I AM SORRY FOR THE LONG ASS WAIT! LIFE'S A BITCH! ANYWAY HERE HAVE THE CHAPTER AFTER DAMN NEAR A YEAR! ONCE AGAIN SORRY!
Goll stood outside of Arthur's new living quarters and glanced at her older sister, "Why does he seem so young Hilde? I thought all humans that are sent to Valhalla are restored to their peak. Is he some sort of special case?"
The older Valkyrie just looked forward, "Sadly not Goll, you are correct. Humans do return to their peak age in Valhalla but sadly for young Pendragon he never reached his peak. Despite his horrible attitude King Pendragon willingly gave his life for the kingdom he lead at a very young age."
Goll glances back through the window at the young king in disbelief before looking back to Brunhilde, "I wouldn't expect HIM to do that, and so young."
"Why do you say that Goll?"
Goll looks down at the ground slightly embarrassed by the question, "It's just he seems like the type of guy to not care about anything but himself."
"Who seems like that type of guy?" Arthur asks as he puts on the final piece of his chainmail armor, he wears no crown or helmet, and if it weren't for his title you would think him nothing more than a peasant playing dress up as a knight, "And what type of guy are we talking about here?"
The young Valkyrie sister jumps frightened at the sudden voice, "Ah Arthur! I didn't hear you walk up!"
"That's because I didn't, I jumped down." Arthur says motioning up to his balcony, seemingly in a better mood, "Now what were you two talking about down here? It better be good, because I want to know every little detail."
"We were uh- we were." Goll stutters not knowing what to say.
"We were talking about Qin Shi Huang. A king who fought earlier in Ragnarok." Brunhilde calmly states saving her younger sister's error.
"A fellow king huh? What kingdom did he lead?"
"The Qin Dynasty, he was the very king who unified the great lands of China." Brunhilde explains, "And now he has the title of the man who defeated Hades."
"Hades? Wow, he killed the Ruler of Hielhiem? Impressive. I wish I had that honor. After all from the legends I've heard of Hades is just a better version of the god I get to duel with." He states seemingly upset that he is fighting Anubis, "Now killing him? I would much prefer to have that honor. I expect nothing from Anubis. But then again no matter the status I doubt anyone could give Excalibur and I a good challenge."
"I mean you're here now so someone clearly gave you more than a challenge," Brunhilde muttered to herself.
"What was that hag?" Arthur asked glaring at the Valkyrie.
"I didn't say anything, Pendragon, you must be hearing things," Brunhilde stated calmly with a fake smile.
Arthur just rolls his eyes at this comment before stretching out his back, "Now when and where will this take place?"
"Very soon, and right this way." Brunhilde says motioning for Arthur to follow her, "We need to go over a few things before the fight after all."
"Like what?" Arthur asks following her.
"Well, you need to meet the past fighters of course, and we need to assign a Valkyrie Sister to you. After all, you need to be able to hurt a God before you can kill one."
"Silly bitch Excalibur was crafted by God, it can already slay Gods." He states.
Brunhilde looks back while still walking, "Then why not make it even more powerful?"
Kojiro lays staring at the roof glancing at his fellow human fighters, "You heard Michel withdrew from the final bout? I heard this king guy was taking his spot. He's supposed to be pretty strong."
Jack sips his tea and nods, "Yes. King Arthur, leader of Britain. Weilder of the mighty sword Excalibur. Slayer of the Saxons. Humanity is in good hands with him."
"You sure? He seems so young. I think this is risky." Kojiro responds with slight worry in his voice.
"I don't care. I just hope he wins so I can get a few rounds in with him myself." Soji chimes in with his usual deranged manner, "I don't care how young, I don't care his status in the world, all I care about is if he's strong or not and if I can fight him."
"That seems to always be the case with you." A voice interrupts as Michel enters the room, "But with this one, I would highly advise against fighting, he can be a loose canon during battle, he won't hold back even from the very beginning."
"Even better!" Soji exclaims.
"Well that's good to hear, if he isn't one to hold back from the jump then we have a better chance of winning." Kojiro says easing a little more, "I just want this to be over. It's too stressful."
"Really? I think it's fun!"
"You have a weird meaning for fun." Kojiro remarks before looking back towards the roof, "Well whatever the case. He needs to win before we can start the celebration."
"Very true." Jack agrees as he overlooks the arena, as they all now watch from the deck Brunhidle and Goll have been watching the event, "And it seems like we'll be getting an answer to who the victor will be very soon."
Ares looks at Zeus, "Are you sure they should fight? Can we even trust her? What if she loses and the humans win?"
