The Lighthouse

After Deke had led them away, Daisy led them back to where she had last seen the others. While The Doctor and River no longer trusted her, she was the only one who knew where the rest of the team was, so they were forced to follow her lead.

Daisy led them over to a steel door, knocking once and waiting. Upon receiving no response, Daisy did it twice more, with the same result and sighed in disappointment.

"I thought they'd be here," she said in disappointment.

"Daisy?"

They heard footsteps approaching before the doors opened and a man who could only be Phil Coulson walked through them, sharing a warm embrace with Daisy.

"How'd you escape?" Coulson asked after they released each other.

"We helped," The Doctor declared as he, River, Jemma and Fitz walked in.

"Fitz!" Coulson said happily.

"And friends," Mack noted as he eyed the new arrivals. "Who are you?"

"We're Leopold's parents," The Doctor said, tired of having to explain the same thing over and over again.

Stunned, Coulson, Mack and Elena looked over at Fitz, who merely nodded in confirmation.

"It's a long story," Fitz said sheepishly.

"One he hasn't even told us yet," Jemma added.

There was a loud bang and everyone turned towards the source, seeing Deke had closed the door.

"This guy?" Mack asked in disgust. "How'd you get out of your cage?"

"I let myself out, thank you very much for your concern," Deke said sarcastically.

"I know you probably have your issues with Deke, but he helped us escape," The Doctor defended Deke.

"He also sold Daisy to Kasius," Coulson pointed out, glaring at Deke.

"Yeah, and you know why," Deke said defensively, returning Coulson's glare.

"What possible reason could you have to think it was acceptable to sell someone?" Elena said in disgust.

"So you didn't tell them what your pal Daisy was about to do?" Deke asked Coulson, who didn't respond.

"What's he talking about?" Mack asked, looking from Daisy to Coulson for answer, but neither answered.

"Daisy was warned her actions could cause Kasius to kill hundreds of the remaining humans, and she decided that was a worthwhile risk on the slim chance attacking Kasius could help her find Jemma," River said and Daisy grimaced, unable to look at Mack and Elena, who looked at her horrified.

"What the Hell is wrong with you, Daisy?" Mack demanded, unable to hide his anger. "We try to help people, not endanger them!"

"Do we really have time to argue amongst ourselves? We're still trapped here, and May was taken to the surface," Jemma interjected before things could get ugly.

"She's right, we need to find your friend and then get out of here, back to the TARDIS," The Doctor agreed.

"What's a TARDIS?" Elena asked confused.

"It's a time machine, it brought us here. It can also get us home, we just need to get to it," Fitz explained.

"But first, we need to find May," Coulson said and The Doctor nodded.

"Now, you're making sense."

It was at that moment that Mack realized someone was missing.

"Flint? Oh no," Mack said and they all followed his gaze.

"Flint's here? Oh boy," Deke said in dismay, realizing what was happening.

"Not anymore," Elena said uneasily.

"Who's Flint?" Fitz asked in confusion.

"An Inhuman who was just turned, he can control rocks with his mind. I hope he's not going to do something stupid," Mack groaned.

Not long after, The Doctor, Daisy, Coulson, Mack and Elena watched as Sinara and another Kree stood over the unconscious Flint.

"Does he have any skill as a fighter?" The Doctor inquired.

"None that we can tell. He's undisciplined," Coulson explained.

"We're in over our heads, but that's never stopped us before," Mack said with a slight smile.

"Now would be a great time to give me my powers back," Daisy said with a glare at The Doctor.

"When you've proven to me that I can trust you. Until then, no," The Doctor said coolly before turning to Elena. "You have super speed, don't you?"

"Yes, but I always end up back where I started," Elena explained, confused by The Doctor's smile.

"That works out perfectly for me," The Doctor said before pulling out his screwdriver.

Sinara was about to reach down and grab Flint when the lights in the room went out, surprising her before she felt a brushing motion and Flint was suddenly gone. Seeing movement out of the corner of her eye, she realized what happened.

"After them!"

Out in the hall, The Doctor turned his screwdriver on, taking out the lights, making it impossible for anyone to see where they went. But they knew it would only be a matter of time before they were turned back on. This merely delayed the inevitable.

Upon arriving back at the room, Coulson shut and locked the door before they walked inside.

"Everyone here?"

"Yeah, we're all accounted for," Fitz confirmed.

"Mr. and Mrs. Boba Fett will be here any minute," Daisy warned.

