Land of Waves, Shinobi Alliance: Objective - The Fall of the Uzumaki
"Let's get the remaining cargo in the ships, we are moving out at nightfall, LET'S GO!" Commanded a dark-skinned shinobi with the symbol of Kumo on his headband to his allies before walking into one of the ships. He opened the door of the ship, made his way up the stairs, and made his way into the conference room where a few more shinobi were seen conversing. "Ah, Hato, how's everything going?" Asked another Kumo shinobi, seemingly one of Hato's commanders. "Everything is ready, we'll move at your order sir," said Hato after bowing respectfully. The other man nodded before turning to the other shinobi, who was wearing a headband with the symbol of the Village of Iwagakure on it. "We'll move out in 20 minutes, be careful around those whirlpools," he said to the Iwa commander. "Yes sir," said the Iwa shinobi as he bowed slightly, before leaving followed by the Kiri commander. The Kumo commander turned to look out of the window over the horizon, "It begins...the downfall of those bastards," he spoke, smiling slightly at the future events. He turned to Hato, who was still standing there, also looking out of the window, "Hato, these people will not go down without a fight, be sure to make it back to Kumo in one piece," he said, as Hato nodded.
Land of Waves: Carpe Diem/Seize the Night
"Time to move, everyone, hold your positions until I leave. Once I start engaging, leave immediately toward the north, we'll rendevous in Tanzaku town," I commanded. "Yes ma'am," they all collectively said. "If I may ask, why would you make them wait until you engage?" Ariana asked. "Good question, they will leave after I start engaging since a large murder of ravens flying off at the same time may alert them to suspicious actions. This is also why I had them separated from each other before I got here, shinobi are quite paranoid after all," I answered in thought as I beckoned my wings to form, now seeing the last few ships take off from the docks. I took off into the sky with speed, flying to a high altitude to prepare for my first strike.
After noticing the formation and trajectory of the ship's movements, I soared high into the clouds with tremendous speed. After a few seconds, I reached the maximum height of my attack, just a bit above the clouds as the moonlight shined below. I allowed my hood to fall off of my head, allowing my features to be seen as I flipped to my back, spreading my wings fully as I came to the peak of my upward momentum. I summoned a couple of clones as they mimicked my spread angel pose in the sky. I grabbed the handles of my Wakazashi blades, pulling them from their housing as my clones followed my actions like a mirror. "Nickname Perk: Yami's Peacemaker, Activated. Happy hunting!" Ariana alerted me before I opened my eyes, blazing red with power as I switched my blades to reverse grip, tucked in my wings, and allowed gravity to pull my clones and I downward. We shot downward with our blades at our sides, mimicking the almighty peregrine falcon, as we nearly broke the sound barrier. Soon enough, the ships once again came into view as we blazed downward side-by-side, slowly pitching upward to eventually level ourselves with the sea.
Eastern Sea, Shinobi Alliance: Bite of the Viper
"It's calm, everything is too calm-" an Iwa shinobi's words were cut short, quite literally, as an unseen entity sped past him and his comrade in the blink of an eye, as their heads rolled off and their corpses hit the deck. The few members standing beside them on the top deck were equally as unlucky, as those standing on the top deck at the bow of the ships next to them in the formation were dead before they could realize it, their bodies also hitting the deck. "OH SHIT, WE GOT CONTACT!" Shouted a Kiri shinobi before he took out a kunai, along with his comrades as they looked around for the threat, "WHERE DID THEY GO, WHAT HAPPENED!?" Shouted another shinobi before he was also cut in half by another strike. "SHIT, WE GOT AN AERIAL ATTACK, BE ON GUARD!" The shinobi said while ducking down.
