turtleneck with a white lab coat over it; and black pants and shoes.
Cecile was a woman with purple hair that reached down to her neck, blue eyes, and wearing a burnt-orange and black uniform with a green tie and thigh-high boots.
Right now, Lloyd was almost in a confused Bartley's face with a smug grin.
"What are you doing?" Bartley asked, as he did not want to stay with the most annoying member of the military any longer than he had to.
Not only did Lloyd get under everyone's skin, but he was also blunt with his comments. Usually, he was right, but that doesn't mean that everyone wanted to hear it.
"Looking at a man who blundered, am I right?" Lloyd guessed with an all-knowing grin.
"Why you…" Bartley growled, clenching his fist and restraining himself from throttling the scientist.
"You really screwed this one up." Lloyd continued as tanks and Knightmare Transport Vehicles passed the group by. "Terrorists came along and stole whatever it was that you and Prince Clovis were secretly working on. Retrieving it is simple, but you want to sweep up all of their compatriots in addition. Let the terrorists go and you can find their hideout too." Lloyd explained and turned to his assistant. "Congratulations, Cecile! Your reasoning was spot on!"
"I-It was nothing. I just thought it was strange." Cecile replied meekly.
"Okay, that enough! Just what it is that the Special Corp wants out of this?" Bartley demanded as he was in a hurry to retrieve that thing.
Lloyd leaned forward with a smirk. "I'm merely saying that I would like to assist with the cleanup."
"To…assist?" Bartley repeated, looking wary and confused.
"Correct, because it's data I want," Lloyd said simply, with Bartley looking unsure.
"Excuse me, but what in the world have they just stolen anyway?" Cecile asked.
Bartley blanched, knowing that he couldn't tell them exactly what it was. While he trusts that Lloyd and his assistant wouldn't blab to those people, he couldn't allow anyone to know the true nature of the project. The future of Britannia depends on it.
"Chemical weapons. In other words, poison gas," he answered, keeping his voice down.
Lloyd frowned at that. "Aren't chemical weapons banned by the Sokovia Charter?"
"Ah, well…" Bartley looked around nervously. "We recently intercepted a shipment from the Chinese Federation that had it. We were…analyzing it to break it down safely should they ever launch it."
"Uh-huh, I see." Lloyd hummed with a raised eyebrow. "Well good luck with that. Come along, Cecile. Now that we're in the clear, let's go find our Devicer."
As Lloyd and Cecile walked away, Bartley sighed and wiped the sweat from his brow.
"What a weirdo."
[Ashford Academy]
"Hmm?"
Naruko was walking down the hallway to get to class. Her phone rang and she answered it. "What's up?"
"Naruko, you might want to gather the others and head underground. Naruto and Lucienne found themselves entangled in a terrorist operation." Bagley reported.
"What the fuck?!" Naruko shrieked before clamming her mouth, seeing the looks she was getting from the other students. She quickly walked off before continuing. "Fucking hell, Bagley! What happened?!"
"The Kōzuki Group stole some kind of precious cargo from the Britannian Military. Naruto and Lucienne were heading back until the amateurs tried to run us off the road and crashed into a construction site. Naruto and Lucienne attempted to help them not knowing they were terrorists and tumbled into their truck. It was being pursued by Sutherlands until the truck went into the old subway lines in the Shinjuku ghettos, so I can't reach them." Bagley explained.
"Dammit! Prep the Command Center." Naruko seethed as she spun on her heel and ran down the hall. "I'm going to get Milly and Rivalz."
"Already did. I had to park the Wraith to do so," Bagley said. "Seriously, get another A.I. to help carry the load. I don't want to hear it if the car gets a scratch while I'm driving distracted."
"This coming from the A.I. who didn't want a stiff as a partner." Naruko snorted before spotting Milly.
"Hey, Natalia! We're going to be late for class. Where are you going?" she asked.
"Code Kyūbi." Naruko simply said, motioning for her to follow.
"That bad?" Milly questioned, looking alarmed. "I thought Nathan and Lucienne were late because they were having a quickie!"
Naruko gained a tickmark. "You would think that! Sadly, it's not the case!"
They arrived at Rivalz's classroom and waited for him to see them at the door. When he saw them, Naruko tugged at her collar nine times before walking away with Milly, causing his eyes to widen.
"Excuse me, Teach?" Rivalz called out to the teacher while holding his stomach. "I'm feeling under the weather. Can I go to the infirmary?"
"Fine, Mr. Cardemonde. I hope you get better…" the teacher sighed.
Rivalz left the classroom and followed after the girls. When he was far enough, he ran and caught up with them.
"What's going on?" he asked as they got to the elevator. "Is it about Nathan and Lucienne?"
"They ran into a spot of trouble and now they're in the Shinjuku Ghetto," Naruko said after pressing the button. "You two will be Mission Control while I get Artorias and Raiser over to them since Knightmares are involved now."
"That bad, huh?" Milly said as the elevator arrived and they stepped in. "So what's the real story?" she asked when the doors closed.
"The Kozuki Group stole something from the Military and Naruto and Lulu got caught up in it when they tried to help," Naruko said, taking out a key and inserting it into a slot. "We don't know what it is, but it's valuable enough for Britannian Sutherlands to be involved."
Rivalz looked confused. "Wait, they tried to help the terrorists?"
"For context, they didn't know who they were. They thought it was a drunk driver since they crashed into a construction site." Bagley said through the elevator's mic. "Not that I blame the driver at the time. It's quite miserable here in Japan."
"Just take us down, Bagley. Naru-nii and Lulu need us." Naruko commanded.
"As you wish. Hold on tight."
Unknownst to them, the leader of the Disciplinary Squad, Claire Harvey, had looked around the corner, frowning as she saw Naruko, Milly, and Rivalz enter the elevator.
"Without Nathan, Nick, Nina, and Shirley? What are they up to?"
(With Naruto and Lucienne)
"Damn, this thing is sealed tight," Naruto said, kicking the container. "And whatever is in here, it's not hollow. There's something solid in here."
Lucienne hummed. "So it's not chemical weapons?"
"Doubtful. There's no foul smell leaking out of it." Naruto said, wrinkling his nose, "Though if it were chemicals, a leak would probably make us puke."
"The fact that we're still in the tunnel means that we can't get a hold of Bagley," Lucienne noted while tapping her visor.
"I guess," Naruto looked over to the door leading to the cab. "We should have a chat with the driver."
He waved his hand over his face, restoring his original facial appearance. He then went to the door and pressed a button on the side, opening it.
"Akiza? Kallen? You're back?" Nagata asked weakly.