"What do we do now?" Jemma questioned.

"We can escape via the Trawler," Coulson said.

"Escape to where?" Deke questioned.

"The surface. All the signs have been pointing us there. The Kree won't follow us there, and you don't have to follow us there either," Coulson said hostilely.

"Oi! Enough with your bickering! Honestly, you're all acting like a bunch of children!" The Doctor shouted, causing everyone to look at him startled. "We are all on the same team, get over yourselves! I've known children who behave better. Are you going to work together or not?"

Sheepishly, Deke and Coulson exchanged a look before nodding, feeling like a couple kids scolded by their parents.

"Good. Flint, can you block the door?" The Doctor asked.

Nodding, Flint used his powers, moving several large rocks in front of the door, blocking it. Seconds later, they heard the sounds of someone banging on the door.

"That won't hold them for long. They'll find a way passed that eventually," River pointed out.

As if to prove River's point, there was a loud bang as a softball sized hall was blown through the wall.

"You just had to say it," Coulson said in exasperation.

"I thought I told you not to go out there," Mack told Flint angrily.

"You told me to use my powers to protect people," Flint argued.

"This isn't your problem to fix," Mack shot back.

"It is my problem! They're after me!"

"And me," Daisy spoke up.

"And me," Jemma added.

"I don't think they're going to be picky about who they're going to kill," Elena noted.

"Oi! We're wasting time; we need to find a way out of here," The Doctor shouted, as by this point the Kree had blown several holes in the door.

"We don't go out. We go up," Deke said and they all turned to him.

"How? There's no elevator here," Coulson argued.

"Then we make our own elevator, with this," Deke said, pulling out what appeared to be a belt buckle.

"Is that what I think it is?" River asked as she walked over curiously, Deke allowing her to take the device from him.

"A belt buckle?" Fitz deadpanned.

"It's called a Gravity Puck, it's an anti-gravity device," The Doctor explained before another hole was blown in the door.

"This chute leads directly to the drop bay under the Trawler," Deke said leading them over to said chute. "We can get to the airlock from there."

"We can use the device to create a gravity well," Jemma noted and Deke nodded.

"Will it work?" Mack asked as they heard another hole being blown through the door.

"Theoretically," The Doctor noted before shrugging. "But the alternative is to let the Kree kill us."

"It's our best option at this point," Coulson agreed.

"I'll go first, show you how it works and drop it back down for the next person," Deke said only to be yanked back by Daisy.

"Um, no. I'm not gonna let you use us as bait while you make your grand escape," Daisy sneered.

"Did you not hear a word of what he said about working together?!" Deke asked in exasperation.

"Since Daisy is apparently not capable of putting aside her feelings, I will go first and do as Deke said. Anyone disagree?" River asked and nodded when no one said anything. "Good."

After they had all used the Gravity Puck and were all on a higher, level, they shut the chute.

"You sure they can't follow us?" Jemma asked Deke.

"Of course they can follow us, it's just gonna take them a while," Deke explained.

"Well Deke, you ready to fly this thing?" Coulson asked.

"What? I'm not a pilot," Deke said, to their surprise.

"You don't know how to fly this thing?" Coulson asked.

"I never said I did," Deke pointed out.

"Ok. What about you, Flint? Wasn't Virgil giving you flying lessons?" Coulson asked as he turned to the young Inhuman.

"Yeah, and I'm not bad but…I'm not going with you guys," Flint said, to their shock.

"What do you mean you're not going? These people will kill you on sight!" Mack argued.

"You told me to use my powers to protect people. They're in this mess because of me. I can't just abandon them. I gotta figure out a way to get them out of here," Flint said and, after a moment, Mack nodded.

"Okay. Well, I guess we're gonna have to figure out a plan, aren't we?" Mack asked, surprising all them.

"We?"

"Yeah, we. I told you, I'm here for you," Mack said.

"Me too," Elena volunteered.

"Wait, Mack, what about never splitting up again?" Coulson argued.

"Yeah, I know sir, but I can't leave them behind," Mack said apologetically.

"We'll handle things from here, head to the surface and find your friend," The Doctor said, surprising them all.

"You're staying too?" Fitz asked, not really surprised as The Doctor smiled.

"I told you, I would deal with Kasius, son. He won't be bothering these people for very long," The Doctor promised.

"You always did hate dictators," River noted with a grin and The Doctor shrugged.

