"There's something about seeing new blood entering the school is always exciting. Especially now with the news of students coming from across both the realm and the human world, including hybrid students who have great potential and desire to expand upon it. So when I got letters from parents that wanted to send their children here? Thrilling news! However, I've had to be stricter with the faculty members knowing their backgrounds and making sure they had a clean history that didn't involve any destructive personalities or grudges against Monster High. Luckily, I've found Kaiju teachers who can seek out any type of aggressive behavior with just their noses, I also have Nightmare to help keep an eye out for any strange activity and restrict her from heavy meals. This year I won't let anything ruin a year of deaducation and new blood experiencing Monster High for the first time."
Afternoon-Monster High
The school grounds had gotten crowded with new students rushing in different manners including flying from to the sky and tunneling from beneath the soil as it was a delightful sight for the Headmistress Bloodgood. Who watched across the entrance at how many were entering the building, including a vice principal that she could trust and was just as new to Monster High. He wore a set of glasses along had wings underneath his arms along wearing glasses to help him look around at the many monsters and Kaiju students arriving.
"Take a good look Varan. These students will be the next generation of monster and Kaiju kind, as well as changing the world in ways neither of us can imagine."
Bloodgood told her vice principal since it was his first time seeing many students coming in with excitement since he had tried to enroll into Monster High, though it was impossible after Komos tried to destroy the school. Luckily out of the many teachers who tried for the position of vice principal, Varan was picked out of the roster to help fill the position.
"I can tell. Along with that, I've worked on 'confronting' matters if any monsters or Kaiju wish to handle personal matters in the arena room underneath Monster High. Rather surprising that you investing in this after discovering it several months ago."
He stated as he showed her several papers authorizing fights in the Kaiju arena that she discovered after a group of familiar students discovered it after one of their pets had discovered it, along with a Kaiju student who wanted to challenge another to a fight. Bloodgood sighed at hearing that topic since she hoped that they wouldn't need it this year.
"I've forgotten about that room during summer break. Thinking that the students have found a way to make peace with each other, though I can feel it down my spine that it might be used again."
Suggesting to him that while a new year could be great as well as possibilities for everyone to learn something helpful, it can lead to visiting old things. The two teachers decided to explore most of the students coming to the school and help out with any questions they might need answering. While that was going on, Junior and the others had arrived where they saw numerous creatures going through the front door.
"I looked up on the Ghostly Gossip that most of the new students attending Monster High are hybrids. Each of them being half human and half monster, they thank Clawdeen for being the first."
Frankie stated as they showed them the post of her being considerably the first half-human to attend an all-monster school. This left Clawdeen embarrassed since it was still new for her to get this much popularity and make an impact on the monster community, yet all the same, she wanted to have a normal school year without anything dramatic or life-threatening.
"All I did was introduce myself to everyone with a positive outlook, and a bit of help from my beasties."
Responding to how she wouldn't have gotten this attention without her friends and them getting their independence such as Frankie learning to have more friends and Draculaura embracing her witch side. Godzilla Junior? He was still figuring himself out since the Kaiju community had mostly acknowledged them as the king. He needed to prove he would be their protector as well as a leader who would eventually have to keep the peace between them as well as monster kind.
"Well if you need help in looking as glamorous as myself, I'd be more than happy enough to aid you. Maybe get a new set of clothing, how do you feel about gold wrappings?"
Cleo offered her help since was getting noticed by several monsters as well hybrids as they waved to her in excitement as if she was a celebrity. Meanwhile, Junior, only received what looked like anxious expressions from Kaiju who wanted to fight him since they saw videos of him on Eektok fighting Komos during the first year showing off his skills and power.
"I feel like it's causing too much attention. And that's coming from someone who had to stay in the spotlight to survive and eventually get attacked daily, someone will challenge you eventually."
Warning them that Junior didn't have much of a choice in surviving since his talent in playing an instrument allowed him to get food and places to sleep within the realm, though ending tragically with getting ambushed by competitors for becoming king. They walked over to the coffee bean where they had to wait several hours before they got their class schedules since the freshmen would get theirs first, so they'd have to wait for a while. Taking a moment to order a few snacks, Junior noticed several looks he received from the gang about his warning for Clawdeen since it seemed to have them on edge.