One of the Iwa captains stood and commanded, "DEFENSE TEAM, INTO FORMATION! OFFENSIVE TEAM, GET BEHIND SOME COVER NOW!" After his command, the defensive team from Iwa immediately jumped to action, raising a few earth shields to protect their allies as the team from Kiri used the water near them to form a water barrier around the ships. "WHERE IS THE TARGET!?" Shouted the Kumo commander to one of his watchmen who held a pair of binoculars, "SIR, THE TARGETS ARE MOVING AT A GREAT RATE OF SPEED, THEY SEEM TO BE COMING FROM ABOVE AND ATTACKING FROM STARBOARD TO PORT!" He said. "TARGETS? AS IN THERE'S MORE THAN ONE OF THEM!?" The commander responded, "YES SIR, THERE SEEMS TO BE AROUND THREE OF THEM TOTAL, WATCH OUT THEIR COMING BACK IN!" He shouted as another attack came, eviscerating some of the shinobi who were too slow to get behind cover.
After my last attack, I sent my clones into the distance as I made myself known by flying lower to the sea surface before starting my first jutsu after putting away my blades. Channeling my chakra, "Windstyle: Nakidori no Jutsu," I said in thought while doing a few hand signs and aiming at a few of the ships, imagining nearly 100 bird avatars of compressed air before sending them at the ships. The avatars traveled at a high rate of speed before finally impacting the ships with a series of loud explosions. After releasing the jutsu, I immediately left the spot, dodging a few kunai and taking another spot in the air behind another ship. I did a few more hand seals before mentally shouting, "Windstyle: Hebikaze no Jutsu," I said, as a large avatar of a snake formed and shot at the ship, colliding with it before they could react and exploding into hundreds of slicing blades, taking out several more shinobi along with the ship. I took off back into the clouds, managing to dodge a few water bullets.
"SHIT, WE GOT THREE SHIPS DOWN. DAMN IT, THIS IS NOT GOOD. KUMO OFFENSIVE REGIMEN, AIM YOUR ATTACKS UPWARD, SHE'S A WIND-STYLE USER!" Shouted the Kumo commander, before turning to the Kiri team, "KIRI TEAM, APPLY LONG RANGE PRESSURE, THE KUMO TEAM WILL TRY TO KEEP HER LOW TO THE SURFACE, MOVE NOW!" He continued before turning to the Iwa team, "IWA TEAM, CONTINUE HOLD DEFENSIVE POSITIONS!" Shouted the commander not noticing the crow that landed behind him.
Transforming immediately to my human form, I took out my battle fans and stabbed forward with one of them, stabbing the commander through the throat from his behind, killing him immediately. Instantly, I had to duck low from a sword swipe as I answered with a swipe, taking off the leg of my attacker, causing him to fall. I moved to the next shinobi by opening one of my fans and slicing his throat before he could move, killing him instantly. I once again had to duck low from a sword strike as the rest of the shinobi surrounded me on the ship. Beckoning my wings to form to use as a shield, which I did right in time as one of them landed a kick to my back, sending me flying at another shinobi, ready to stab me in the stomach. Twisting sideways in mid-air, narrowly avoiding the strike, I channeled chakra to my leg, enhancing its strength and kicking the man in the crotch. At impact, I already knew that I liquified his internals, with his face twisting in pain as a sign of proof. I flipped behind him and grabbed him from behind, using him as a shield and successfully deflecting another sword strike.
"Lighting style: Thunder Blade," shouted another shinobi as he dashed at me from behind as I turned. He went for a horizontal strike as I ducked low, however, he expected that as he launched a kick at me. I narrowly dodged his kick that was aimed at my shoulder, and sliced behind his knee nearly taking off his leg, before slicing again at his crotch, causing him to shout in pain. With him stunned, I got up and backed up against the wall as three more shinobi came at me. Shutting one of my fans, I threw it at one of the shinobi, but he dodged it as it landed on the wooden deck. Unfortunately, for him, that was only a distraction, as I threw my other one at the same time, which managed to land squarely in his forehead as he crumpled to the floor. The other two were shocked slightly, before continueing after me with their blades drawn to my neck. I raised my hands in mock surrender, as one of them spoke, "HOW DARE YOU DO THIS!" He said as he raised his sword to slice at me.
At that moment, I did one hand seal before glancing at the fan that I threw earlier, and immediately switched places with it, stunning the men as a fan appeared in my place. I quickly dashed at them, elongating my nails in the process, and stabbed into the back of their necks, killing them before they could react. Grabbing one of them before he fell to the ground, I used him as another shield as I grabbed my battle fans. After the rain of kunai hit the deck around me, with my shield protecting me, I threw him towards the other ship as I jumped off the ship and took off once more, quickly flying upwards. I felt one of my clones get dispelled as she was attacking another ship in unison, which left just me and one other.
