Before starting, remember that if you see spelling errors, let me know so I can correct them. Since I haven't found any translator that doesn't charge me per month (something that would be useless to me if I only use it for this) and that is reliable (I mean, it doesn't give me the feeling that I'm letting in a virus).
Without further ado, I won't stop you anymore and enjoy.
DUNKIRK, FRANCE.
MAY 27, 1940.
"INCOMING!" Someone shouted in the distance before an explosion was heard, shaking the building.
Dust and pieces of the ceiling fell on Ruby, who launched herself at a wounded soldier to prevent the debris from hitting him. Once the rain of debris stopped he stood up again and placed his hands on his patient's chest.
"Come on Mike, hold on, help is coming" Ruby pleaded, looking at the young man while trying to stop the bleeding.
But at that moment he realized something.
Mike had stopped breathing.
"No no No, Mike, don't do this to me" He begged with tears appearing in his eyes "Come on Mike, please".
Ruby shook him a little, looking for a reaction, but nothing.
She then looked into her friend's eyes.
A dull, gray look greeted her.
Mike was dead.
The shot had hit his heart and left lung.
"No No No No" The rose repeated again and again, slowly retreating to a wall in the room.
She looked at her hands, stained with her friend's blood.
'I couldn't save him'
'I couldn't save him'
'I couldn't save him'
Unbeknownst to Ruby, his eyes had begun to glow slightly in the darkness.
Ruby's eyes snapped open.
She was hyperventilating.
She closed her eyes tightly and wiped away her tears. 'It was just a dream'.
He placed his hand over his heart.
This one seemed ready to explode. Ruby closed her eyes.
'Remember, inhale exhale'.
'Inhale Exhale'
'Inhale Exhale'
His heart began to slow down, slowly calming down.
Once he calmed down he let out a sigh and looked around realizing that the room was still dark.
He looked for his scroll next to him and looked at the time.
5:43 HS
17 minutes before 6 AM, I was getting better.
Ruby rubbed her eyes and sat on the edge of the bed. When she looked up she saw how the sun began to peek over the trees of the emerald forest and the birds began to sing for the new dawn.
'Well, let's start the day' She thought, stretching her arms listening to the sound of her joints 'The first thing is to find out what I have here' She said to herself, looking at the apartment.
Then he looked at the small table next to him and opened the drawer.
'Nothing... I hope everything is not empty'
Ruby then began to go through all the furniture and drawers she had available. It turned out that the only thing that had anything useful was the cupboard where food and kitchen utensils had been stored, otherwise it was free for a tenant to occupy the place with their belongings.
'Ok, so what can I make for breakfast?' He asked himself, looking at the available ingredients 'Let's see, this is cereal, cookies, coffee mmm...' He rubbed his chin trying to decide until his eyes shone when he saw something 'Aha! This is what I was looking for.'
Stretching out her hand, she grabbed a sachet box of tea made in Vale, although if she were honest she didn't remember what the tea industry was like in Remnant, mostly because before she left she hadn't been interested in the subject. But what risk was there in trying it?
Laughing, opening the package he smiled at the contents 'Well, this with some toast and that would be enough, now where is the toaster?' He asked himself, starting to rummage through the drawers, finding and memorizing the things he saw in case he needed them later, such as pots, pans, plates, glasses, -
'Bingo'
Acquired toaster.
He had to be thankful that they weren't very different from how they were on earth.
He became too accustomed to his lifestyle in England.
That would probably cause some problems in the future.
'And the teapot?'
Like now
'How come there isn't a teapot?' The rose wondered, frustrated and confused, until realization came upon seeing a specific object. 'Oh right, they're not used as much anymore.' She complained before taking the aforementioned object.
An electric kettle.
' Ugh, I better use mine.' He resigned, leaving the tool on the table as he walked towards his suitcases.
It wasn't that she had anything against modern technology, but she just didn't think it would be the same as the traditional method she was used to.
Also I didn't remember how to use it.
Although he would never admit it.
Never.
And even less to his sister.
The hell that would come with it.
'Wait' He stopped a step before opening his suitcase, he looked at the messy bed 'I better leave everything ready beforehand' He thought while starting to tidy up.
Once he finished and shook the pillow a little, he took both suitcases and placed them on top and proceeded to open them both. Then he began to take out his belongings in an orderly manner and deposited them on the bed.
In the end he didn't have much, the suitcase he showed everyone last night was the one with his personal belongings. Being two wooden boxes, 2 books, one on the history of England and one on the geography of the earth, and 3 novels along with the photo album. In one of the boxes was a tea set made up of 8 cups and a teapot that were white with their red emblem on them, this was made of marble except for the teapot, so that it could be used to heat the tea. water. And in the other box were her most precious belongings to her because of what they represented or meant.
And the other suitcase was where she kept her personalized clothing sets for her. Like his pajamas, which were red with his emblem on the right side of the chest in gray, two pairs of casual outfits, which did not have his emblem and were interspersed in cream and brown colors. One at the top and the other at the bottom.
But without a doubt the most important was the last one.
Seeing him, Ruby seemed to almost go into a trance.
She looked at the finely arranged fabric and slowly lifted it in her hands.
It was his service uniform.
His British Army military uniform.
There was even his helmet on top of him.
A dull gaze was fixed on the helmet.
Memories began to emerge.
"Ruby Rose, here you go, I wish you luck" A professional voice spoke as she spread the clothes between her hands.
The things I experience with this on.
"We MUST ELIMINATE THE MG OR WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ADVANCE!" A panicked voice shouted as bullets whizzed around them along with a noise similar to that of cloth being torn.
The places he was.
"Dobro пожаловатьв Stalingrad, товарищРоза , адназемле . (Welcome to Stalingrad Comrade Rose, hell on earth)" Said a Soviet officer as they crossed the Volga River on a raft, towards the ruined city on the horizon.
The things he saw
" Исследователи vernulized and... да ... этоеще odno iz тех ... Выуверены , что hotite увидеть odno iz этихместсвоимиглазами ? (The explorers have returned and… yes… it's another one of those… Are you sure you want to see one of these places for yourself?)" A worried Soviet captain asked, behind him a fairly large complex could be seen in the distance, The sign revealed where they were.
Auschwitz
*KNOCK*
The sound of something hitting the window glass brought her out of her trance.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
There was a crow that looked like it wanted to get in.
She looked at him, before noticing how her heart was thundering in her chest.
'Inhale and exhale' She reminded herself, until she managed to calm down and return to a normal heart rate.
*Squawk* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*
Ruby looked at the bird seriously remembering the conversation she had before arriving.
