In a usually unused dorm room somewhere in Beacon Academy, Cinder and her cronies, Mercury and Emerald were having a discussion on the unknown variable that came in the form of Jaune Arc.
"So, did you learn anything about him?"asked Cinder, who had instructed her lackeys to gathering information on this unknown individual who just a month ago was considered a non threat.
"I tried surveilling him when he went into the Emerald Forest, but it appears he took several precautions so he wouldn't be followed. From what I could see up until he disappeared, he didn't take the same path twice, that way he was sure he wasn't followed. I don't know for sure, but I think this guy was trained in counter surveillance."stated Mercury, who was annoyed that someone was able to figure out he was being watched, when Mercury himself was trained to make sure he wasn't spotted when he was spying on someone.
"Anything else."inquired Cinder, wanting to know if there was anything else.
"I used my old connections to look up anything related to those freaky looking blasters and grenades he used the other day. But even the best black market dealers has never heard of any of that stuff. He either made those himself, or he has connections that even I don't have."said Emerald, who knew she was disappointing Cinder, as that was not the answer her leader wanted.
"So not only is the information we had on him a month ago useless, but it appears he has abilities in his arsenal that even I am not aware of. I called Roman's connections, and even they are not aware of these strange grenades or the rabbit like creature that seems to follow that weaking around like a dog."said Cinder, who hated the fact that she didn't know anything about someone she considered a non threat a month ago.
Jaune Arc wasn't even on her radar as she considered him nothing more than they useless leader of team JNPR. His partner, Pyrrha Nikos was considered the biggest threat, not only because of her combat prowess, but also because of her semblance polarity. Now she had to rethink things as Jaune Arc and he's mysterious rabbit like creature easily took on several White Fang and even an Atlas Paladin went out breaking a sweat. Sure they were injured, but those extremists were well trained. So she knew that a weakling couldn't take them on.
So what was going on?!

(Headmaster Ozpin's Office)
Meanwhile, around the same time professor Ozpin was having a discussion with general Ironwood regarding the same subject, Jaune Arc.
"James, do you think I did not know you tried to place a tracking device on a student."stated professor Ozpin, who knew that his colleague tried to place a tracking device on one of his students.
"The tracking device failed right away, despite my best efforts!"said the general, who didn't even bother denying that he had placed the tracking device on Jaune.
"Why is it so hard for you to understand to leave him alone?"said Glynda, annoyed that her colleague doesn't seem to get the message.
"He possessive technology for more advanced than anything we have, even in Atlas! Do you have any idea how much more this could tip the scale in our favor in our war against the Grimm?"said the general, feeling like Jaune Arc's alien technology could tip the scales in their favor.
"Need I remind you that you have a leak in the Atlas military armory! Not only did the White Famg managed to procure your paladins, but all the guns we took off the White Fang soldiers we arrested yesterday were traced all the way back to Atlas! Before you even think about adding new weapons to your arsenal, I suggest you fix that leak you have first!"said professor Goodwitch in a stern voice.
"I already have my top people investigating. And before you ask, they are my most trusted colleagues."said general Ironwood, admitting that he already had an investigation on their way.
"Bullheads, guns, and now paladins. James, are you sure you can trust those you put in the investigation. I don't doubt your judgment, but there's no way a low level Atlas soldier could be able to smuggle all those weapons and give them to the White Fang."said Ozpin, pointing out that only someone with high military clearance could be able to do that.
"I already considered the possibility. That is why I'm only using people I can trust in the investigation. I already did a thorough background check on each of them, and there's nothing the White Fang, or whoever is doing this can use against them."said general Ironwood, who was confident that these people he put in charge of the investigation could not be corrupted!
"Changing the subject. What exactly do you plan to do with those... gravity grenades then Mr Arc used yesterday. I saw your soldiers picking them up with utmost care."said professor Goodwitch, causing the general to let out a sigh, before he decided to answer.
"He appears to have installed some kind of acidic component in those grenades. Said components are designed to go off after each use, destroying all the more delicate components of the grenades, making reverse engineering utterly impossible. Mr Arc, or whoever gave him those grenades made damn sure that they couldn't be reverse engineered by anyone here on Remnant."stated general Ironwood, revealing that the grenades had been exposed to some kind of acidic component that made reverse engineering utterly impossible.
