Well, we're in the late Cretaceous of Canada, but what animals would the kids and Wild Kratts team see? Read to find out!
The crashing of the waves of the Late Cretaceous shoreline was heard as the passengers of the Time Machine Bus unbuckled their seatbelts.
"Where are we?" Ralphie asked.
"We're still in Alberta, Canada, Ralphie," Keesha sarcastically answered, "The better question to ask here is when are we?"
"According to the computers on the Bus, we're 75 million years in the past, in the Campanian stage of the Cretaceous Period!" Koki answered, "Specifically if we're using the modern-day calendar system, we're around January."
"Oh no! We didn't give Keesha her birthday present!" Ralphie panicked.
"Relax, Ralphie. Keesha's birthday isn't until 75 million years from now," Tim reassured, "But… that means we're in the wintertime."
"Then riddle me this: How come the plants haven't gone brown and Wanda isn't complaining about the cold?!"
"It's because of plate tectonics!" Arnold and Carlos both shouted.
"Of course! After all, we knew from the Liz Island incident that the Earth never stays the same," DA recounted, "Ms. Frizzle, can you show us what the Earth looks like right now?"
"Sure thing, DA," Ms. Frizzle then pushed a button on the bus' dashboard, and then a screen went down, showing the map of Earth 75 million years in the past. The class are in awe of the changes of the planet.
"Look! South America and India are huge islands!" Wanda pointed out.
"Yeah, and Europe is just a bunch of islands," Phoebe noted.
"And there's a huge sea dividing North America in half," Keesha noted.
"Yep, all because the tectonic plates of the Earth are in different positions than where they were back in the present," Arnold explained.
"And as we speak, the Rocky Mountains are forming, but they won't be fully formed until 20 million years from now," Carlos continued.
"Say, since when are you knowledgeable in geology, Carlos?" DA asked.
"Look, me and Arn have been trading rocks for a long time. I guess you can call us rock stars!"
"CARLOS!" The class groaned.
"Hey! First joke 75 million years in the past! Now that's an-"
"Don't forget the carbon dioxide levels!" Chris interrupted Carlos.
"Chris is right, class," Ms. Frizzle said, "Carbon dioxide levels on the planet determine the climate of the time period, and right now the temperatures are 5 to 10 degrees Celsius higher than back in the present."
"So that's why even though we're in the winter time, it doesn't feel really cold like back in the present!" Wanda concluded.
"Dynamic deduction, Wanda!" Ms. Frizzle said, "The planet is a world where change is always happening, whether it is in the climate, in the geology, or in the ecology."
"Speaking about ecology, when do we see the dinosaurs?" Arnold asked.
"As soon as we walk out of the bus," Ms. Frizzle answered, "Oh, and one more thing… Hit it, Liz!"
Liz then does a salute and pulls a lever on the bus, causing the class' own Creature Power Vests to drop on the kids, fitting onto their bodies.
"If you and the Kratt brothers want to answer the question of what creature powers dinosaurs have, it's best to bring your Creature Power Vests on hand if you really want to feel what a dinosaur is," Ms. Frizzle said, "Now, let's go outside of the bus. Two by two please."
The kids and the Wild Kratts team then exited the bus, and the kids and Kratt brothers were in awe of the prehistoric shoreline.
"Well, we have a new creature mystery to solve!" Chris announced.
"Yep, and the biggest one yet!" Martin continued.
"The mystery of the creature powers of the dinosaurs!" Both brothers shouted.
"But how do we know the creature powers of the dinosaurs if we don't even know what they are?" Jimmy asked.
"Maybe we just have to compare dinosaurs to present-day animals," Phoebe answered.
"Excellent observation, Phoebe," Ms. Frizzle said, "By comparing niches between modern-day animals and dinosaurs, we can truly see those creature powers in action."
Liz then got out a card featuring some dinosaurs in the area. But she then noticed the four jets in the air and tried to tell Ms. Frizzle about it.
"Not now Liz," Ms Frizzle said to her most trusted companion, "Now class, here are your pith hats! We're going on a dinosaur safari!"
The teacher then flung the pith hats to her students and the Wild Kratts team, and they put them on.
"At my old school, we never had a dinosaur safari before," Phoebe noted.
"Well, prepare for one of the greatest field trips you have ever been!" Wanda shouted before she noticed Arnold going back on the bus, "Arnold, what are you doing?"
"Oh, checking on some things like the Maiasaura egg I have in my back-" Arnold then paused.
"Arnold, what's wrong?"
