Draculaura Pov:
"Why did he agree to such a thing? If anything I should have been the one to handle the issue of witchcraft being studied at Monster High since I'm the resident witch. Junior has no idea what he's doing and what might happen if he loses, I know he's a king and all, but he has to know if anything happens I can study witchcraft or Ellis since he's the first vampire witch like me attending here. I don't know why he infuriates me whenever he acts so stubborn and gets into fights without discussing the matter with us, yet if that's the case then I should at least coach him in what he should expect if he fighting against a Kaiju that's battled witches and won. Just hope the conversation doesn't happen in the creepateria since I'm now working on the Fright Ball decorations and areas where everyone will be enjoying, almost everyone."
Morning-Creepateria
There was much commotion happening around Monster High with the witch attack last night and coming after Draculaura, many speculate that it was Clawdeen they were after because she was the first monster half human student that could be used for their spells. Then students thought it was Godzilla Junior since he was the new king of the Kaiju and would use a spell that would have him turn on everyone, for right now there was much gossip and no answer to what happened last night. Right now at the creepateria was the gang who were working on setting up for Fright Ball and making space for the dance area as well as working on a stage for the king and queen who would sit side by side once they had been announced. Junior was by several speakers and instruments for where the band would play and was looking over several records that would be played for the dance.
"If only this was a heavy metal dance, we'd be dancing to Five Finger Death Punch and Disturbed, but nope. We get Justin Biter."
He sighed over the selection of music that most of the students unbody voted on pop music and different genres that would liven things when the dance happened. Clawdeen and Frankie were helping out with hanging up spider webs and lights for when the night would come, while also thinking about the fight happening in the afternoon.
"Has he spoken to you about the fight? Is he nervous? Anxious? Angry?"
Frankie asked her about how Junior had been feeling since after they came back to the dorm room. Junior was still injured from the wounds that Gigan had given him and said nothing to the ghouls. Clawdeen shook her head concerned for what he might be going through since she heard that during the fight with the intruder, Ghidorah came in at the right time to save him from getting killed.
"He's said nothing. The only thing he's been focused on was helping out with the dance and that's it, I think it's best just to let him have his personal space. When he wants me to talk will be there."
The werewolf ghoul suggested how it was a bad time to discuss how he would be taking the matter of letting witchcraft be studied at Monster High since it affected most of the student's views of him. Continuing to work on the surroundings, they heard several grunts coming from the doors as it was several Annubus guards bringing in different types of decorations that represented monster and kaiju history for whoever would be elected as king and queen.
"All this drama is bad for both complexion and face muscles. If anyone wants a shot to take those two down I suggest you remember how fashionable you all are."
Spoke to none other than Cleo who noticed how everyone seemed depressed from the attack last night and wanted to remind them that it was important they would make a good impression on the students if they had a chance of becoming king or queen of the dance. Right by the water fountain where Lagoona and Titan were working on putting in several piranhas for the guests to feed them, the aquatic ghoul sighed at the thought of being chosen as queen.
"If I had the chance to be this year's Fright Queen. I'd make the swimming room stay open for everyone, not just for a basic swim but to have a pool party."
The aquatic ghoul offered an idea that would benefit the school and everyone who wanted to enjoy a good swim, much like the others who thought of ideas that could help make Monster High exciting and fun activities to do when everyone wanted to get a break from classes. Everyone else thought of ideas for making the school enjoyable and taking it easy from classes, Junior didn't have any sense if he made a suggestion that could benefit the school it would lead to others questioning it. However, it seems unlikely since he was siding with magic which Draculaura represented and studied since none of the school knew about her secret.
"What about you Junior? Bet you want to host a concert to show your skills with human songs?"
Titan asked as the aquatic boy didn't receive an answer due to how closed off, he was with the fight that was going to happen in the afternoon. The lizard remained silent as he continued setting up speakers for the music and entertainment that would happen. Just as they continued to work on the ball, Junior heard something from outside of the creepateria that the others didn't as it sounded like an argument happening. Taking the chance and seeing how the ghouls were busy, he decided to investigate and see what the commotion was about. Noticing near one of the tables where there weren't any monsters or kaiju about was Draculaura who seemed upset and seemingly speaking to someone on her Icoffin.
"I will not hear of it Draculaura. My daughter was in danger and could have been harmed by some, what did they call it? 'Cyborg'? Whatever it was you're coming home now."
