Peter Parker ran up to Empire State University glad that he was on the premises early this time; some late coming ins thanks to Spider-Man which wasn't a good look for him as he was in his second to last year at college. He then found coming up to him was Gwen Stacy and she was smiling. She usually looked down on him and was competitive about grades and thus wasn't a fan of his higher scores despite his less than perfect record.

"Peter... Isn't? I think that we have gotten off the wrong track... I haven't been the nicest one to you and I want to make it up to you... A clean slate?" Gwen asked Peter and he was weirded out to find her acting like that as she was usually like an academic big girl on campus.

"I think that would be great..." Peter then replied to her as she then smiled further.

"How about after school we go to the bowling alley together..." Gwen suggested as Peter looked at her.

"Like a date?" Peter asked as Gwen smirked in response.

"It can be if you want it to be..." Gwen replied as Peter stopped as he was just asked out by a girl on his first date...

Peter awoke the next morning and his vision returned to him after what felt like minutes. He awoke to see Zarda standing over the bed smiling fully dressed in her suit; Peter suddenly remembered what happened and shot off to out of bed as he grabbed his boxers to put them on. "Thanks for last night... You are definitely the Amazing Spider-Man... Been a long time since I was with a man with that much stamina... Not since Hercules..." Zarda told him as he got his web-shooters and quickly got his suit on.

"You were great too Zarda... So; will you end up talking about to Jen again?" Peter asked thinking that he just spent last night with the most beautiful and sexiest superheroine in the world and what they did...

"If I do; maybe she will ask if she can join in the next time..." Zarda said in amusement as Peter just groaned. She then helped him zip his suit up as she told him "I really wouldn't mind us doing this again Peter and maybe... Sorry; this is forward but it could be more... Maybe we can just go over that later..."

Peter's eyes widened but sighed as he said goodbye to her and was teleported back to his apartment. There was a note from May to text him to let him know that he was back safe and he ended up doing so wondering how she would react if she knew how he spent his night...

He ended up taking a shower and got changed into his normal clothes as a text from Fury's number told him to go to this address when he was ready. He sighed and ended up going out and found his way to what seemed to be an old out of business barber's shop. He went in and found Fury at a chair smirking and motioned for him to go to the seat next to him; he took it and the chairs had them go down until they reached the secret hideout.

"So I am finally being trusted with your base of operations... I was starting to think that you all stayed in that van..." Peter snarked looking at them as he got looks in return but Scott ended up waving to him. "At least there is one friendly face in this big happy family..." Peter sarcastically muttered as he went closer.

"Watch your mouth Parker and be prepared as we are in for a big mission now... If there is any time for you to be serious and not mess up a mission then this is it..." Castle then snapped at Peter with his raising an eyebrow.

"So breaking into a top secret military base acting out of Captain America's old stomping grounds but was just practice?" Peter asked as Castle now looked like he wanted to go and choke his neck with his bare hands.

"How is raiding Nighthawk's base to steal a dangerous weapon for him sound?" Coulson asked Peter and this caused Peter to pause. "Oh yes... We have Nighthawk's secret identity..." Coulson grinned as he got the lights out and then a projector showed a publicity picture of Kyle Richmond. "Everyone... Kyle Richmond the owner of Richmond Industries, Washington's representative in Congress... Introduced the bill that has the Squadron Supreme follow the law but ways around that as certain members have... Some would say that he's the weakest Congressman in power but he is in truth the man behind the Nighthawk cowl. Imagine what a billion dollar fortune, parents gunned down in front of you as a child and years spent training yourself physically and mentally can bring you." Coulson explained and Peter's eyes widened as he could make out the resemblance in the cheeks to Nighthawk.

"Hold on a minute here... That's Nighthawk? If he was a vigilante superhero on top of being a politician and billionaire business guy then how would he even have time to sleep..." Scott ended up asking putting his arm up and Peter knew that it's a good point.

"Life Model Decoys or LMDs... Lifelike robot replicas of himself that acts as he would and have his brainwaves... Able to act as Kyle Richmond when he is busy being Nighthawk.. Helped him with his cover like when our source managed to figure out his identity." Coulson said as the next slide showed a redheaded man with a beard, glasses and wearing a Nighthawk suit without the cowl. "Dr Johann Fennhoff; noted psychiatrist, master hypnotist, former head at Ravencroft Institute, founder of the neo-Nazi group National Force and known as a criminal mastermind nicknamed 'Dr Faustus'... Used his job at Ravencroft to perform illegal and unethical experiments on his patients while having an obsession with beating and becoming Nighthawk hence the cosplay... Figured out his identity and blurted it out when he was defeated and taken away by a LMD of Richmond showing up with Nighthawk there discredited him. We explored it and found evidence to support his statement like where he got his wonderful toys..." Fury explained as it then showed a blueprint of the Nightcave.

"Kyle Richmond is due for a meeting with advisors and our sources say that Nighthawk has been going out in Chicago to deal with a crime wave there... We will be abel to stealthily send in Parker and Coulson... Lang and Castle will be there on standby..." Fury told them as felt tense since Nighthawk was already not a fan of him and if he got the slightest clue that he was in his headquarters...