"I believe Mr Arc is the one behind that. Since he clearly knows what he is doing."said Ozpin, before he pulled up several images of Cinderace and Primarina.
"I recognize the rabbit like creature, but I don't recognize that mermaid like creature."said professor Goodwitch, wondering where Ozpin got that image.
"I used a drone to follow Mr Arc. The drone managed to capture the image of this mermaid-like creature before it went offline. I'm quite curious about these Pokemon creatures, especially the one that refers to itself as Mew."said Ozpin, before he noticed that the general was paying particular attention to the images.
"Something on your mind, James?"inquired professor Ozpin, noticing his colleagues interest in the two creatures known as Pokemon.
"I saw yesterday that the rabbit like creature's ball of fire easily burned through the paladin outer shell! Those paladins, although in the experimental phase where designed to take a lot of punishment. So for a ball of fire to easily burn through the outer shell must mean it was extremely powerful. Plus I also noticed that it followed Mr Arc's orders without question."said general Ironwood, who noticed all of this the other day.
"Don't even think about taking those creatures away from him! I know that look in your eyes, James. Plus, I doubt they would listen to you, as they only appear to follow Mr Arc's orders."said professor Goodwitch, who had a pretty good idea of what her colleague had in mind.
"We've never seen animals this powerful before! And the fact they are so obedient is an added benefit!"said the general, feeling like these Pokemon creatures could help tip the scales in their favor.
"James, you were here the other day when Mr Arc told us what happened to him. This creature that he refers to as Mew, the creature responsible for his journey appears to be a creature that is very powerful, but at the same time it has the mindset of a child. So it basically does what it wants, when it wants. Plus Mr Arc said that Pokemon are battle Maniacs who listen to him willingly, but this is because they trust him. I saw the look in that rabbit creature called Cinderace's eyes, and it's a look of trust that has been built up over a long time. Pokemon do not follow Mr Arc because they have to, they do it because they want to."said professor Ozpin, clearing up any misunderstanding his colleague may have.
"Then what do you suggest we do, Oz?"inquired general Ironwood, who knew already that his colleague had something in mind.
"I suggest we watched and see how much more powerful Mr Arc has become because of his journey. I want to see what other Pokemon creatures he has under his command, and what their abilities are. We need more information before we come to a decision, wouldn't you agree?"said Ozpin, as he slumped back into his chair.
"... I guess you do make a good argument, as always."said general Ironwood, who reluctantly admitted that his colleague was right once again.
Ozpin was right when he said they needed more information first as whatever information they had at all was minimal at best. Jaune Arc princess even more powerful Pokemon creatures and weapons under his belt, meaning if they made a move now he would retreat or something and they will never know what he has.
Gathering information was the best move right now!
"I'm glad we came to our compromise. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to teach a class where Mr Arc has a lot of catching up to do."said professor Goodwitch, before she began to walk out of the room.
"I'll go with you as I want to see what Mr Arc has up his sleeve."said professor Ozpin, before he got up from his chair.
"I'll go as well."said general Ironwood, deciding that this combat class was the perfect place to study Jaune Arc.
"Fine, but you better not interrupt my class."said professor Goodwitch, reminding her colleagues that she hated when her class was interrupted.
"Agreed."said said professor Ozpin and general Ironwood at the same time.
With that, the three educators for the future protectors of humanity quickly made their way out of the headmasters office and into the elevator that would take them to the combat arena.

About a half hour later, professor Goodwitch was teaching a class to various students from the four kingdoms, including the students that made up team RWBY, and team JNPR.
"We will now have a sparring session between two random students."said professor Goodwitch, before she got everyone's attention to the huge screen at the end of the room.
Within moments the screen turned on and began moving around like a shuffleboard, before two student images appeared.
"Jaune Arc and Yang Xiao Long, please make your way to the arena."said professor Goodwitch, requesting / demanding that Jaune and Yang make their way to the arena.
