May's mind was flooded with really confusing questions as she was riding her bike home from school:

'Why do her clean hands stick to everything like glue?'

'Why did she feel tingling when a boy was about to crash into her, even though she never saw or heard him coming?'

'And how could she break a tough metal lock with her bare hands?'

"If I tell my parents about what's happening to me, they'll probably think I'm some sort of freak", she said to herself.

"But I have to tell them something. I can't lie to them, cause one lie leads to another. And what's happening to me feels like a lie. But it's really real.

"What will I say? What will they say? And what will I say to Nora when I tell her?"

May has been taught her whole life to always tell the truth. Even if it hurts, and even if it's really confusing. And her parents told her that no matter what kind of truth it is, they will completely understand.

"Okay. You're just overreacting, May", she said as she was just approaching her house.

"Mom and Daddy will get a bit confused when I tell them. But I'm sure they'll understand. I hope. They're my parents, after all".

When May arrived, she put her bike in the backyard and went inside the house. Where she found her mother, Mary Jane in the kitchen washing the dishes.

"Hey, Mom", said May.

"Hey, sweetie", replied MJ. "How was school today?"

"It was fine".

Mary Jane noticed that May looked a little bit depressed when she replied. "Are you okay, honey? Did Fiona pick on you again?"

"Yeah. But something weird happened to me after that".

"What, May?" MJ crouched down.

"Well. After Fiona left, a piece of paper got stuck to my hands. But we didn't even do art today. And then, when me and Nora where about to go outside, I felt my body tingling. And that's when I saw a boy skateboarding straight towards us, so I pulled Nora out of the way. And then...

"I did this to my bike lock...

"With my bare hands!"

May unzipped her backpack, took out her broken lock and showed it to her mother.

Mary Jane's eyes widened, and she gasped! Looking at her daughter's bicycle lock where the combination code broke and detached. And from what May told her, and her broken bike lock. Mary Jane knew EXACTLY what is happening to her daughter.

"Good lord!" she exclaimed.

"I know, Mom", said May. "I have no idea what's going on. What is happening to me?"

"I'd better call your father, May", MJ replied. "He might know something about this. And he should be on his way home from work soon".

Mary Jane grabbed her cellphone, and called her husband, Peter. And as it was ringing, she said, "Could you please go and wait upstairs in your room until your father comes home, May? We'll explain everything. I promise".

May was confused. But she did what her mother told her.

"Okay", she said. And she went up the stairs to her room on the left.

And when Mary Jane heard her door shut, Peter answered the phone.

"Hey, MJ", said Peter.

"Peter..." , Mary Jane answered. "May just came home from school. And...

"I think it's time".

"Really? How do you know? Did-did she say anything?"

"She said that a piece of paper got stuck on her clean hands. She felt tingling, and saw a boy skateboarding straight towards her and Nora..."

"Are the girls okay?"

"Yes. May pulled Nora out of the way".

"Oh. Good".

"But that's not all, Peter. May broke the combination code on her bicycle lock with her own bare hands!"

"Seriously?! Those locks are tough, solid steel! I bought her that lock, remember?"

"Yeah".

"Wow, MJ. It's really time, isn't it?"

"Yes, Peter. It is".

"Okay. You remember where I stored my stuff, right?"

"Uh-huh. It's in the metal box with the thumbprint lock under our bed".

"Yes. Go get the box right now, I'm just turning around the corner here. I'll pull up in the driveway. And meet me in the garage with the box".

"Okay, baby. Bye".

"Bye".

After Mary Jane hung up, she went upstairs to her bedroom to get Peter's special box under her bed.

"Hey, Mom? Is Daddy home?"May asked from behind her bedroom door.

"He's on his way, honey", MJ replied. "But just wait a little longer, okay?"

"Okay".

Peter arrived in the driveway in his blue SUV, and Mary Jane opened the garage door for him. He parked the car inside, turned it off and came out.

And when she handed her husband his special metal box, she said, "Oh, Peter. It's been 12 years. You sure you wanna wear it again".

"We had an agreement, MJ", said Peter. "And I called Harry after we talked. Told him that it's time, and they'll be here in about 15 minutes".

"What about Nora? Does she have to know, too?"

"Nora and May have been best friends since they were 2, and they trust each other. And she's family, so yes. She deserves to know".

May was still in her room, sitting on her bed by her window facing the front yard. Then she heard her mother knock on her door.

"May. Your father's home", she said. "He's waiting for you in the living room".

"Okay, Mom", said May. So she got up, opened her door, and followed her mother downstairs.

"But what does Daddy have to do with what's happening to me, Mom?"

"You'll find out soon enough, honey".

When May and Mary Jane entered the living room, Peter wasn't there.

"Hey, Mayday", he said. That was the nickname he gave his daughter when she was little.

"Where are you, Daddy?" May asked. She looked around in the room, but her father wasn't sitting on the couch, or the chairs by the TV.

"Closer than you think, sweetheart", Peter replied. "If you'll just look up".

So May looked up. And she couldn't believe who she saw on the ceiling.

IT WAS SPIDER-MAN!!!

Young May gasped!

"Whoa! What is Spider-Man doing here, Mom?! Daddy, where are you?

"Calm down, honey", said Mary Jane.

"Yes, May. Calm down", said Spider-Man.

"How do you know my name?" the young girl asked. Hiding behind her mother.

Then Spider-Man removed his mask, and said with a smile, "Because...

"I am your daddy".