"Before you return home, there are things that must be revealed to you" commented a calm but powerful voice.
What he learned at that moment would change how he saw some people and his world as such.
One of those people was in front of her.
She stared at the crow as it continued pecking at the window, closing her eyes Ruby sighed and left her uniform on the bed. Then he walked to the window and opened it.
"Out!" He spoke, raising his voice a little, shaking one of his hands.
Qrow having to maintain his image acted like a real crow would and flew away from the window. Ruby watched him to make sure he moved far enough away to maintain her privacy, something she learned to treasure over time.
Once Rosa left, she shook her head. 'I'm sorry, Qrow, but it's not the time to talk about it yet.' She thought, first she had to eliminate the doubts that she was an imposter, with a blood test if possible.
After closing the window, he went to the kitchen to make his breakfast before continuing to organize his things. He wants to have time for herself first before formulating a plan.
30 MINUTES LATER
After finishing organizing her belongings, Ruby was sitting in a chair in front of the window, using a small table next to her bed to place her food.
The light breeze that came in was refreshing and, along with the tea, very relaxing. The sight of the emerald forest and the sounds of its fauna coming to life were music to his ears.
Ruby breathed in and out, a slight smile appearing on her face as she leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes.
I wish this would last forever.
*TINK*
A message notification appeared on his scroll.
"Ahhh sh-"
BEACON ACADEMY GUEST AREA
6:38 AM
Glynda Goodwitch walked through the halls of Beacon to complete the task the headmaster had given her.
"Take our guest to the infirmary to do a medical checkup and after getting the results, bring her to my office to plan what to do next" the director told him before starting a call with the other directors of the academies to update them on the situation. situation.
But she knew how to read the true intentions behind this action, after being at Ozpin's side for so many years.
Let's see if it's really Miss Rose.
Honestly, she herself still had a hard time believing that her guest was her young student, but there were too many points in favor of her really being one to ignore them.
Your appearance.
His voice.
His aura.
Everything matched too much to be false.
But the probability that she was an imposter was still there, even if it was small.
Stopping in front of the apartment door Glynda looked at her watch.
6:40 AM
According to what Qrow reported, Ruby had been awake since 6 in the morning. So you should have already finished breakfast by this point. So raising my hand I knock on the door.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
'I hope it really is you Miss Rose' Glynda thought.
At that moment, footsteps were heard from inside the apartment approaching the door. When it opened, he saw his guest sticking her head out.
"Oh, Professor Goodwitch, good morning" Ruby greeted with a smile as she opened the door completely. "How can I help you?" Asked.
"Good morning too" He returned the greeting "I came to take you to fulfill the task assigned by Principal Ozpin" He explained with his typical formal attitude.
Ruby nervously scratched her cheek at that. "Yeah about that em … What is the task exactly?" Asked.
The vice principal raised an eyebrow. "I'll take you for a medical exam." She responded, "Didn't you get the principal's message?" I ask strangely.
To respond, Ruby took out her scroll and showed the message to her teacher.
Principal Ozpin
Good morning Miss Rose, I sent you this message to inform you that Professor Goodwitch will be looking for you between 6 and 7 AM to carry out a task at the academy before our meeting to decide how to continue with your situation.
Glynda finished reading it just rubbed her eyes tiredly and exhaled in frustration.
"I guess it's not the first time…" Ruby said, seeing the blonde's reaction.
"No, it's not" She complained "But I'll leave the talk with the principal for another time, come with me to the infirmary please" Glynda asked, returning to her normal behavior as an assistant principal.
Ruby nodded, closed the door behind her and began to follow her teacher through the hallways of the academy, which were empty. Because the students were just beginning to wake up for the day ahead.
At first neither of them spoke, content to remain in a comfortable silence as they toured the academy, occasionally crossing paths with other teachers, janitors, and other types of academy staff. Which looked at her as if she were a new face that appeared, greeting her politely.
Once the rose seemed to be left alone again with her teacher, she asked, "Is there anyone else who knows about… my situation?"
Glynda thought for a few seconds, listing the people who knew about what had happened in recent days. "For now, the people we know about this are limited. That group, including me, is made up of your teammates, the JNPR team, your relatives, Professor Peach, Principal Ozpin, General Ironwood and a select group of their staff" She responded "Besides them, there is no one else but know something, not even the teachers."
Ruby looked at her, surprised by the response, "Just Professor Peach? I thought that at least all the teachers were aware of this" I spoke confused.
The deputy director nodded, understanding her confusion. "It was a measure by Ozpin to prevent a leak of information. He plans to make your case known, but he needs time to plan how to avoid causing panic among the population." She explained, revealing a little of the basis of the director's plan.
Her student understood what she meant: "I know, we will discuss that at the meeting anyway. I don't think I like being famous and being recognized everywhere, because something like that is not a small thing" she commented to make clear her insecurity on that particular topic.
"Calm down, everything in its time, one thing at a time" The teacher reassured her student "If possible we will try to make it go as unnoticed as possible, but I cannot promise that it will not be made known" She commented, so that her student has keep your feet on the ground and stay realistic "Unless you want to live locked up without going out or away from civilization" I joke with false seriousness to lighten the atmosphere.
And it worked because Ruby laughed a little at the joke "No, of course not, comparatively it is better to be famous than to be a hermit" She said, although deep down it bothers her, she understands that this is how the world works "I guess it's like they told me, "Hope for the best and prepare for the worst" he murmured, remembering the phrase one of his friends told him during his service.
Glynda hummed "Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. That is one of the best pieces of advice I have sincerely heard, one where you maintain hope but that makes you be attentive to all possibilities, no matter how negative they may be" He commented, keeping the phrase in his memory.
The rose smiled slightly "Yes..., a friend told me that as advice..." She said, lowering her voice until she remained silent, bowing her head and looking at the ground remembering.
The vice principal looked at her worried "Miss Rose" I called.
"Eh" Ruby shook her head returning to reality and looked back at her teacher "Oh I'm sorry teacher" She apologized "I've… acquired the bad habit of getting lost in my memories" Ruby explained with a sad smile.
Glynda frowned and looked at her worried. "Is this something common?" I ask softly.
The rose remained silent, looking at the ground, thinking about the answer: "…It happens more than anything when something reminds me of those moments, such as sounds, places, etc." He explained, "At first it happened when I arrived in England and I remembered Remnant"
The deputy director nodded with understanding "It is understandable, being away from your home and your family so much, and for so long, it is normal for it to generate lasting consequences. If this continues we will see if we can get help for you"
"Thank you" Ruby responded, thanking her for the offer.
