The front door knocked, it was the Osborns. Mary Jane opened the door and let them in. And when they sat on the living room couch, Spider-Man was there!

"My daddy is Spider-Man?!" shouted May with excitement. "Like. The Spider-Man?!" And she jumped around happily.

"This is so...

"Wicked...

"AWESOME!!"

Then Nora jumped off of the couch and said, "No, no, no. This can't be true, it can't be! Everyone knows that Spider-Man disappeared. But no one knows what happened to him. This is all a lie!"

"It is true, Nora", said Harry.

"Uncle Peter really is Spider-Man, honey", said Liz.

"And it's not a lie, either", replied Norman.

"Whoa, whoa. Wait. You knew all along? All these years?" May asked.

"Are you all serious?!" asked Nora in disbelief.

"As serious as it can be", said Spider-Man. And Mary Jane nodded her head in agreement.

"But I don't understand, Daddy", said May. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Spider-Man, MJ, and the Osborns all looked at each other. Then Spider-Man answered his daughter with sympathy as he crouched down...

"The reason I didn't tell you is because your mother and I wanted to protect you, Mayday".

"We love you very much. More than anything", said Mary Jane.

"Which is why we made a pact. Shortly after you were born", said Harry.

"A 'pact'?" Nora asked.

"It's an agreement, Nora", replied Liz. Sitting beside her on the couch. "That's what a pact means".

"Yes", said Norman. Who was sitting on one of the chairs. "A few weeks after you were born, May. We held a meeting in this very living room. And we all agreed that when the time comes for you to develop your spider powers. We would tell you the truth".

"Do you understand what we're telling you, honey?" Mary Jane asked.

"I think so, Mom", replied May. "So you had to wait until I got my powers?"

"Yes, Mayday. Exactly", said Spider-Man. "We knew that this was a possibility, but we didn't know when it could happen...

"Until today. After you told your mother about what happened at school".

"What? What's he talking about, May?" Nora asked.

Then May took a deep breath, and told her best friend about the strange things that happened to her after school.

First, she told her about the piece of paper that got stuck on her hands after Fiona shoved her in her locker.

Then, she said that she felt her body tingling before the boy, Derek McNelly crashed into them. And pulled Nora out of the way.

And lastly, she showed Nora her broken bicycle lock. And said that she broke it with her own bare hands.

"You broke your bike lock?!" asked Nora.

"Yeah", said May. "And I didn't even try very hard".

Nora couldn't believe it. Her best friend has superpowers!

Then Spider-Man said, "That was your spider strength when you broke your lock, Mayday. And when that piece of paper got stuck on your hands, that was your spider stickiness. And that tingling you felt before that boy crashed into you girls, that was your spider sense".

"Wow!" exclaimed May. "So, not only I now know what's happening to me. But that my daddy is really the long-lost Spider-Man?!"

"Yes, sweetheart", said Spider-Man with a smile. "The one and only".

"But, if you're really Spider-Man. Why did you quit?" asked Nora.

"Yeah, Daddy. Why did you quit? Was it too dangerous, too much work, or too hard to deal with it?"

"Well. I... uhh..."

"That is a story for another time, girls", Mary Jane said.

"Yes. It's getting late", said Harry.

"And Bernard should be almost done cooking dinner by now", said Norman.

Bernard Houseman is the butler and cook for the Osborns. And he has been serving and taking care of the Osborn family since Norman was just a boy.

"Aww!" the girls whined.

"Now, girls. Don't be like that", said Mary Jane.

"Yes", said Spider-Man. "I promise that we'll explain everything after school tomorrow. And tomorrow is your last day before summer vacation".

"Oh! I almost forgot", said May. "Nora is allowed to go to Coney Island with us next week, Daddy".

"And we'd like to come along too, Peter", said Harry. "What do you say?"

Spider-Man and Mary Jane smiled.

"That'd be great, Harry", said MJ.

"Yes. Absolutely!" said Spider-Man. "It's been a while since we all went out together as one big family".

"Indeed, Peter", Norman said with a smile.

"Coney Island was, is, and always will be the #1 spot in New York for some summer fun", said Liz.

"Nobody ALIVE gets bored of that place. EVER!" Nora said happily.

"And it never, EVER gets old!" shouted May.

"Alright, girls. Alright", said Spider-Man as he laughed.

"Yes", said Mary Jane. "That's enough excitement for you two tonight".