"Sorry buddy," Naruto said, a Hidden Blade shooting out beneath his wrist and pointed the blade at the driver's head. "But we're not the fire crotches."
Nagata gasped and looked over to see Naruto with Lucienne over his shoulder. "What?! Britannian students?!"
"Yeah, we're the Student Rescue Squad who tried to help you before you drove off and made us crash in here." Lucienne chirped in an annoyed tone.
Nagata tried to reach for a gun, but Naruto pressed the blade to his throat. "Ah ah ah, none of that now, Nagata-san. We just want some answers- oh shit."
Naruto leaned over and saw that Nagata had taken a hit from the Sutherland that jumped in front of the truck. Nagata's shoulder had a hole in it, making him breathe heavily as he drove with one arm. Meanwhile, Nagata took a glance at Naruto, his eyes widening when he saw Naruto's Japanese features that originally weren't there.
"Wait…you're Japanese," Nagata grunted as Naruto retracted his knife. "And how do you know my name? Who are you?"
"...Uzumaki Naruto. This ray of sunshine is Lucienne, and we want to know what the hell you nicked from Britannia!" Naruto said while taking a med-kit out from one of the seals written on his skin.
"Uzumaki?! Does that mean…the Uzumaki clan is making a move soon?" Nagata asked, hissing as Naruto tried to bandage him up.
"We were supposed to in a few years, dattebayo," Naruto admitted.
"A few years?! We don't have a few years! The Japanese are dying every day thanks to the Britannians!" Nagata snapped, turning to him and grunted in pain.
"Eyes forward!" Naruto snapped before explaining. "So is everyone else around the world. One does not wake up in the morning and decide to fight against the largest superpower in the world. It takes time and resources to build up and match their firepower, as well as build an army. We are on a schedule and it is too early for us to get involved. Plus, it's best to leave the thievery to those three Phantom Thieves plaguing the Tokyo Settlement."
"But we didn't have time to wait for them or you!" Nagata protested, turning to him. "Our intel showed that Britannia had some kind of chemical weapon that's in direct violation of-!"
"Keep your eye on the bloody road!" Lucienne screamed, pointing at the ditch ahead. "Fuck!"
It was too late, as the truck slightly dipped and jolted to a halt, nearly throwing Naruto and Lucienne into the windshield. Naruto managed to catch himself and Lucienne as the truck shook about.
"The communicator!" Lucienne yelped as the communicator she grabbed fell out of her hand. It slides across the container, just as the side door opened.
"Ah, the tire's stuck!" Nagata groaned and flipped a switch.
"A tracker?" Naruto asked before catching Nagata who doubled over in pain.
"Yeah. Our leader…Ohgi…he'll find us." Nagata grunted as Naruto set him on the ground.
"Hold on, lemme get that thing," Lucienne said as she exited the cab area.
Lucienne went over to the walkie-talkie and picked it up. Just as she did, the sound of running footsteps caught her attention. "Naruto?" she asked, turning around and instead saw a black-clad masked Britannian soldier charging towards her. "What the?!"
The charging soldier leaped up, spun multiple revolutions, and executed a roundhouse kick towards her. Screaming, Lucienne ducked to avoid the blow and countered with a straight punch to the soldier's stomach. It didn't do much since the soldier was wearing armor, and he immediately retaliated by grabbing her wrist and flipping her over. Lucienne yelped before using the momentum to plant her feet in the soldier's face. The soldier took a few steps back before feeling someone wrap their arms around his waist. With a yell, Naruto pumped his hips, bending backward and executing a German release suplex, forcing the soldier to crash on his back.
"Britannian soldier!" Lucienne breathed as the soldier kipped up to his feet. "Hey!"
The soldier charged at them again, only this time Naruto wielded his kunai in a reserve grip and met the soldier in the middle. They pushed against each other, with Naruto trying to push his kunai towards the soldier's neck and the latter trying to hold it back.
"Stop it! That's enough mindless murder!" the soldier demanded, trying to twist Naruto's wrist to disarm him.
Naruto laughed as he kept his wrist still. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but we're not with these amateurs!"
"Don't play dumb with me! I won't let you use that poison gas!" the soldier went on, ignoring Naruto's words.
"Oh fuck right off!"
Naruto used his free hand, using his family's arts and training to manipulate his chakra into his hand. In an instant, a blue orb appeared in his hand, filled with violent, spiraling energy. Naruto then thrust the orb towards the soldier, who jumped back in shock.
"You see these uniforms, dumbass? We're students that are not here by choice! I'm surprised you didn't think we were hostages first! Admittedly, we did try to help when they crashed, and that was before we knew they were terrorists!" Naruto snapped, dispelling the chakra orb and twirling his kunai in his fingers.
"The Rasengan? My god…" the soldier whispered in disbelief as he finally got a good look at the two.
"Don't bother. These are the same assholes who would sacrifice innocents so Britannia can still look strong in the eyes of the world, all thanks to daddy dearest!" Lucienne snarled, looking furious. "Tell me soldier, how much of your thoughts are still your own?"
"Naruto? Lulu?"
The duo froze when the soldier called out their names, more alarmed than angry now. Not only did the soldier know their names, but he called Lucienne by her affectionate nickname known by only those closest to her. They watched as the soldier removed his helmet, and were both struck dumb when they saw a boy their age with messy brown hair and green eyes.
"It's me," he said, greeting them with a smile.
"What in the hell! Suzaku, is that you?!" Naruto exclaimed in disbelief.
There he was, the same boy who they played and trained with back at the Kururugi Manor. He stayed behind out of worry for his father while the twins, Lucienne, and Nunnally escaped. His fate was unknown and was feared dead after the reports of his dead father, the former last Prime Minister of Japan, Kururugi Genbu. But the fact they couldn't find the body gave his friends hope that he was still alive, wherever he was. And now here he was, Kururugi Suzaku, alive and well…but…
"Oi…Suzaku, you… you became a Britannian soldier?!" she uttered in complete bafflement; not liking the complications running through her mind. Neither did Naruto.
If Suzaku was a Britannian soldier, then that would make him an Honorary Britannian: Numbers who vow their loyalty to the Holy Britannian Empire, earning special privileges and living in the Britannian Settlements. But in order to earn the title, the subjects would have to discard everything themselves, from their former nationality to their pride; and then they have to literally be Britannian. That still doesn't stop the discrimination however, even if they opted to serve in the Britannian Military, the latter being guaranteed to cut their lives short as expendable frontline pawns.
Worse, he was now in the way of the Uzumaki and the vi Britannia's revenge, and to them, he was no nameless soldier.
Suzaku nodded. "Yeah, and what about you two? You're-"
"Whoa, buddy! Hold that train of thought!" Naruto cut his old friend off. "As she said, this truck crashed before we knew what was going on!"