With that said, they both ended the conversation and continued on their way to the infirmary in silence. Except for the fact that the director doesn't have the full version of the story.
Ruby had left out part of the truth.
Yes, he had had those little moments where he got lost in his memories after arriving on earth. But it was nowhere near as serious as it is now, what he has are scars in the form of memories.
The war had left a great wound in her.
But I wouldn't put the burden on others.
He had already received advice from a psychologist on earth.
She could do it alone.
I could do it.
"We're here" Glynda warned.
Ruby looked around and saw a double door with a green fluorescent sign above it that said 'Infirmary'. As he walked through the doors behind his teacher he saw a large room where there were stretchers in rows side by side, separated by a blue curtain. There were all kinds of top-notch medical equipment supplied by the kingdom for the operation of the academy.
There waiting was Beacon's nurse and botany teacher, Miss Thumbelina Peach. A 40-year-old woman with brown hair, brown eyes, and as Ruby remembered, she was known for being someone always available to help students in need.
When she heard the door open, she looked up from the clipboard in her hand and her eyes lit up. "Good morning Glynda and Miss Rose" Peach greeted, approaching them both.
"Good morning, Professor Peach" Rose greeted with a smile.
"Good morning Peach" Glynda returned the greeting "I see that you already left everything ready for the exam" I commented looking at a stretcher with an instrument table with different medical tools near where the academy nurse was.
Peach nodded at Glynda "That's right, we have to do it quickly before the students start waking up. To prevent rumors from starting" He explained with a smile "Oh at least more than there already are" He said sarcastically.
"What rumors?" Ruby asked with a raised eyebrow.
When asked, the nurse took out her scroll. "I don't know if they told you, but your return didn't exactly go unnoticed" She responded, handing the scroll to her student while a video played.
In the video, the director's office was being recorded from the patio of the academy. Many students could be seen pointing to the place, from where an intense light came out, seeming to want to turn the office into a lighthouse. Suddenly the light for a fragment of a second seemed to explode in a huge flash that was so intense that everyone in the video looked away, complaining that their eyes were burning.
"Ooooh" Was the only thing he responded, making a face, returning the parchment, then slowly turned to Glynda who just sighed.
"We have managed to calm the waters for now, the cover we created was that there was an incident with a combination of dust that a student was showing us" He explained "Although that cover is temporary as you can imagine because of how easy it can be demolished over time".
La Rosa looked at her teacher and closed her eyes in frustration. "Uhg" She complained, putting her hands to her head.
The vice principal placed a hand on her shoulder as a sign of support "As I told you before, we can try to make it go unnoticed, but we can never hide it"
Ruby looked at her "I know, I just didn't think the matter was so immediate" She responded, lowering her gaze that contained obvious frustration.
Peach decided to intervene "While I also think this should be discussed, we have a limited time before the students leave their rooms. So we better get to work" He said looking at the time seeing that it was 7 AM.
They had 30 minutes left.
Seeing the time, Ruby nodded and got on the table to begin the exams while Thumbelina put on disinfected latex gloves and approached the table.
BEACON ACADEMY RUBY'S DEPARTMENT
The next 15 minutes were used to do all the possible studies to detect any abnormality in his body. The studies were varied such as weight, blood pressure, heart rate, x-ray, vision, lungs, blood tests, etc.
The truth is Ruby couldn't say that this bothered her, after what happened on Earth she learned to appreciate every moment of calm she had, plus she would have an updated medical profile.
Although he did not want to discredit the Earth, its medical technology was quite backward compared to Remnant.
Things as they are.
Right now he was back in his apartment reading one of the novels he owned. Apparently the live decided to postpone his talk due to an unforeseen meeting with the Vale council, apparently the White Fang and Roman Torchwick had stolen an important shipment of Dust.
Due to the incident, the economy and people's trust in the council are being affected which generates negativity.
What Grimm attracts.
Ruby would pursue them personally knowing what they were planning for the near future of her academy, but for that she had to first talk to Ozpin. He wanted to avoid any problems by acting on his own, although if the situation worsened and they didn't give him permission to help, he would go anyway.
Preventing the fall of Beacon was more important than the rules.
But right now he can't stop thinking about something Glynda told him while they were in the infirmary.
Ruby watched Peach draw blood samples for analysis, while waiting for the nurse to finish her work she looks at her teacher.
"Miss Goodwitch" Ruby called getting the assistant principal's attention.
"Yes Miss Rose?" Glynda asked looking at her.
"I wanted to ask, what happened during the three days I was missing?" Rose questioned.
That was a doubt that arose in his mind after he found out what happened upon his arrival. When that happened he couldn't help but wonder what else he didn't know had happened in his absence.
"Mmm " Glynda thought, mentally compiling the events of those days. "Honestly, there is not much to highlight, the only events that occurred were the efforts of her search and the investigations carried out." She answered honestly.
"Oh, I see," Ruby commented, digesting the answer. The truth is she wasn't surprised, it was more or less what she expected. "In any case, how was everyone?" She changed the question, wanting to know how much of an impact her short disappearance had on her fellow hunters, she knew that surely her family was the worst that went through it.
Her disappearance surely brought back painful memories of her mother Summer.
The teacher looked at her softly before changing to a sad expression, she knew that her student was worried about how the situation affected her acquaintances. He knew that he couldn't hide that from him. "Honestly, everyone was affected to a greater or lesser extent" He responded: "Those who were able to cope best were the JNPR team, since they found out what happened the same day he returned. However, his team was somewhat mixed" He explained "But your sister, Miss Xiao Long, had it the worst. "She had gone into a severe depression after his disappearance".
Ruby closed her eyes with a distraught expression, she knew her sister well and knew that something like this would happen. Her sister had taken on the role of surrogate mother after Summer had left, her sudden disappearance had surely had a strong impact on her and even more so considering that she was a witness to the event.
"How bad?" I ask slowly.
Glynda looked at her with pity before answering, "As Miss Schenne and Miss Belladona informed me... Yang did not eat or move from her bed for two days, nor did she speak to anyone, ignoring her classmates and even me and the director when we went to see her" She explained, making it known how serious the situation was. "The only person who could talk to her was Tai, who was able to get her to go to the meeting we had with the director that night after her return".
Processing her sister's information, Rosa remains silent, looking at her legs. Not a word comes out of her mouth again during the remainder of the medical examination.
Returning to the present day, Ruby looked out the window in front of her, thinking about how she could talk to her sister.
What words to use.
'Damn' Ruby mentally complained, closing her eyes and leaning back on the couch 'I must talk to Yang soon, I hope my return will be enough to help her' I wish hopefully.