"SHIT, REMAIN IN FORMATION!" Shouted the Kiri commander, feeling utterly helpless to the attacks. "STATUS REPORT!" Shouted the Iwa commander to the Kiri commander. "SHIT MAN, WE'RE DOWN NEARLY A THIRD OF OUR FLEET, WITH AT LEAST 100 DEAD, AND MANY MORE INJURED." The Iwa commander sighed painfully, "WHO WAS THAT? IS THERE ANY KNOWN SHINOBI WHO ARE ABLE TO FLY AND ARE WHAT LOOK TO BE A DAMN KID?" He shot back, causing the Kiri commander to get a face of shock, "THAT WAS A FUCKING KID?" He asked, earning a head nod from the Iwa's commander, "BROWN HAIR, STRANGE FEATHER TATTOOS ON HER FACE, AND RED EYES. AND IT SEEMS LIKE SHE CAN TRANSFORM INTO A CROW!" Shouted the Iwa commander. Everyone looked around, waiting for another attack as a moment of silence passed.
The Kiri commander shouted to one of his men, "OI, KENJI, CHECK THE BINGO BOOK, LOOK UP ANYONE WITH THOSE CHARACTERISTICS," he spoke. After a few more moments, Kenji spoke up, "KATOMI MISAMOTO, SHE'S WANTED BY IWA FOR THE MURDER OF A COURT MEMBER'S SON. SHE'S ALSO WANTED BY SUNAGAKURE FOR THE INFILTRATION OF THEIR VILLAGE AND THE THEFT OF SOME OF THEIR SECRET SCROLLS, ALONG WITH BEING A POSSIBLE SUSPECT IN THE ASSASSINATION OF THE KAZEKAGE. SHE HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH ANY VILLAGE THAT WE KNOW OF," he spoke. "SHIT, OF COURSE, WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT SOONER? HOW THE HELL DID SHE GET SO STRONG?" The Iwa commander spoke in anger. "SIR, IS THAT REASON SUNA DIDN'T JOIN US AT THE LAST MINUTE?" The Kiri commander spoke up.
"PERHAPS, ALTHOUGH, I'M NOT SURE HOW THE HELL A CHILD MANAGED TO ASSASSINATE THE KAZEKAGE," the Iwa commander responded before continueing, "WELL, IF SHE WAS ABLE TO DO THAT, IT'S NO SURPRISE SHE WAS ABLE TO GET THE DROP ON US AND TAKE OUT A THIRD OF OUR MEN!" The Iwa commander finished. "Sir, what are your orders?" Hato asked, coming back out of the cabin of the ship with a few other survivors. The Iwa commander stood for a moment, weighing the costs, before sighing, "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING WE SHOULD DO?" He asked the Kiri commander. The commander sighed before continuing, "WE PAID GOOD MONEY FOR THIS AND ALREADY MADE IT THIS FAR, I SAY WE KEEP GOING!" He responded, earning a nod of approval and a defeated sigh from the Iwa commander, "NO SURRENDER! NO TURNING BACK NOW!?" He shouted getting a collective cheer from the men. However, it wasn't over yet as another hundred wind birds came soaring downward at them. "BRACE YOURSELVES", the Kiri commander shouted as they braced themselves for the next round of explosions.
Tanzaku Town: The Aftermath
Finally landing outside of Tanzaku town, I sighed tiredly, wiping off some of the dried blood on my face. "Well that was eventful," Ariana spoke as I giggled slightly, "You're damn right," I said as I sat next to my comrades in the tree canopy. "You look very ladylike," Karasu said as I smiled and petted his head, "You know, you have a special way with words, perhaps better than me," I said. At that moment, Karasu became alerted as he flew away, "Captain, watch out," he said as I felt a hand connect with my face, sending me flying downwards off of the canopy, however, I managed to wright myself before landing on another branch. "The hell was that-" my sentence was cut short, as I had to dodge a quick strike from my opponent. I jumped back glaring at my enemy, reaching for my Wakazashi in the process. "Damn, did he follow me here?" I asked as the man turned to face me, "You were the one to attack my comrades?" He asked rhetorically as he lit up with lightning crackling around him.