Suzaku raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? That's the best excuse you can come up with?"
"Oh for fuck sake Suzaku, you can not be seriously considering that we're with them!" Lucienne snapped, pointing at the bleeding Nagata.
"It's been years since we've seen each other, and you haven't changed one bit!" Naruto groaned, facepalming. "Get whatever conclusion you're thinking of out of your thick skull and-!"
The capsule beside them suddenly reacted, popping out the pod-shaped locks forcing it closed and allowing it to open with a bright golden light spilling out from the inside. In an instant, Suzaku tackled the two to the ground, with his gas mask on Lucienne's face and his spare one on Naruto's face.
The three then watched as the capsule fully opened, revealing a liquefied golden bubble that shined brightly. Contrasting it was a silhouette of a young woman who was hunched over before throwing her body back, revealing long hair that flowed within the bubble.
"Th-that's not poison gas…" Suzaku said with confusion as Naruto and Lucienne looked on in shock. "What is it?"
"Obviously a she, you dolt," Lucienne growled after she and Naruto pushed Suzaku's arms and masks off themselves and stood up.
The liquefied bubbled popped, leaving the girl wet as she opened her eyes, revealing her golden eyes that pleaded for help. She then went unconscious and fell back, with Naruto zipping forward and catching her.
'I've seen her before…twice…' Naruto thought, noticing that she was wearing the standard form-fitting Britannian prisoner straitjacket that left nothing to imagination. 'In Britannia and…here in Japan before the bombs dropped…'
"Is she okay?" Lucienne asked, looking over Naruto's shoulders with Suzaku.
"...You guys just get this off her. I'll deal with our other friend." Naruto said, handling the girl to Lucienne.
(With Akiza and Kallen)
In another area far from where our heroes are, Akiza and Kallen were resting themselves and their Glasgows in a large sewer system. Kallen's Glasgow had its factosphere extended so they wouldn't get caught off guard.
"You want to repeat that again?" Akiza asked, her eyebrow twitching.
"I'm sorry, Aki-nee! We were in a hurry because of all the confusion!" Kallen shouted and threw her ration pack at her.
"I have mine on me!" Akiza snapped back, holding up her communicator and shaking it. "What if someone else finds it and tracks us all?!"
"Calm down, it's okay. If it's still on the truck, then Nagata will retrieve it." a man's voice cut over the bickering sisters. "Besides, the Glasgow's circuits are usable. So, were we right?"
"Probably," Akiza said as she performed a maintenance check on her Glasgow. "However, we're unable to determine whether it's poison gas or not."
"What do you mean? It has to be." Kallen refuted, looking at the screen to see Akiza's Glasgow. "Why else would they send Sutherlands after us?"
"That's the thing. Like I said before we went on this mission, 'poison gas' might be code for something else entirely different; like bait for our intelligent network." Akiza said and pushed some buttons. "Hell, with the size of that capsule, anything could be in it…"
"And Nagata?" the man's voice asked with concern.
"Not sure. Nagata might have made it underground." Kallen replied with hope in her voice.
"All right. Just hang tight. Yoko is on her way to get you both."
(With Naruto and Lucienne)
Naruto was tending to Nagata, whose injuries were more severe than they thought. Nagata practically had a hole in his shoulder from the Sutherland gunfire and needed emergency treatment. Sadly, Naruto didn't know much in terms of advanced Medical Jutsu, and even if he had mastered his father's Hiraishin, using the latter would exaggerate the wound to the point that it'll kill him. For now, Naruto just wrapped the wound up while trying to figure out what to do.
"Just leave me, Uzumaki. Take your friends. It's obvious that I'm not going to make it." Nagata grunted, his breathing becoming erratic.
"Oi, don't say that. You're going to be fine." Naruto told him, saying it out of comfort.
"Heh, you and all both know that isn't true." Nagata chuckled before coughing up blood. "At least," he turned his head to the side. "I'll be with my family."
Naruto followed his gaze and saw a photograph of Nagata with a woman and a child.
"Your wife and kid?"
Nagata nodded as he took and held the picture. "Killed when Britannia bombed our home."
Meanwhile, Lucienne and Suzaku were outside the truck attending to the mysterious girl they found.
"All right, spill it Suzaku. Poison gas? This girl?" Lucienne questioned, working to unfasten the belts around the girl's mouth.
"Hey, it's what they told us in the briefing, I swear!" Suzaku replied, unzipping the bottom part of the suit that covered the girl's feet.
Lucienne paused. "Wait, if they lied to you and your fellow soldiers, then…" Realization dawned on her as she looked crestfallen. "Oh crap-!"
On cue, a spotlight was shown on them, illuminating the tunnel. Lucienne and Suzaku looked to see a squad of soldiers dressed differently from Suzaku. They had red uniforms and hats with assault rifles, with the man in the middle wearing a General's attire and a black and gold cape draped over his left arm; obviously being the leader.
'That's the Royal Guard!' Naruto thought as he looked around the corner of the truck's side door.
"The Royal Guard's here," Naruto whispered to Nagata, who groaned. "And how did they find the time to set up those spotlights before revealing themselves?"
"Fucking monkey. Being an Honorary Britannian will not excuse you!" the General of the Royal Guard snarled in disgust.
"But sir!" Suzaku protested, running up to the man. "I was told this was poison gas!"
"How dare you question orders!" the General scolded him harshly.
"Oh fuck us all sideways…" Lucienne whispered as she surveyed the situation with her visor. 'The Honorary Britannian soldiers were told that this girl was poison gas, and they'll have no problems killing them should they find out the truth. That's why they sent in a disposable unit so they could easily keep it quiet.' she thought and looked down upon the girl. 'But what was Britannia doing to this girl?! Why does her existence pose a threat to Suzaku's superiors if unleashed? She's no popular idol that I've ever seen!'
"However, in light of your outstanding military achievements, I'm going to be lenient," the General said, withdrawing the harsh tone and handed Suzaku a handgun. "Private Kururugi, take this and execute the terrorist."
Lucienne flinched as Suzaku looked back at Lucienne. The latter spotted Naruto behind the corner of the truck's container door, with the blonde quickly shaking his head.
"She's not a terrorist!" Suzaku said, looking at Lucienne and back at his superior. "She's a civilian who got caught up in all this!"
'I think he knows that and doesn't care.' Naruto thought, sweatdropping.
"You insubordinate little…" the General growled, narrowing his eyes. "That's an order! Didn't you swear your loyalty and life to Britannia?!"
Suzaku nodded. "Yes, I remember my oath, but…" he shook his head. "I can't."
