Daniel, Cream and Tails: Musical Maestros

(Author's Notes: Hey everyone! I hope all of you are doing all right! It's been awhile, but again I had other assignments and obligations to perform. But now, all set to work on this chapter!

Before I say or do anything else, I wish to give glory and honor to the Lord. Jesus, thank you for everything! Thank you for helping me, my family, my friends and everyone else on this planet that needs you very much. Thank you God for your forgiveness, your mercy, your grace and your wisdom. Continue to be with me, my family, my friends and more out there Lord that continue to seek you out! Glory to you God for the gift of imagination you have given me, glory to you Jesus for the excellent and real friends that I have! In both real-reality and also online here at this site!

I still continue to pray and hope to see the good kind of changes come back to the world, to the places and to the people. I also sincerely hope and pray that my various works, such as my Disney/Toho specials, my Danny Phantom x Dragonball crossover & my Star Vs. story all gain more reviewers and followers.

And before anything else, I wish for the people to take a look at the stories made by my excellent friends; Authors pinkstoryteller and SaurusRock625. Their works are just incredible on many levels, and deserved to be recognized & realized! So please, go forth and read & review their works! That is my Christmas request!

I also heard some… disturbing and sad news from my friend Author Dreams Come True 996 concerning certain cartoon/comic/movie series. This has sadly increased my disappointment with certain subjects, and also with current media and mainstream in many fields. But it has increased my resolve to stick with the Truth and more that exists in the past. To also increase my defiance against today's current mainstream, society and culture that is truly killing many things now.

I wish to do this for my Tia Pamela Espurova-Allen. She is working with police and other official groups to locate and bring home a missing girl that is part of a family she works with & has befriended. Her name is Lina Khil, a little girl that was taken on December 20th, 2021. The search is still on for her, but so far… no luck.

Her information is this: She is three years old, hair brown, eyes brown, race Afghan, weight 55 lbs. & height 4'0. If any can help to locate and find her, please do so and notify the proper authorities. Hoping and praying still that she is found alive & returned to her family.

I do not own the plot, my new Author friend does. Neither of us own Sonic X, as it is a television animated series that was created in Japan. It was directed by Haijime Kamegaki, produced by Takeshi Sasamura & Tadahito Matsumoto. The original network is was broadcasted from is TV Tokyo in Japan, and in the United States by many other networks such as Disney Channel, Jetix, Fox, 4Kids TV and more. It ran from April 2003 to April 2005.

Also, will be utilizing a level or so from the video game Sonic Forces even though I have never played the game itself.

Now, on with the story!)

It was about 2:00 p.m., the scene now was the wide blue ocean. White fluffy-looking clouds were floating lazily above the deep royal-blue colored waters, the waves lapping gently as they rolled with the current. Right now, Vanilla Rabbit was flying over the waters in Amy's plane. She looked down below from her seat, taking in the majestic, expansive view of the ocean. She managed to see a pod of dolphins down below, the playful sea mammals leaping out of the water fast as they streaked by.

The mature motherly beauty giggled softly and said to herself, "Now that is a wonderful sight to see. I really must remember to take Tails and Cream to the beach one of these days. Maybe we can see dolphins and other sea life there.". She and Cream used to take trips to the beach, but the trips were few and far in-between due to distance.

Vanilla had been waiting patiently in the driver's seat all this time, the Auto-Pilot device fully in control as it zoomed towards Angel Island. She had seen the landscape go down below, seeing the various land forms and also the many beings that went to and fro about their business. She also saw some birds in the air, a particular young eagle-like bird that tried to race her but sadly could not keep up with the aircraft. Vanilla found it amusing, but she did wish the young bird good luck in getting better.

And now, she was enjoying the ocean view until the computer made a beeping sound with a red light going off and on. She looked at the control console a bit curious, but had not touched anything since she was no pilot or computer expert like her son Tails and Amy. A voice that was in Amy's voice came from the control box as it announced, "WE ARE APPROACHING OUR DESTINATION OF ANGEL ISLAND. WE WILL BE ARRIVING IN FIVE MINUTES.".