"We have gone so far back in time, the egg has de-fossilized!"
"Congrats Arnold!" Carlos said, "If that egg's fertile, you're going to be a dad!"
"Carlos!" DA shouted, "This isn't the time to crack any-"
"Guys! Check out what I saw!" Ralphie shouted.
The kids and team then rushed to where Ralphie was.
"Ralphie! What did you see?!" Wanda asked.
"A huge dinosaur breaching out of the ocean and flicking its tongue out!" Ralphie explained, "I even took a picture of it."
"Okay, but zoom into that picture," Keesha said.
Ralphie then pushed the zoom button on his camera, and the tongue of the beast was forked.
"Hey, it looks like a monitor lizard tongue!" Wanda noted.
"That's because it isn't a dinosaur," DA added, "According to my research, that's a Tylosaurus, which is more of a lizard than a dinosaur."
"Aw, man! And I thought I took a picture of a dinosaur!" Ralphie pouted.
"Don't worry Ralphie, you'll get a chance to see some real dinosaurs soon," Ms. Frizzle said before she did her whistle, and the bus then transformed into a safari jeep. "Hop on board class! We're going into the forest!"
The class and team all jumped onto the jeep bus, and it then drove off into the forest. Meanwhile, on Zach's jet, the evil scientist was putting up the screen to his fellowship of villains.
"So, are you impressed by my time travel jacker?" Zach asked.
"I got to admit, that was one of your more successful inventions," Donita answered, "But why did you decide to bring us back in the past?"
"Yeah! There's nothin' in here that'll pique our interests!" Gourmand complained.
"Other than that unpaved land over there," Paisley said, disgusted over the wilds of the Cretaceous, "I mean, look at it!"
"Uhm… we have to look for the terrible lizard thingies!" Zach tried to explain.
"They're dinosaurs, Zach," Donita corrected.
"Whatever! If we find the terrible lizard thingies, think of all of the things they would bring to us! Think about it, Paisley, you can use them for paving down some land! Gourmand, imagine all of the delicious recipes you can make from the parts of the terrible lizard thingies! Donita, imagine all of the fashion you can make from them! The terrible lizard thingies will give us a golden mine of opportunity! And, the Wild Rats wouldn't have to find us!"
"You know, you actually are starting to make some sense," Donita said, "But I still need to see it to believe it."
"How about you have your mannequin bots and my Zachbots scout the area to find the terrible lizard thingies?"
"Sure, that'll do."
"Yes! And the Wild Rats wouldn't suspect us being here…"
Meanwhile, the jeep bus was trekking through the subtropical forest of prehistoric Canada, while the class and Kratt brothers were looking for the dinosaurs.
"See anything?" Martin asked.
"Nope. No dinosaur here," Chris answered, looking through a pair of binoculars.
"Man, it'll be the end of the day before we get to see a dinosaur," Carlos moaned.
"And this day will be a yawn burger with a side of snores," Wanda moaned.
"Give it some time, class," Ms. Frizzle reassured, "We will find a dinosaur sooner than-"
There was a rumble in the forest, and then, a stomp. The kids froze up, and then a large creature walked past the jeep, the size of a giraffe with a long beak, walked on some thin legs, like a bat walking upright; covered in a shaggy coat of what seemed to be fur, pure white fur. It was on the
"Guys! We did it! We found a dinosaur!" Ralphie shouted.
"Oh, it isn't a dinosaur, but you're getting warmer," Ms Frizzle said, which confused the class.
"What do you mean 'Getting warmer'?"
"According to my research, that's a Queztalcoltus, " DA recounted from her book, "The pterosaur, which is part of the archosaur group that contains crocodiles, alligators, dinosaurs, and birds, is considered the largest flying animal to ever exist, with the height of a giraffe, and the wingspan of a small aircraft."
"So that's what Ms. Frizzle was saying by getting warmer," Ralphie realized, "Even if the pterosaurs look like dinosaurs, and are related to them, they aren't dinosaurs."
"Great, now the only dinosaur I'll see is the one in DA's house!" Carlos complained.
"Well, maybe if you weren't this eager about dinosaurs, then none of this would have happened!" DA retorted.
Just then, the Quetzalcoatlus then eyed the gang, to it, it was an instant all-you-can-eat buffet… well, in the minds of the class.
"Uhm… is it just me… or that Queztalcoatlus thinks we're lunch?" Ralphie asked.
"That's because Quetzalcoatlus primarily eat smaller dinosaurs unlike their smaller cousins who eat fish and insects," Ms. Frizzle answered.