"What?" the General asked in a cool tone.
"I won't do it, sir. I won't shoot a civilian. I can't follow that order, sir." Suzaku said, turning around and smiling at Naruto and Lucienne.
"ARE YOU THAT THICK, SUZAKU?!" Lucienne shouted loudly while glaring at the General. "How can you not see this?! It doesn't matter if we're civilians or not! We witnessed too much and they're going to kill us all to silence us!"
"You see that, Private Kururugi? A fine example of how Britannians are more intelligent than filthy Elevens like yourself." the General smirked as he pressed his personal handgun in Suzaku's side.
*BANG*
"SUZAKU!" Lucienne and Naruto yelled as Suzaku fell to the ground in a heap, not moving.
"Well, looks like we have another one back there. No matter. Not a good day for the two of you to cut class," the General mused after noticing Naruto. "Collect the girl. After you've secured her, kill the students."
"Yes, my Lord!" the Royal Guard chanted and moved forward.
Lucienne gritted her teeth as the girl opened her eyes.
"Shit!" Naruto was about to move when Nagata grabbed his wrist. "Nagata?!"
"Uzumaki Naruto, I understand what you mean by waiting to build your forces, but our fellow Japanese are dying. Please, promise me, no more victims like my family." Nagata said weakly.
"But…" Naruto protested as Nagata squeezed his wrist harder.
"I need to hear you say it!" Nagata growled with pleading eyes.
Naruto heard Lucienne's back hit the truck and nodded his head furiously. "Alright, I promise! I promise that the Uzumaki clan and I will free Japan from Britannia sooner rather than later!"
"...Thank you," Nagata said and handed him the picture of himself and his family. "If you see Ohgi, tell him I'm sorry. Now go! You don't want to be caught up in my surprise." he hissed, pushing Naruto back, and reached towards the compartment.
"Wait, what are you-" Naruto started to say before paling; seeing Nagata's "surprise". "Oh."
"Death to Britannia…" he said, flipping a switch while smiling at the picture in Naruto's hand.
"Godspeed!"
Naruto flash-stepped in front of Lucienne and the girl, shocking the approaching Royal Guard.
"We gotta go!"
"Japan, Banzai!" Nagata declared with his last breath, punching a red button.
Naruto grabbed the girls and flash-stepped away, leaving the Royal Guard with an exploding truck, with the smoke rising above the ghetto.
[Ashford Academy - Underground Command Center]
"Have you managed to contact them yet?" Naruko asked as she put on her Cypher outfit in the restroom.
"They're still in a dead zone. They must still be in the subway system." Bagley said. "As soon as their signal comes up, I'll call them."
"Negative!" Naruko said sharply. "If they're being pursued, then your ringing them will give away their position! If they have their Visors on, then access them to see what they're doing."
"All right, but if they're boning, it's all you."
Naruko snorted as she exited the restroom in full gear. She walked over to the huge monitor, where Milly and Rivalz were.
"None of the news outlets are reporting anything about terrorists, but there is some chatter about the Britannian Military beginning to cordon off the area surrounding the Shinjuku Ghetto," Rivalz reported while listening in on a police scanner. "The Knight Police are clearing out the highways and redirecting traffic around there."
"That's an awfully extreme response to just simple cargo being stolen. They never did that when you were stealing from them." Milly noted with a frown.
"That's because they never caught us in the act, and learned about it too late," Naruko said while grabbing a briefcase. "Milly, are Raiser and Artoria ready to launch?"
Milly nodded. "Ready and waiting. I only hope you don't have to use them to fight. You know how you-know-who gets when you go overboard."
Naruko just stared at her. "That…is up to Britannia. Just keep me informed." Naruko said and started to leave. "Bagley! Can you hack Britannian comms?"
"I already have a Spiderbot scurrying to the Royal Mobile Command Center it just spotted."
Naruko stopped and looked at the screen. "The Royal Mobile Command Center?! That means…Clovis is personally overseeing this?!"
[Shinjuku - Royal Mobile Command Center]
The Spiderbot successfully infiltrated the MCC. It crawled through the vents until it reached the main area where Prince Clovis was sitting on his throne and Bartley was overseeing the operation. From there, it planted itself against the metal surface and started transmitting a signal that allowed Bagley to hack into Britannian communications so the others could listen in.
"They got away?!" an outraged Bartley snapped, slamming his fists on the command table. "And you call yourselves the Royal Guard?!"
"Uh, forgive me, my Lord. The blast was mainly directed upwards, but-"
"Why the hell do you think I only told you people about this?!" Bartley cut him off angrily.
"W-We'll continue the investigation."
"What exactly happened?" Clovis asked, looking bored yet annoyed as he leaned his head on the back of his hand.
"We found the target, but the soldier who discovered it had seen the target, so I had to silence him. A couple of Britannian students were there as well. It ties into the social media footage of two students trying to help the occupants of the crash not knowing they were terrorists, so basically they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, even if they might have been taken as hostages. We moved to eliminate them and secure the target, but the truck exploded. We lost them in the smoke."
Clovis sighed. "Understood. That only means that the plan shall move forward to the next stage."
Bartley looked horrified. "B-but your Highness-!"
"If knowledge of her gets out, I'll be disinherited. Worse, despite the ceasefire agreement, we know full well that they will jump at any excuse to fight us again. Tell them back home that we're carrying out a planned urban renewal here." Clovis said as he stood up.
"Your Highness, I must insist! If you go through with this, then this will definitely give them a reason to enter conflict with Britannia again!"
"You're all sworn to silence then. Besides, we have the media on our side, so they'll be in the dark as the rest of the world. And so, as Clovis la Britannia, Third Prince of the Empire, I command you. Destroy Shinjuku Ghetto! Leave no one alive!" he ordered, holding his hand out dramatically to emphasize his point.
"Yes, my Lord!"
[Ashford Academy - Underground Command Center]
"CLOVIS, YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Naruko screamed before taking off to the hanger area.
"T-they're not s-s-serious, a-are they?" Rivalz stammered, looking mortified along with Milly. "They can't…get away w-with that!"
"Really Rivalz? A superpower nation that dominates almost the whole world and strips their conquered territories of everything; is not capable of getting away with mass genocide against the populous that's not their race, and can easily cover it up with the media they have constantly bent over?" Bagley said dryly.
Milly pounded the terminal with her fist. "Dammit! Where the hell is Naruto and Lucienne?! They need to know!"
Naruko arrived at the hangar, where her and her brother's Knightmares were stationed in their Flight Mode. She attached the suitcase to Raiser before leaping onto her Artorias.
"Alright, ready to go!" Naruko said, starting up the ignition sequences for Artorias.