"Shit," I cursed as I immediately tried to take flight, the keyword was, 'tried', as I had to narrowly dodge a strike from him. "Who the hell was this guy?" I asked in thought as I quickly flew up behind a tree, out of his sight. After a short moment, I reappeared in a tree behind him and jumped down at his back, striking out with my Wakazashi. Right before contact, he dodges out of the way with a slightly shocked look on his face, which is quickly replaced with a scowl. "You think you can sneak up on me brat?" He sneered as he charged at me. Getting into a stance, I dodged his strikes with minimal difficulty, he didn't seem to be very good with the lightening cloak, perhaps because he was still somewhat young, only a teenager. I dodged, and ducked under him, going for a slash at his leg as he just barely managed to jump out of the way and answer back with a quick kick aimed at my side. Nimbily, I dodge out of the way, before swinging my blade at his head. He quickly moved to grab the blade, channeling his lightning chakra into it, and shocking me, causing me to abandon it and jump away.
"You won't be needing this," he said as he threw the blade behind him, allowing it to fall to the ground below. "What a fool, he just gave me a possible outlet," I said in thought while pretending to be nervous at the loss of my blade. "Hehe, you're not so good now without your toy," he said with a sneer. "Katomi, remember that you have more work to do, you shouldn't play around too much," Ariana spoke as I sighed internally, "Alright," I said in thought before readying myself. At that moment, he channeled more chakra around him before grabbing the sword from his back. Now that I got a good look at him, he has some strange, blue paint crossing his face on his left. "Oh shit, this is Blue Bee, the cousin of the fourth Raikage," I said in thought, looking at the kid who was at least a few years older than me. "Time to get serious," I thought as I grabbed my other Wakazashi and channeled wind chakra into it before lunging at him.
He grunted as our blades clashed, sending sparks around us. Immediately, I ducked low and slashed at his knees as he jumped back and answered with a downward strike. Taking this quick opening, I made one-hand sign and shunshined behind him. Catching him by surprise, I struck out with a horizontal strike, managing to cut him just below his underarm as he jumped out of the way again. Not letting up on my attacks, I lunged again striking in an upwards motion as he just managed to block it with his blade. Just as planned, with his blade occupied, I struck out with a fast kick to the crotch, managing to land a glancing blow as he backed up again. "He's good...but not good enough," I said in thought as I continued to follow up with strike after strike. Unfortunately, for him, I was throwing so many strikes at him that he faltered slightly, as I nearly backed him off of the branch. Taking the opportunity, I ducked and quickly did a spin slash, managing to land a deep blow to his stomach, earning a painful grunt from him as he started falling towards the ground.
I stood, glaring down at him as he fell towards the ground, and I did another hand sign while glancing at my other discarded Wakazashi blade. I instantly switched places with it as he was just about to hit the ground, I then slashed again, cutting his spinal cord in half as I twisted out of the way of his falling body. He hit the ground, dead before impact. "Good fight, old sport," I said calmly as I cleaned off my blade, before replacing it with my back scabbard. "Karasu, where are you?" I asked mentally as I looked around. "Above you, Captain," he said as I looked up to see my comrades, as a few of them flew down to give me the other blade I sighed, "Good, everyone's fine, let's get out of here before they send reinforcements to look for me. I'll take the lead, we're heading out towards the Valley of the End, stay close and stay sharp," I said before forming my wings again and taking off in the northwest direction, towards the Valley of the End.
