Back again with another chapter. Thank everyone who gives it a read.
I don't own Sekirei.
I do own the OC.
Roku briskly walked out of the ruined lab, eyes trained on the assailant. A calm fury behind them as the AI begins analyzing.
Scanning... Scan Complete!!!
A rush of information on his opponent came into view.
Identity: Unknown
Height: 6'1
Weight: 176 lbs
Known skills: Heavy Munitions
A short list but that was all that could be confirmed by the AI. Roku knew better however, "There is more to him than that. I applied enough pressure to shatter his shoulder, but all it did was excite him." He thought to himself watching the man stretch that same shoulder.
"I say that was a pretty good warm up, now let's get busy!" The grey haired man said with a menacing glee.
Without another word he rushed in wildly. Roku, seeing this, put his fist's up ready for a fight. Unphased by the rush down, he remains in his same position watching closely.
Once the distance was closed, the man attempts a straight left square to Roku's nose. He hits nothing as Roku tilts his head slightly to the left. His mistake would not go unpunished as Roku buries his left knee into the man's abdomen.
It was nothing more than a nusance for the man though, as he barely flinches taking the strike, and attempting the same straight left again. This time however it is caught by Roku. The impact did not go unnoticed as it left a small shockwave. The strike was powerful enough that it left a slight sting in Roku's palm.
Overall though, it was nothing to be worried about. Yanking his opponent to him, he delivers a right uppercut into the sternum. The added momentum seemed aid in lifting the man a few inches off the ground.
*blerghh*
A mix of spit and blood escapes from his mouth, and his world slowed down as he felt the ground leave from under him.
This feeling didn't last long though, as Roku raised up both arms and drove them downwards delivering a double hammer fist.
*THUD* A loud and fleshy thud was made as the would be assassin crashed into the concrete.
"I suggest you stay down." Roku told the man that laid face down.
The man remained laid out flat out the ground, his cackle remained.
He waits to see what he will do next, running through every possible next move with his processor.
...
It seems to be unable to come to a conclusion of what he will do next.
"What are you waiting for?" He thinks to himself as stands at the ready.
But it would ultimately be for nothing. The assailant simply rises to his feet. No tricks, no tactics, he just stands.
He looks at Roku with a piercing glare. "You're nothing like I was told you'd be." The white haired man says with frustration and disappointment in his voice.
The red head cyborg looks at him confused. "What were you told about me?" He ask, hoping to fish out some information.
The white haired man begins pacing back and forth. "They said you were a killing machine, cold-blooded and lacking any sort of empathy." He says to Roku never taking his eyes off of him.
"I believe your mistaken, I have no recollection of taking life, nor do I see myself lacking such a moralistic trait." He says Relaxing his stance just a bit. "Who is they?"
He asked the assassin.
"Hmhmhm... I don't think you're getting it quite yet." He says coming to a halt and facing Roku once again. "Your not gonna be around for it to matter."
He begins to remove his jacket, "I'm model No.1, but you can call me "The Fury", and I'm going to kill you!" The fury shouts maniacally.
With no more words, only a haunting cackling, the Fury rushes in. This time however, rather than the wild form he ran in with previously, he rushed in with no openings. His fist up and his head tucked in, he left nothing to be exploited by Roku this time.
Much to Roku's misfortune, the unexpected improvement left him completely unguarded.
Without time to react he was hit with a left jab square in his face. The impact left him stunned. A loud ringing came to his ears along with the world seemingly brighter, too bright to see properly. Hoping to stifle the advance, he throws a right hook. His swing would simply connect with the air leaving only the sound of rushing wind from it's power.
His mistake wouldn't go unpunished as the Fury attacked his exposed left side. Delivering a left hook to his ribs, the pain caused Roku to wince before another left hook connected with his jaw.
The strike was enough to cause Roku to stumble but he managed to stay vertical. It would not matter though as the assassin was back in his face already. In an effort to anticipate his next move, Roku put his guard up hoping to block the next attack.
Only for said attack to be a knee into his abdomen, followed by a punch to the back of his head. The force so great, his head was buried into the concrete.
"Hahahaha!!!!" The Fury laughed with twisted glee standing over a downed Roku. "I can't see why the Doctor wants you destroyed. You'd make for a better punching bag than a carcass. Hmhmhahahah!" He tells Roku, tickled by his own sick humor.