"I synced up the Raiser with the Artorias. It'll follow your movements until Naruto puts his key in," Bagley informed her.
"I don't think I need to give you a mission briefing, Naruko! Just find Lucienne and Naruto and stop the massacre!" Milly advised her. "We'll keep an eye on things here!"
"I'm also capturing footage from the Knightmares and the soldiers' helmet cams. It's graphic and…oh god, how could they do this?!" Rivalz asked weakly, sounding sick. "Those were kids! They're not even armed!"
"I'M GOING! ARTORIAS AND RAISER, LAUNCHING IN STEALTH MODE!" Naruko screamed, shooting out of the hangar.
[Shinjuku]
Chaos and death descended upon the Shinjuku ghetto. Sutherland Knightmare Frames bombarded buildings with explosives and was joining the ground soldiers in killing the Japanese people. Adults, children, elderly, no one was spared. The soldier even went as far as checking every room to personally execute their targets. If they weren't killed by bullets, the falling debris crushing them would do the job.
"The enemy is garbage that could never hope to become even Honorary Britannians! Wipe out every last one of them!" a commander ordered over the ratio.
In one of the Sutherland Knightmare Frames, Jeremiah was dumbstruck.
Despite being of the Purist Faction, he still had his honor as a knight and would never raise arms against those who can't defend themselves, even if they were Elevens. This was practically a massacre, and no matter how powerful Britannia is, it would put them in a bad light if this accident ever saw the light of day. As a former guard with Villetta at the Aries Villa who guarded Marianne vi Britannia, this was wrong.
"They may be Elevens, but they can't even defend themselves!" he fumed with the radio off. "Even if it is just poison gas, this won't let us find it quicker! Just what is Clovis playing at with this meaningless genocide?!"
"Supervisor Jeremiah," a commander spoke to him over the radio. "General Bartley requests that you take command of-"
"Bartley has staff officers!" Jeremiah shot back and ended the line, before opening a private line. "Villetta!"
"Jeremiah! Are we really doing this?! I don't want to meet with Lucienne and Nunnally with the blood of innocent Elevens on my hands!" Villetta said shrilly.
Like Jeremiah, Villetta was a Knight with honor who also worked as a guard for the Aries Villa. Originally she found advancement difficult due to certain aspects about her until she was personally scouted by Marianne due to her seeing potential in her. Viletta was forever grateful for Marianne being there for her, and like Jeremiah, felt gutted when Marianne was killed on her watch.
"Neither do I, which is why we're going to hunt for the terrorists and whatever they stole. That's the only way we can end this one-sided massacre!"
"Roger that!"
[Subway]
Naruto and Lucienne ran down a former mall area of the subway line, with the green-haired girl trailing behind them. It didn't take a genius to realize what was happening with all the explosions, gunshots, and screaming sounding off behind them.
"Dammit! Just who and what the hell are you?!" Lucienne shouted behind her with tears in her eyes. "All of this chaos is your fault, isn't it?"
"Lucienne, calm down!" Naruto ordered.
"How can I?! Those Royal Guard fuckers killed Suzaku, and now they're killing everyone up there!" Lucienne shrieked back. "How did this all go so wrong?!"
Suddenly, the girl tripped up, catching her foot on a stone and causing her to crash on the ground.
"Aw come on! Watch where you're going!" Naruto scolded the girl, running over to pick her up. When he was close, he frowned when he saw a red mark behind her parted bangs. "Are you bleeding?"
He brushed back her hair before recoiling, his eyes widening in horror. Instead of a bruise or a bloody gash, the girl had a red sigil shaped like a bird on her forehead.
"Lucienne, she's a Code Bearer!"
"A Code Bearer?! Her?!" Lucienne gaped, the wheels in her head going into overdrive. "Wait, if she's a Code Bearer, then is Britannia trying to get Geass?"
"Lucienne, they were trying to replicate her Code." Naruto realized while facepalming "And if they replicate her Code~..."
"An immortal Holy Britannian Empire…" Lucienne moaned, falling to the ground. "Fuck."
"Lucienne, we can't let Britannia get ahold of her," Naruto said while picking the girl up in a princess-carry position. "Let's go!"
"Dammit Naruto, you don't have to keep saying my bloody name! I get the situation we're in now!" Lucienne snapped at him as they started running again. "Geez!"
(With Naruko)
"Now what?!" Naruko growled as her phone rang.
She checked the caller ID and paled under her helmet.
'Nines'
"Dammit, not now Four-Eyes!" she whined and sent the call straight to voicemail to focus on driving.
[With Naruto and Lucienne]
"Finally, an exit," Lucienne sighed in relief as they reached a set of stairs that lead to an abandoned warehouse. "That maze sucked."
"You two wait here and keep quiet," Naruto whispered to them. "I'll check to see if the coast is clear"
Lucienne nodded and put her hands on the girls' shoulders.
Naruto crawled up the stairs and poked his head out. At the same time, the sound of gunfire echoed through the warehouse, making him stop in his tracks. Taking a peak, he saw a body fall to the ground and the Royal Guard in the building.
"Fuck." he muttered, retreating back at little.
"Report." the General said as he walked into the warehouse.
"We found only Elevens here, sir." one of the Royal Guard subordinates said.
The General let out a frustrated growl. "Are you sure? That exit comes out here?"
"Yes, sir," the subordinate confirmed. "It matches up with our map of the old city."
Naruto turned back to Lucienne and the girl, mouthing 'Go back'; before hearing the cry of a frightened child. Naruto gasped, turning until more gunfire was heard, followed by silence.
A look of horror and despair was shared between the Uzumaki and the vi Britannia. Those Royal Guard had just killed a child, a defenseless and scared child. Worse, they had the power to save that child, but they couldn't. It was then that they realized that this is what happens when they wait.
People die.
Children die.
The elderly die.
The defenseless die.
EVERYONE dies.
And Britannia gets away with it scot-free.
Before their emotions overwhelmed them, a phone ringing knocked them out of the darkness. To their horror, it was Naruto's phone ringing, with the Caller ID showing 'Shirley'. The ringing was so loud it echoed throughout the warehouse, and to make matters worse, the Royal Guard had not cleared the warehouse.
'Impeccable timing as always, Shirley!' he growled as he sent the call straight to nowhere.
[Ashford Academy]
"Uh?" Shirley gaped as the line went dead. "That jerk hung up on me! I can't believe it!" she shrieked. "When you get back, you're so dead!"
[Shinjuku - Warehouse]
When things go from bad to worse, the next phase is from 'fucking terrible' to 'goddamn nightmare'.