Kumogakure: 1 Day After the Failed Invasion
"Raikage sama! The invasion failed, and half of our troops were wiped out by an external threat," Hato hurriedly spoke after bowing slightly. The face of the third Raikage morphed into grim anger, "Damn it, tell me the whole story, NOW!" He commanded forcefully. "Y-yes sir, it all started right after the last ship left the docks of Wave Country, I believe it was one of the Iwa ships. We made it roughly a kilometer from the port until an enemy shinobi flew down at great speeds and instantly killed the men standing at the top deck of the bow of some of the ships that were in formation delta. We mobilized our troops to protect our fleet as she then flew back and released some powerful wind-styled jutsus that managed to sink a couple of our ships and kill many troops on contact. Right as we were about to engage her, she quickly moved to another position and immediately fired another powerful wind technique that managed to sink another ship and kill nearly all men onboard. After that, she transformed from a crow back into a human and killed the commander of our forces, she then went to slaughter nearly everyone on that ship. She then flew back up into the clouds before releasing a final technique onto our whole fleet, severely weakening some of our other ships and killing a few more men. We lost 3 ships from our fleet while Iwa lost two and Kiri also lost two, I calculated that before we engaged the Uzumaki, we already lost a third of our total fleet." He explained shakingly.
The grim look on the Raikage's face darkened further, "Continue," he spoke, bidding Hato to continue. We then later engaged the Uzumaki, who repelled us with minimal effort, I believe we were only able to defeat a quarter of their forces. At the command of our leader, I managed to escape, just barely, and made it back here a little bit ago." Hato finished, as the Raikage sighed deeply, "And who was this enemy shinobi that decimated much of our forces that we sent?" He asked. Hato sighed, before pulling out the bingo book, turning to the correct page, and passing the book to the Raikage, "Here, page 98. Katomi Misamoto, she has no village affiliation that we know of, and is wanted by Iwa and Suna." Hato finished as he tried to calm down his shaking. After reading the entry of the girl, the Raikage, slammed his fists into his desk in anger, smashing it into pieces. Hato jumped back in fear at the wrath of his leader. "Hato, head to the intelligence division and tell them to raise her rank to S-rank or whatever is needed. Wanted dead for...successfully...weakening the allied forces of Iwagakure, Kumogakure, and Kirigakure, along with forcing Sunagakure out of the invasion of Uzushio due to assassinating their Kage, GO NOW!" The Raikage shouted in rage, barely able to admit defeat to only a child, "HOW THE HELL DID A DAMNED CHILD DO THIS?" He said as he rained more punches to the remains of his desk as Hato scurried out of the room.
Moments passed as Hato left the office of the Raikage and made his way down the hall towards the intelligence division. Unfortunately, it seemed as if his day could not get better as he felt a painful clench in his stomach, trying to prevent himself from letting out what definitely didn't feel like just a fart. "Shit, not now, I need to hurry," he said as he hurried to the other side of the building. Glancing around to check if there were any Anbu or other people around while making his way towards a nearby bathroom. "Let's just get this over with, and report everything to the intelligence division," he spoke quietly before entering the bathroom.
Konohagakure: 2 Days After the Failed Invasion
Hiruzen sat pondering the words spoken by one of the jonin messengers yesterday. "We failed the Uzumaki, but somehow, they were granted a twist of fate," he said quietly while puffing out a cloud of smoke from his pipe. Hiruzen sat up and glanced down at the document sitting in front of him with a stern and concerned look. What he saw was something that in all of his years, he would have never thought would be possible. His teachers, Tobirama Senju and Hashirama Senju, frequently mentioned the many battles they fought with powerful shinobi back when they were just kids. Of course, many of them were Uchiha, however, Uchiha or not, a child was still a child. There have been many examples of genius shinobi who were only kids, one of them at the moment is the up-and-coming genin named Minato along with his own students, especially Orochimaru. Hiruzen knew that Orochimaru, Tsunade, and Jiraiya were by themselves able to take on entire shinobi battalions and armies, such as what they are currently doing in the Village of Rain at the moment.
However, neither his students nor even Hiruzen himself when he was much younger, was able to take out a large portion of a shinobi force, at only the age of 8 or 9 by himself. Such is why he is currently feeling a deep sense of concern at the actions of Katomi Misamoto, whose dossier sat in front of him, and the other piles of paper sat on the side. It was a copy of her updated bingo book page, which will likely hunt Hiruzen from this day forward.
Name: Katomi Misamoto
Age: Unknown, although suspected to be around 8 years old at the time of this posting.