"Then my son we've lost Ragnarok which would have enraged me not but a little while ago. But now I see this match as a win-win as if she wins. We win Ragnarok and get to kill those damned humans." Says the mad god before looking back at his son, "But if she loses we get rid of that bitch once and for all."
"Does she anger you that much father?" Hermes asks as he pours more mead.
Zeus crushes his cup at this question and glares up at his son, "Does she anger me that much? What type of question is that? Do you know the hate for someone when they embarrass you? I'm supposed to be the most powerful god but her magic makes it so even I can't make a move against her." He states, "That magic of her's it takes over all of your senses causing you to feel only fear, it's impossible to attack her no less fight her when she hits you with it."
"What? Is that even possible?" Ares asks looking at his father then he laughs, "Well that simply means our victory is assured! Because no matter how powerful Arthur is supposed to be, if he can't move due to fear. We win!"
"It would seem so." Zeus assures him as he looked towards the arena, "But if he somehow overcomes it then we should be in for a good fight."
Arthur leans against the wall looking out at the arena from his quarters, "Well well well if it isn't the giant bitch herself." He states as he looks back his eyes going wide as a lance's peak quickly approaches his skull, "EEK!"
Arthur quickly ducks and rolls out of the way, "Giant bitch huh?! WHO ARE YOU CALLING A GIANT BITCH?!"
"Uh, no one! Sorry Lancelot I thought you were someone else!" He jumps back and hits a wall as a massive lance quickly approaches his face only to veer off course and stab not even 2 inches away from his right ear, "Phew." Arthur looks to the side, "Thanks Merlin, she was really about to kill me."
Arthur jumps out of the way and towards his magic friend, "She always has the intent. But you my young king need to learn to watch your mouth."
Arthur rubs the back of his head, "Yeah, yeah whatever, anyway how would I do that? I can barely see down to my nose no less mouth. Has that old brain of yours started to rot?"
"You know damn well that's not what I meant." Merlin says with a slap to Arthur's head, "I'm surprised that Sword chose such a smart ass like yourself."
"I think Excalibur and I are perfect for each other thank you very much." He snips back, "After all we're both just extremely confident in our abilities. And it's not like the sword is the only reason you follow me. So I must have some charm."
"Nope, just the sword." Lancelot replies with no hesitation.
"Oh come on. You just say that." Arthur says before looking to Merlin with a cocky tone, "Isn't that right?"
"No, she's hit the nail on the head King." He replies with a stone-cold face.
Arthur turns to see Galahad enter the room, "AH GALAHAD MY FRIEND! You don't follow me only because of this sword right?"
Galahad freezes sensing that he entered into a heated debate, "No?" Arthur's friend responds which boosts The Young King's confidence back up.
"Be honest son." Lancelot says with a sigh knowing her son's intentions are not to hurt Arthur's feelings.
"Well, I don't only follow him for the sword."
"HAH SEE!"
"I also do it because you tell me to Mother."
Arthur falls in despair and lets out a cry, "You guys are so mean!"
"Oh stop crying." Lancelot mumbles, "Big baby."
Arthur glares at her before jumping up, "I know you didn't just call your king a baby! That's punishable by death in most kingdoms you know?"
Lancelot lifts her eyebrow as she grabs her weapon, "Is it? Well, I'd like to see you try and kill me."
Arthur raises his finger before laughing nervously, "Well you know I said in MOST kingdoms, never mentioned mine." He says before scampering over to Galahad and whispering, "Your mom is scary."
"You're just now realizing that?" His friend whispers back.
"Who's scary?" Lancelot asks as she towers over behind them, "Say it with your chest."
Arthur jumps and slowly looks back, "Uh no one." He says with an awkward nervous smile.
"He said you're scary." Galahad says as he calmly points at the king, "Terrifying actually."
"I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!" Arthur exclaims as he looks at Lancelot who smirks, "I swear I didn't say that."
"I'll show you scary." Lancelot swings at Arthur who ducks and runs away.
"You traitor!" Arthur screams as he runs from the towering women.
"Get back here you short bastard!" She yells as she grabs Arthur pulling him towards her, "Now you'll know what scary truly looks like." She draws back her fist and swings down toward Pendragon's face when a voice causes her to freeze.
"Pendragon!" Brunhilde calls as she stands in the doorway annoyed, "What are you doing horsing around? You're supposed to be getting ready."
Arthur stares at her blank-faced before sighing, "Yeah whatever you old hag." He says monotone before breaking out of Lancelot's grip and stretching out his shoulder, "You're no fun."
Lancelot glances over at the Valkyrie before walking over to her, "And who are you?" She asks like a protective mother before leaning down to look at Brunhilde in the eyes, "Thinking you can talk to Arthur like that."
