Clawdeen Pov:
"Witch attacks? That's the first time I've heard about that and it happens to someone I'd thought wouldn't be attacked since Toralei avoids magic and witches. Along that it would be handled by Ghidorah who might have done something I don't want to even think of since it could be too graphic, though as long as we stay clear of the two, I think things will go alright. More importantly, it can be different here at Monster High with how many new students seeing the change, as well as getting a chance to learn that witchcraft isn't something to be afraid of as well getting the chance to meet Junior and see he isn't what the stories are about from the Kaiju that share it across the realm. With that happening, I hope it keeps me out since I've become a monster star amongst the freshmen and internet which is a bit too much for this werewolf to handle. All I want is to have a simple school year with everyone, and I can tell Pandora herself would want it with the students since this place should welcome everyone. Monsters, Kaiju, and possibly would be witches if the opportunity came."
Later-Clawditorium
The entire school had started to assemble in the room with them sitting in places that best suited them, the students with wings birched themselves on the rafters while the aquatic creatures had several tubes where they could stay soaked while paying attention to the stage. Arriving at the Clawditorium, Clawdeen saw her friends finding their seats and holding a spot for her to sit by them since it was going to be important and they had to get the best seats to listen closely.
"Clawdeen!"
a voice cried out from behind the werewolf as it startled her from behind as she saw the purple haired ghost, Spectra Vondergeist. The writer of the Ghostly Gossip as well as the ghost loves a good story no matter how big or small it is. She pulled out what looked like a recorder as it surprised Clawdeen at a possible interview she was receiving.
"It's Spooktacular that you're going be a part of the first Fright Ball announcement speech. I already know about it since the walls are thin but tell me. What are your thoughts about the dance? Are you going to bring anyone on that night?"
Spectra asked several questions about the dance which caught Clawdeen off guard since the last thing she wanted to think about was dating since she was finally getting the grasp of school and not want anything to ruin it. Seeing how Spectra was anxious and waiting for her questions to be answered, Clawdeen decided to answer it to the best of her ability.
"For right now I don't know, all I'm worried about is passing my classes without getting detention. Heard they had large spiders that will want students to help make webs since they don't have much thread."
Answering the ghost reporter's question they heard a roar from the gargoyles as they wanted all students attend to their seats. The two rushed over to their seats and got ready to see what the announcement was well heard from the entrance the sound of galloping along a horse neighing around the students. Frightened by the noise, the students took cover as they saw the horse Nightmare rushing inside with Bloodgood riding the steed as she leaped onto the stage with the horse snorting fire from its nose. It was a frightening arrival which made most of the students pay attention while the others did not mind since they knew it was for show.
"Good evening, Monster High! Welcome to a new year of deaducation and learning for returning and new students that have graced us with their arrival."
The headmistress told everyone as the students were prepared to cheer out for the acknowledgment. It was cut short as the lights and doors began to go off in an alarming manner which made most of the monsters and Kaiju frightened since most of them didn't know that the school was alive. More importantly, it had the spirit of Pandora within every brick and tile that the school was built on. Noticing the frightened Kaiju in front of him, Junior coughed behind them getting their attention as they were surprised at how close they were to the king.
"Don't worry. The school isn't all that bad, it is like meeting new students. Enjoys a good scare or two."
He informed them how the school was reacting as he chuckled at how they looked nervous with him behind them and the school being alive. Clawdeen looked at him seeing how he was messing with the new students as he had to focus on what was happening on stage. Looking at Bloodgood who was seeing everyone paying attention, the headless woman could get to the business of why everyone was gathered here.
"To all new students and returning, this year will be the year when you will all be able to attend Fright Ball. When you are allowed to bring out your inner monster and show everyone how unique each of you is."
Explaining about Fright Ball which had the students curious about what it was as the present walked behind her she pulled out one of the torches that were hanging on the wall. Walking behind a large white crystal that was placed for the gathering, she placed the fire behind it which showed a glow that showed several figures of monsters and Kaiju dancing together as well them displaying their powers for everyone to witness.