And true to form, Vanilla looked up and saw the large floating island in the distance. No matter how many times she saw it, it always took her breath away.

The entire island was an ecosystem all to itself; it had a tropical jungle, a temperate forest, an ancient city that had various undersea pathway, marble ruins that was once called home by the Echidna citizens of the distant past, a frozen wasteland area, a desert area complete with a deserted village and pyramid, a single but tall & active volcano with twisting crystal-filled tunnels created by said geological marvel & finally an Echidna-built sanctuary that led to the sky!

It even had a place that once housed a carnival, but it had long since been in disrepair & the jungle swallowing it up.

The entire island floated in place due to the Super Emeralds and Master Emerald that were hidden deep within a special sanctuary within the island's interior. Said emeralds were ten times larger than the Chaos Emeralds, and one-hundred times more powerful! It was this power that had caused the island to lift itself from the ocean and float in the air many centuries ago.

Vanilla was told by Knuckles about the island's history, since he did trust her with the information. But that is a story for another time.

The plane zoomed towards the top part of the Sky Sanctuary area, where Vanilla could see Knuckles waiting for her on one of the platforms. He was standing there, looking to the craft with mild surprise on his face. It seems that he was expecting something else to come, not Amy's aircraft. When said vehicle landed with perfect accuracy on the platform a fair distance from him, the canopy opened up & Vanilla emerged from it with flowing grace and dignity.

Knuckles spoke in a surprised tone, "Miss Rabbit? Wow… you can faster than expected! I had assumed that you were going to take a regular airplane to come here, and it would be long trip.".

The motherly beauty stepped on the platform, giving Knuckles a smile as she had her medical bag in her hand. It was large and white, the red cross on it which was a symbol that hospitals used. She replied in a kind voice, "Yes, it seemed that I ran into some fortune as Amy Rose was at my home when I got your call. She was generous to let me use her plane, which had an auto-pilot feature that let me to come here.".

The warrior echidna saw that it did make sense. While Vanilla was a capable healer and potent woman in her own right, flying an aircraft on her own was something that she was good at.

Vanilla then stated, "Now, how about we go and see Silver. Where is he?".

The rival of Sonic answered her, "Oh, he's in the Hidden Palace zone. We were training there until… well, I got a bit carried away…". He said the last part in a sheepish tone, causing Vanilla to frown at him. He flinched a bit from seeing it on her face.

Now let it be known that Knuckles had seen many things in his life, many of which would make many a being fleeing for their lives. He had always stood his ground and met it with stoic resolve. But… a frown of displeasure from certain females like Amy, Cream, Rouge… and especially from Vanilla made him want to not displease them any further.

The motherly beauty sighed and spoke in a gentle tone, "Okay then, let's go see him. Lead the way please, Mr. Echidna.".

Knuckles got himself back together, nodded and gestured for her to follow him. The two walked away from the plane, going down some steps and towards a tall white structure that was hollow on the inside, save for a red orb with blue rings around it in the middle of the structure. It was a Teleport Sphere, a platform made by Knuckle's ancestors many years ago. When one stood on it, they would be teleported in a crimson beam of light to anywhere within the Sky Sanctuary!

However, the major flaw in it was that it could only teleport upward and that it was limited to the particular zone. However, the problem was fixed six months ago thanks to Tails. He managed to decipher the ancient language of the echidnas, tinkering around with some of the device and managed to actually upgrade them! In fact, he found a footnote from one of the echidna technician that they WERE planning to upgrade them later.

However, certain circumstances had forced them to abandon the project… and that was the complete evacuation of the island when things started to get very rough.

So after some tinkering and programming, the teleporting devices were upgraded! Now one can step onto it, and then call out where they wished to go! They could be teleported anywhere on the island, and in the zones as long as there was another Teleport Sphere there.

As they made their way to the structure, Vanilla spoke once more. It was her thoughts being speaking outloud on automatic reflex as she said softly, "I really hope that young Daniel is doing okay back home…".

