Kagome hissed as Sango and Kikyo cleaned her arm and leg up. Inuyasha paced. "Why did you let him go?" He asked his father, angry.
"Who am I to stop him?" He asked,
Inuyasha stopped. "I thought you were our father?"
"He knows what he is doing,"
Inuyasha huffed. "So you give me advice and not him?"
Toga lifted one eyebrow. "Who says I didnt give him advice?"
Kagome watched the two, trying to keep her mind off the pain.
Toga smirked and threw his arm around his son's shoulder. "Dont be jealous; you both are equally lost and in the same subject, might I add,"
Inuyasha shrugged his father off him. "Yeah, and whose fault is that!"
Toga's light mood was gone. "Do you think it was easy for me, Inuyasha?"
Inuyasha looked away. "I had to hide and watch you hurt, unable to do anything. I had to watch my oldest son make mistake after mistake. But I did it to protect you and to save your mother, his. I knew what your life would be like, knew I would only hinder your growth. You had to learn to be your own person, Inuyasha; I could not protect you in that way, not if you were going to become more,"
Inuyasha's ears went flat; his eyes glided away, and his cheeks blushed a little from his father's heartfelt admission.
Toga sighed. "I will return," He then vanished.
Kikyo finished, added a bandage to Kagome, and stood. "Come Inuyasha, I wish to talk to you," Then to vanished.
Miroku and Sango cleaned up and started a fire, and Kagome stood, making them both look at her.
"Im ok, I just want to go check on him,"
They watched her go.
"You dont think she?" Sango started to say,
Miroku coughed hard. "With their father?!"
They both blinked, then shook their heads. That was a crazy idea.
"Lord-
"You can call me Toga,"
He had not gone far. He now leaned against a tree, arms crossed, his sword long by his side. He opened his gold eyes and looked at her.
Kagome blushed slightly and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "Are you ok?" She asked, coming to stand near him.
He put a hand on her head. "It is cute that you worry for someone like me,"
She blushed more. "Like you?"
He chuckled "I am fine, Kagome," He said as he looked off "I didnt want to leave my sons, but I knew if I stayed, Inuyasha would be weak, and Sesshomaru would never accomplish what he has, he would spend his life trying to surpass me,"
"Won't he try that now?"
He smirked. "He already has in some way and in some ways not, but it was never about that, and he knows it now; he has no desire in that now; he no longer cares,"
"You seem happy about that?"
"It no longer consumes him," He looked at her, "And leaves him time to focus on other things, more important thing, how can now work on protecting something instead of killing something,"
Kagome looked up,
"What are you thinking?" He asked,
"Did anyone know you alive?"
"Sesshomaru mother, she is that held the pearl that kept me,"
Kagome cringed. "We probably shouldn't tell Sesshomaru that,"
He smirks at her, "Totosia also knew,"
"That old demon!" She gasped,
"Indeed,"
"Definitely dont tell Sesshomary that,"
"How is your arm and leg?"
"They are fine," She touches her arm "Why do you think he went with her?"
Toga pushed away from the tree. "Why dont you ask him?"
He began to walk away, back to camp. "Ask him?" Kagome asked, but just as he faded away, Sesshomaru came into view.
He stopped when he reached her and looked down. "Miko,"
"Hi?"
"Why are you out here alone?"
"I wasn't alone, your father was just here,"
Sessomaru looked away; no doubt his father knew he was coming, but what bothered him was the fact he did not know his father he been there. Of course, he didnt know for a long time that his father was even alive.
"Um, Sesshomaru?"
He looks down at her again and Kagome stares into his eyes. They are so alike and so different. His father's eyes were lighter, softer, smiling, whereas Sesshomarus's were dark, cold, and intense.
"What happened with Kaugra? Why are you back?"
"It matters not,"
He began to walk by her,
"What do you mean it doesn't matter,"
He stopped and glared back at her. "I do not need to explain myself to you,"
Kagome blushed with anger; it wasn't like she was scolding him or anything; what he did with other women was totally his business.
"Dont you think it's kinda important that we know what we are walking into!"
He turned to her fully. "I am aware Miko, as is my father,"
"So you just went on a walk for fun?" She didnt believe that. "Why can't you tell me,"
"Woman, you are not my mother nor my mate, so stop your babbling," He turned away and began to walk away.
"Hey, I have to fight him too, you know!"
"You will be more of a hinder than a help woman,"
He noted the color of her face again; she was angry with him. Not like he cared.
They made it back to camp. "Oi, where did you go, asshole!" Inuyasha pointed,
Kagome huffed. "Dont bother asking; it is a big secret," Kagome huffed and sat.
Sesshomaru cut his eyes at her as she sat down.
"Big secret," Inuyasha repeated. "Io is something going on between you and the wind witch,"
Toga shook his head,
"You have a death wish, my friend," Miroku groaned,
"Inuyasha, sit!"
"What the hell, wench, what was that for!"
"You dont have to be so crude!"
"I was just asking what you were thinking!"
"I wasn't thinking again of the sort!"
"Oh, we all were, dont deny it!"
"Actalluy Sango was thinking that something was going on between Kagome and your dad," Miroku causally spoke,
Sesshomaru and the wind witch were quickly forgotten as everyone in camp now stared at Sango.
She was gonna kill the monk, and that's if the three demon males in front of her didnt kill her first.