"Before there was peace amongst monsters and Kaiju. We had our problems, importantly establishing a connection between newcomers of the realm and its residents who were as tall as the mountains. It was rough as we battled for a new home away from the humans, so upon Fright Night. With the help of Gojira, Pandora is well king of vampires himself Dracula. United to create a day where we could show our true selves without fear, as well their children attending with us right now."
Bloodgood gives them a historical lesson on how the Fright Ball had started when it began as a challenge to allow monsters to adjust to the realm. She also included two students who had parents involved with the event as Draculaura stood up to acknowledge her name that was brought up, while Junior was nervous to stand seeing Ghidorah's eyes glaring at him with anger. Keeping calm and not allowing it to intimidate him, the two sat back down to focus on more of the announcement.
"With that coming. They will vote on a king and queen of Fright Ball, which will represent who will show the full moon to everyone and allow them to embrace their inner monster. Anyone can be it with charisma, charm, and above all else. Looking after their own as well as others in need of aid. As well as requesting to make Monster High even better when the two are chosen by the student body."
Stating how the titles of king and queen could be given to anyone regardless of year and species since there had been many monsters that gotten the role. Including the last part with whoever won being king and queen, anything they could ask for would happen and could not be changed. With that going on they soon heard the school bell ringing as the announcement had been finished. Though they looked at the headmistress had more to tell them since it was still the first day.
"It's important to keep your eyes open and alert around the school grounds. There's always something happening if you don't keep your eyes out. Or head on straight."
She warned them that they should keep up with classes and not let the dance distract them as she allowed everyone to make their way off back to the dorm rooms or classes. It was crowded with how many were stepping out, during the commotion Mira took a look at one of the posters that was being hung on the wall by the gargoyles.
"Thinking about trying out?"
Deuce asked her as he noticed how she looked at the two silhouetted figures where anyone could take the spots. Her eyes looked at the poster further to where she began having what seemed like a vision, it showed what looked like a couple with great power as well looking at a building. Both had their left and right hand glowed with different auras of magic as well aiming at the building, which turned to a bright light that snapped her senses as she looked at Deuce as she didn't hear his question.
"Trying what out?
Responded not knowing what he said it made Deuce concerned at how she didn't reply to him as he had to figure out what was happening to her. The two headed to their classes while the others talked amongst themselves about how the Fright Ball would turn out.
"This will be my very first dance at a ball. Maybe not first since my left leg belonged to a ballerina that performed at the Royal Opera House in Londoom."
Frankie admitted to it being a special moment as they did a perfect spin with them standing still with their left foot and doing a pose. In which the three applauded Frankie's spin as they soon saw how most of the students began to mutter about what ideals they had if any monster or Kaiju won the position of king and queen of Fright Ball. Draculaura saw many of them looking over at her thinking of ideas of asking her out on a date to possibly get the chance to become king since she was obviously to get the role of queen, the moment was caught off by Junior and Clawdeen who weren't liking how they looked at their vampiric friend.
"Guess everyone is going be looking for you two in being their date. Welcome to my life."
Junior responds to the two since now they know what it is like getting chased by numerous suitors who want to spend a special moment with them for one night, It is much different from him since he's always chased every day for Kaiju to him for the right to become king. They shared a sarcastic laugh at his response due to how it wouldn't scare them, especially how most of the monsters and Kaiju weren't pushovers and could be fierce when they needed to be. Walking over to the class schedule, Junior heard a groan from his side as it was Ghoulia who was groaning at him about something important.
"Sorry Ghoulia. But I'm still having trouble with understanding zombie language, I knew I should have taken that class instead of underwater slumber. Still can't believe I got a 'C' while Titan got an 'A'."
He responded to the smart zombie about how he had trouble understanding zombies since it was difficult to learn. Fortunately, the ghouls could understand what Ghoulia was saying as well looking over to Junior who might be needed for what she was saying.
"She found something that's important, it involves your dad."