Knuckles looked to her with a puzzled look on his face and asked in a tone that mirrored the emotion, "Daniel? Who is Daniel? A friend of yours?".

Vanilla looked to him and replied, "Oh! I believe that I need to tell you something that occurred just some hours ago". The two stepped on the Teleport Sphere, Knuckles calling out the name of the destination & the two being engulfed in crimson light. A strange sound was made before they vanished.

Needless to say, Knuckles would be surprised on what Vanilla would tell him when they reached their destination.

~At the Rabbit estate~

While all of this was going on, Tails was just finishing up his little music lessons with Daniel and the others. He had explained to them the meaning of each note, how it was to be played on their unique instruments & also experimenting with the different sounds. It seemed that the group were decent when they played together, even if it was only for a few moments.

After hearing them play together for a few notes, Tails spoke to them in an honest tone, "That's actually not too bad! If we continue to practice like this for some time, we'll be all set to present Mom with our music!".

Daniel smiled and remarked in a joyful tone, "Thank you Tails! I really want to do my best for Miss Rabbit!". The young man was indeed a quick learner despite his age, and he did have talent but it needed more practice and work. He was only seven years old after all.

The two-tailed fox looked to his friends and little sister and stated, "Okay! Now that we got the basics down, time to practice! We'll go slow and work our way from there, since you all are new at this.". The group nodded, as they were all novices and needed to go slow in order for them to become better with time.

Tails took out the pages of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik - 2nd Movement by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, handing to the group their own copies. He looked to Amy first and said, "Okay, we'll start with a little bit of this. We'll practice on the section, and stop when we hit the dark solid black line there. Bit by bit, we'll practice until we can get it right smoothly.".

With agreements all around, the group got their various instruments all ready. Danny was holding his acoustic guitar at the ready, Amy holding her mini-harp close, Cheese hovering over his keyboard piano & Cream with her violin all set. Tails raised his left hand like the classic conductor of old, gazed at the ones he was working with… and brought down his hand to begin the play!

At first, it was a bit jumbled up due to the differences of the instruments. However, Tails was not one to just give up easily. He was patient, and it showed as he gently guided each of them as best he could.

An hour passed and the practice was going rather well. Like Tails had stated, it was slow but smooth as the others were getting the hang of reading the musical notes and playing it accordingly with their instruments. Big and Froggy were enjoying the music and the relaxation as they leaned against a tree, but it was Froggy who soon noticed something. While Tails was giving a few tips to Cream, the small frog hopped up and down while croaking.

Big turned his eyes upward, reach up with both large hands and gently plucking his hopping amphibian friend off his head. He held the moist green creature in his cupped hands and asked, "Froggy? Froggy, what's the matter?".

Said animal jumped and with his left foot, pointed to a certain object that was on one of the workbenches. Big looked in the direction, and saw something that made his eyes go a bit wide with wonder and awe. He called out, "Ummm… Tails. I think something is happening to your plant.".

The two-tailed fox had a confused look on his face as he turned to face Big. He looked at him briefly, then turned to the workbench he put Cosmo at… and his eyes widened considerably as he was seeing something he had dreamt of seeing for some time! The others followed his line of sight, and they too were mesmerized as they saw something that took their breath away.

During the time that they had been practicing, the flower sprout that was Cosmo had been moving with the music! It has been studied that plants could actually perceive many sensations such as light, touch, scent, wind and even gravity! And also to respond to it accordingly. While music could not make plants grow, the audio cues could help them more in surviving & thriving in certain habitats.

And it seemed that the music was giving Cosmo some much needed stimulation! She was now glowing with bright green light, spinning like a top and slowly pulling herself out from her potted place! Gasps filled the air as they beheld what was like a star that was shining just for them. The light gradually grew as the bulb spun, and even though it was bright, they could see the shadowy outline of the sprout.

Daniel hid behind Amy, peeking out from behind her to still see the wondrous sight. If something bad happened, he would count on Amy to protect him. He trusted her that much.