"You think that anyone would want to pick a fight with Clawdeen? I mean she's shown everyone that she can stand up to anything and doesn't have a bad bone in her body. Nervous? Sure but not aggressive."
Lagoona asked him how Clawdeen could handle anything challenging like he could as Junior looked a bit at fault for saying that since he's seen her in action and not looking afraid. Especially how he got to see her ferocity in the woods back when he couldn't trust anyone, more importantly, him catching her from the log she stood on. He was tongue-tied at her question as well seeing Clawdeen making her way to the concession stand to get a beverage as well as with the others to talk amongst themselves.
"Looks like somebody is getting protective over you. Isn't that a sign of werewolf culture of wanting to get close to them?"
Cleo teasing Clawdeen about the suggestion that Junior brought up since he didn't want anything bad to happen to her with the attention she was receiving. Hearing that had her nervous since he didn't seem to be the affectionate type and thought of the advice as a warning since when he got noticed, he was attacked. Yet unlike her, people were interested in how she was able to handle a year of Monster High as the only hybrid there.
"Please don't joke about that. My dad would be howling himself he learned if I wanted to start dating. Especially with this Fright Ball event, I've been hearing about for the past week, what is it even about?"
Responding with an answer about getting noticed by Junior and the event that was going to be hosted by Draculaura since it seemed important for everyone in the school. Looking over to Ghoulia for an answer, she groans to them about what is important about the ball as she brings out one of the research books showing her a page that displays several residents dancing underneath the full moon.
"It's a night where both sides can let out their inner beasts without the rule of not using our abilities. Especially where they get to crown the Fright Ball King and Queen, when that happens they will be able to request anything to happen in Monster High regardless of the rules."
Armor explained that whatever the king and queen could ask for, the school would allow it as well as the staff to go along with it. Hearing that type of thing happen for whoever would be king and queen of the ball was much for Clawdeen to take, especially since she wasn't exactly looking for anyone to take to the event. While there were many monsters and Kaiju that wouldn't mind asking her out, she'd rather go with her friends since she felt comfortable around them.
"It'll be a stake in the heart but I'm counting on finding someone eventually to take with me to the ball. That way, I can ask for more classes about witchcraft."
Draculaura about what'd be doing once it was set up and her going to be the queen of Fright Ball as well adding to her letting more classes teach witchcraft. Hearing that made most of her classmates worried since they didn't mind her using magic due to how she has learned how to use it responsibly, but other monsters learning about it and possibly Kaiju would be trouble since most of them were already talented with their abilities. Noticing the expressions on their faces and concern, Draculaura knew it to help explain it for others to understand the topic.
"I promise. It's not all that scary, it's like Cleo's Egyptian lessons in magic. It's just I'm using it to create, nothing gruesome like the stories you all might have heard of."
She tried to settle their nerves about how it could be taught in the wrong way which made her friends seem to be at ease, yet it was overshadowed by Ceasar whose fur began to act up and growl at what seemed like a possible attack. Moving around the area like a lion on the hunt, he bumped into Junior who was drinking from a beverage that he got from one of the employees that were doing orders.
"Cleo! Your cat of a guardian owes me a milkshake. What's up his tail?"
Junior questioned her since he was moving around the place ignoring everything it came to a stop as everyone heard a roar coming from above them. The freshmen got afraid quickly by the surprise jump scare as they saw what looked like a werecat standing at the edge, to which Clawdeen and the others were able to recognize her. Toralei Stripe, the school's 'mean ghoul' and mischief maker they had met after settling in at Monster High. Leaping off dramatically and landing on her feet, Toralei presented herself to the freshmen showing off her prowess and appearance towards them as they applauded on her entrance.
"Monster High, I've missed you all so much."
She greeted the school as the building itself blinked several lights at her for coming back which made the freshmen cheer for how welcoming she appeared to be. Meanwhile in the back were the others not buying her 'nice' side since they saw how her emerald eyes gleamed over the monsters praising her arrival. Taking a moment to look over at the gang, she showed a smile to them expressing an interest in seeing them again after the time she spent in Scaris.
"Quite the entrance you made Toralei. Thought you'd come in with your cousins, after all, they are your family and band."