"Can we not be inside someone's digestive tract for at least one day?!" Arnold panicked.
But instead, the giant pterosaur was looking for a running start. It then started to gallop on the ground at a high speed and then, it pushed itself on the ground, unfolding its wings and starting to flap into the air before it was soaring.
"Whoa! Did you see that!?" Martin said, "We actually get to see a Quetzalcoatlus take off into the sky!"
"Yep! A creature moment that no human has ever seen!" Chris added, "Scientists were trying to figure out how a creature like that could even fly, but now we know it takes off like an airplane."
"And using those giant wings to give it enough lift to be in the air!" Wanda added, "Ah… to fly like a Quetzalcoatlus…"
"Okay, so we did see a giant pterosaur take off and Wanda is now fantasizing about flying on it in her 'Wildcat Wanda' persona," Carlos said, "But we still haven't found a dinosaur yet!"
"Patience, Carlos," Ms. Frizzle reassured, "Sometimes we just have to have the dinosaurs come to us."
Just then, Arnold noticed a rustle in the ferns, as if something was hiding in them. He unbuckled his seatbelt to check out what it was. And just then, a long neck popped out. The neck was covered in black feathers, and the only part not covered was the pink beak-like mouth.
"Uhm… hi there," Arnold nervously said.
"Arnold, what are you looking at?" Phoebe asked.
The weird ostrich creature then looked at Arnold's egg and snatched it with its beak-like mouth.
"Oh no! Not again!" Arnold shouted, getting massive deja vu.
"Oh Arnold, you just encountered a Struthiomimus," Ms. Frizzle said.
"And last time a dinosaur like that encountered me, I nearly lost Dr. Skeledon's egg! And now the egg I found is going to become dinosaur food again!" Arnold shouted, "Come on Phoebe! We're going after that dinosaur!"
"Gee, this is really like the last field trip we-" Phoebe was interrupted by Arnold grabbing her hand and dragging her into a mad dash chase with the Struthiomimus.
"Ms. Frizzle, should we go after them in case a tyrannosaur decides to make the two into its lunch like last time?" Ralphie asked.
"Of course, we can," Ms. Frizzle answered, "Hit it, Liz!"
Liz then gave a thumbs up and soon the jeep bus was driving through the forest.
Meanwhile, Phoebe and Arnold were chasing after the Struthiomimus, which was clearly ahead of them.
"Come back, you fleet-footed dinosaur!" Arnold shouted.
"Hey, that's a good name for that Struthiomimus!" Phoebe said.
"It is? Well, I guess calling him Fleetfoot is better than giving him some insults."
"But, I don't think we can catch up to Fleetfoot. I mean! It's running like an ostrich!"
"No wonder why its name means 'ostrich mimic'. It's just an ostrich with arms and a tail."
"Hey! Maybe if we became Struthiomimus, we can catch up to Fleetfoot," Phoebe said.
"Good idea. Phoebe, May I have your Creaturepod?"
"Sure thing."
Meanwhile, on the jeep bus, Aviva heard her Creature Pod ringing, and she decided to check on it to see Arnold and Phoebe chasing after Fleetfoot. "Hey guys, so how's the egg chase going?" She asked the two kids.
"Going as well as catching an ostrich," Arnold answered, "Say, but now that we found a dinosaur, can you maybe make a Struthiomimus Creature Power Suit?"
"Well…"
"Hey Aviva, if Arnold and Phoebe found a dinosaur, you can finally do it!" Martin said.
"Yeah… Arnold, give me a scan of the Struthiomimus so I can start programming." Aviva then set up her MIK like a computer console.
Meanwhile, on the egg chase scramble, Arnold got the CreaturePod ready and scanned Fleetfoot's body. Back on the jeep bus, the scan of the Struthiomimus was sent onto the MIK's display scene.
"Okay, now this one is going to be easy," Aviva said, "The Struthiomimus is just like an ostrich, even its skeleton is like that of an ostrich's!"
"Yeah, but there are some differences, like that tail," Chris pointed out.
"Maybe the tail helps with balance, like a cheetah's tail," Tim added.
"Yeah, and the wings on the arms were likely more for display, just like an ostrich," Keesha added.
"Oh I just love it when my class knows the adaptations of other animals to solve some science mysteries," Ms. Frizzle said.
Just then, two discs came out of the MIK.