"Ah yeah! I've been wanting to test my chops against the new and approved you!"said Yang, who wanted to test her medal against Jaune ever since the breach.
"Just go easy on me."said Jaune humbly.
"We'll see."said Yang with a smile that indicated that she wouldn't go easy at all.
"Man I'm torn! Do I cheer for my sister or my male best friend? Hmmm... I guess I'll cheer for my sister since she's representing team RWBY!"said Ruby with a chipper attitude.
"Thanks sis!"said Yang, glad that Ruby was supporting her.
"You better represent us with dignity."said Weiss sternly.
"Go Yang."said Blake, as she pulled out a mini flag that said RWBY.
"Jaune-Jaune, you got this!"said Nora, who was confident in her fearless leader's victory.
"Show them what team JNPR is made of."said Ren, confident in his leader.
"Good luck."said Pyrrha with a pat on the back, before she was surprised by the fact that he didn't stumble when she did that like he used to.
In fact, his muscles felt hard like a rock...
'I hope he doesn't notice that I'm blushing.' thought Pyrrha, before she let out of sigh of relief upon noticing that her dense crush didn't notice.
"Let's go!"said Jaune, before he jumps into the arena.
"Ah yeah!"said Yang, before she quickly read towards the locker room to get Ember Celica.
A minute later she came out ready for battle!
"Let's see how long you last!"said Yang, confident that she would win.
"We'll see."said Jaune, who knew he wasn't the old person he was two and a half years ago.
"Begin!"declared professor Goodwitch, to which Yang launched the first move by running towards Jaune with the intention of striking him across the face with an uppercut!
Jaune immediately took a battle stance before he leaned back to avoid getting hit by set uppercut. He been proceeded to grab Yang by her shoulders, before he delivered a knee kick to her stomach, knocking the wind out of her!
"Ahh!"said Yang, before she jumped back and regained her breath.
"Not bad! Now let's see how you handle this!"said Yang, before she began firing Ember Celica's explosive shotgun shells at Jaune!
Jaune quickly pulled out Crocea Mors, before he swiftly cut through the shells one at a time, preventing them from striking him as they fell to the floor!
"Man, that vibranium metal is no joke!"said Yang, before she ran towards her opponent once more.
"My turn!"said Jaune, before he ran in at Yang as well.
Yang quickly try to deliver a gazelle punch at Jaune, but the young man quickly avoided it by stepping towards the right. He then proceeded to slash at Yang, would she intercepted with Ember Celica. She then used the opportunity the strike Jaune across the face, before she noticed that he moved his neck ever so slightly so that the blow wouldn't do as much damage as it normally would!
Jaune then countered with a counter punch straight out of boxing! Yang was taking it back by this as this is the first time anyone's ever successfully countered her! Jaune took that moment of confusion to charge in and activate his jetpack boots!
The young man picked up Yang by holding her by her shoulders, before he lifted her up several meters into the air and then let her go!
"What, you're not going to slam me down?"asked Yang, only to realize that the young man had other things in mind.
"No, I'm just making you an easier target!"said Jaune, before he put away his sword and and pulled out his quad blasters!
He then fired several fireballs at her!
Yang quickly covered her face with both arms, before the rest of her body was knocked back by the blasts!
Jaune and fired several icicles at Yang, which quickly started hitting her as well, before the blonde bombshell felt on the floor.
"Not bad! Now let's see how you handled this!"said Yang as she got up, before she activated her semblance.
"Wow, this is one intense fight."said Ruby, who was amazed by what her sister and male best friend were displaying.
"So those blasters can shoot different elements."said Weiss, who made sure to make a metal note of that for the festival.
"Yang is struggling."said Blake, as this is the first time she's ever seen someone take Yang's attacks and counter them!
"Go Jaune-Jaune!"said Nora, who knew that the fight wasn't over yet.
"Yang is almost unstoppable when her semblance is activated! Will Jaune be okay?"said Ren, worried about his team leader.
"Don't worry. I'm sure Jaune has a plan."said Pyrrha, who believed in her crush/partner.
Yang meanwhile jump towards Jaune like a shotgun shell being fired! Jaune meanwhile use the couple of seconds of distance between them to put on his expanding partial helmet!
