Draculaura Pov:
"Another year has started, can't believe that it's happening. Especially now with how I'm more confident than ever since I told my dad about me studying magic, though not the part about actually using it since that was the last thing he wanted to see. His daughter used spells that slayed hundreds of vampires as well fearing witches trying to convert me to their coven, like that would ever happen. Right now I'm not thinking about that, what I am doing now is practicing throwing a practice party for the upcoming Fright Ball to be hosted at Monster High. While I wouldn't be thrilled with it in the past, I'm kind of excited to host it since I'll have people to hang out with and have a laugh. Though the current company I'm with right now might make it a challenge, and this is just for practice!"
Morning-Dracula's House
While it would be unlike the lord of vampires to allow children of both monsters and Kaiju to runabout in his home that has been his for several thousand years. He was more than willing to let his daughter practice hosting parties since he was an expert in hosting parties and balls which was the talk of the centuries. Though what he was witnessing wasn't the type that would have wealthy vampires socializing amongst themselves, it was more of a were-creature gathering that had numerous young adults running around and messing with his castle.
"No hanging above those rafters! They are family members only!"
Shouting at several of the kids who had wings and were hanging upside down on the rafters which were used for family gatherings as well as extra beds in case anyone sleeping over. Flying off and laughing at making the father annoyed, he heard a splashing sound coming from the outside as he rushed over to check out the moat where he saw several sea monsters and Kaiju messing around along playing with the water snakes.
"Those aren't snacks in that water! I had them exclusively purchased from Transylvania!"
Calling out to Lagoona and Titan who both were staring at some of the vampire's snakes and thought they looked like something they could eat. The aquatic teens chuckled at how it was humorous seeing Dracula trying to keep himself posed and well-mannered as he rushed back inside hearing more commotion going on as he heard ruffling going on in the kitchen. Checking out what was happening, he saw Abbey along with several other monsters having a buffet with the meals that Dracula had kept preserved for special occasions.
"Count Dracula! You have great meat in your fridge, me and Tusk bring offerings as well to thank you for letting us eat."
The abominable girl said as she gestured for her friend to present to him their gift which was in the form of what looked like frozen meat for him to help replace the food that Draculaura's friends were eating. He showed a small smile at the offering and accepted it, though he was biting his lip at the mess they were making. Just as things might have been enough for him, his nose began to sniff something out as Dracula smelt something burning. Rushing to where he could smell the heat, he saw Heath and Rhodey making a fire near the fireplace them cooking food over it.
"Boys! That is not for cooking meals, it's for decoration."
Telling the fire-headed pair as they noticed the vampire dad and panicked since they didn't suspect getting noticed by them. Deuce was by their side and had warned them about it being a bad idea as they saw how they got Dracula upset, which he would have to handle before he decided to have young blood settle his nerves.
"Sorry sir, the kitchen is full and they had food on them to cook. Also, we needed the fire for my sister, she's been feeling a bit cold lately."
Apologizing for what was happening as well as pointing over to Mira, the moth girl who was right not resting on the couch sleeping as well took a moment to look at how she seemed afraid of something. Allowing the fire to stay on, he was going to check if something else in his house that he'd treasured and cherished was being tarnished. Instead, he was surprised by none other than his daughter Draculaura who was holding a plate that had several beverages and snacks for her friends.
"To be fair this is my first time with friends that I enjoy hanging out with. Plus, it's all practice for the Fright Ball."
Possibly trying to apologize for the rowdiness of her friends since she had grown used to it unlike her father who was busy with vampiric matters. While also realizing that this small party would be small compared to the Fright Ball that would grander as well exciting. Accepting the statement and taking one of the cups from her plate, Dracula quickly makes a face of shock from what he drank.
"That was tomato juice dad, I think this will help you out."
She explained to him as she handed him a plastic cup that was filled with blood since most of her friends and anyone she invited from Monster High. The blood he drank allowed Dracula to settle down as well that he could get her back from cleaning up since he had to clean up after his own parties in the past.