Thanks to Shirley having terrible timing, Naruto and Lucienne were both pushed into a wall, with the Royal Guards aiming their rifles at them. Before they got to them, Naruto re-upped his facial genjutsu before being grabbed. Thankfully they still had their visors on, as they were still recording. The Code Bearing girl tried to make her way towards them, but she was stopped.
"What an appropriate location for a couple of terrorists to meet their end." the General boasted as his targets regained their balance against the wall.
"You fucking scum!" Lucienne snapped back, her eyes ablaze with fury. "How could you?! That was a defenseless child! This isn't a war, it's a massacre!"
"All's fair in love and war. Besides, that worthless monkey should be reborn as a mighty Britannian than a filthy Number. Still, you two did well for Britannian students, but it's to be except since you're both Britannians." the General mused as he raised his gun at the two. "Unfortunately for you my clever young friends-"
"Fuck you! Big men cornering defenseless students with a fucking firing squad," Naruto cut across him, his pupils turning to slits. "Then again, it's to be expected of cowards like you. What's wrong, didn't get enough of your mommy's tit when you were brats?"
Since Naruto and Naruko lived in a Britannian environment and lived among Britannians, they picked up a few unique insults. Then again, it was his one-fourth Britannian blood speaking out in defiance since the Royal Guard were a bunch of murderous assholes.
"You disrespectful little punk!" the General snarling, aiming his gun directly at Naruto. "Surely you should know who you're talking to!"
"Yeah, a bunch of dickless wonders who kills innocents like they're meaningless NPCs in Grand Theft fucking Auto," Naruto said while discreetly cracking his knuckles with his hands sparking.
"You're no Royal Guard, you're Clovis's number one Royal Cunts, who has a one-way ticket to Hell when you kick the bucket!" Lucienne added while preparing to retrieve a kunai stored under her sleeve.
"Insolence like this is why none of you have no future!" the General seethed, now aiming at Lucienne and pulling the trigger.
Before Naruto and Lucienne could strike at the last second, the mysterious girl managed to free herself of the restraints and her captives.
"NO! YOU CAN'T KILL THEM!" she screamed, rushing over and spread her arms out in an attempt to protect them, just as the gun was fired.
The bullet hit the girl dead in the center of her forehead where the red insignia was. Her eyes widened as she crumpled to the ground, with Naruto catching her.
"No!" Lucienne cried out coming to her side. "You fucking trigger-happy assholes!"
"Hmph, what a shame. Prince Clovis's orders were to bring her back alive if possible. Oh well, nothing can be done about it now." the General mused as if it wasn't a problem. "The Royal Guard found the terrorist hideout and killed them all. Regretfully, the female hostages had already been tortured and raped to death. Makes for a good story for our superiors, don't you think kids?"
Naruto snarled. "With a fucked up mind like that, we think you should be a foot short!"
"No way you're making my sister an only child!" Lucienne hissed under her breath.
Just as Naruto channeled chakra into his arm to summon his signature weapon, and Lucienne activated her Hidden Blade, the two felt a hand on their wrists. They both looked down to see the mysterious girls' hands on them before they blacked out.
…
The next thing they knew, the world was dissolved into various shades of blue, as if they dove into a very bad acid trip. They couldn't move as they were restrained by cyan-colored alien strands as they fell into a blinding bright abyss.
"Ah man, I think we just broke rule number 371: Never eat any of Jill's snacks!"Lucienne cried, her voice echoing freaking out overseeing multiple outlines of herself and Naruto.
"You idiot! Jill's back at Valhalla running the training camps! This is something else entirely dattebayo!" Naruto shouted back at her before finding himself and her falling into the cerulean abyss again.
"You don't want it to end here, do you?" the voice of the girl echoed around them, outlines of her filling their vision. "You appear to have a reason for living."
"It's the Code Bearer!" Lucienne realized, then replying as they flew between two worlds with white feathers surrounding them. "Of course not! If you haven't interfered, it would've been off with their heads!"
"Let me guess, you're going to give us a Geass in exchange for some kind of contract, right?!" Naruto guessed as multiple images assaulted their minds. "We don't need it, but we'll take it since you insist!"
"Aww, now you've taken the fun out of it. Then again, this is an Uzumaki and a vi Britannia I'm dealing with, so why am I even bothering?" the girl's voice echoed exasperatedly. "I'm going to assume that you two know everything about the ups and downs of Geass since you called me a Code Bearer, so I'll skip over the usual jargon." her voice drawled as images of Geass symbols carved into various locations flashed through the duo's minds, followed by images of planets and galaxies, then of individuals wearing white robes with Geass symbols on their skin. "Do you want the Power of a King, or do you not? All I ask is that you make my one wish come true. I advise you to make your decision now before you both are killed."
"But what exactly is your wish-!" Naruto called out as a cluster of golden light flashed through their eyes.
Naruto and Lucienne now found themselves on floating ruins with dawn's light over the sky. They found several individuals in black and maroon hooded robes; with the man in the middle making their blood boil once they recognized him.
"Charles zi Britannia!" Lucienne spat out in pure rage.
"A convergence with the Ragnarök Connection? So the myth is beginning once again?!" his voice boomed as he held a golden chalice up high in the air.
"Is that…the Holy Grail?"
"The Sword of Akasha?! The Ragnarök Connection?!" Naruto repeated, freaking out. "That means… He's after the Thought Elevators! Worse, he is working with the Geass Order! "
"That's why he's taking over everywhere! It must mean he has a Geass too!" Lucienne yelled in complete frustration. "This future battle against Charles has become an Instrumentality-level crisis!"
Naruto gritted his teeth. "If that's the case, then I'll fight Geass with Geass! Oi, Code Bearer! I accept that contract of yours, dattebayo!"
"But you already have the Shar- never mind! You're not the only one accepting the contract! I accept the contract along with its terms and conditions!" Lucienne yelled before everything went black.
…
Naruto and Lucienne then found themselves in a black void, with orbs of blue light rising from the ground. The two looked around before several golden cards orbited around the both of them, each with a different image.
A man covered in classic armor holding a broadsword.
A lady archer holding a bow with an arrow notched.
A man with a feathered hat holding a spear.
A knight riding a carriage with reins in their hands.
A robed man with a staff in one hand and a book in the other.
A topless man in a skull mask with two daggers.
A thin man halfway through his transformation into a beast.
A heavenly saint with a sword in one hand and scales in the other.
A long-haired prisoner bounded by chains.
A couple of jesters both facing opposite directions vertically.
A robed hooded figure with an alien design.
