(The events of the Dragon Ball Z: The Dead Zone Movie happens mostly normally just that Kakarot didn't go to Master Roshi's home to see Bulma for the Dragon Radar since he already has one at his house as that was how he was able to fine the Four Star Dragon Ball and it was there when Krillin finds out about Gohan instead at Kame House with Master Roshi and Bulma at the start of Dragon Ball Z)

On Planet Earth the hero warrior known as Son Kakarot was living a peaceful and happy life with his family, his wife Chi-Chi and their fraternal twin sons with their first born being named after Kakarot's adopted grandfather Son Gohan and their second son was named Son Goten to keep with the same theme with his brother's name. Gohan & Goten were very different in personality where Gohan was a sly child who happily did his studies much to Chi-Chi's delight while Goten love fighting and watching their father perform fighting techniques much to Kakarot's delight but there have been moments where they both had displayed that they possessed a great hidden power like during the battle with Garlic Jr.

Where neither Kakarot and Piccolo could hurt Garlic Jr as he had used the Dragon Ball's to wish to be immortal and Garlic Jr opened up a portal into another dimension that is a void of darkness known as the Dead Zone the same place where the being who was the Guardian of the Earth before Kami had sealed away his father Garlic after he had led an army of his Clansmen to try and overthrow him and take over the world because the Guardian had choose Kami to be the next Guardian of the Earth instead of him and Garlic Jr wanted to make them suffer instead of just killing them but during the battle both Gohan & Goten tapped into their hidden power and were able to blast Garlic Jr into the Dead Zone, sealing him away.

After the battle Kakarot had gotten a bit stronger after healing for his injuries which wasn't surprising as Kakarot had always gotten stronger after he had recovered unknowingly because of an ability that he possessed called Zenkai. Kakarot was planning on bringing both Gohan & Goten with him to Kame House to meet up his old teacher Master Roshi and his closest friends like Krillin, Bulma, Launch and everyone else who is able to get to their reunion however unknown to Kakarot or anyone else someone was coming to their world.

While Kakarot, Gohan & Goten were traveling to Kame House that was when a Space Pod landed on Planet Earth and out from it came a man who's name was Raditz the elder son of Bardock & Gina and the reason why he had came to Planet Earth was to look for his younger brother Kakarot who he believe was sent to that world by their parents to wipe out the inhabitants of the planet as that was the usual reason why Saiyan's was sent to different world's however he was unaware of the real reason why. Raditz used the device on his face which was known as a scouter to locate the highest power levels on the planet and there were two and so Raditz decided to go to the closes one which belonged to Piccolo who was the last son of the Demon King Piccolo who was killed by Kakarot many years ago when he had try to conquer the world.

When Raditz saw that Piccolo wasn't who he was looking for he was about to kill him until his scouter told him that the second power level was moving so Raditz decided to go to it much to Piccolo's relief who then decided to follow Raditz to find out who exactly was he and if he was going be a problem for his plans to conquer the world.

Meanwhile at Kame House everyone was enjoying themselves and telling each other what they have been doing for the past five years like Bulma & Yamcha had gotten married not long after Kakarot & Chi-Chi and they also had a son together who they named Jean. Two years before the battle against Garlic Jr, Launch with the help from Tien & Chiaotzu and Bulma's Dragon Radar managed to find the seven Dragon Balls to summon Shenron to wish to spit Launch with her two distinct personalities into two separate people with the blonde haired Launch keeping their original name while the blue haired Launch choose to have a new name which was Soufa and the two consider each other sisters, Soufa went on to marry Tien and they had a daughter together name Lili however neither Yamcha or Tien were there as Tien & Chiaotzu were busy building their new dojo while Yamcha had a baseball game to play.