After some moments… the sprout enlarged and took a different shape… a very familiar shape that made Tails gasp in surprise and also hope! The light slowly died down, and in its place was the form of… Cosmo!

The others were very much stunned and surprised to see her back, though Danny was confused. He looked up to Amy and asked in a soft tone, "Amy, who is she?".

The pink hedgehog looked down to her new friend, quickly remembering that he did not know Cosmo at all. She answered, "That is Cosmo, Danny. She is a good friend to us, especially to Tails. She's a plant alien.". The little human's eyes widen at hearing that Cosmo was an alien, as she looked different from the aliens that he had seen in movies back home. He wondered if she could levitate a bike and fly it through the air like a certain brown alien he saw in a movie once…

Cosmo slowly levitated back down to the ground, her feet touching the earth with grace. On closer inspect, they saw that Cosmo was slightly short then before. In fact, she looked to be just about Tails' current height. And also that her coloring was lighter than before. Tails moved closer to her, his heart beating fast at seeing the one who had captured it some time ago.

The sentient plant-alien's eyes opened, blue eyes adjusting to the light and looking directly at Tails. The two-tailed anthro fox stood still now, mesmerized by the blue orbs as Cosmo stared at him. After a moment or two, she smiled softly and spoke in the same manner these words, "Tails… I'm back.".

That set the young lad off, who had a big watery smile on his face & his eyes showing tears. But they were not tears of sadness, but rather of joy as he rushed up and hugged his friend! Cosmo was a bit startled by the sudden action, but the smile never left her face as she embraced back. Tails was just so happy that Cosmo was no longer a mere plant, but the being who had taken his life and heart on a wild ride some time ago!

Cosmo also had some moisture in her eyes, also glad to be back from her budding sprout state & back to humanoid form like so. Despite being reverted back to basic plant form, she still retained her memories of everything. But the process of going from seed to sprout, then humanoid plant was quite the long process. Longer than any other regular plant on either Earth or Mobius!

But it seemed that the music that came from Tails whenever he played his violin when he could actually stimulated her & quickened the process! And after hearing the music from the others, it seemed to be just the right kind needed at exactly the right time!

After some time, Tails slowly and reluctantly eased up on the hug but he never let go of Cosmo. He looked into her beautiful face and spoke in a tone that was soft but full of emotion, "Hey Cosmo… welcome back!".

The space beauty smiled right back and replied in a cheery tone, "Good to be back Tails. Good to be back… and back with you.". The honest words that just flowed forth like so made the two of them blush, but they did not mind at all.

Cream soon stepped forward, causing the two to break their gazes from one another and look to the adorable bunny girl. Said being spoke in a tone that was full of hope, "Cosmo… is that really you?".

She smiled as she distanced herself just a small bit from Tails & held out her arms. Cream smiling back and laughing in delight as she rushed to hug her friend! Both embraced, the two laughing in innocent joy as the two friends who were like sisters reunited. Cheese cheered for joy and joined in, flying over and swirling above the duo.

Amy sniffed as joyful tears were in her eyes, glad to see her friend back & also that her memories were still intact after what had happened. She started to walk towards them, Daniel still hiding behind her but now following. Once she got close enough, Amy waved to her and called out, "Hey Cosmo! Good to see you up and about again!".

The alien girl looked up to her, smiled and replied in a cheerful tone, "It's good to see you again Amy! And… oh! Who is that behind you?".

Danny ducked his head behind Amy, still rather shy. The pink hedgehog beauty looked to him, smiled softly and said in an encouraging tone, "It's okay, sweetie. She's a friend, and she won't hurt you. I promise you that.". The words spoken by his puppy-crush had the desired effect, as young Daniel trusted Amy and slowly but surely emerged from behind her. Though reasonably, at least to him, he stayed close to her side.

Cosmo looked to the human before her, seeing that he was younger & different from Chris. She did her best to give an air of safety, smiling gently at the young lad. She asked in a polite tone, "Hello there. My name is Cosmo. What is yours?".