After meditating a little, he looked again at the book he had in his hands, it was one of the 3 novels he brought with him from earth. The novel called Jane Eyre.
Personally, Ruby loved the novel, this was the fourth time she had reread it, the story was about a young orphan named Jane and how she is, despite her difficult condition, getting ahead in a society as restrictive as the Victorian one. The story touched on themes such as morality, redemption, equality, love, social obstacles, etc.
Ruby remembers when Elizabeth gave it to her on her first birthday on earth, it was a gift with the intention of helping give her strength and hope that she would see her family again. It had sincerely inspired her to maintain hope no matter how low they were, although later that inspiration changed to drive her to end the war.
And now she hoped that he would help her to solve the problems of her homeland.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
Ruby turned towards the door and looked at her scroll with a frown.
9:27 AM
It was still quite early, she doubted it was Ozpin since right now he would have to be carrying out his duties as director of the academy. Getting up from the chair she went to the door and opened it, she opened her eyes surprised to see that it was her father and uncle.
"Oh dad, Uncle Qrow" Ruby greeted with a smile "Good morning, do you want to come in?" He asked moving to the side to let them pass.
"Good morning…, of course, no problem" Tai returned the greeting, entering the apartment followed by Branwen.
The crow placed one of his hands on Ruby's head and shook her, ruffling her hair. "Good morning too…" He greeted.
"I missed you too, man" Ruby commented at the action, hugging him.
Tai, passing by and looking at the living room, whistled, "Pretty cozy, huh" I think.
Qrow looked around in response "Me, I've seen better" He commented taking a sip from his flask.
"Yes, of course" Tai responded sarcastically.
When Qrow was about to put away his flask Ruby took it out of his hand and looked at him with a frown, he looked at her surprised "What-?" I didn't manage to ask what was happening before being interrupted.
"As long as you're in what is essentially my house, for now, don't tolerate alcohol here" she said with a look that dared him to contradict her.
Branwen looked at her with wide eyes before narrowing his eyes. "Very funny…, now give the guy back what he deserves" he said with some irritation.
"No" He responded firmly "My house, my rules. Now, instead of being an old drunk, please be a gentleman in my house and follow the rules, or that's the door" I say firmly, pointing to the entrance.
Qrow looked at her with wide eyes, not expecting that from his niece, and even less so with that tone of authority and firmness. The same thing happened with Tai who looked at the scene with surprise written on his face.
The tension could be breathed in the air while Ruby and Branwen did not waver in their gaze. After a few seconds of silence, Qrow gave up and sighed in frustration, closing his eyes. He slackened his shoulders and let his arms hang in defeat.
Ruby changed her expression to a compassionate one at her uncle's attitude "I know it bothers you, Qrow, but do it at least once for me, okay?" He said softly with a small smile.
Qrow looked at her and let out a small laugh "You're just like her huh" He responded placing his hands on his hips "Okay, but then you give it back to me" He said with a smile.
The rose smiled "Deal" Then she went to the pantry, took out two more cups and placed them on the table, inviting them to sit down while she looked for her cup and book, which she left on the table next to the chair.
Then the three adults sat down and waited for the teapot to finish heating up with the water to make more tea.
"I didn't know you liked it" Branwen commented, analyzing the cup and its design, which in his opinion was too elegant.
"Not novels either" Tai added, looking at the book in his hand and reading the small description on the back. "This doesn't seem like something you would normally read" he said, handing the book back to his daughter.
Ruby gave a small laugh "Yes, honestly if you had told me I would end up liking these things I would have laughed. But look at me now, sometimes life takes interesting turns" She responded nostalgically.
Qrow and Tai grimaced remembering what happened, they were both having a hard time adjusting to the change. Although the results of the blood test swept away the doubts of whether it was really Ruby, they still did not know how to cope with the fact that the innocent girl with hopes and dreams of becoming a hunter is now an adult woman.
And what hurt them the most was that they didn't know how to talk to her. They don't know what he lived, who he lived with, where he was, his customs, etc. Furthermore, although they could simply ask questions and make a conversation about those topics, they, along with all the other adults, were not blind.
They know that something had happened, the behavior that Ruby expressed since her arrival at certain times reminded them both painfully of the condition that many hunters and soldiers developed after going through something that pushed them to the limit.
Post-traumatic stress
They had to choose their words carefully, they didn't know how serious Ruby's case was.
They just hoped they could help her through it.
"But let's put that aside, your visit was timely since there is something I want to discuss with you two" Ruby spoke having a serious but sad expression at the same time.
Tai smiled "Sure, no problem. What do you want to talk about?" Although his daughter's expression did not bode well, he wanted to listen to her and make it clear that he is there to help her and listen to her.
Qrow instead remained silent and nodded his head urging her to continue.
The rose was silent for a moment. "It's about Yang".
Both men looked at each other for a moment before Qrow responded.
"…Oh".
Yeah
A big OH.
"Glynda told me what happened" Ruby continued "I wanted to ask how we could help her overcome the depression she was going through" She finished, looking at her father and uncle waiting for an answer.
Qrow left the empty cup on the table "We have something planned that we would talk about at the meeting with Ozpin" He answered calmly "The plan was to spend some time in Patch all together, your sister needs to spend time with you so she doesn't think you'll disappear again when you leave lose sight" I explain calmly.
"Yang right now has the understandable fear of seeing you disappear again and that this time she won't be able to get you back" Tai commented. "Being at home together should be able to help her get over it"
Ruby thought for a moment "That could work, getting away from the academy should also help her not think about my disappearance. Not being in the academy would prevent the memories from returning" He said nodding at the idea, agreeing with it.
"Exactly my thought" Tai said. "We'll see if the three of us can convince Ozpin if he doesn't accept"
"But…" Ruby began, looking at the cup that was rolling in her hands. "Can we bring my team? They suffered too and leaving for a while wouldn't help them" Ruby asked with the image of Blake and Weiss flashing through her head.
Tai thought about it for a moment while being watched by Qrow until he responded "Well, they can come too" Tai simply responded "There is room for them in the house, although I don't know if Ozpin could accept that the whole team takeover"
"Hey, old Oz wouldn't have a problem with that" Qrow commented, shaking his hand.
"I hope so" Ruby sighed.
*HIGH WHISTLE*
He turned his head seeing how the kettle had already finished boiling the water, which was expelling steam through the spout as if it were a chimney, causing a high-pitched whistle due to its shape.
"Excuse me" said the rose, getting up from her seat and walking towards the kitchen.
While she worked on the water, Qrow and Tai remained silent remembering the little conversation they had with Ozpin before he came to visit Ruby.