Cleo compliments her while bringing up a question about her being by herself and not having Meowlody and Purrsephone by her side since they were considered her best friends out of everyone in Monster High. Hearing the mummy bringing up her cousins made her smirk since it was something important, she hoped she'd hear from the gang.
"They're staying in Scaris for the time being. My mom needed help and they were more than happy to help with werecat matters, though who said I was alone? I mean I have help with landing on the rooftop."
Replying to Cleo which made Junior groan at what she meant as he noticed Frankie's bolts reacting to what seemed like a powerful electrical source coming towards them. Most of the electrical objects around the Coffee Bean began to act up as they heard the sky rumbling with lighting as well a figure landing right behind Toralei in a frightful manner. He extended his wings to let everyone see him as they figured out how Toralei was able to make her entrance, which was with the help of Ghidorah. The three-headed Dragon son from Gojira's deadliest enemies, as well as his current rival and takes Junior's role as king of the Kaiju.
"Admit it. We look cool now do we?"
Kevin asked them as he was considered the nice head of the body while the others were considerably rude, such as the right head being aggressive and angry while the middle was in control and intellectual head. Junior in his response rolled his eyes at the comment since the dragon boy seemed to want the same attention that they gave to Toralei as the brothers noticed Junior staring at them.
"Godzilla Junior. I recently read about you on the Ghostly Gossip, showing your soft side to monsters and Kaiju. Along holding back when your fighting."
The right head telling him as Junior stood up from his chair to walk over towards Ghidorah staring at each of the heads in a serious manner due to how he said, 'soft side'. Each of his friends saw the same post that Spectra posted when he along Heath and Rhodey handled that fire bull at the mall, though there was something with Ghidorah that made Junior take it personally.
"That's only when they realize I'm offering them a chance. You? We both know how fathers battled every time they met. Guess your planning on continuing the tradition?"
Questioning him as the two heads except for Kevin growled towards him since that was the one thing they could agree with Junior. That one of them would be king and the other would submit, it left everyone in suspense seeing if they would see the first fight to start the year off. It was quickly interrupted by the sound of electricity as it came from Frankie who had restored most of the lights that were affected by Ghidorah's presence.
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend, or the friend of my enemy is my enemy. Or the enemy of my enemy is my enemy, I don't know which version fits best for the situation. But there's always room for change between both of you, especially how you can try and see past your conflict and be friends."
Offering a suggestion for them to find a solution that didn't resolve fighting as well possibly change their ways. While Junior could do it for them and the others since there were Kaiju that would offer a hand in being a friend, Ghidorah didn't seem interested in the idea as the heads turned away neglecting the idea. Toralei walked over to try her part in defusing the situation since there was more to this aggressive side the dragon was showing.
"Sorry love, but the idea of making new friends isn't exactly in the cards ever since what happened in Scaris. Which involved witches attacking us."
The werecat expressing an angered tone in her voice due to how witches had been against monster kind for centuries. This left Draculaura to keep silent since the conflict had only been around vampires and witches since they represent life and death, to hear them attacking monsters was new. To express what happened in Scaris, Toralei pulled up her sleeve showing off what appeared to be a scar from a knife.
"Wraith Silver. Forged in ancient times by witches to harm monsters of any species, especially those with regenerative abilities. I suppose Draculaura told you all about it since she studies witchcraft and not use it, right?"
Looking over to Draculaura due to the rumors of her studying witchcraft since most of the monsters remembered seeing what looked like magical essence coming towards her during the night when Junior destroyed Komos. Seeing how she reacted to Toralei's commented, Clawdeen stood by her side, so she didn't feel like the center of blame for the witch attacks happening.
"Things are different at Monster High, especially if it involves witchcraft. Which could be studied for good in the right hands."
Responded in a confident tone for how Draculaura hadn't let magic change her and using it to help her friends when it came to it. Toralei merely shook her head at the comment since witchcraft was dangerous in any hands if they didn't know how dangerous it was, along it coming from a half werewolf who kept her secret of being human when she came to the school in the first place.
"While you might find it possible to trust people on a whim, it's different in the real world. Especially how to handle witches."