Brunhilde stares directly into Lancelot's eyes before walking past her, "I don't got time for this. Arthur needs to hurry and get ready, we're waiting for him."
"Hey don't ignore me bitch." Lancelot states taking a step forward but freezes when Arthur holds out his hand.
"You said I had a couple of hours. It's not even been thirty minutes. Why the rush?" He asks with a tilt of his head and a raise of his eyebrow.
"If you must know it's because the Gods are growing impatient with you. They're done waiting, they want the final battle to hurry and start."
"Is it because Anubis is ready to fight already?" Merlin asks.
"No, it's because they've found a new fighter. One they claim to be even more powerful than Anubis." The sister states before looking at Arthur, "Now say your goodbyes before the battle and we'll perform Volundr."
"One more powerful than Anubis." Arthur restates, "So you're telling me I get a worthy fighter?"
"All the Gods are worthy fighters, YOU of all people should know not to get too cocky."
"Yeah yeah, whatever you say." Arthur says with an eye roll.
"Now let's go Pendragon." Brunhilde orders as she walks out of the room.
"Fine." Arthur sighs before following her with a wave to his fellow knights, "Tell the others who show up late that they'll be in for a hell of a show."
Merlin nods, "I'm sure they're already well aware."
Lancelot smiles at the young king as he exits, "Make sure your show doesn't come before the victory."
Galahad just waves goodbye and Arthur turns to Brunhilde, "You know who I'm fighting yet? Because this little waiting and guessing game is getting boring."
"As of now, I have no knowledge of who you'll be fighting." Brunhilde states, "But what I do know is that you are the last hope of all humanity so no matter who you face, you have to win."
"Yeah, I know that much." Arthur snips, "I'm not some sort of dumbass."
"I couldn't tell."
Arthur stares blank-faced at her, "This is why you have no friends you know."
"What? I have tons of friends. You have yet to meet them." Brunhilde says in her classic sarcastic dramatic tone, "Much more than you."
"Sure you do." Arthur says with an eye roll.
Buddha waits bored, "When will they fight? I'm growing bored of all this stalling."
Jesus looks at his friend, "Wishing for violence is never the way Buddha." He then turns to look down at the empty arena, "But when this violence is needed, I do agree it is nerve-racking to sit and wait for a fight to decide the fate of the very race my father set the groundwork for."
Buddha glances at Jesus, "Why haven't you fought if you want the humans to reign victors so badly?"
"That is simple. I do not crave violence, and I refuse to have my hands stained in blood."
"Okay, goody too shoes." Buddha says with a yawn when smoke fills the arena and Heimdall's scream can be heard, "Finally."
Heimdall rises from the smoke as the final round of the dawns, "HUMANS AND GODS ALIKE! I AM SORRY FOR THE WAIT! BUT THE MOMENT YOU ARE ALL WAITING HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! ROUND 13! THE FINAL ROUND OF RAGNAROK HAS ARRIVED!"
The crowds scream and chant as they wait for the introductions, "Wait. Where is Hilde?" Goll asks as she looks around the perch they watch from, "She's always here to watch. Don't tell me she's too nervous. Hilde?"
"FIGHTING FOR HUMANITY'S SIDE! I INTRODUCE!" Heimdall turns to the human's side as smoke flushes the arena once more and The Knights of the Round Table lead The British Empire in a roar that shook Valahalla, "THIS MAN! HE IS SAID TO HAVE SLAIN AN ARMY OF INVADERS SINGLE HANDLEY! AND NOT TO MENTION HE'S RUMORED TO HAVE ALREADY KILLED A GOD!"
The crowd talks among themselves wondering who it could possibly be as Lancelot sighs, "He never has been the one to share the glory. It's that damn pride of his."
Merlin nods in agreement, "That is true but that doesn't matter now. All that matters is that the young lord wins this for not only his pride but for all of humanity."
Goll scrambles around worried as she hears the booming voice, "Wait! Don't start yet!" Goll yells to the ears of no one, "Where is big sister?"
Arthur rises upon the stage his mighty sword glistening in the sun, "So what do you say Hilde? Why don't we put on a good show for the crowd?"
"You're insufferable Pendragon."
SO SO SO SO SO SO SORRY FOR THE LONG ASS WAIT TIME! I REALLY AM! But well life's a bitch is all I have to say. I've been trying to write the chapter for the longest but never found the time and when I did manage to get to writing it was for so short that about 98% of the time was thinking of how the story should go. So once again, so sorry for the long wait time. I plan to have the next chapter out by Feb 20th if not sooner. Who do you think Arthur is facing? Do you think he really can win? And who is this God that Arthur is already rumored to have slain?