"I've seen too many in my lifetimes to be okay with letting these people suffer," The Doctor said simply.

"I see where you get it, Turbo," Mack said in amusement as he glanced at Fitz.

"Be careful son. And you, try not to get into too much trouble," The Doctor said as he glanced at River.

"Me? Never," River said cheekily before she quickly kissed The Doctor and glanced at Coulson. "I can fly this thing. I've flown many, more complex spaceships."

"Well that's…good. And I look forward to knowing how," Coulson said.

"Coulson, a word before we part ways?" The Doctor asked, gesturing over to the side, away from everyone else.

Although confused, Coulson nodded, following The Doctor, shrugging at the others on his way.

"You love Daisy," The Doctor noted once they were out of hearing range.

"She's like the daughter I never had," Coulson said, confused when The Doctor smiled sadly.

"And because of that, she can do no wrong, even when she needlessly risks getting countless people killed," The Doctor said and Coulson opened his mouth but no words came out. "I had a …similar blind spot myself. Her name was Rose Tyler; I met her when I was in a…very dark place in my life. I needed someone then, and so I was willing to overlook a lot. She nearly doomed the entire universe once, and then was willing to do it again merely to be with me. And because of my blind spot, I never said a thing about it. So I am telling you from experience, you are not helping Daisy by ignoring her flaws and mistakes. History remembers you as a good man, one of the unsung heroes of the age of the Avengers. Don't ruin that by being willfully blind of Daisy's shortcomings. You are better than this."

After a moment, Coulson nodded, appearing to consider The Doctor's words as they returned to the others.

"Before we go, since you guys are planning on fighting a bunch of alien warriors – which sounds like suicide, by the way – there's something you know," Deke spoke up and they all turned to him. "The True Believers used to say that there were weapons, hidden in the wall on Level 3."

"You mean the Level crawling with aliens that suck your blood?" Elena asked as they all looked at him in disbelief.

"Why do you think no one ever tried to get it until now? But you guys are probably crazy enough to try it," Deke pointed out.

"I certainly am. Come along everyone, we have some aliens to fight," The Doctor said cheerfully, leading Mack, Elena and Flint away.

"Will they be okay?" Jemma asked worriedly.

"I don't know," River said honestly. "But I do know The Doctor will do his best to protect them."

"That's the best we can hope for right now," Coulson said before they all boarded the Trawler.

Once on board, River got in the pilot seat, Coulson sitting down next to her in the Co-Pilot seat as they others watched from behind them.

"You can fly this thing, right?" Coulson asked.

"Oh certainly. It's landing that's the concern," River said cheerfully as she began readying for takeoff. "But as my husband would say, Geronimo."

"Brilliant," Fitz said sarcastically as he, Jemma, Deke and Daisy headed back to find seats.

The Trawler gave a sudden lurch as River took off.

"Hang on tight, I fear it's going to be a bumpy ride," River called back as the others buckled in.

Barely had the words left her mouth when there was a sudden lurch again.

"River!" Fitz called out as they frantically strapped themselves in.

"I said it was going to be a bumpy ride!" she called back.

"Oh, we are so stupid!" Deke groaned.

"Hang on!" Coulson warned as the Trawler came in for a crash landing.

Down on the surface, May opened her eyes, finding herself in a tent, with Enoch standing by her side.

"Welcome back, Agent May. You hit your head quite hard," Enoch said as May painfully pulled herself into a sitting position.

"Where are we?" May asked before seeing a SHIELD symbol on a pillar behind Enoch. "The Zepher. How? What's going on?"

"They grabbed us just in time, anchored us against the gravity storm," Enoch explained.

"Who?" May demanded.

"That would be us."

At the sound of the voice, May looked over as a man dressed in a suit resembling a snowsuit, complete with the hood and goggles, walked in. He removed his goggles and lowered his hood, revealing a man who looked to be in his forties with black hair and blue eyes. The man looked at her with an unreadable look on his face.

"It's good to see you again, May. Except you haven't met me yet. I'm Jack Harkness," he introduced himself before looking over to the side.

May followed his gaze, seeing an old woman walk in behind him. She smiled at May, as though she knew her.

"I've waited such a long time to see you again," the woman said simply.

May was confused until she looked down, seeing a wooden robin in the woman's hand. May looked back up at the woman, realization washing over her.

"Robin?"

And that's the end of 5x07. Hope you all enjoyed it.

Did anyone honestly expect Jack not to show up in the future at some point LOL?