All the while Roku remained down, but he wasn't out.

In a matter of seconds, Roku's mind processed that wealth of information. His head replayed the previous attacks of the Fury over and over again; all the while feeding him every tip, trick, and piece of advice that the AI could find on kickboxing.
Images of previous moves played over and over until the best possible counter attack was crafted.
"Hm... this should turn matters in my favor." He thinks to himself as picks himself up off the ground. He rises up and begins to dust of his shirt and pants, not currently worried about the assassin that came to beat him to death.
The Fury witnessed this take place. An amused chuckle escapes him, "Oh good, you haven't broken yet." He says sadistically.
"I apologize for giving you the impression I break easily." He says not looking in his direction. "An attempt at my life wasn't a possibility I thought of." He finishes with a stern look at him.
"Oh isn't that a scary look. If I didn't know any better, I would say you want to kill me." The Fury concludes in a tone of faux distress.
Roku continues to look at him unamused by how much fun the assassin was having. "Then you must not know any better." Roku responds.
The answer back actually left the Fury confused, straightening up slightly. "Care to repeat that?" He tells Roku in a threatening tone.
Roku notices how the assassin's change in attitude, a smirk flashes on his face for a brief moment knowing that something can bother the assailant. "You don't know any better. What I'm being presented here is a prime opportunity to understand myself more." He looks away again before taking up a boxers stance. Despite his imposing size he begins bouncing lightly from one foot to the other. His left and right hands were hovering around his chin. Each hand taking the lead for a moment before the other switched in.
"I have a hypothesis." He tells his assassin as he throws a quick jab in the air. "I don't believe you to be any true threat me." He says before throwing a 1-2 combination.
This statement riled up The Fury, "The fuck did you just say?!" He shouts angrily.
Roku remains unbothered as he throws two crosses and and upper cut. The power behind them was enough to make and audible whiff in the air. "Being how you proudly claimed yourself to be model no.1, I can conclude there is more of you." This time he throws a quick front kick. "Our similar tattoos suggest that there are at least 14 fourteen more." He says as he performs a roundhouse. "But it leaves me with more questions though: If there are more, why did they only send you?" He ask out loud while performing a knee lift.
The question seemed to irk the Fury, "Because I don't need any help taking you down!" He answers back aggressively.
Roku practices a five hit combo, sloppily putting together the moves trying to find what works best. "An interesting notion, but I think otherwise. I believe were sent to me as a test."
The Fury's eye twitches at the statement, his from growing deeper.
"Other than super human strength and a high pain tolerance, you aren't much of a threat to me." Roku tells the assassin as he throws a seven hit combo, his motions smoother than the previous time.
The statement caused the deep frown to turn into a malicious scowl. "TCH!!!" He was so angered by the statement that he was left speechless.
"No idiotic cackling?" He says as he proceeded to perform the seven hit combo again. He begins by stepping into a front kick, followed by a knee lift. "Maybe you've finally realized the mistake you've made." He continues with a left upper cut followed by a right upper cut and then coming back for a third strike with a left jab. He then performs a high kick, the momentum he got from the high kick was enough to give him a 360 rotation. With that rotation he launches a right straight into the direction of the Fury. The final hit had enough power behind it that a gust of wind followed. "I am ready to defeat you now." He tells the assassin. His eyes piercing into The Fury with a new focus.
It only pissed off The Fury, for this nobody to shadow box a few combinations and presume he'll be defeated. Without another word he runs in with blinding speed ready to throw an overhead right.
But with his new found knowledge, Roku makes the split second decision to counter with a straight. This would only stop The Fury momentarily as he brings his left in with an uppercut.
Roku leans back enough to only be grazed by the fist. Fury follows through with a orbital kick using the momentum from his punch for extra lift.
His upward motion was stopped as Roku had a tight grip on his ankle. Fury was left a sitting duck as he was pulled in close to Roku; and watching in slow motion, again, as a fist was coming down to his face. "Shit." Was all that was said before he was hit. A large cloud of dust and dirt kicked up upon impact.
Meanwhile, over at the ruined lab, Yashima, Yahan, and Kochou all watched from behind cover at their Ashikabi.
"Did either of you know he was capable of this? Kochou was the first to speak up as she witnessed Roku fight.
Yahan and Yashima take a quick look at each other before looking to Kochou. "...Yes?" Yahan answered hesitantly.