The voice said from the phone it sounded like Dracula who was concerned and upset about what happened last night. It was surprising to hear the lord of vampires act frightened after hearing about his daughter in danger, and it was surprising how he didn't put on his old armor and come into the school to hunt down whoever tried to harm Dracualura. Not saying a word, the king listened to the conversation and did not try to be seen since it was the first time he'd seen a serious talk between a parent and child.
"That's not fair dad, I wasn't harmed and there has been more security placed around the school. More importantly, I can take care of myself since you help teach me how to petrify people if they tried to harm me."
She stated how she wouldn't let this attack make her scared and go back home since there were important things happening here that had to handled. Though the look on Dracula's face proved otherwise since the 'people' that came after her were witches. Witches that he had battled in the old days before learning about Pandora as well the realm of Kaiju.
"This is different. If these witches are from my past then I do not want you around them, especially if it's to get to me."
He responded over the fact that he had battled many covens which resulted in making many enemies, which would be carried down to future generations. Dracula thought that his words would have gotten to her and she'd think about what he'd just said, though from the screen he saw a serious look on Draculaura's face. Similar to his when he would show his enemies no fear or sign of backing down, he sighs at her response since it appeared Draculaura had made up her mind on staying here.
"Then they know I'm not as weak and defenseless as they think. Especially the company I keep around, so I need you to trust me. In letting me be a vampire and handle situations like this."
Draculaura pleaded to him how she wasn't a little bat anymore and could do things not even he'd could imagine. The father remains silent at her response to his request, seeing how she'd continue to argue on staying here while being threatened. She waited for a response as it was surprising for her to make a stand at him, though she had no choice in the matter since she didn't want witchcraft to be feared again by monsters.
"I'll give you one chance Draculaura. If anything happens to you again, I'm bringing you home."
Making a deal with her on if anything else happened around Draculaura and gets caught in trouble, he'd bring her straight back home and not let her return to Monster High. Having no choice but to agree to his condition, her father hangs up leaving the vampire to think about how she had to be alert for any kind of trouble that would be around her and not getting caught. While feeling fortunate enough to have her father see her as more than her daughter, it was still bothersome on how he couldn't trust her to be around any kind of danger.
"At least this time he got to listen."
Junior spoke out interrupting the moment which made the ghoul jump at how he was there and not making any noise during the conversation. This left Draculaura to let out a frightful look towards him to show how she'd handle herself if there was anything that tried to harm her. While it might have scared one of the students at school or Kaiju's that weren't intimidating, Junior wasn't fazed by her look but gave her a questionable look towards the scare.
"Guess this is the 'vampire handling situations' look your going have if it's not me or the others."
Responded to her which left Draculaura to groan at annoyance at what he said as she rubs the temple of her forehead seeing how she hadn't need to act intimidating since Monster High was a welcoming environment. Inviting him over to talk to since she wanted to speak with him about the fight between him and Ghidorah in the hope of letting witchcraft happen at school, she had to figure out what was going on with his head when he accepted that offer.
"Well the look on my face is now changed to 'Why decide something that doesn't involve you?'. Because your the one that might not be able to handle yourself due to the wraith silver injuries you obtained."
Draculaura pointed out as she pokes at one of the bandages he'd received from the nurse's office. Pointing at one of them, Junior winces at how he could still feel the sting as well how it could be a weakness that Ghidorah and Toralei could exploit during the fight. He shakes his head at the obvious bruises he'd earned and wasn't fazed by them.
"These injuries are sign that I need to be careful in the fight. As well that there's something important worth getting hurt for, since all I've fought for was a reason to exist here."
He expressed on that during his childhood trying to survive a harsh environment with desperate Kaiju seeking to take him out to become the new king. This was the one chance to show everyone that he could fight for important things than survival, yet Draculaura shook her head at this fight since she didn't want him to risk getting hurt during the fight.
"But there's a chance that he could humiliate you and make everyone see him as potentially the new king. Do you want to risk that? Because it was witchcraft that made every Kaiju our size for us to interact with each other."
She asked him since when they first met, Draculaura would try and mess with him whenever she had the chance since it was fun to be around someone like her that had a powerful parent as well was more than just a monster. Along bringing up a sensitive topic about if it wasn't for witchcraft, it was likely that the Kaiju's would remain their titanic size and Gojira would still be around if Pandora didn't arrive here to change everything. Junior took the moment to think about it as well how Draculaura was correct, it was a risk if he'd lose the fight and have witchcraft banned from Monster High.
"If it's to help you let witchcraft be in Monster High, then I'll take that chance since Pandora made the school. So I'm fighting for her as well."