The morning light entered through the office windows accompanied by the singing of birds; Ozpin, Glynda, Taiyang and Branwen were present, listening to Nurse Peach present on the holographic screen on the desk.
"The results of the analysis leave no doubt, she is Ruby Rose" Thumbelina said. "In addition to that, the analyzes have not revealed anything of much value beyond what an adult hunter would expect" she explained.
"Thank you very much for the report Peach, we will take this information into account to know how to proceed with Miss Rose's case" Ozpin thanked.
"No problem, if anything else happens, don't hesitate to call me" Thumbelina responded, shaking her hand before turning off the transmission, leaving the 4 hunters alone in silence.
"Well, at least there is no longer any room for doubt" he commented, it seemed like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
"Here's to that" Qrow spoke, raising his arm in her direction with his flask in his hand before taking a drink from it.
Glynda's smile faded instantly, looking at him with a frown. "Branwen, it's not even 9 in the morning" She scolded the drunk.
Qrow completely ignored her, making a vein stand out. Ozpin looked at this with a drop of sweat.
Tai then lowered his head ignoring both of them "To think that I actually traveled to another world is…" He muttered not being able to finish before simply rubbing his eyes.
"Hey" Qrow called, patting him on the shoulder with his hand. "We'll get through this" He encouraged with a smile.
"If I know, just imagine the magnitude of something like that…"
"Well, at least we can say that my niece was the first person to travel off the planet, the Atlas scientists will be tearing their hair out to see that a girl beat them" I joke, trying to raise the spirits.
"While I share your positivity Qrow, Miss Rose has made it very clear that she does not want this to come to light from the public" Ozpin commented before shaking his head with a sigh. "Unfortunately I don't think even I can cover up an event" Thus, I would have to literally erase all records of Ruby Rose and send her away from civilization and isolated" He explained solemnly how something of this scale had so many information leaks and the extreme methods to seal them.
"Yes it is true, but leaving that aside, what will be the next step?" Tai asked looking at the director.
The old wizard crossed his hands on the desk, thinking for a few seconds before responding, "Considering the information we have so far, what we will do is make Ruby adapt to living in Remnant, I had planned for her to resume her studies as a hunter. I will prepare an exam that has all the subjects to know which ones we can discard and teach him the ones he really needs" I explain.
Tai looked him in the eyes before sighing, she knew he was right, but she also knew the truth of that implication. Ozpin wanted Ruby to join his inner circle and help him in his eternal war against the witch by the power of her silver eyes.
He had already seen this when the headmaster accepted his daughter even though she was 2 years away from joining Beacon. He had already had an argument with him at the time that almost ended in blows if it weren't for Glynda and Qrow who stopped him, but this time he wasn't going to argue with Ozpin.
It would be a waste of time.
I will go directly to talk to Ruby and persuade her in case she still has the idea of being a hunter.
After that he and Branwen, even if it goes against their boss and friend, had agreed to keep her away from that destiny. At first he thought it would take him a while to convince his former teammate to be part of the circle, but it turned out to be quite the opposite, he agreed and did not want more family members to get involved in the war between the shadows.
When he finished remembering he saw how Serbian Ruby just poured you into her cup with a speed and efficiency that only practice could give.
"And… What kind of tea is this?" Qrow asked looking at his cup and the dark liquid in it, while Ruby sat in her chair with her cup of tea in her hand.
"It's a Darjeeling tea" Ruby responded, taking a sip of it. "It's a tea grown in the region of the same name in a country called India" she explained. "It is characterized by its delicate and floral flavor"
"Mmm" Qrow hummed before taking a sip slowly, then set the cup down and licked his lips before smiling, "Not bad"
Tai looked at the cup and took a sip as well, in his opinion it was much better than any tea he had ever tried. But from the description his daughter gave him, one could get an idea of why.
That aside, she waited for Ruby to drink some of the tea as well to relax her and prevent an argument from breaking out over what she was about to ask.
"Ruby" Tai called, looking into his daughter's eyes.
The aforementioned left the cup on the table and looked back at her father. "Yes, dad?" I ask with a smile.
The dragon remained silent for a moment, thinking about what words to use before answering, "You… What do you plan to do from now on?"
Ruby opened her eyes in surprise and looked at her two relatives who focused their attention on her, waiting for a response. She lowered her head thoughtfully, looking at the tea in her hands, her reflection staring back at her.
"…I had thought about the future… to settle down and rest, I had thought about opening a bakery" He responded with a nostalgic smile as a memory from his childhood returned to his mind.
Little hands were trying to use a mixer to mix a combination of butter, sugar, chocolate, eggs, etc. in a bowl. Splashing a little outwards.
An innocent laugh present all the time.
"Ruby, it looks like you need help" Summer said with a smile as she crouched down to be at her daughter's height.
Ruby laughed as her mother wiped her cheek from seeing the mixture splattered. "Am I not doing it right?" She asked confused once Summer finished cleaning her.
"Not really" He replied "You just don't use the mixer like it should be used" He corrected guiding his daughter around her hands.
"First you have to use your arms to hold the mixer steady, and thus avoid splashing in all directions," she explained patiently, helping her daughter achieve it.
Ruby shouted in understanding making her mother laugh, after a few minutes they had finished mixing the first ingredients for the cookies.
Summer grabbed a package of flour and poured it into a measuring glass until she got the amount needed. "Now." Placing the glass in front of her daughter so that I can see it. "We will use the flour so that the dough doesn't fall apart so easily." She explained, repeating the same process. than before, but letting Ruby try it for herself.
"Is that so, mom?" He asked with an innocent smile.
Summer leaned in to see and clapped her hands. "This is my little rose." She congratulated herself, watching how the mixture became a uniform mass. "And now what follows is..."
"The chocolate chips!" Little Rosa celebrated, stepping aside to let her mother finish the work.
"Hehehe that's right" Summer responded with a soft smile, looking in the cupboard for a package of the aforementioned, proceeding to open it. Once the dough had its sprinkles, I mixed it so that they were well distributed, I used a cookie scoop to place them on a tray and placed it in the kitchen oven with Ruby watching closely with an excited smile on her face and jumping around. of emotion.
And 10 minutes later, where Ruby was watching the cookies cooking through the oven window, Summer bent down and opened the oven, taking out the tray to place it on the table, flooding the atmosphere with the seductive aroma of freshly prepared mangar.
Summer picked up Ruby in her arms, who tried to take one of the cookies. "Not yet, treasure, first we have to wait for them to cool a little."
"Ohhh" the girl complained, pouting adorable, making her mother laugh a little.