Kochou scoffs at the halfway response. "Do you know or do you not know?!" She asked the two hastily.
"W-We knew he was really physically strong." Yashima says hoping the answer would suffice.
Kochou wanted to pinch the bridge of her nose to alleviate the headache that was brought about by the unfortunate events. She knew however that she would need to remain focused on the battle; as she recommended on her phone what was happening.
The trio watch as The Fury gets up rather quickly before letting out a warriors cry. Getting up close to Roku and letting off a flurry of blows.
Roku simultaneously blocks and returns with his own strikes. The two's exchange become so fast every other hit becomes a blur.
Off behind another building, the man in the business suit, that followed Kochou, was also witnessing the battle. It was unlike anything he had ever seen before; but no one would believe him if he didn't get this on camera. Thus he recorded it on his phone. He could feel the impact of there hits reverberate through the ground. Yet they shook it off and continued to fight. It made him break out into a cold sweat at the idea of him getting caught.
Roku and The Fury threw hit after hit. Roku only being grazed and The Fury taking them head on. But despite Roku land clean shots, it was only a minor inconvenience for his opposition.
"You can't beat me! I'll tire you out before I even think about going down!" The Fury says through the hits he's taking. He lunges forward, finally landing a clean left straight to Roku's jaw. A cocky grin appears on his face thinking things were looking up.
His grin quickly disappeared as Roku stared at him with a stern glare. He ignored the punch, as if it weren't still on his face, and he spoke, "Shall we test it out then?" And in a blink delivered an uppercut to the sternum again. Like last time, The Fury leaves his feet. This time though Roku continues to lift, bringing his opponents body up and over until he drives him back into the ground.
His assault would continue, as he heaved the assassin upward with all of his power sending him unwillingly flying. Roku would give chase after him, quickly catching up throwing punches and kicks to the helpless individual.
The Fury, still trying to stay in this fight pulls a combat knife from a holster behind his back and stabs Roku in the shoulder. This time Roku couldn't ignore the pain as the knife in question was much bigger, and the wound much deeper. That time would be shortened as he was nearly stabbed again but managed to stop it by grabbing The Fury's wrist.
He quickly throws The Fury back to the ground with such force that a large crater was now in the open space.
Roku made his descent back down to ground level as he slowly closed in on The Fury. "Hehehe- *koff KOFF*" His cackling was cut off by him violently coughing. Blood shot out of his mouth as he struggled to get air into his lungs. "I was wrong... you're everything they said you were." He said weakly.
Roku stands, uninterested in what he was wrong about. "Who sent you?" Was the only question he had for him.
The Fury sighs as if the question was nothing more than a nuisance. Can you at least entertain me before I die?" The Fury asked in an annoyed tone.
*SNAP!* With no warning, Roku stomps on The Fury's leg at the knee snapping it in two.
The Fury looks at his leg before turning his attention back to Roku. He burst out into a belly laugh before ultimately coughing up more blood. "Dumbass, I can't feel anything!" He exclaims to Roku before letting off another giggle. But that's the type of entertainment I was looking for. Underneath the peaceful and protective facade, you were made for killing." The Fury says with a smile on his face, his voice sounding much different on the last word.
It visibly bothered Roku. It made Fury so happy to label as such. To be put the category of a killer, it wasn't a mark one should wear with pride. He was strong yes, but that doesn't give him the right to take a life. It was unnecessary. The night that man tried to force himself on Yashima: killing him was the first thought that came to Roku's mind. It was a thought that came so easily too. The scum's neck would've snapped like a toothpick underneath even a pound of more pressure. So why didn't he? Why not if killing was the first thought? If it seemed so easy? "..." Why couldn't Roku deny this claim?
The Fury sees the conflicted look on Roku's face and it only makes his smile wider. "So glad I could fuck with your head. But I think our time together is at its end. For meeting my expectations though I'll leave you with a gift. Courtesy of the "Iron Ribbon Hit Squad." He says as his chest let's off steam and slides open. Inside sparks were flying around the cavity and in it's center, a device with a countdown mechanism showing 5 seconds remaining.
At this moment, Roku heard his heart beating for the first time. Pounding would probably be a more fitting way to describe it though as he realized what was happening. With 4 seconds remaining, Roku yanks the near dead body of the Fury out of the crater he was embedded in.
