12 Years Later...

It's the first day of summer, and all of the eager boys and girls at Midtown Middle School are excited to start summer vacation with their families. The bell rang, and all of the kids left their classrooms. Including 2 best friends.

May Parker and Nora Osborn.

Nora's beautiful blonde hair was tied into a braid, hanging down on the right side of her shoulder. She wore a teal-green tank top and an unbuttoned lavender long sleeved shirt. She was wearing a spring green skirt, snow white socks, and expensive black dress shoes.

Nora really took after her mother's passion for fashion. She's popular, rich, a straight A student, and almost every boy in school wants to be her boyfriend. Even the girls want to be her best friend.

But Nora has only one BFF.

May. And whenever Nora is in trouble, or needs a helping hand, May will always be there for her.

May has short brown hair like her father, Peter. She even has his beautiful blue eyes. And like her father, May is sweet, a straight A student, funny, and down-to-earth.

She was wearing a sky blue t-shirt with sunflowers on it. She had light red shorts. And she wore her favorite magenta sneakers. May always liked to make herself pretty, just like her mother, Mary Jane. And like her mother, May is creative in art, optimistic, and kind.

"Summer vacation, here we come!" said May happily.

"Not until tomorrow, May", Nora chuckled, as she and May walked to their lockers.

"I know", said May. "But I'm just just really excited. My Daddy told me that we're gonna go to Coney Island next Saturday! And he said that you're more than welcome to come with us".

"That'd be great, May!" said Nora. "My Dad's coming to pick me up soon. So I'll ask him, okay?"

"Okay".

Then suddenly. May was shoved into her locker by Fiona Thompson! The school's basketball star and bully. And she also happens to be Flash Thompson's daughter.

"Hey, Fiona!" shouted Nora.

Fiona just laughed. She's been picking on May since they were in elementary school. Ever since her mother, Felicia Hardy and her father divorced.

And it hit Fiona pretty hard, even though she spends the weekends at her dad's, and the rest at her mom's.

Then May got back up, rubbed her head and said, "Come on, Fiona! It's the first day of summer".

"Exactly, May Brain", said Fiona. "That means that Locker Knocker Time is almost over!"

"Seriously, Fiona", Nora said with a frown. "When are you gonna grow up? Just because you're the school's best athlete doesn't mean that you get to be a bully".

"Bully? I'm just simply putting May Brain's big head where it belongs. In Dweeb-topia!" Fiona laughed.

Then she shoved May into her locker again. And slammed the door.

"See ya tomorrow, Smarty Pants", Fiona called out. "You too, Princess Osborn". And she walked away.

Nora helped her friend out of her locker. And when the girls grabbed their backpacks, May noticed that a piece of paper was stuck to her left hand. She tried to shake it off, but it didn't come off. So she grabbed it with her other hand, but it got stuck on that hand, too.

"What the...?"

Then she crumpled it up into a ball. And it finally came off.

And after the girls grabbed their stuff and closed their lockers, they walked towards the doors.

"I don't get it, May", said Nora. "Why do you let Fiona bully you all the time? You've gotta stand up for yourself".

"I know, Nora", May replied. "But my parents told me to just try and ignore her, and she'll leave me alone".

"Well, clearly that's not working. My advice...

"Fight back! BAM, BAM, POW!"

"No, Nora. My parents also said that fighting isn't the answer".

"It is for The Avengers and the Fantastic Four".

"That's a whole lot different. They're super heroes. I'm just an ordinary girl".

Or so she thought...

"Well. Just think about it, May", said Nora. "If you fought back, maybe Fiona won't pick on you anymore. And, maybe, you don't have to fight her with fists. You could fight her with words".

"You think that'll work?" asked May.

"Oh, I'm sure of it. My grandpa told me that words can hurt as much as fists can. Sometimes even worse".

"I'll think about it. But only the words part, not the fists part".

"Okay".

Suddenly. Just as the girls were about to reach the school doors...

May started to feel a strange tingling sensation all over her body! And that's when she saw an older boy skateboarding straight towards them!"

"Nora, look out!" she cried. And she pulled her best friend out of the way. Then the boy lost his balance and fell off of his skateboard.

And the principal, who happened to be standing near the doors, saw the whole thing. And she was not happy at all. And she ran to the girls.

"Oh, my goodness!" she cried. "May! Nora! Are you girls okay?"

"Yes, Principal Baker", May replied.

"Yeah. We're okay", said Nora.

The principal was relieved.

"Oh, good", she said. "I'm so glad you two are alright.

"And May. I don't know how you sensed Derek coming straight towards you and Nora. But I'm relieved that you were both unharmed".

The girls smiled. Then the angry principal turned to the naughty boy and shouted;

"And as for YOU, Mr. McNelly! How many times have I told you, NO SKATEBOARDING IN THE HALLS?!"

"But, I..."

"No buts! And just because tomorrow is the last day of school, does not mean that you get to be rambunctious!

"That is a trip to my office, and a phone call to your parents, young man!"

Principal Baker took Derek McNelly and his skateboard to her office. Which is on the left, near the front school doors.

Then the girls walked outside.

"Wow, May!" said Nora. "How did you know that Derek was heading straight for us? Even I didn't see him coming".

"I don't know, Nora", May answered. "I just sorta... felt it".

Just then, a black limousine pulled up in front of the school steps. It was Nora's father, Harry Osborn.

"Hey, Daddy", said Nora. As she walked towards her ride.

"Hey, princess", said Harry when he rolled the back window down.

"Hello, May".

"Hi, Uncle Harry", replied May.

"Oh! Daddy. May invited me to go to Coney Island with her and Uncle Peter next Saturday. Can I go?"

Harry smiled and said, "Sure, honey. That would be fun. In fact. Me, your mother, and grandfather would love to come, too.

"Can we all come along, May?"

"Absolutely! I'll tell my parents".

May then went to the bike rack to unlock her red and blue bicycle.

"You sure you don't want a ride home, May?" Harry asked, as Nora hopped into the limo.

"No thanks. I'm good with my bike", May answered as she tried unlocking her bike lock.

"Okay, then. Drive safely".

"See you tomorrow, May", Nora called out. And waved good-bye.

"Bye, Nora".

Then all of a sudden. When May was trying to unlock her bike with the combination code...

It broke apart! In her bare hands! And the young girl gasped!

"WHOA!!

"What's happening to me?

"First the stickiness, then the tingling, and now this?!"

12 year old May Parker has no idea what is happening to her. And she must find answers.

And the only ones with those answers. Are her parents.

But more preferably...

Her father.

Peter Parker.