"Oh don't be angry little Rosa, how about next time you make the cookies?" Rosa asked with a smile making Ruby do a 180 degree turn and look at her in amazement.
"Oh really?!" She asked excitedly and her innocent eyes shining with excitement.
"Yes" he said, nodding in response.
"Yesssssssss" he celebrated, raising his little arms in the air.
Summer gave a small laugh at her daughter's attitude, but the motherly smile never left.
Ruby at that moment came back to reality. Unbeknownst to her, she was looking at her tea with her nostalgic smile while a lone tear fell down her cheek for a few seconds. Her father and uncle looked at each other worried, but letting Rosa continue.
The rose simply looked up and continued, "Mom always taught me how to bake when I accompanied her to make cookies, desserts, etc." He explained, taking a sip to moisten his lips, "I thought I could use what I learned from her so I could have a simpler, simpler life. Besides, I feel like I would always have her close to me and honor her for the rest of my life." He ended up reflexively wiping his cheek without realizing why it was itchy.
Tai and Qrow smiled, it seemed their daughter/niece could have a future away from the war against Salem and her legions of Grimms. Moving away from the fate that many other silver-eyed warriors had.
His mother included among them.
Something that still hurts them today.
The old dragon had a smile on his face when he heard the goal of his little rose. "It's a very nice thing of you to do something like that." He commented honestly, although he wanted Ruby to get away from life as a hunter, the fact that his daughter having that project planned warmed her old heart as she saw how her daughter wanted to use Summer's teachings to shape her future.
"You know, I have some contacts who owe me favors, they could help us with that idea" Qrow spoke, wanting to discreetly give his niece a push in that direction by helping her with her life project.
Ruby smiled at their response, but behind her smile she knew that her next words would make everything go downhill. She knew for what purpose they had both come and why.
"Both cursed men have faced each other in an eternal war since their castle burned along with their daughters, that war has taken many away. Your mother is one of those many."
That god had told him the ENTIRE history of his world and how two inept brothers, who for them had all been a simple experiment, were plunged into an endless fight. And through the actions of a manipulative woman who only wanted to see her beloved, they condemned all of humanity.
A big mess that SHE was going to clean up once and for all.
It would end everything.
And he would do it thanks to the power I give him to achieve it.
I just hoped that everything could be resolved as peacefully as possible for everyone involved.
Except for Tyrian Callows.
God himself explained that he was a hopelessly sadistic lunatic.
And from what he saw of his life and way of thinking….
It was true.
But I was hoping he was the only one who had to be sacrificed.
Turning away from his plan and returning to the conversation, he let his smile fade and seriously said, "While that is the future I plan, there is something I have to do first to be able to truly live it in peace."
Tai looked strangely and worriedly at his daughter at the sudden change in tone. Qrow, on the other hand, raised an eyebrow, feeling intrigued by that 'Something', raising his cup he took a sip, letting his friend ask the question.
"So, what is that then?" Tai asked, trying to hide his concern, trying only to look intrigued by what his daughter had said.
Ruby was silent for a few seconds, which seemed like minutes to the three of them, before answering, "End the war between Ozpin and Salem."
All sound died the moment the last word left the Rose's mouth, time seemed to slow down to a stop. Qrow even started coughing from choking on it due to surprise.
Several seconds that seemed like minutes where no one spoke, and the only sound was Ruby drinking her tea until she finished it, waiting for her relatives to finish processing what she said.
"That?" Tai finally asked, breaking the silence.
"That I will first have to end the fight between Ozpin and Salem before starting my new life project," Ruby repeated.
Qrow, who had already recovered from his cough, asked in alarm. "How the hell do you know about that?"
The expression in his eyes suggested that he was not into games or evading the topic, this set off hundreds of alarms in his head and raised a huge red flag. Her niece should not know that information unless, unless it is a trick from that witch who managed to fool even the blood tests.
Ruby sighed, closing her eyes, at the edge of her eyelids small specks of light began to emerge and fly in the air. Which turned into a light white flame.
Qrow and Tai slowly opened their eyes in shock, they knew that was it.
They had seen it in Summer.
Ruby then opened her eyes.
And from them white flames shone with impossible intensity, spread and fluttered in the air.
Both men stood up from their seats, Tai falling to the ground as he stumbled, and looked at the spectacle of power in front of them.
"H-how?" Tai asked, dumbfounded with shock.
Ruby smiled softly and got up from her chair to approach her father. "It's a very long story," she answered calmly, helping him up and taking him to his chair again. "You better sit down to listen to it."
Tai being in an almost catatonic state simply let himself be carried away by his daughter, sitting and listening.
Once Ruby helped her father sit down, she filled her cup of tea again, took a sip and turned off her silver eyes, after a few minutes of silence she began.
"The first thing I should start with is that my arrival on Earth was not accidental," Ruby explained, looking at her mug. "Do you remember the story of the God of Light and Darkness?" Asked.
Qrow, seeing that his friend is still catatonic, decides to answer "Yes, it's hard to forget something like that when you know it's real."
Ruby nods "Well the earth had its own God, in fact they literally know him simply as 'God', he was in charge of watching over it and guiding humanity from the shadows to help them progress. It turns out that I arrived on Earth by accident, it turns out that in the emerald forest there was a crack in the remaining reality of the Brother Gods" I explain "The crack seemed to be an experiment of theirs to be able to visit other worlds, that, as I understand it, put them in problems and had to leave the experiment. But it seemed like they didn't eliminate the crack and whoever ran into it would end up in the ground, I was just the unlucky one who ran into it."
"Wait," Qrow interrupted. "How come the Brother Gods got into trouble?" I asked confused and incredulous. "I understand that they have come into conflict with the God of the earth, but the way you tell me, a fourth intervened."
Ruby nods "I do understand your question, but let me finish first, I promise to answer your questions once I finish."
Qrow looked at her for a moment before snorting reluctantly.
The rose, taking it as a sign, continued "After I ended up on earth, it took a few years until God became aware of my presence and contacted me. He did it through a dream, at first his intention was to return me to Remenant but I refused to do it" He revealed, surprising his relatives "A few years had passed and… I had grown fond of everyone there, and I knew that they were going to be one of the main people affected so I couldn't leave without giving them a hand to help them. I had to insist a lot until the God agreed to let me help, and when it was all over he rewarded me with increasing my silver eye powers, information and returning home" Ruby finished, inhaling sharply, the memories were invading her.
She REALLY didn't want to mention the war, she knew it was inevitable that she would end up talking. But I was NOT ready to talk about it.
Not yet.