3 Seconds remained as Roku flew, faster than he had ever attempted before, straight upward.
2 Seconds remained as he flew out of range of any skyscrapers. But it still wasn't enough, he had no clue what kind of bomb he was dealing with or how big of an explosion would come from it. He had to keep going.
1.5 Seconds remained as he pushed his speed even further. The air had become cold and it was difficult to breath. He needed to go a little further to make sure. The people down there: he didn't know. The people he did know: he hasn't even known for long. Kochou, Yahan, Yashima, Seo, Chiho. Even when he doesn't know himself, knowing them was enough reason to go just a bit further.
1 Second remained, whatever Roku would do, he needed to do it now. He was freezing and his vision was fading to black. With all his strength, he throws The Fury even further into the air before aiming himself back down.
Engaging Sandevistan
The AI says but it meant nothing as it was all muffled to Roku. In an instant the world seemed perfectly still and his heart was all he heard. But even these seemed to not be as prominent as the world was still fading away to him. He descended as fast as he could in order to create distance.
*BOOOMMMM!* As Roku was doing that the bomb within the Fury detonates. Ringing out ever so powerfully, the shockwave still manages to reach Roku, knocking him out in the process.
From the ground, his Sekirei watch as his body descends not aware yet he is unconscious.
The first to notice something was Kochou. "He's not slowing down." She says slightly worried.
Yahan looks hard now noticing herself. "He's flailing around too." A nervous sweat takes her as she feels an uneasiness.
His falling speed increases as he continues to fall. Buildings were coming back into range as the trio stood watching. "Do either of you have an idea?!" Kochou says
"Tch!" Yahan had nothing. The hour of the day made it impossible for her to create shadow portal in this location.
"..." Yashima was silent having nothing to say, but an idea was in her head. But she had no idea if it would work, she's never attempted it in combat training so why try now. But if she didn't, Roku would die. It was all so frustrating to Yashima, she felt like she could cry. "Shut up!" Is what she could hear as tears welled up in her eyes. A command ingrained into her head. One that would make her feel even worse, as it always felt like it was the greatest inconvenience for the adjusters.
But recently she's hearing it a different way."Please don't cry." In the form of Roku's voice rang out in her head. Every time he told her that it seemed to put her at ease; as it felt like he didn't want her to be sad. Otherwise, he would be sad. And the last thing she wants is for Ashikabi to be sad. "I won't cry anymore Roku-sama." She says softly to herself as her eyes gain a determination.
Without another word, Yashima runs out to the crater and slides down to the epicenter. Looking up, she sees Roku getting closer.
Quickly she clasps her hands together and spoke, "By the hammer of my pledge. Shatter my ashikabi's enemies." She began to glow and a blue aura exuded from her expanding out of the crater. "Gravity Upforce!" She shouts out in a powerful voice. When she did, the environment around her began to experience a change. The dirt, the debris, Yahan and Kochou started to drift away from the ground. The only thing that remained grounded were the thing stuck in the ground and Yashima herself.
The two had a look of shock at what was happening; but look back upward seeing that Roku was still falling, but at a greatly reduced speed.
" Gh..." A short moan came from Roku, his vision returning to him as he felt the breeze. "!!!" The realization came to him that this wasn't a breeze but him still falling. Though it seemed like it was happening slower than before. Not taking the time to worry about it, he rights himself and slows his descent even more.
Once Yashima sees her Ashikabi in control again, she disengages the ability with a labored breathing. The gravity returns to normal bringing everything back to the ground around her.
Due to her heavy breathing, she didn't notice Roku was descending down to her. "Are you all right Yashima?" He called out to her.
She finally steadies her breath to speak. "I should be asking you that Roku-sama." She says unnerved by the blood on his shirt and face.
"Only some minor abrasions, nothing to worry over." He says with a small smile.
Yashima wasn't buying it though, neither was Yahan or Kochou. "Minor abrasions my ass, you were stabbed!" Yahan shouts from the edge of the crater pissed at the selfless act Roku was doing.
"Get up here at once so I can see to your wounds." This time the command came from Kochou as she also had been annoyed by Roku's reckless behavior.
Roku was about to walk up but was stopped by Yashima holding on to his shirt. He looks to her seeing a heavy blush on her face. "Um... I'm really tired right now Roku-sama. C-Could you carry me." She says cutely.
It was enough to make the Ashikabi chuckle at her behavior. "Of course." He says before picking her up bridal style with no effort.