Frankie relayed the response to him as it made the mood quiet since Junior didn't think about anyone finding information on Gojira since most of the realm and school knew about him. Yet when Ghoulia said it, he believed it as he could tell from her blue eyes that she was telling the truth, seeing the ghouls gesturing him to go. The king followed Ghoulia curious about what the zombie had discovered and how it was a personal matter that he needed to know immediately. While that was being settled, they heard laughter coming from the side which came from Toralei as she had several monsters around her as well as Ghidorah who had made his club of admirers since he helped battle the witches in Scaris.
"I wouldn't worry about them. Most of the school knows about the 'Earworm' incident and they are causing trouble, I'm sure you'll get to be Fright Ball queen. In the meantime, there is something I need help with that involves us meeting new classmates for tomorrow morning."
Clawdeen encourages her to stay focused on setting up the dance and how Toralei wouldn't get the position due to her reputation of being the bad ghoul at Monster High. Hearing the confidence from her and Frankie supporting it made Draculaura relieved at having them by her side, as well curious about what Clawdeen had to do since it could be a way to meet new students and possibly get help with setting the Fright Ball for everyone to enjoy.
Later-Cleo's Dorm Room
Heading to the room of Cleo De Nile, which was shrouded in gold and hieroglyphic symbols, the other side was styled in zombie fashion which represented Ghoulia's side. Other sets of beds belonged to Armor and Caesar who had their styles such as Shisa culture around the walls while Armor had collectibles and photos of his dad helping build homes across the realm. Ghoulia brought Junior inside where he took a moment to examine the room as it was big as well looked luxurious.
"Okay. Now I'm jealous, I mean everyone has a good room but this is ridiculous. You could fit a whole store in here."
He stated as the lizard examined the room further until he looked forward seeing Caesar and Armor by the side as well as an object that was made Junior look directly at. It was his father's guitar case which he was given to by Pandora after the fight with Komos, he looked at the two Kaiju confused as to why it was here and not back in his room where he had placed it there.
"I was doing several rounds for Bloodgood in checking out the accommodations for the new students. Until I saw your door opening up and the lights acting up, I didn't know what but it was trying to message me and directed me to your guitar case."
Armor explained how he was the one that brought it here and needed to check it which meant Pandora was behind it. The reptile not only growled at this wasn't the time for dramatic moments since Toralei and Ghidorah could be a problem for Draculaura since she practices witchcraft and wouldn't mind 'handling' her if they learned about her witch training.
"Cleo's right now out of the room to greet new candidates for Fearleading, so will have the room to ourselves. Seeing how Ghoulia found something in the guitar case that you didn't have the chance to look at."
Caesar informed Junior how they'd have the room without any interruptions and called him out for not taking a better look at his father's guitar case. Hearing how he made him sound negligent made his scales glow at the response, though Ghoulia whistled loudly stopping the two from arguing since he couldn't lose control as it was important what she learned about the guitar case. Walking over to the case and opening it up, she found a small lever at the side and pulled it to show a secret compartment that contained several papers that were withered and old. Groaning at Junior about them being impossible to read due to how the words had faded out, she was able to remake the letters and make new letters to help Junior read them.
"There are notes. About him and Pandora? Gross. If you wanted to tell me that he might had a thing for then it was obvious, most monsters knew that if two creatures were powerful. Then they should date, that's not new."
Junior responded about how it could be something of Gojira having feelings for the witch which didn't bother him since he knew they'd be a couple. Though the three didn't respond since that wasn't the answer as they wanted him to be the one to read the letters, it only got Junior annoyed since he disliked riddles or anything cryptic like. Taking a moment to grab a chair, he sat down to read it since he could tell the others had a chance to look at the letters.
"Since the great fall of Kaiju, many of us have found our new size to be a blessing in disguise due to how we can interact with our home without stomping on the lands as well destroying everything in our path. Though there is a side effect to this, most Kaiju have shown to be stronger than in their original sizes due to the abilities they had with them. I am one of them due to my aggressive nature growing more each day, as well as my powers."
Junior started to read the letters as he read how each day that passed by him, Gojira's power had become uncontrollable and dangerous around the creatures he decided to help. Continuing to read the letters, he found a paper that involved a way to help him with this problem.