"Thank you, my little bat. I'm sure you will do great when the ball starts, as well hopping you find date for the dance. I know several vampires would be thrilled to dance with you at the school."
Offering his help in finding someone to go with her since he knew she'd be a perfect candidate for queen of Fright Night. Draculaura looked embarrassed when he said that as well didn't want him to bring that up with her friends around to hear, in which he nodded as he decided to look into other matters happening around the house. This left Draculaura to groan at the idea of having someone date her at the dance since was already planning on setting it up for everyone to enjoy. Walking over to hand Heath the plate of snakes and drinks, she sits by the couch's arm taking a breather from running around the place.
"Parents, they want to help you out but drive you crazy at the same time."
Deuce offering his voice in the moment which made the vampire princess laugh at the comment since it was true that Dracula had pressured her into getting everything ready and finding a date for the ball. Yet underneath it all, he was proud she was growing up to be a powerful vampire woman. While continuing to think about the upcoming event, she noticed how Mira was mumbling in her sleep as she looked concern for the gorgon's adoptive sister.
"No one knows what's happening with her. One minute we meet up with Deuce and Mira and then out of nowhere she starts getting headaches, had to lay her down the first second we came in. Maybe it's a moth thing."
Rhodey commenting on what was going on with Mira as he quickly got a snip on the neck from Deuce's snakes since this wasn't a 'moth' thing. He got concern for this since she had finally been able to open up around others due to her nervous personality, yet now she suddenly becomes unwell and required rest. Draculaura hope she could get better for when they head back to school in the afternoon since there were many winged students she could meet there. Continuing to see if Mira was okay, she heard the doorbell ring as she walked over to the door where her worries went away as she noticed a familiar face.
"Clawdeen Wolf, your late."
Commenting on how she believed her friends would be here early to help out with setting up here due to how large her home was. Though the half werewolf girl nodded as she pulled two familiar faces to explain the reason for her being late. Noticing Junior and Frankie by Clawdeen's side as well smiling of how they might be the reason for her lateness, Draculaura only smiled since it was good seeing the three all together again. Deciding to open for a hug, the ghouls rushed in together while Junior stepped back seeing how excitable they were being.
"Come and join in!"
Frankie asking Junior as they pulled the lizard in to embrace the friendship they each had made over the time they spent together. Junior felt embarrassed at how much they jumped around after they had been apart for so long.
"Ok. It's good to see my trio of frightful ghouls, but I think we should be enjoying the party our hostess has done?"
He suggested since their vampire friend had put in much work in practicing on making this party for her friends as a test to see if she was ready for the party she'd host for Monster High. They only chuckled at how he wanted to head inside to avoid much of the hugging they were doing since he wasn't much of a hugger. Leading her friends into the home and looking at the home of Dracula as it had decorations that fitted her sense in style while not messing with her father's belongings. Taking a moment to admire the place, Clawdeen noticed a painting of her little along with both of her parents.
"That's adorable. You know I almost believed that you had the same expression that Dracula has for everything?"
Clawdeen complimenting her which left the pink skin vampire to get nervous since it was the first time anyone complemented her like that. Junior chuckled a bit since she looked much nicer there than when he first met her. Though that earned him a wave of a finger which untied his shoes quickly as it showed him as well her friends how far her witch training had progressed well.
"Not everything exactly, I haven't told him about how I'm practicing magic. Studying is fine but doing it so much different, but I've only done small bits of it. Nothing to big like last semester."
Explaining about that witchcraft was still forbidden at school due to being unpredictable and dangerous yet studying it for protection from witch attacks. Which wasn't what Draculaura wanted since she wanted to study and practice it without making anyone freaked out. Clawdeen showed a comforting smile to her seeing how things could change this year.
"Well maybe things will be different. Especially how I've gotten popular on the Eektok, even though I didn't notice it during summer vacation."