Not long after that was when Kakarot finally arrived so everyone went outside to greet him but they were surprised when they saw Gohan & Goten with him and they were even more so when he revealed that Gohan & Goten were his son's expect for Krillin who had met them during the events with Garlic Jr and so while the four children played everyone else began talking about the old times when they were younger and traveling the world looking for the seven magical orbs known as the Dragon Balls. However that was when Raditz arrived at Kame House and where he revealed that Kakarot wasn't actually a human being but instead he was a member of the warrior race known as the Saiyan's and Raditz was his older brother shocking everyone.

When they ask Raditz why was Kakarot sent to Earth he revealed that like most Saiyan's that were sent away to other world's he was sent here to wipe out the inhabitants of the world shocking everyone again, Raditz then told Kakarot that the reason why he came to Planet Earth was to recruit him for a job to wipe out the inhabitants of another world but Kakarot refused as his time on Earth had made him into a good person instead of the normal Saiyan warrior. However Raditz told him that refusal isn't a option as twenty four years ago their homeworld Planet Vegeta was destroyed leaving only five Saiyan's alive in the entire Universe with them being Kakarot, Raditz and his two teammates Nappa who was the general of the Saiyan Army and Prince Vegeta the Fourth and the final one was Vegeta's younger brother Tarble who was sent away by their father King Vegeta the third when he was little because of his low power level which wasn't something that King Vegeta was going to allow within the Saiyan Royal Family and Prince Vegeta hasn't decided to go and fetch him yet.

Kakarot again refused to join his older brother and he then told Raditz to leave Earth and never return however it was then Raditz noticed Gohan & Goten who were hiding behind Bulma, Launch, Soufa, Krillin and Master Roshi and Raditz immediately knew that they were Kakarot's son's thanks to their tails that all Saiyan's are born with and how Goten look exactly like Kakarot who looked just like their father Bardock. So Raditz then told Kakarot that since he refuses to join him than he'll be taking his son's with him instead, but Kakarot refused to allow that to happen however it didn't take much for Raditz to simply knock Kakarot away even with his power boost that he got after the battle against Garlic Jr and Raditz took both Gohan & Goten but before he left the island he told Kakarot that if he ever wanted to see his son's again he will have to kill one hundred human's before tomorrow.

Kakarot refused to kill anyone and instead decided that he will travel to where Raditz was and fight him head on unfortunately though while both Krillin and Master Roshi wanted to help Kakarot but should they be killed then Shenron wouldn't be able to revive them as both Krillin and Master Roshi had already die once before because of King Piccolo and Shenron can't revive someone twice. However it was then when Piccolo made himself known to everyone and he made a offer to join forces with Kakarot to deal with Raditz together since he was going be a problem for Piccolo's plans on taking over the world and so the two enemies went to where Raditz was waiting by which was at his space pod while Gohan & Goten were trap inside.

Once Kakarot and Piccolo arrived they immediately battled Raditz however even with their combine might they should no chance against the Saiyan warrior until when Raditz was beaten down on Kakarot which caused both Gohan & Goten to tap into their hidden power the second time in their life and broke out from Raditz's pod and they then changed at Raditz injuring him enough to allow Kakarot to grab hold of his older brother from behind.

While Kakarot was holding on to Raditz, Piccolo was changing up his newest attack called the 'Special Beam Cannon' and Kakarot knew that he couldn't let go of Raditz or else he would dodge Piccolo's attack so Kakarot decided to make the sacrifice in order to protect his friends, his family and the rest of the world, however just as Piccolo fired his attack Raditz did managed to hit Kakarot in the ribs which he already damaged when he was beaten down on his younger brother and it allow Raditz to break free from Kakarot's hold leaving him to be the only one who was killed by the attack. Expect it did manage to hit Raditz on his side which injured him greatly and just as Raditz was about to fire a energy blast at Piccolo to kill him that was his scouter then pick up five strong power levels who were Master Roshi, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien & Chiaotzu as well as two smaller ones which were Bulma Launch and while Soufa stayed behind at Kame House to look after Jean & Lili and Raditz knew that he wouldn't be able to beat them in his injured state so instead he fired a blast to distract everyone while he could fly away to recover and contact his teammates to tell them what had happened.