After examining the cards floating around them, Naruto and Lucienne looked at each other in confusion. Shrugging, they reached out of a random card that floated in front of them. Naruto ended up grabbing the card with the rider, and Lucienne had the one with the man with the spear. Once they grabbed them, the other cards not chosen sank themselves into their bodies, with their chosen cards shining bright, and figures materializing.
"What is happening?!"
"I recognize you as my Master, Naruto Uzumaki. Feel free to command me as you desire. I will do everything in my capability to see your wishes come true."
"What is going on?!"
"A'm fae th' Land o' Shadows. Ah jalouse ah shuid ca' ye mah Master, Lucienne vi Britannia."
…
"The Holy Grail has been found. That means…!"
"Good to see you again. We have a lot to catch up on, my old Master~"
…
Coming back to reality, Naruto and Lucienne saw the girl's hand go limp, with her blood leaking from the back of her hand. They then felt foreign energy coursing through their bodies before focusing in their right eyes that felt tingly. Shaking it off, they stood up to face the Royal Guard.
"Hmm?" the General frowned, noticing their demeanors completely changed.
"Say, before you go all trigger-happy again, I got a question for you fine gentlemen," Lucienne said, all fear and anger eradicated from her voice as she covered her left eye with her right hand. "How should an exiled former Britannian Princess who doesn't mind her own country being razed to the ground live her life?"
The General raised an eyebrow. "Are you some kind of delusional radical?" he asked, shrugging off the first part of the question, yet felt that something was off.
"You could say something like that," Naruto said while using his hand to make a swiping motion across his face, revealing his Japanese features and whisker-marks much to the Royal Guard's shock. "I can only wonder what your reaction would be when you realize that the people you're trying to silence are of the vi Britannia line and the Uzumaki clan? It would spell the death sentence of Britannia, not that it matters."
"An Uzumaki? Here?! That's impossible!" the General said in fear, his arm shaking along with his gun. "And a vi Britannia! You're all supposed to be dead along with that commoner bitch!"
"Rumors of our demise were greatly exaggerated; and here we are, dear General. And over these past several years, we worked to go to war with Britannia!" Lucienne hissed, removing her hand from her left eye and revealing a flapping red Geass insignia within it. "So go ahead, shoot! Your opponents are just a bunch of schoolchildren, or have you finally realized that the only ones who should kill are those who should be prepared to be killed, eh?!"
"You bitch! Kill them! Kill them now!" the General roared.
He and his subordinates opened fire on them, just as Naruto summoned his katana, stored in a unique sheath. His newly acquired Geass flashed red and flapped as he activated it. He frowned when his surroundings went dim, with the Royal Guards being seen with a glowing red aura, and the General himself glowing a yellow aura.
'I see. So the ones in red are just mooks, while the General himself has some information of interest…' Naruto thought, partially pushing his katana out of its sheath with his thumb.
Before he could do everything, Lucienne's Geass flapped as she held her hand out. The bullets that threatened to tear their flesh apart suddenly slowed in their tracks before stopping completely in front of the two. When the firing stopped, the Royal Guard stood dumbfounded at the bullets just standing stationary in the air.
Lucienne was surprised herself, as she reached out and grabbed a bullet. Her surprise turned to child-like fascination as she examined the bullet, her Geass still shining red. She then dropped it, and blinked, deactivating her new power and causing the bullets to drop harmlessly onto the ground.
"Woah." she simply said, before gripping her knife and adopting a bloodthirsty grin on her face.
"H-How did you do that?!" the General demanded as his subordinates scrambled to try and reload their rifles.
"Fuck you, that's how," Lucienne said while flipping them off. "Actually, why don't you tell them, Naruto-kun- you know what? Scratch that, since they're all going to die anyway."
Naruto scoffed. "Indeed, so why don't we settle this in a civilized manner. After all, as the legendary Kingsman taught the Roninman: Manners…Maketh…Man." he cited, using his thumb to push up his katana again and smirked at the terrified General. "Tell me General-san, do you know what that means?" he asked, smiling wide as his eyes now became like a fox's.
The Royal Guard didn't answer, instead taking a step back with all the bloodlust now radiating off the two schoolchildren.
"Then…" Naruto closed his katana into its sheath again with a resounding click. "Allow us to teach you cunts a lesson."
A second after the click, a Royal Guard member found his head rolling off his shoulder and went splat on the ground, with his body following seconds later. The rest of the Royal Guard looked mortified at the sudden death, turning back to find Naruto and Lucienne right in their faces.
"Well fellas, you wanted to kill us. So are we gonna stand around all day, or are we going to kill each other?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow and holding up a Rasengan in his hand. "Let's not stand around all day now. Who's first?"
One of the Royal Guard let out a strangled yell, pointing his rifle at Naruto and opening fire. Before the bullets could hit true, Naruto disappeared in a wisp. In the next millisecond, the Royal Guard member thought no more as Naruto reappeared in front of him and ejected his Hidden Blade beneath his chin; with the blade going through the mouth and into the brain. The rest of the Royal Guard opened fire, but the bullets froze in place after traveling one meter out of the chambers.
"So they don't have to be aimed at me," Lucienne noted with her Geass activated. "Good to know!"
Some of the Royal Guards charged at her to butt their rifles against her head, but she ducked while pushing a button on her knife, making its blade extend. Shooting up, she slashed her assailants in their throats and chests, the blade tearing through their bulletproof armor and rendering them a mean case of death.
Naruto used Flash Step, zipping around the other Royal Guard that tried to batter him with their guns. Since their bullets could be stopped by Lucienne's strange power, they had no choice. But unfortunately, they fell to Naruto's speed and deadly strikes. After battering them with redirecting counters and using their moves against them, Naruto pressed a trigger on his sheath, causing it to shoot out a red-color blade with electricity sparking off it; the hilt rebounded off the General's head, knocking him back for a loop.
The blonde then caught the hilt, unleashed a flurry of strikes, and sheathed his blade, cutting the opposition into bloody confetti. One brave soul managed to get a shot off, but Naruto spun on his heel and cut the bullet clean in half, with the two fragments finishing off two dying Royal Guard members on the ground that Lucienne dealt with.
Speaking of Lucienne, she managed to nick a handgun and emptied a clip into the abdomen of her target before swiping her knife across his throat, ending him. However, she failed to notice the second-to-last Royal Guard subordinate trying to grab her from behind. But from out of her shadow, a red spear shot out and skewered her attacker. Lucienne gasped and jumped as a masked woman rose from her shadow.
The woman was 5'6" tall; had long, flowing purple hair reaching down her back, red irises with a mask on the lower half of her face; and wore a pair of dark-silver metallic pauldrons, and a wine-purple and black skin-tight full-body suit that showed over her curvaceous body and D-cup breasts. She also had two red spears in her hands, with one short and one long.