Offering an idea that she could support the idea of witchcraft being seen as a positive thing then a topic to be feared. Thinking about the suggestion, Draculaura guided them around the place showing them much of her home along noticing that her guests began to get excited at seeing Clawdeen here and waving to her. Nervous about possibly meeting her 'fans', the others let their werewolf companion go off to enjoy herself as Draculaura noticed an interesting look on Junior's face.
"Is the king jealous of getting his spotlight taken?"
Making a joke about on how he's always enjoyed getting noticed and recently showing how he was Gojira's son when it came to a fight. Though she'd never expected to see him get jealous of the different reception Clawdeen was getting right now after helping out with Komos last year.
"Really? Just before coming here, Frankie thought it be good to start the year off by going to the same place where I performed and allowed them to take most of my stage time. You are going be in charge of hosting possibly an important dance, and Clawdeen is now welcome by Monster High with monsters and Kaiju praising her. So why should I get jealous?"
Asking her that all three of them are having incredible things happening to them and him shrugging it off since it was mostly about everyone right now. The two could see how they were trying to hold in a laughter since he might have been jealous, yet still supportive how things were turning out. Noticing by the side seemed to be a place where several speakers were set up as well a microphone stand, which seemed to be somewhere that Junior could perform.
"Oh that? That was supposed to be where Cleo's Anubis guards were going to a performance of a new year. Though right now it seems my dad is using them to help keep things from breaking. I guess you can use if your feeling jealous."
Draculaura continuing to mess with him as Junior only scuffed at her for having that witty charm as he decided to do a performance to make up for being late. Meanwhile for Frankie, they noticed several of their friends near a pool table which got them excited as they got a new right hand that was an expert in pool games. Looking over to check if it be alright to play several games, which Draculaura allowed since her home was welcomed to everyone she considered friends. While the two went off to handle their own activities, Clawdeen began to meet the many students that wanted to meet her for what happened last year.
"Under the pressure, everyone's watching. New year, no secrets but I still feel under the pressure."
Starting to sing softly on how there was no need to hide her human side since most of Eektok had shown several posts about her showing her human side around the school to encourage hybrids like herself to embrace and to show others. While listening to most of their comments and being friendly to them, she walked over towards where Junior was setting up as he looked at how much was happening. Especially how it felt incredible to be a part of something that he didn't have to run away from, yet he still felt like something was wrong with it all.
"Back here in my scene, like walking in a dream. I'm where I'm supposed to be, but I don't feel like me. I thought that I'd want this, why do I feel so restless? Don't let it show, don't let 'em know."
Telling himself as he felt like things had felt perfect for him, yet there was something missing from it all as he did his best to ignore it as well perform for everyone. Stringing his guitar and getting into the moment, the students gathered around the king as he was about to play for them.
"So excited, a little bit nervous. Try to hide it beneath the surface, so excited, a little bit nervous."
Singing outwards as he quickly strung his guitar letting out an powerful ballad and begins to play. Having his music fill the entire home, both monsters and Kaiju began to dance in celebration for the new year as well getting the chance to see Junior playing to celebrate the new blood. Clawdeen, amongst the crowd joined in as well which made everyone cheered as the wolf girl danced amongst them to enjoy the moment.
"My heart goes boom, boom, boom! What if they see right through? Time to take a chance if not now, then when? My heart goes boom, boom, boom!"
Howling towards the new students which they did the same as Junior laughed at how she was able to help out with getting everyone in a brighten mood. Just as things were getting exciting, Frankie was at the pool table with Ghoulia and Armor who were trying to win the game. Getting their cue pole ready, they hit the white ball across the pool table which sent it flying off and bouncing across the wall until it landed on Armor's horn.
"It's a whole new world for me. Better get my mind on my feet, got a power, new design. Will it ever feel like mine? Got everything that I wanted, so why do I feel so awkward? Don't let it show, don't let 'em know."
Frankie singing softly as well walking over to pull off the pool ball from Armor's horn as they didn't expect to hit the ball that hard. Ghoulia groans a bit congratulating them for the shot, along with Armor not minding since he was surprised to see how strong Frankie had gotten. Quickly enough they noticed how the crowd in the living room was getting bigger as they decided to participate in the gathering.