Silence took over the room and no one dared to break it for a long time.
Both men did not know how to react to what the Ruby had revealed to them.
Qrow was trying to process what he heard, it had generated a barrage of questions.
Who was this God who was able to confront the Brother Gods on equal terms?
Who the hell was able to discipline both of them for that experiment?
Was that earth event a war?
Had your niece participated in it?
How much do you know about the war between Ozpin and Salem?
How did he get the silver eyes and how empowered were they by that God?
Did she know he was the crow from that morning?
That and many other questions, which are added to the already existing list he had since his niece arrived.
The worst part was that one of those questions on the list generated 4 others with its answer.
Tai on the other hand felt like a Bordask had hit his stomach squarely. He hoped he could make his daughter leave the path of being a hunter to get away from the same tragic fate that her mother had against Salem.
Instead, it turned out to be the complete opposite.
His little girl has even more information about the war than he does, maybe even than Ozpin. That God showed him everything also from Salem's perspective.
And despite knowing all that, he will fight anyway.
This is not what he wanted.
She can't let her daughter die at the hands of that monster.
Hell, maybe even Yang will meddle in the matter.
Tai opened his mouth to speak, but the words just wouldn't come out.
Ruby inhaled and exhaled before speaking, calming her heart at the memories "Well, what is -" .
*KNOCK KNOCK*
The knocking of the door interrupted her.
She looked at the door and checked her scroll, raising her eyebrow when she noticed that it was 10:30.
'That must be Ozpin' I theorize as I think of the most likely person behind the door, although he didn't send her any message 'Or Glynda.'
Getting up from the seat he straightens his clothes a little to remove the wrinkles.
"Excuse me," he said to his father and uncle before walking towards the door. Opening it he found Principal Ozpin followed by General Ironwood and Deputy Principal Goodwitch.
Apparently their much-postponed meeting could begin.
Ruby bowed her head slightly. "Good morning, Director." Then she looked at her two companions. "General Ironwood, Professor Goodwitch." She greeted everyone, opening the door fully. "How can I help you?"
"Good morning, Miss Rose, we come so we can start our meeting before another setback arises," he said, referring to the emergency meeting he had with the Vale council. "Can we come in?" I think it would be more comfortable if we chat here to avoid the eyes of the students" He suggested in a calm tone, wanting to convey that a negative answer would not bother him.
Ruby just smiled, stepping aside to let them pass and extending her hand inside. "No, of course it wouldn't be a bother. Come in, come in" He responded.
The three authority figures entered the apartment quickly noticing the 2 guests, stopping when they noticed the mental duel in their eyes. Ozpin was mainly concerned when he saw the state his two former students were in.
What had Ruby told them to make them like this?
Ironwood was the first to take the step, approaching Qrow with a slight touch of concern on his face and touching his shoulder.
"Qrow" He called worried, seeing that he slightly moved his head in his direction recognizing the general, he continued "Qrow, what happened?" He asked looking at both him and Tai, who was holding his head looking at the table.
In his eyes you could see the chaos of feelings he felt. Pain, anger, denial, etc.
Qrow slowly stood up without looking at the general and turning his back to him. "We're just...we're talking about things, Jimmy." He answered before letting out a tired sigh. "We...need a moment, excuse us." He finished by moving the chair and walking towards Tai. "Come on, Tai." "Let's go have something to drink." He spoke to his best friend.
Tai didn't respond, but he didn't resist when Qrow grabbed his arm and led him towards the door, ignoring Ozpin, Glynda and James, who were looking at them with concern and intrigue.
Once he reached the exit, he looked at his daughter who was still holding the door handle, leaving the way clear, who looked at him with sadness in her eyes.
Ozpin watched as Ruby followed her familiars a few seconds after they walked through the door, hanging on for a moment before leaving.
Ozpin looked at his companions who had the same expression of confusion and concern as him. What had Miss Rosa told them that even Qrow was like that?
"I've never seen Qrow like this," Glynda commented, looking at her circle mates. "And Tai... the only time I saw him like this was the day we told him the news about Summer."
James nodded in agreement with the vice principal. "It's true, I guess they didn't like what they heard." He spoke before looking at the principal. "Oz, what do you think Miss Rose told them?" He asked his friend.
"Ohm" Ozpin held his chin pondering the answer "I honestly don't know" He answered honestly "But it might be about what he wants to do in the future."
Glynda and James looked at each other and grimaced, they still remembered the face Tai made when he heard Ozpin's plan for Ruby. How his face scrunched up in such a way that it looked like he was about to punch Ozpin.
They honestly couldn't blame him.
At that moment they heard footsteps coming from the hallway that were approaching quickly. They then saw Ruby trot into the apartment and quickly close the door.
"Sorry for the delay" He apologized, turning to look at them, tilting his head a little.
Ozpin closed his eyes and shook his head, a calm smile adorning his face. "You don't have to apologize Miss Rose, I interrupted the meeting you were having with your relatives and did not announce my visit." Ozpin apologized instead as Ruby walked towards the room. table.
"Oh it's okay, it's okay, I understand you have a tight schedule being the headmaster of Beacon and having a seat on the council, and all that" He responded motioning for them to come over and take a seat as well "Would you like some tea?" He asked taking the cups from his father and uncle, and leaving them in the dishwasher.
Glynda smiled in surprise, she had liked that discovery. "Of course, we would love to." She responded, making it clear that there was no negative option as an answer for her two companions.
Ozpin became nervous, since Glynda looked at him discreetly, gaining a slight danger in her eyes for a second. Wisely he didn't say anything and just nodded.
James just looked at Ozpin with a drop of sweat, that was what he got for making the most feared teacher in his own academy angry.
Even he wouldn't make her angry just for making a joke.
The three protectors of Remnant accepted the invitation and sat down at the table, with Ozpin at one end and his companions at their sides. La Rosa, meanwhile, looked for three new cups and began to prepare more tea. Once the water had boiled, she prepared the cups and served them to her guests. And when he finished he sat down at the other end of the table to face Ozpin.
When Glynda tried it, taking the first sip, she opened her eyes in surprise at the completely new flavor she experienced. Then I simply close my eyes and enjoy the flavor in a longer sip, analyzing the flavor and exhaling once I'm done.
A peaceful smile adorning his face.
"I must say that I was surprised, Miss Rose," Glynda commented with as much sincerity as possible. "What kind of tea is this?" Asked.
"It is a Darjeeling tea, it is native to the world I visited, it stands out for its delicate and floral flavor" I explain.
"Mm, I see," he commented, continuing silently with his tea, enjoying every second of it.