He then activated his boots and flew into the air! Yang smile that she anticipated this before she jumped into the air with a great leap! Yang then proceeded to throw a punch at Jaune, before to her surprise he grabbed her wrists and move the punch away from him, before he swung her over his shoulder and threw her her hard onto the ground!
"Ow!"said Yang, before she quickly got up and jumped into the air once more to attack Jaune, with her temper clearly inflamed!
Jaune meanwhile landed on the ground, before he pulled out Crocea Mors once more! Yang on the other hand landed in front of Jaune, before she tried to punch him with a straight punch! Jaune quickly jumped a step back as Yang got her footing, before she proceeded to unleash a barrage of punches at him!
Jaune on the other hand used Crocea Mors to block the punches as he knew the vibranium it was made of could withstand the punishment! Yang was clearly growing more irritated with each punch, wondering when this vibranium stuff was going to break against her barrage of strength!
Jaune on the other hand decided to end this, so he quickly pulled out something from his jacket and proceeded to kick Yang in the stomach, while at the same time handing her something.
"Ow!"said Yang, before she noticed that Jaune handed her a gravity mine.
"Oh cra-!"said Yang, before the gravity mine went off in her hand and she was thrown back into a wall super hard, sending her Aura into the red.
"That's enough! Jaune Arc of team JNPR is the winner!"declared professor Goodwitch, while Jaune flew over to Yang to see if she was okay.
"You okay?"asked Jaune, before he offered her a helping hand.
"Not bad... that's the first time someone has managed to get through my semblance."said Yang, before she took the hand and got up.
"But don't think for a second that strategy will work twice at the festival."said Yang, who made sure to make a mental note to come up with a counter strategy against that.
"Hey, I encountered someone with a similar fighting strategy like yours on Earth. That's how I knew what to do. But don't think for a second that I'll use the same strategy twice, especially against the same opponent."said Jaune, making Yang smile as she realizes that her little sister's male best friend has grown as a huntsman and warrior.
"Congratulations on your victory, Mr Arc. You clearly shown clear improvement in your time away from Beacon."said professor Goodwitch, before she turned her attention towards Yang.
"Miss Xiao Long, I noticed you let your temper get the better of you again. You need to remember to keep your anger under control in battle, otherwise a smart opponent will be able to exploit that."said professor Goodwitch sternly.
"I... I understand."said Yang, who hated being told that her temper was a problem even though she knew they were right.
"Jaune, you did it!"said Nora as she ran over and gave her liter a hug.
"Nora, let go..."said Jaune, that's not even the Hulk hugs this hard... unintentionally.
"You really improved."said Ren, having found newfound respect for his leader.
"Jaune, you were amazing."said Pyrrha, just as normal let go of Jaune.
"Like I said."said Jaune as he de-activated his helmet."I've grown stronger in my time away."
"Wow Jaune, those blasters and mines were amazing! You have got to show me the inner components, that way I can add them on to Crescent Rose!"said Ruby, who was once again going full weapon geek.
"Maybe later."said Jaune, disappointing his best friend.
"Aww!"said Ruby, upset that he wouldn't reveal his technology to her.
"I must admit I'm glad you improved. Otherwise beating you at the festival wouldn't be nearly as fun."said Weiss, once again being a tsundere.
"That's the first time I've seen someone push Yang back. I must say I'm impressed."said Blake, who was impressed with the fact that Jaune of all people managed to beat Yang, one of the strongest students at Beacon Academy.
"Gee, thanks."said Jaune, before he got the feeling that he was being watched.
He quickly suspected that it was general Ironwood who was observing him, but unlucky for him the gravity mine he just used was now useless things to a special acid he was given my Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord. It was designed to destroy any gravity mind that he used in case it ever fell into the wrong hands, that way no one can reverse engineer the technology.
It was a waste of a good gravity mine, but Jaune had hundreds so it was no problem.
What he didn't know was that Cinder Fall I just added him to his list of people that she needed to eliminate in order for her plan to succeed!
Her plan to bring Beacon Academy to its knees!