"Well, two Struthiomimus Creature Power Discs! Hot off the MIK press!" Aviva announced, pulling out the discs, "I hope these actually work, besides, I've never done a non-avian dinosaur creature power suit before. Jimmy, ready to teleport to Arnold and Phoebe?"
"Sure thing, Aviva!" Jimmy said as he got the remote, "Teleport, and zap it!"
The two discs disappear from Aviva's hand, and they reappear on top of Arnold and Phoebe. The two kids then jump up to get the discs.
"Okay… I hope these discs work," Arnold said.
"I mean, if they don't, your egg would be history," Phoebe said back, "Well, I guess we got to do what the Kratt brothers do whenever they activate a new Creature Power Suit."
Arnold then gulped, "Usually I would want to stay home today, but this isn't the time for that!"
The two kids then nodded to each other
"Insert Struthiomimus Power Disc!"
Phoebe and Arnold slide the discs into the activation button of their Creature Power Vests. They then dash to still running Fleetfoot.
"Touch Struthiomimus!"
The two barely touched Fleetfoot's tail feathers, but it was enough to allow activation.
"And, Activate Struthiomimus Power!"
The two pushed the activation buttons on their Creature Power Vests. Fleetfoot then noticed the bright lights behind him and turned to see two strange members of his kind.
"It worked, Arnold!" Phoebe cheered, "The suits worked!"
"Yeah, this suit is very sleek! I feel like running for miles on end!" Arnold added, "Anyways, after Fleetfoot!"
The two kids in their Struthiomimus Creature Power Suits then chase after Fleetfoot and are actually catching up with the ostrich mimic. Meanwhile, the jeep bus was catching up on the chase, with Wanda looking through a pair of binoculars.
"Guys! I see that Struthiomimus with Arnold's egg!" Wanda shouted, "And looks like Phoebe and Arnold have activated the creature power suits!"
"Then it did work!" Aviva said in glee.
The kids and team cheered at the moment until the jeep bus came to a screeching halt in the marshlands covered in horsetails and ferns as vegetation.
"Oh dear, it looks like we're trapped in the mud of a prehistoric marshland," Ms. Frizzle said, "Not to worry. As soon as we find something strong enough to pull the bus out, we'll catch up on Phoebe and Arnold."
"But where would we find anything that can pull us out of here?" Ralphie asked.
"Parasaurolophus! Dead ahead!" Wanda shouted.
"Not just them! It looks like there's a mixed herd of hadrosaurs!" Chris corrected.
And indeed the younger Kratt brother was right. The giant, elegant duck-bill dinosaurs were feasting on the ferns and horsetails of the marsh, each one with a different dino fuzz pattern. The hadrosaurs with the helmet-shaped crests on their heads have a dino fuzz pattern similar to that of a Thompson's gazelle; the hadrosaurs with hatchet blade-shaped crests have a dino fuzz pattern similar to that of a zebra; and the hadrosaurs with the long tube-shaped crests have a dino fuzz pattern similar to that of a pronghorn.
"We know which ones are the Parasaurolophus, but what are the other two hadrosaurs?" Carlos asked.
"According to my research, the hadrosaurs with the helmet crests are Corythosaurus, and the hadrosaurs with the hatchet blade-like crests are Lambeosaurus," DA recounted, "They, along with Parasaurolophus, are part of a group of hadrosaurs called 'Lambeosaurine hadrosaurs', the group of hadrosaurs known for their elaborate crests."
"And does anyone know what the Lambeosaurine hadrosaurs do with their crests?" Ms. Frizzle asked.
"They make sounds with the crests," Tim answered.
"Yeah, but what do they do with those sounds?" Koki asked.
"You're about to find out!" Martin shouted, "Look over there!"
The kids and Wild Kratts team then saw a Lambeosaurus with a brightly colored crest walking to the marsh.
"Hey! That has to be a male Lambeosaurus!" Carlos noted, "But what's he doing here?"
"Okay, the male has found a herd of females and their hatchlings," Chris explained, "He'll use his crest to get the attention of the females. And then, the concert begins."
The Lambeosaurus then started to produce a trombone-like sound from his crest, to which it caught the attention of two or three females.
"He uses the sounds from his crest to lure in the females, and if they like the sound, he'll have access to the herd, and have the right to breed with them," Martin added.
"So, all we have to do is to get one female to come to us, and we lasso her, and she'll pull us out of here!" Ralphie said.
"Only who here has something to mimic the sound of a male Lambeosaurine?" Keesha asked. The group then glared at Wanda.
"Why are you guys looking at me?" Wanda asked.