Affiliation: Unknown
Rank: SS (Flee on Sight)
Reasons for Rank:
1.) The complete decimation and slaughter of 1/3 of the shinobi alliance of Iwagakure, Kumogakure, and Kirigakure, which contributed to their defeat when the alliance tried, but failed, to assault and destroy the Uzumaki clan.
2.) The infiltration and possible theft of important village scrolls of Sunagakure, along with being suspected in the later assassination of the third Kazekage, along with Sasori, a well-known puppet wielder in Sunagakure.
3.) The murder and slaughter of the son of a prominent Iwa court member, along with his business partners in the Village of Firefly.
4.) Katomi is known to have a special ability to fly and to fly at a masterful level. She is able to fly at speeds that most jonin, who some are survivors of the failed Uzu invasion, said they were not able to react easily.
5.) Katomi is also said to have very little chakra presence for an unknown reason, she is also said to be able to transform into a raven or crow on command. This, along with her lacking chakra presence, is said to be the reason she was able to infiltrate Sunagakure.
6.) Be warned, that Katomi is also said to have a teleportation-like ability, which is seemingly a more advanced version of the basic kawarimi no jutsu or the shunshin no jutsu. She is able to do these jutsus without the need for more than one hand sign.
7.) Katomi, due to her exploits in the failed Uzu invasion, has been said to have a powerful affinity towards the wind element. During the invasion, it has been said that she was able to sink ships with more than 20 shinobi, along with killing them, with just one jutsu.
Warnings:
1.) Flee on sight and do not bother to approach when alone or not backed by a large army or Kage.
This listing has been authenticated by the International Shinobi Registration Division with notable contributions from Kumogakure, Kirigakure, Sunagakure, and Iwagakure Kage's or high-clearance shinobi or Anbu.*
The aged leader sighed as he finished rereading the entry, "This is bad, for someone to have this level of strength, at such a young age. However, it seems as if she acted to protect the Uzumaki, which could mean that she is at least not enemies with them and to an extent, us as well," Hiruzen said in thought as his long-time friend and enemy walked into his office, face set in stone as always. "Hiruzen, you know why I'm here," Danzo spoke as he made his way to stand in front of Hiruzen. Hiruzen frowned at the disregard of his position and the respect it earned but decided to not comment on it and got to the point, knowing Danzo was not one for pleasantries. "We cannot do much right now as our forces are still concentrated in the Village of Rain. She currently seems to not be an enemy of the village, do what you have to do to prepare your root forces in case of a possible infiltration, I'll do the same with my Anbu. Perhaps once this war is over, we'll recall my students along with Sakumo and Fugaku to remain on standby in the village." Hiruzen spoke as Danzo remained stoic before asking, "And what of the Uzumaki?"
Hiruzen's frown deepened at the question before he spoke, "Not good, somehow, we were not alerted at the amassing of troops at the ports of our allies in the east. I finally received a message earlier this morning from Uzukage-dono detailing the events that some of his surveillance troops were able to report. He was not happy with our lack of action and also wrote that he and his village would be in great debt to Katomi for her heroic actions that helped mitigate the attack, which only managed to defeat nearly half of his forces; far better than complete defeat and the possible fall of their clan. Some of the remaining survivors of the alliance fled and retreated to their remaining ships. Luckily, the merchant ship that had several civilians, along with the next jinchuuriki of the nine tails, Kushina Uzumaki, managed to leave several hours before the invasion, Kushina should currently be on her way here right now after staying in the Fire Capital. Once she arrives here, she will be placed under the care of Mito-dono, and I'll assign some of my Anbu to aid in guarding them." Hiruzen finished, earning a grunt from Danzo as he gripped his cane tightly in controlled anger.
"I see, we would do well to not make her an enemy of our village," Danzo spoke once more as he turned around and started making his way toward the door to the office. Hiruzen narrowed his eyes at the retreating form of Danzo, "Danzo, I know what you are planning, it'll do you good, specifically, to not earn her fury," Hiruzen spoke as Danzo continued out of the door, only pausing for a moment to nod in agreement, before leaving. Hiruzen sighed once more, before leaning back into his chair, puffing away at his pipe and trying to wrap his head around the absurd potential of the child. Hiruzen shook his head of those thoughts, before moving to focus on their current engagement in the Village of Rain.
