It's indeed a very hot summer and the air conditioner breaks down at the unremarkable house. But after a little investigation, Mulder puts a plan into action to save his six-month pregnant Scully from distress and provide them some fresh air and a pleasant time. Set after Season 11.

This story is all from my imagination but, I 'll place it between Millennium and All Things. Mulder accompanies Scully to Maggie's house for an engagement dinner and Sunday brunch for her elusive brother Charlie. Maggie learns something by accident.

Dr. Scully, as one might expect, is hardly convinced...not even after having done surgery on a Kryptonian thought-beast at a state facility called the Grey Zoo. To seek out the new alien in Area 51, she must go spelunking in a skinwalker-infested wood. Meanwhile, her quarry might be in more danger than she is.