The Rocket Central and Zarda was at the bar having her usual mugs of beer; it wasn't bad but she long missed the drinks that they had in Asgard when she had visited before Ragnarok came. She had Jennifer join her and Zarda asked "Jen, how was your fight with Titania?"

"Great apart from the crowd booing me and cheering against me despite the fact that I'm the superhero and she is the villain... Wanted to see me stripped from my leotard and I decided to tease them after winning by going to my zipper but didn't... You would think that me pinning her with my ass to her face sitting down as I had her legs up would have been enough..." Jennifer sighed and Zarda nodded along with her frustrations. "So how did things go with Spidey afterwards..."

Zarda didn't say a word and Jennifer smirked and said "went very well then... If only Titania and you weren't my most steady relationships since my divorce... You know I am booked to make an appearance with John and my ex-father in law at a NASA event... On top of having a meeting with the producers of my law reality show who are still clamping on making it more exciting... Groaning about how a serious lawsuit with the near injury of a child wasn't chilling TV..." Jennifer then groaned and Zarda could understand her frustration.

"Should be more firm Jen; like how I utterly refuse to appear at any events with that Mutant hating bigot in the White House and I have let Hill know in no uncertain terms that I will be honest if asked in interviews..." Zarda said and remembering about when fear of Mutants were at a whole time high despite the efforts of the X Men team that were formed to try and earn their trust. The Mutant Registration Act put forth by Robert Kelly who was a school principal turned senator and was campaigning for Mutants to have to be licensed to lived and put under scrutiny for just being born with powers. Plus him saying that the Mutant Massacre that happened at a Mutant Rights ally was a good thing...

She remembered that it was at one of the times where Howard Stark had tracked her down and convinced her to do some undercover work to help out in the Cold War and not escalate things. Howard had convinced her that it would be best to keep out of it and she hated that she had listened to it and that it was best that she let the Mutant affairs sort themselves out.

Zarda forced herself to think away from that and thought more about her night with Peter and how amazing it was. Plus he was a great heroic guy and had qualities that she had admired about Phil. It brought more of a smile to Zarda that Jennifer noticed as she took her order from the bartender.

It was outside the Richmond family estate as Peter in his black suit was with Coulson as they managed to get the hidden entrance and exit for Nighthawk's special car the Hawkrod. "With this... As long as it is on; the security should be scrambled as you get in..." Scott told them as Peter and Coulson slowly made their way in.

They got in and Peter marvelled at the high tech cave with trophy walls and a dinosaur statue. Coulson had him to a computer and Peter managed to hack his way in and Coulson showed him the security terminal. "Make sure that the security is safely offline as I open up this..." Coulson told him as a secret compartment came open to reveal a glowing dark green rock. "Argonite... An extremely rare substance that's a piece of Hyperion's home planet... Pretty harmless to normal human but is dangerous and potentially lethal to Hyperion..." Coulson explained to him as Peter had heard about it.

As Coulson carefully got it; Peter got curious and looked towards a memorial glass panel with the Nightbird suit; he groaned wondering what happened to Nighthawk's sidekick and partner as no one really knew. He decided to have a look at the video files on the computer to see what the masked jerk had. A folder called 'NIGHTBIRD'S LAST ASSIGNMENT'.

He ended up clicking on it and it showed a security file with... Gwen in a shirt and track pants training in an area? Kyle went up to her in his Nighthawk suit and showed her a file; "That Parker guy... The one who is late to classes and a bit of a dweeb... You really think that he's Spider-Man?" Gwen ended up asking as Peter was stunned. She knew Nighthawk and he knew that she had figured out that he was Spider-Man before he told her but still...

"The one who has taken it upon himself to be the new protector of the streets and being an amateur about it and with his powers; he is reckless and due for disaster... I want you to keep an eye on him. Be close to him; learn what you can..." Richmond told her and Peter was stunned.

She was Nightbird?

"Are you asking me to date him? Because if you want me to then I can work my charms..." Gwen asked as Peter was open mouthed stunned. Did she only date him for a mission put to her by Nighthawk? He poured his heart to her and she was his everything?

Was it all a lie...

He then punched the computer in frustration as an alarm came out; then a voice said that security LMDs are active as out came LMD robots of Nighthawk as he had his Spider-Sense go off... "I thought things seemed to be going too well..." drawled Coulson as he then glared at Peter.

Richmond had been at Gwen's funeral and it showed how his distrust of Spidey became outright anger. Plus in the first chapter Gwen told Peter that she wanted to tell him something before they were knocked out by his gas. Did she want to come clean? We will see about that later...

Decided to have Dr Faustus be the Hugo Strange of this universe; would you believe that he was Batman's original arch enemy but now you would only mostly know about him outside the comics in Arkham City and the Gotham show. Plus Hope isn't a full official member of the crew in this story as while she does help them out; she still runs the business that her father started and is now owned by Stark.