The duo up top look on with a mix envy and betrayal at their fellow Sekirei. The shyest of them somehow became the first of Roku's flock; and was now being carried like a bride. "HEY!!! Stop beating me to the punch!" Exclaimed Yahan as it was a fantasy of hers for Roku to carry her like that to the bedroom.
"You both have been with him enough, I want my turn!" She says adjusting her glasses.
"You're about to clean and stitch his wound isn't that enough for you greedy cow?!" Yahan snaps back growing shark teeth as she talked.
"Not even close you insatiable sow!" Kochou replied with a dragons face appearing behind her.
The two stared down each other with auras flaring. "... I have trypanophobia, perhaps you can comfort me while she clean and stitches my wound." Roku pipes in, making the suggestion to Yahan. His fear of needles wasn't true, he wondered if he feared anything at all. Roku just wanted to stop their fighting before it could begin.
It seemed to work to as Yahan's face reverted to normal and had a bright smile on it. "I'd be happy to.~" She tells him as walks up to him.
Kochou looked away with a slight blush, finding something cute about a big man like Roku being afraid of needles. "That's fine."
With it settled, the four of them walked back into the ruined lab to see about Roku.
Meanwhile the businessman walks away quickly from the building while making a call. He had a nervous look on his face and sweat could be seen on his forehead. He waited for the other end to pick up.
*What.* Is what came from the other end rather harshly.
"B-Boss... um..." The man fumbled over how he would tell his boss the bad news.
*Spit it out!* The boss abruptly told his subordinate.
"The girl you wanted me to follow. She's been winged sir." He tells her physically bracing for the worse of it.
*Damnit! You were supposed to keep an eye on her so that she wouldn't wing anyone else! What happened!?* Just as the subordinate expected the boss was quite upset the news.
"I'm sorry Higa-sama. She went off to a secluded area and then a really bi-" He had tried to explain himself to hopefully lighten his failure.
*I don't care for your excuses! Now explain to me why I shouldn't fire you on the spot for another of your failures!" He yells at him rather than asking.
"P-Please Higa-sama, we can still get her. With a plus one." He tells his boss in an effort to save his skin.
*Go on.* He says with his interest piqued.
He taps on his phone sending him the video he took. "I'm sending you a video sir." He tells him as it completes the sending process.
On the other end Higa receives the video. Pressing play, he wittiness through a somewhat shakey camera the battle that ensued. It went all the way up to where Roku flew him and The Fury up for the final time. It was intriguing to say the least. A man of this type of power held in his possession the Sekirei that would give him an edge. Left uncheck they would prove to be a headache. So he would simply have to bring him to his side.
*It appears you have a job still Kiryuu-san. Continue to keep an eye on them; and don't fail me again.* Higa says to Kiryuu in a now calmed down voice.
Kiryuu let's out a silent sigh of relief "Thank you sir." The phone hangs up ending the conversation.
With Higa, he sits back in his chair and watches the video again. Greed could be seen in his eyes as he imagined that power under his control. Even better, in his possession.
*Higa-sama, Mr. Phenex has arrived for the 12:00 o'clock meeting.* A woman's voice comes from the company phone informing him of his business.
"Send him to meeting room 5." He tells the receptionist. He quickly adjust his suit to be presentable before walking out of his office.
MBI
In the Office of Hiroto Minaka, he studies the video of Roku captured by various cameras in the area. Something bothered Minaka though. Not the power shown by Roku. Not this unknown assassin infiltrating his city. But instead it was the lack of information he could find.
Since he had left from giving Roku the rundown of the game he was now a part of, he had dug around for anything he could find in regards to the new Ashikabi. Only to hit dead end after dead end. It was peculiar for the boss of MBI as not much could get past him or his reach. Until now that is. And it excited him to no end. A variable so unpredictable in his game can only be fate. He welcomed it; and the mystery that came with it. "I will learn just who and what you are. Juu Roku." He says with a smile on his face.
End.
And like that another chapter is done. Thank you if you made it this far. Did you like this story? Well I've got another one you can give a read if you're interested. "Tales of The Fire King" is it's name. A highschool DXD fanfic following my OC Nigel Jackson as he has his own mission in Kuoh and beyond. If you already read it. You might notice familiar names.
Other than that I hope you enjoyed the fight scene. And the building up process to this story.
See you all in the next chapter.