"You play trombone in band class, remember?"
"Oh right… good thing I brought my trombone with me if I got bored on the dig… if we were still in the present."
Wanda then got out the holding case of her trombone, opened the case, and assembled her instrument. She then played a high note on the instrument.
"Okay, go a little lower Wanda," Ralphie suggested
A lower note was played.
"A little more lower."
An even lower note was played
"Okay, maybe a little bit-"
"Ralphie! I'm trying to go as low as I can go!" Wanda snapped, "It's not like my trombone will attract a-"
"Uhm, looks like a Parasaurolophus is coming!" Jimmy said.
And indeed a Parasaurolophus is coming to the jeep bus, but it has a smaller crest than the others of the herd, and it is starting to get a reddish-purple tint.
"Hey, a sub-adult Parasaurolophus!" Martin noted, "His crest is almost fully developed, and his colors are just developing."
"Okay… but we expected a female, not a teenage male," Ralphie said, "So why is he attracted to Wanda's trombone playing?"
"As my second cousin Finch used to say 'Sometimes you need to have a coach in vocalization'." Ms. Frizzle recounted.
"Of course! Some species of birds would learn how to vocalize from older individuals so they can find some mates!" Chris explained, "Maybe the same is happening with this Parasaurolophus!"
"Hey Wan! Play that low note again!" Carlos said.
"You got it!" Wanda then played a low note on her trombone, and then the Parasaurolophus mimicked that note.
"Hey! He actually mimicked that trombone note!" Martin said, "In fact, that's what I'm going to name you, Trombone!"
"Aviva, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Koki asked.
"I'm already thinking about it," Aviva answered, "A Parasaurolophus Creature Power Suit. Just need to figure out how they make that sound."
"Looks like we need the souvenirs from the sound museum!" DA said as she pulled out some glasses from her book bag.
"Of course! The sound wave glasses!" Tim said, "Good idea, DA."
The kids then put on the glasses, and just then, they were able to see the sound waves coming out from not only Wanda's trombone but also Trombone's crest.
"Hey! The sound's coming from Trombone's crest!" Ralphie noted, "Maybe the air is vibrating within the crest, and it produces the sound."
"Excellent observation, Ralphie," Ms. Frizzle said, "All Lambeosaurine hadrosaurs have hollow crests that vibrate the air taken into them, creating the sound of a brass instrument."
"So the crest is where the sound is produced," Aviva said, still programming the disc, "And those legs look pretty muscular, so I think they were- I mean- are pretty fast despite their size."
While Aviva was still programming, Liz then noticed some flying mannequins and Zachbots approaching the marsh and then went up to the kids and Kratt brothers.
"What is it, Liz?" Keesha asked.
"Yeah, what are you trying to tell us?" DA asked.
Liz then pointed at the Zachbots and mannequins coming towards the bus and the herd.
"Is it just me… or the Zachbots and Donita's attack mannequins are coming up to us?!" Ralphie shouted
"Wait! The villains followed us?!" Chris shouted.
"But, they didn't even use the Time Trampoline!" Martin added, "How did they get back to the past?!"
Liz then showed the group a small gray and black robot on the bus.
"Hmm, a time travel jacker…" Ms. Frizzle said, "Well, I didn't notice that on our pre-time travel equipment check."
Liz then did a facepalm.
"But, that means the villains are going to use the dinosaurs for their evil plans!" Koki said.
"Oh bad, oh bad, oh bad bad bad!" Keesha freaked out.
"What are we gonna do, what are we gonna do, what are we gonna do?!" Wanda panicked.
"I know what we're going to do, Wanda!" Aviva said as she was done programming the Parasaurolophus Creature Power Disc, "One Parasaurolophus Creature Power Disc, off the press!" She then threw the disc at Wanda, to which the girl caught it.
"Me?! Use this?!"
"Hey, we used the bus to scare the hadrosaurs before, so now, you get to scare them with the warning call!" Carlos said.
"Also, the disc will creature-size you to the size of an adult Parasaurolophus, so you can pull the bus out of the mud," Aviva said, "Now hurry and activate the suit!"
"Already then!" Wanda then got out of her seat and onto the muddy ground of the marsh. "Insert Parasaurolophus Disc!" She slid the disc into the activation button of her Creature Power Vest, and then she walked over to Trombone, "Touch Parasaurolophus!" She then placed her hand on Trombone's head, "and, Activate Parasaurolophus Power!"