"Yer fightin' style is impressive, bit ye need tae watch yer back whin yer partner is busy, Master," the woman said in an accent that made Lucienne pale, as the woman kneeled in front of her. "Servant, Lancer. Scáthach, at yer service."
'Oh god…she's Scottish…'
"Servant? So getting a Geass grants us benefits." Naruto noted, moving to the side and cutting the last Royal Guard member vertically in half.
While Naruto was finished off his opponent, the General was rising from his position, looking terrified at how easily the Uzumaki and the vi Britannia shredded through her unit. Taking out his handgun, he pointed it at Naruto and opened fire just as the blonde noticed him.
"You fucking filthy dirty piece of bloody trash!" he roared, firing his shots with each word. "Wha-?"
Naruto had dodged all the shots by using his speed, reflexes, and agility to perform short dashes faster than the brain can comprehend, making the untrained eyes compute to the brain that he was teleporting. Before Naruto could make the General's life miserable, a chain shot out from the blond's shadow. It bounced around the warehouse walls before wrapping around the General's neck and raised him up until he was forced to stand on his toes.
"I take it you're my Servant?" Naruto mused, looking behind him to see a woman also rising from his own shadow.
His Servant was 5'6" tall; had extremely long purple hair that reached down to the ground, her eyes covered with a purple blindfold. She had a slender figure with E-cup breasts, and wearing a tight black dress with purple trim, with the miniskirt flowing freely. She also had matching detached sleeves, leggings, and heeled boots; and wielding an extremely long silver chain with spikes at the end.
"Servant, Rider. Medusa, at your service." the woman kneeled as her Master's eyes widened in surprise.
"Medusa, huh?"
"I assume that you want to interrogate this man?" she inquired, tugging at her chain that held the choking General on it.
"You assume correctly, Medusa," he said gratefully before turning his attention to a struggling General.
"Wh-What the h-hell are you a-all?" the General wheezed as Naruto and Lucienne walked up to his struggling form with their Servants tailing close behind them.
"We are Britannia's wake-up call, and the ones who will be the cause of Charles zi Britannia's final breaths on this Earth," Naruto said, pointing his specialized katana between the General's eyes. "We really must thank you, the terrorists, and Clovis, for you all moved up our schedule with what we learned."
"Of course, we could already use more information. So, be a dear and tell us everything you know!" Lucienne hissed, putting her Hidden Blade up to his throat.
"I'll…never tell you anything! It…doesn't matter what…you brat do!" the General snarled, trying to kick at them. "Britannia…will not fall!" she choked out as Medusa hung them off his feet.
"Ah de de de, you're going to tell us everything," Lucienne grinned in a bloodthirsty manner and licked her lips. "I believe class is in session."
Naruto shared the same grin and sheathed his blade. "Indeed. For those that are watching this recording, ya might wanna look away. Because this little piggy went-!"
A bloodcurdling scream that can only be found in the depths of hell echoed throughout the warehouse.
When one wants to become an artist, you do not put them in positions of military power and put all the pressure of the world on them. That is the mistake Charles has made, and now it's created quite the mess within Japan.
Then again, everything went wrong when he let his foolish brother do what he wanted without consequence.
With the desperate plea of a dying man and the cry of a child whose life was cut tragically short, demons have awakened to turn Britannia from a land of Social Darwinism to a gentle world where children like Nunnally can live happily and in peace. But the path of bloodshed is paved with good intentions. If you want peace, always be ready for war.
And the war has begun…
STAGE 01 COMPLETE
"The demons have come, and along with their special set of skills, is a new ability called Geass, and a couple of Servants whose powers have yet to be fully tapped into. Now Naruto and Lucienne must navigate the Shinjuku warzone and stop the massacre with the help of their friends and newfound allies.
Will their faith in the Kozuki Group be rewarded, or will it lead to their damnation?"
Next time… Stage 02: Let the War Games Begin
Naruto: Now it's getting good!
Soul: I'm firing on all cylinders, bay-bay! Code Geass is still on the mind! Let's do this!
Lelouch: Are you hyped up on coffee again?
Soul: Maybe! Then again, the isolation is slowly driving me mad!
Naruko: Hey! We need your mind to stay alive in this world!
Soul: Yeah, yeah.
Lucienne: So what's this I hear about two OCs coming to play with us? And one of them is going to be a Samurai whose 'Princess' might be Nunnally?
Soul: Keyword on might. I'm not that suicidal.
Lelouch: No wonder you caved so easily to Merrybel's demands…
Soul: Hey Merrybel! Lelouch is ready for Round Three!
Lelouch: You monster!

Yes, Jeremiah and Villetta are less douchey than their canon-counterparts.
I forgot to say this last chapter, but the Sokovia Charter is based on the Sokovia Accords in the MCU, only it's about chemical weapons.
The Hidden Blade is the standard-issue Assassin's Creed Hidden Blade.
"Keep your eye on the bloody road" uttered by Allen Quatermain from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. RIP Sean Connery.

I would go into detail about why Villetta found advancement difficult, but I don't want to be accused of being political, so I'm leaving it as is.
'Fucking terrible' to 'Goddamn Nightmare' is from Red vs. Blue.
Jill is someone from a certain Sunrise anime. Also, the 'snack' part is from Final Fantasy VII Machinabridged.

Naruto's main weapon is Jetstream Sam's Murasama HF Katana and gun-sheath from Metal Gear Rising.
Naruto and Lucienne vs. The Royal Guard fight is just as fast-paced as the bar fight scene in Kingsman.

The vernette gasped as she found herself in a black void, illuminated by floating blue orbs. She sweated when she realized where she was, as a golden card appeared in front of her.
The card of a bounded inhuman beast.
It then exploded into flames that surrounded the Code Bearer, who looked bored as spikes and stakes popped up around her, with a spike shooting up dangerously close to her, scratching her cheek and making it bleed.
"Hello, Master. Time for that chat!"
"Are you done? I know what you want to do, so just get it over with."
"Ah, you wish. You suffered long enough because of those humans. Consider it karma for sealing the Holy Grail and cutting me off."
"It was a necessary sacrifice. Considering Charles' plan for the Holy Grail, along with his and V.V.'s Servants, I would think you would be in agreement."
"Until you were betrayed. I warned you about those brothers. I should've been there to save you!"
"No use crying over spilled milk. Are you going to continue being my Servant or not?"
"I should leave you high and dry, but since Charles zi Britannia and that little shrimp V.V.'s plan affect even us Heroic Spirits of Proper Human History, I'll be with you as long as you renounce them and know what needs to be done."
"...You even have to ask, Jeanne?"