"I met what appeared to be a human and considered him a threat but was an amalgamation with the brain that his creator gave him before his life passed away. Frankenstein's monster, who understood how to harness and manipulate energy due to him being reanimated with electricity. He saw how my powers revolved around emotions such as aggression, which has been considered unrivaled by anyone who came here. He believes that if I don't calm myself I will eventually, blow up."
Reading the lasting part with a hint of fear due to how he's lately gotten stronger with his powers as well as angry at the same time. Looking at his classmates to see if this was all that he had to read, Ghoulia groans at him to continue as the last page was important leaving Junior to continue reading the last page since it appeared she knew what was coming next.
"There was an answer in my moment of peril, or rather a way to keep my power in check to prevent others from harm. He said only a being of equal power could be able to restrain it, as well as someone who understood the pain of being alone in the world as I have been. In which the one person who aided me during the transformation was the witch who stood at me when she entered our realm. I do not know if I have the strength for it, but I must ask her hand in forming a relationship with her and sharing my power. As my future queen."
Finishing the page as well as sounding confused at the last sentence since how he tried to piece it together in a frightening manner. The only way that Gojira was able to restrain his ever growing power and keep it in check was to have someone help him with it, along the way be by his side as his consort. His eyes widen at how his father might have dated Pandora and eventually became his wife, but more importantly what this means for him.
"I need to start dating if I don't want to blow up?!"
Shouted in confusion, shock, and disbelief as the three nodded in unison at how it was real. He needs to find someone who can restrain his powers and share his life in the hope of not destroying everyone as well as himself.
"Frankenstein called it the 'Courtship'. He did the same with his bride and they were able to light up an entire town back in their old home. Kinda romantic if you think about it."
Armor suggested how it could be a good thing that he found someone who would be his match since he had become more welcoming to the public as well as everyone at school. This left Junior to glow in anger from the comment since it was a topic, he wasn't fond of, especially due to how he didn't know how to even start. Leaning his hand by a golden throne where it might have been Cleo's, it began to melt under his palm and slowly sank into the floor as the reptile boy pulled away shocked at how he ruined half of the golden chair.
"It's already started, and if this is just hearing bad news. Then eventually you'll meltdown until you go off."
Caesar warned him of the reality of finding someone who could help him with this issue as well as become his 'queen'. This was ironic since the Fright Ball was coming up and it seemed that he might need to find one soon before the dance came, otherwise, he might put the home he tried to stay away from in danger. Breathing in to cool off from what he had done and doing his best to relax, Junior's scales began to fade away reverting to normal as he looked at his friends unsure of how he could start something he had no experience in.
"I don't think I can do it."
Telling the three how out of the things that he could try out and do without showing any fear, dating was the one thing that terrified him. Caesar sighs at how the king was acting and knew this was one of the obstacles he had to face head on.
"You have to try at the very least. I'm sure you've found someone here to be suitable for someone like yourself. If not, we all go boom with you. Maybe not Ghoulia since her and the zombies survive."
Giving Junior an idea of being interested in any Kaiju or monster that caught his fascination since he started attending Monster High. While bringing up the topic of the individual he would date, it was interrupted by a scream that came from Cleo who saw Junior near her melted throne. Quickly passing out from the sight, Caesar rushed over and caught the princess since it was tragic sight to seeing of hers ruined. Ghoulia groaned at the sight as well pulled out her Icoffin and began to check off a symbol of Cleo which left Junior confused by her action.
"She's marking off Cleo of potential relationships you'd make. One down, hundreds to go."
Armor explained the peculiar reason for what she did as this left Junior to groan at how it was now going to be a headache in the problems that might be stirring up. From Toralei and Ghidorah scaring the freshmen about witches, the Fright Ball that has now become a competition for the best couple to win and have any request of theirs happening. Lastly and to say the least him finding a match that could help Junior in controlling his powers before he goes atomic and levels the school, it was another year of trouble and him being the center of it.