The other members of the Parasaurolophus herd then saw the light show and saw the little girl hanging out with a member of the herd has become one of them.
"Wanda, how's the view up there?" Carlos asked, "Better than the view you once have?"
"Carlos! No time to crack that kind of joke!" Wanda shouted, "Ms. Frizzle!"
"You got it, Wanda!" Ms. Frizzle said as got out the rope, "Seatbeats, everyone! It's going to be a bumpy ride!"
Once Tim and DA tied the rope around Wanda's body, the rest of the passengers buckled up as Wanda pulled the jeep bus out of the mud, and then she used the suit's built-in crest to send out the warning call. The other hadrosaurs listen to the warning call, and they soon all go into a running panic.
"WAHOO!" Ms. Frizzle shouted as the jeep bus was caught up in the hadrosaur stampede.
"I think I'm going to be sick!" Ralphie shouted, the jeep bus being caught in a stampede and the bumpy ride was not doing favors for his weak stomach.
"This is so cool!" Wanda shouted, "Even though I'm pretty huge, I'm running like crazy here!"
"About 45 kilometers per hour!" Koki added, "That's really fast for a creature that big!"
"Yeah, speed is the greatest defense for a hadrosaur!" Chris added, "They're like the gazelle and pronghorn back in the present!"
"But we're coming up at a log!" Jimmy screamed.
The kids all screamed, but then, Wanda did something no one except a hadrosaur do: She jumped over the log, successfully clearing the distance and not knocking over the jeep bus.
"Is it just me, or did Wanda jump over that log?" Ralphie said while still having motion sickness
"Yeah! Those leg muscles were pretty strong!" Wanda said, "I can even lift up my front legs, and still be able to run and keep my balance!"
"Speaking about running… I wondering how Arnold and Phoebe are doing…"
Meanwhile, Arnold and Phoebe were still chasing Fleetfoot, but then they came to a halt when they saw something that wasn't seen by anyone: a nesting colony of Struthiomimus.
"Look Arnold! A whole nesting colony of Struthiomimus!" Phoebe noted, "I think Fleetfoot has a nest here."
"So… if Fleetfoot didn't steal my egg for lunch… why did he steal it?" Arnold asked.
The two kids then said Fleetfoot going to his nest, and placed Arnold's egg inside of it.
"I get it… he's using the egg as a way to warm up his eggs," Phoebe said.
"So… the egg isn't his lunch, but rather an egg warmer," Arnold said, "Huh… I guess a dinosaur like him wouldn't try to eat an egg for lunch."
"But look!'
The two kids then saw another Struthiomimus coming to Fleetfoot's nest, and stealing a pebble from it. Fleetfoot then looked at the other Struthiomimus and hissed at her.
"Wait… Struthiomimus are like penguins now?" Arnold asked.
"No, but I think other Sthruthiomimus are stealing nesting material from Fleetfoot's nest," Phoebe answered, "That's why he was after your egg, Arnold. He thought it was a pebble for his nest."
"And now we have to steal it back!"
"But Arnold, Fleetfoot would hiss at us."
"Then I'll distract him, and you steal the egg."
"Okay… but I'm worried Fleetfoot might hurt you."
"Look, if I can survive getting attacked by white blood cells and removing my helmet in space, then an angry Struthiomimus is the least of my worries."
Arnold then walked up to Fleetfoot's nest, and Phoebe could only help but blush. The boy then walked to the nest and then did a crazy dance. Fleetfoot was distracted by Arnold's crazy footwork as Phoebe sneaked up to the nest and got the egg.
"Arnold! I got the egg!" Phoebe shouted.
"Great, now let's deactivate our suits," Arnold said.
The two kids then got back to a bush.
"And, Deactivate!"
The two pushed the activation button on their suits, and then the suits shrank back to a vest.
"Phew, at last, the egg is safe," Arnold sighed in relief, "Now, let's hope nothing bad will happen to us…"
"Wait a minute… Striuthiomimus are ostrich mimics, right?" Phoebe asked.
"Yeah, and they have powerful legs for run- oh no… You don't think…"
The kids turned around to see Fleetfoot behind them. The angry Striuthiomimus was hissing, and he used his long powerful legs to kick both Arnold and Phoebe, sending them both flying in the air.
"Uh oh, Ostrich Mimic!" both kids shouted.
Will Arnold and Phoebe land near the rest of the class? Will the rest of the class be able to get out of the hadrosaur stampede? Will the villains find the dinosaurs? Find out... in the next chapter.
As always, rate and review!