Toralei stating as they heard a chuckle from Ghidorah's right head who might have been responsible for handling the witches when they attacked the werecats. With the idea coming to each of their heads of what fate the three headed dragon did to the attackers, Toralei walked pass them with a cup in her hand and making her leave with Ghidorah by her side as it left an impression that the two had changed drastically and would have to keep an eye out if they wanted to try another scheme that would make them center of attention for Monster High.
Later-Dorm rooms
With having seen what the summer had done to Toralei and Ghidorah along getting everyone tensed, the gang had split up to return back to their old rooms so they could unpack and settle back into their rooms. Each of them took out new items they had received from summer vacation such as books Draculaura found that involved the history of witchcraft, new limbs that Frankie's parents had given them to help adjust with the upgrades they had received to help with the second year. Clawdeen was unpacking new clothes that she managed to make by herself at home during her time with her dad, Junior was the only one to not unpack as he was pacing around his room about what he saw when Ghidorah made his arrival and possibly destroying the witches in Scaris.
"That three headed tyrant! He had to start getting me agitated by showing off his new powers, I mean seriously it's been years and he's carrying on his dad's grudge against mine? I can let go off things because I can finish it but him? No, he wants to start it up and possibly have us fighting until he starts spitting out fangs."
He complained about his rival stirring him up and seeing if he could scare him into fighting him again like before. The ghouls saw how he continued to prattle on along his scales lighting up due to his anger building up, if he wasn't careful, he could lose control and use his fire breath. Draculaura pulled out her Grimoire to try and settle down the angered lizard.
"Stomping beast in its place, stops it's feet with swift haste."
Using a spell to make Junior stop in his tracks as he couldn't lift his feet off from the floor. Taking a moment to look at Draculaura for the quick spell, he looked at himself in the mirror seeing how his scales were radiating with energy. He breathed in and out softly to restrain himself as the glow from his back went away.
"If you feel uncomfortable around him then just stay with us. We're always strong whenever any of us are together, especially now since Toralei might be bringing up witch attacks here at Monster High."
Clawdeen offering support if Junior felt like he would have to fight Ghidorah if they met up again due to the aggression he displayed towards him. While in addition turning to Draculaura about the witch incident and metal called 'Wraith Silver' that she hadn't heard about. Noticing their looks of concern to her, the vampire decided to share that bit for them since they were the first to learn about her secret.
"Wraith Silver was considered the one weapon to harm monsters because of their biology. More importantly had been lost since the last fight that involved the metal, my father had ordered destroyed so that it didn't hurt anyone else. Also that most witches don't harm monsters, they keep to themselves since in the human world. They are looked at as monsters."
Sounding sad since the books she had read about them included multiple witch hunts, burnings and things that she couldn't tell them. It was like that with Pandora since she was one of the few who didn't have others like herself, wanting to use her magic to aid others. Though people couldn't understand her which resulted in coming to the realm of Kaiju and creating Monster High with the help of Gojira.
"Well this year is different. Headmistress Bloodgood knows that magic if learn right can be good for monsters and Kaiju, if it could help with making this school and other. Then you can do the same for vampires."
Clawdeen encouraged Draculaura with thinking positive in practicing witchcraft as it made her smile from the words as she looked at the others agreeing with her. More or less Junior since it was the reason why he was here along Kaiju kind, with that being answered they heard the skull bell ringing as an announcement was being made.
"Welcome to Monster High! All returning and new students please attend the Clawditorium for a special announcement from Headmistress Bloodgood, be sure to be there or it's off with your head!"
The skeleton head telling the school as it made the four curious about what it might be as well if it could involve the Fright Ball dance coming up. With how urgent it sounded, they placed their stuff on the side and proceeded to head out, though Frankie stopped them since they wanted a quick photo.
"Group selfie? For good luck since we're back together. Plus I enjoy having photos to look at, to remember the good moments we have."
Expressing to share a photo with each other since it be a good moment to have after the talk they just had. Seeing how it seemed right to share a photo as a group, they looked to Junior as the king merely nodded since it felt depressing after hearing that witches were no different than monsters. Nodding his head to the reanimated ghoul's request, the four got close for Frankie's Icoffin to share a group selfie as they expressed a smile to make it look exciting. With that being finished, the four made their way out into the hallway and towards the Clawditorium to see what the big announcement was for the student body of Monster High.