Ozpin and James looked between them in surprise, then tried the drink offered to them for themselves. And they understood why.
"Although I am not someone who likes to drink tea on my own, I must say that of all the ones I have tried so far this is one of the best" I think the general is a little more relaxed than usual, one of the attributes of this type of tea.
Ozpin nodded in agreement with his friend, he would always prefer coffee, but he couldn't deny that he was quite good for you. Gently lowering the cup he cleared his throat a little to draw attention to himself.
"While I enjoy offering us something to drink, I think it would be best to start discussing the Goliath in the room," he said, looking at his student.
Ruby, understanding what he meant, nodded. "I think it would be best, so we don't drag the matter out any longer." Supporting what her director said, she drank a little from her cup, and continued, "So, what is the plan you've come up with so far?" He asked looking at his director.
Ozpin crossed his hands "Well, the first step we planned was to take a theoretical/practical exam" He said, Ruby raised an eyebrow "The exam will include all the topics that you would have to have passed to graduate from the academy, it will be just to see." "What topics can be discarded from the curriculum" I explain "And if you pass the exam with a perfect score, we will give you the title of hunter."
Glynda taking the continuous revelation "The exam would have general academic topics such as mathematics, history, chemistry, as well as those pertaining to the hunter career such as Grimm studies, combat medicine, weapons workshop and combat to name a few" I clarify to the vice principal, since she had personally participated in its creation. "Obviously this will be distributed throughout the days due to the enormous number of subjects and throughout the evaluation process, others."
"There will also be combat tests against certain types of Grimm captured in a controlled environment, that will include species of Grimm that are very rare to find and the number with which they are expected to be found" The general added, showing that it was not a Just another exam of the bunch.
She would have to EARN her title as a hunter if she passed it.
It was acceptable considering the circumstances.
"I see," commented the Rose, "Then what will happen? "Will I still be on team RWBY?" Asked.
Ozpin hummed "That will depend on the results of the exam, but in any case if you pass it, what would you prefer?"
Ruby did not hesitate in her response, "I would like to rejoin my team, I don't think my teammates would appreciate it if I didn't return with them and even add a new member to fill the void that would remain."
James raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Are you sure? That would imply that the portal incident becomes public, I thought you wanted to avoid that" The Atlas general expressed his confusion.
"While it is true…" La Rosa sighed, "I know that it will not be possible to prevent this from becoming public sooner or later, the news from the academy takes a while to reach the city, it will take at least a week. Likewise, with the incident of my arrival in your office, rumors are already circulating, my situation will not last a month before being public" I explain "In addition, I would like to continue leading the team and help them in their training with all the knowledge and experience that I have." I was accumulating."
Glynda doing the math in her mind muttered, "That would be adding the two weeks of the exam, it would give a total of three weeks for a containment strategy."
"Rather, there would be four," Rosa corrected her teacher, earning her intrigued look. "If they accept something I had in mind," she quickly clarified.
"And that would be…" Ozpin questioned.
Ruby then told them about Tai and Qrow's plan to spend at least a week at their home in Peach with their team before returning to the academy, all as a way to help them overcome the shock of their sudden disappearance. .
Especially the depression his sister Yang had suffered.
Ozpin, upon hearing the plan, considered it, he had been informed of the mental state of the young women of team RWBY, so he saw the benefits of carrying out the plan. Furthermore, having extra time would allow them to develop more and better contingency methods to prevent their student's situation from becoming the front page of the newspapers, making it go as unnoticed as possible.
"That sounds like a good plan," Ozpin commented. "I wouldn't see a problem in carrying it out."
Glynda considered it a bit, remembering the conversation they had in the infirmary, finally relenting. "I don't see anything wrong with it, but ask your classmates first. This means that they will have to catch up on a lot more study material" He clarified firmly, looking seriously at his student.
Ruby didn't argue. "No problem, it's your decision at the end of the day."
James, who had remained silent until they concluded that topic, saw his opportunity to speak. "Miss Rosé, I couldn't help but wonder when you mentioned it. But what knowledge and experience were you referring to that you acquired?" He asked cautiously, ignoring the subtle glare Glynda and Ozpin gave him.
Ruby without stuttering replied "I think you already know, didn't Qrow inform you?" I ask confused.
Ozpin felt a little uneasy, and tried to pretend not to know anything. "I wouldn't know what you're talking about, Miss Rose."
"That's weird, I thought he would have told you about the uniform I had that he saw me holding this morning when you sent him to watch me," Ruby commented with complete disinterest before finishing her cup and refilling it.
Unlike his disinterest, the three adults on the other side of the table widened their eyes in shock and almost jumped, in the general's case he directly stood up. And how to blame them, he literally told them to their faces that he knew that crow was his uncle.
"How do you know that?" The general asked alarmed, with his hand on the verge of drawing his revolver.
"James calm down!" He tried to appease the vice principal by extending an arm toward Ironwood.
The incredulous general looked at her and was about to respond to Glynda until the calm, but serious voice of the director spoke.
"Miss Rose" Ozpin began, looking into his student's eyes. "Could you explain to me how you obtained that information?" He asked, although the tone was more of a demand and he would not accept a negative as an answer.
Ruby, without looking intimidated by her director, closed her eyes. "That would be a long story." She responded, opening her eyes again with the power of the silver eyes activated.
Ozpin could only open his eyes with disbelief and surprise printed on his face, getting up from the chair next to his deputy director who covered her mouth with her hand. But in his eyes you could see the same feelings as him.
Even the general put aside his hostility, but took a step back.
The rose with a calm smile on her face only managed to say.
"I would recommend that you sit down, it's going to be a long story."
To be continue
Hello everyone, I hope you liked chapter 3 of this story. So far it is the longest of all, with 11,000 words. After so much time I managed to finish the chapter, although I could have done it faster thanks to the holidays.
But leaving that topic.
What did you think of how I represented Ruby's trauma with the war?
I honestly think I did it so well, if she has any advice I'm all ears.
On the other hand.
Do you want the next chapters to be as long as this one or shorter?
If you think this is a bit exaggerated and the number of words should be reduced in order to finish the chapters faster.
And before saying goodbye I must give the warning that chapter 4 may take a while to come out, since I only have 2 months of vacation left before starting university. I honestly want to take a break from this project and finish another one I have (Remember that I see this as a Hobby of something I like and not task 2). Although don't worry, it's simply writing the chapter of a series, so it won't take long.
I will use it to practice a little how to describe scenes, and to be able to improve the quality of writing if possible.
Without further ado, I wish you a happy day, afternoon or night.
Depending on when they read it.