"Come on, Nora", said Liz. "We should be getting home now. Bernard just texted me saying that dinner will be ready for us".

"Okay, Mom", said Nora.

"See you later, Pete", said Harry. As he and his family walked to the front door.

"Bye, Harry", said Spider-Man.

And the Osborn family got into their red Mercedes-Benz in the driveway and drove home.

"What do you want for dinner, tiger?" Mary Jane asked as she closed the door.

"How about pizza?" Spider-Man answered. "I'll pay".

"Sounds good", said MJ. "Hey, May. Do you want pizza for dinner?"

But May wasn't in the living room anymore. She didn't go upstairs to her room. And she wasn't in the kitchen either. Or the dining room.

"Mayday? Where are you, sweetheart?" Spider-Man called out.

Suddenly. Spider-Man and Mary Jane heard their daughter giggling.

"Closer than you think, Spider-Man", May replied. "Or should I say...

"Spider-Daddy!"

Spider-Man and his wife looked up on the ceiling...

And they saw their energetic daughter on all fours! Her parents gasped!

"This is so cool!" said May. And she began crawling all over the ceiling, and passed by the lights. And she continued giggling with joy.

Then her father chuckled and said, "Yeah. It is pretty cool, and it never gets old".

Then Spider-Man lept up to the ceiling to join his little girl. "Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man!"

May shrieked and laughed as her father began crawling and chasing her all over the ceiling.

And Mary Jane started laughing at the scene from below.

"Okay, Spider-Man. And Spider-Girl", she said. "I'm gonna make the call for a pizza delivery while you two have some... 'spider fun' up there".

"Sure thing, honey", replied Spider-Man. And he continued playing with his daughter on the ceiling.

About an Hour Later...

After the Parker family ate their pizza dinner, Mary Jane and Spider-Man were cleaning up the kitchen when they saw May crawling on the ceiling again.

"Mayday", said Spider-Man. "We know that you're excited about your spider powers, but could you please come down and help me and your mother with the dishes".

"But, Daddy..."

"No buts", said Mary Jane. "Do as your father says, or no Coney Island next week".

"Okay", May replied. And she let go of the ceiling and landed on the floor with her feet.

And after the kitchen was all cleaned up, it was starting to get dark outside. And May was just sitting on the couch watching one of her favorite action movies on the TV's DVR, 'Independence Day'. Then she started to yawn.

"Pause your movie now, honey", said Mary Jane. "It's almost time for bed".

"And with all of that wall and ceiling crawling, you've gotta be tired by now", said Spider-Man.

May was looking pretty sleepy. And she said, "Okay. I guess the aliens can wait". So May paused the movie and turned off the TV. Then she went upstairs to put on her blue nightgown, and brushed her teeth in the bathroom.

When she was finished, her parents were waiting by her bedroom door.

And then, Spider-Man opened the door for his tired daughter. And as she crawled into the covers of her bed, he said, "I'm leaving this journal I've written for you on your nightstand. I've been saving it for the day when your spider powers might come. Everything I wrote in it says how I got my powers, how I made my suit and web shooters, the information about my enemies, and most importantly...

"Why I became Spider-Man. And why I retired".

"And we want you to read it in private, and thoroughly understand it. Alright?" said Mary Jane as she tucked May in bed.

"But you can show it to Nora", said Spider-Man. "Now that she knows, and she is your best friend, Mayday".

"Okay, Daddy. Okay, Mom. Thanks", said May. "I love you guys. Good night".

"Love you too", replied Mary Jane. "Good night". And she gave her a kiss.

"Good night...

"Spider-Girl", said Spider-Man. And he gave his beloved daughter a kiss.

May smiled as she heard her father call her that name. She liked the sound of that, which meant that one day, soon... she will become a great superhero. Just like her father was before.

But when MJ and her husband left and closed the door, she said, "I can't believe this is really happening, Peter. I'm already starting to get worried".

"Everything is going to be alright, MJ", he said. "And don't worry. Tomorrow after school, Harry and I will pick up the girls, and we'll head to Avengers Tower. Where I'll be teaching Mayday to control her powers. I just need to give Iron Man a quick call first, and tell him that it's time".

"Okay, tiger. I trust you. And we should get to bed, too", Mary Jane yawned.

Spider-Man yawned as well, and he followed his wife to their bedroom and closed the door.