The human child answered back, "H-Hi there C-Cosmo. My name is Danny… Danny Clark.".

Tails was the one who spoke up after him, "Danny's our new friend Cosmo. He accidentally got here to Mobius, and his parents are here as well."

The alien beauty looked to Tails and asked where his parents were at. He answered, "Well… his parents got sent to a different location then he was. But don't worry, as Team Chaotix is on the case! Hopefully they'll find them and bring them back here in a couple of days.".

Cosmo remarked, "I see. So everything is truly alright in the world? In the universe?".

Amy answered this time around, "Yup! Metarex and the others are no more! The Planet Eggs and everything else in the universe is at peace!". This brought relief and joy to Cosmo, as now she can live in peace without having to worry about the Metarex's or Dark Oak. And also that she could live her life with her friends by her side, including a special two-tailed fox.

Cream asked the question that was on everyone's minds, "But Cosmo, how is it that you came back now after so long?".

The friendly plant alien answered that she had no idea, but she started to feel alive during certain days when she felt a kind of vibration that carried such a tone that really stimulated her. This made Tails silently theorize if it was his playing on the violin in the past that helped his crush to develop more rapid than normal. And just now she was filled with so much energy from other sounds that it caused her to accelerate her growth and… well, here she was now.

Big spoke up, "Now that you're with us, can you play instrument and help us out?".

Cosmo looked to the large feline and the little frog on his head, then looked to Tails for an answer. The two-tailed mechanical genius said to her, "Well, a lot has happened since you… well, sacrificed yourself. You see, I'm now adopted by Cream's mother Vanilla. And that makes Cream my step-sister, even though we act more like blood siblings.".

Now this surprised the young alien lady, and it showed on her face. Cream spoke up in a joyful tone, "Yup! Tails is best big brother in whole world!". Cheese agreed with the sentiment as he spoke up in his native language while floating over Tails's head.

Said young hero and friend to Sonic chuckled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head, a bit embarrassed but in a good way. Cosmo smiled at her crush, then remembered what Big had asked. She inquired to both Cream and Tails, "I see. But why did Big mention instruments?".

Tails was the one who answered, "Well, Vanilla's 36th birthday is in two weeks. And we decided to throw her a little surprise concert for her birthday. So we're going to practice on the instruments we have until the time comes to show it to her.".

Cream once again declared with sisterly pride in her voice, "Yeah! And big brother here is teaching us since he knows how to play an instrument, and knows a lot about music!".

It seems that the surprises keep coming in, as Cosmo was not aware of Tails's abilities like so. She was surprised yes, but also impressed on how her chosen boy apparently had a talent that was not linked to machines. Cosmo gave her little beau a coy smile and stated in a teasing tone, "It seems that you are just full of surprises now, huh Tails?".

This made the young fox blush brightly, chuckling nervously as seeing Cosmo's smile and hearing her words had the desired effect on him. Looking to everyone else, including young Daniel who had managed to overcome his shyness even if it was a little at a time, her gaze turning back to Tails and asked, "Well then… it seems that you have yourself another student to teach Tails. If we are to get things all set for your adoptive mother's birthday, then we best start to practice.".

This brought a surprised look on the face of the young fox lad, but it quickly morphed into a smile as it seems the surprise concert for Vanilla just got much more interesting!

(Author's Notes: And… cut! That is it for this chapter. Small yes, but quite important as now Cosmo has come onto the stage!

Now before I do anything else, I want to give honor and praise to the Lord. Thank you Lord for being with me, and helping me with this story here! I will try to become a better, more effective servant and soldier for you. Jesus, thank you that you are the reason for this season! For ALL seasons! Please continue to guide and strengthen us as me, my family and my friends follow you!

It seems that Cosmos needs an instrument to play with, but in the next chapter… she was showcase some impressive new abilities that has come from her rebirth! And also we'll see what Shadow and Rouge have in store for Danny's parents, and also how Vanilla is doing on Angel Island!