"So excited, a little bit nervous. Try to hide it beneath the surface, so excited, a little bit nervous."
Commenting about how they got nervous as Frankie saw near the microphone Clawdeen by Junior's side entertaining the crowd which left the crowd to cheer for them. While in addition with her playing music on her Icoffin to help the lizard's performance.
"My heart goes boom, boom, boom! What if they see right through? Time to take a chance if not now, then when? My heart goes boom, boom, boom!"
The two singing together and hearing the crowd cheer for them as well seeing their friends enjoying the duet. With the crowd busy and things going swell, Draculaura was handling with checking out the surroundings to see if things weren't broken or messed with. Checking out the rooms and items that were hanging on the shelves, she noticed her father on the phone talking about getting things ready for the Fright Ball and of course finding her a date. It frustrated her that she could handle it on her own but her father couldn't see it, more importantly someone to take her out.
"I finally feel like me, who I am supposed to be so why does my freedom not feel free? Oh no, nothing's easy. Tell me, tell me is it ever gonna change? Step out of the shadow of my family name."
Thinking about her freedom of being her true self, not just the daughter of Dracula but the next witch that could be just as powerful and giving as Pandora was. Showing a bit of magic from her right hand, she hides it away quick as he noticed her daughter by the door and smiled at how she was managing the practice party. Acknowledging her father, she quickly smiled to him before hearing the crowd getting louder and having a laugh. In which she came down to the living room where she saw almost everyone in the house watching Junior as well Frankie and Clawdeen performing for everyone as well singing for them.
"My heart goes boom, boom, boom! What if they see right through? Time to take a chance if not now, then when? My heart goes boom, boom, boom!"
The trio seeing together along noticing Draculaura watching from afar seeing how everyone was having a good time. To which made Junior gesture her over so they could enjoy it together, he had the Kaiju make a path for the vampire hostess to join them. Draculaura smiled at the gesture along joining the trio with their singing as she had forgotten the thoughts of setting up the Fright Ball and asking someone out at the same time.
"My heart goes boom, boom, boom! Watch us light up the room! Time to take a chance if not now, then when? My heart goes boom, boom, boom!"
Finishing the song and Junior letting out a roar to show off his presence which made the crowd cheer for the performance he and the ghouls did for them. Half of the entire crowd was there while in the back was Deuce who continued to look after his siter, who remained asleep despite how loudly the performance was. Coming over to the couch where the gorgon and moth girl was sitting was Cleo, who couldn't help but check out on the two.
"How's she doing?"
Asking concern about how she was doing since she had much change going on during summer vacation back home. Though she made sure to keep her emotions kept in while keeping her composure as the mummy princess as she was last year, though concerned about her friends if anything looked wrong.
"She's just resting. I'll know she'll get back on her feet soon, possibly see the new things that Bloodgood has ready for us."
Deuce responding to Cleo's question as it was a while they talked about personal things since they broke up. While they did see each other's as friends and help out if anything, Cleo still felt upset about how things turned out. While the two kept an eye on Mira, she herself was dealing with another issue from within as she was dreaming. Unable to see a good image of what was going on, her mind was looking at images that involved conflict and sadness. There was shouting all around her and a shadowy figure appearing in front of her, its eyes glowed with fire as well glared at her before raising its hand towards her.
"They must stay together."
Telling her before in a moment of shock made Mira woke up in an alarming manner as well her wings coming out and fluttering towards Ceasar who had some water to help her with the illness she apparently had taken care of. Deuce and Cleo looked surprised at the sudden jolt of life put back in Mira as well her expression changing from fear to a positive outlook.
"When will be attending school?"
Curious to know when they would be heading to Monster High as Mira got off from the couch to participate in the party. Deuce and Cleo continued to look puzzled at how she woke up, along how her face showed during her sleep of fear and panic. All to then go away in an instant, while it seemed she was okay and joining the others in the fun. The nightmare she might have had said otherwise, especially of what might come once they start attend classes again.