Junior stated about that a witch help build the school in the first place which left everyone to forget how she used witchcraft to allow everyone to attend Monster High. Hearing him said took her by surprise since he was right that Pandora and his father built the school for everyone, as well facing difficult odds with people who thought it couldn't work. While he could tell she would support him during the fight as well to wipe the floor with Ghidorah who spoke ill towards Clawdeen last night, she was showing a concern look for what could happen during the match.
"I just don't want to be the reason why you get more hurt."
Draculaura explained how he could end up in a worse state than he was already in. The lizard boy looked surprised by the comment as well herself since she didn't think about saying it since the words came out of nowhere. The two were left in silence from how they spoke to one another until they heard a sudden cough from the side which came from Caesar, who came in right where he saw them interacting with one another.
"Didn't want to intrude but, you have a couple hours left before it starts. Might want to get ready."
He instructed Junior as the lizard only nodded before leaving Draculaura as he had to prepare for his fight. The Shisa was curious about how the two had a 'moment' with one another, though it was best not to ponder since she could possibly be his 'queen' if Junior played his cards right. Draculaura on the other hand felt embarrassed for letting herself say that to him since she was concern for all her friends whenever they get into trouble. What she and the others could do now was encourage him to survive whatever he might face when they arrive into the arena.
Later-The Catacombs
With the hours passing and classes being finished, the students that were in Bloodgood's office had arrived last night to witness the challenge happening were gathering to the Kaiju arena that was hidden within the catacombs. Each of them took seats waiting for the fight to start as well felt nervous being around several statues that displayed previous fighters that entered the ring surviving the battles that happened in the past. The ghouls arrived to where they saw how many students were attending the match and saw by the side was Toralei with several monsters who represented witchcraft that shouldn't be allowed at Monster High.
"Can't you smell it? The anxiety? The hearts beating of who could win, the blood that could be spilled?!"
Lagoona asking her friends as she was getting too much into the fight which had the others nervous since the last time they discovered the place it was the same time where Ghidorah revealed himself. Now, this fight could decide how witchcraft could be seen at Monster High and if it would be around it's halls. Finding the proper seats to watch the match, they noticed at what looked like a throne was Bloodgood with Nightmare by the side with her mane groomed for the fight.
"This reminds me of the Carpophorus Slaughter, he was a gladiator during the Flavian Amphitheatre Inaugural Games who fought wild animals. Not much is known for what happened to him, but they did say the animals that he slayed had cubs that took their vengeance on him."
Frankie bringing up a historical fact that they remembered which didn't help since Ghidorah acted like a beast when he met Junior and battled him here. Much tension was building up as they heard a roar coming from above them which came from Varan, who had gotten the attention of the audience as he would be the one to announce how the match would happen.
"Students of Monster High! As you know this is the first official match in the history of our school that the headmistress has allowed, as such the old rules apply here. Whoever yields loses, there are to be no fatal blows as this fight is to see whether witchcraft will be accepted at the school. Let the fight, begin!"
Explaining how it wasn't a fight to the finish but to see who would surrender if pushed to the limit. Flying upwards to join the headmistress at the stands, the students saw two entrances opening up in a dramatic manner as everyone begun to cheer for the boys. Coming out of his area was Junior wearing proper attire of armor since they were handling this in the old ways when their fathers would fight one another. Looking over to the side, he saw his friends cheering him on along cheering him on which embarrassed him since he's never had anyone cheer for him.
"Really hope this doesn't end up with them tearing off their armor. It happened during the time when Perseus tried to attack my mom, she almost fell for him before my other mom Lyra was able to save her from a fatal haircut."
Deuce remembering a memory from his mom's past as the gorgon saw coming from the other entrance Ghidorah stepping out. The three head dragon's armor seemed sharper and could be used to slice Junior if he wasn't careful. The two boys stood in front of one another in silence as they looked at each other in a serious manner as the torches around them lite up to tell everyone that the fight had begun. The two moved around the area slowly to see which of them would make the first move, watching from the sidelines was Toralei who began to stomp her feet to get a beat started.
"Let this be a warning, your safety is at stake. Better protect your families, ancient enemies awake."
The werecat started to sing about how witchcraft was dangerous and it caused intruders to invade Monster High. The stomping of her feet and clapping of hands made the other students repeat her actions, Ghidorah's heads smirked at the tension she was building up. Showing Junior his claws, he slowly claws the ground to intimidate him which left Junior to get angry since he was using Toralei's stomping against him.
"The witches are among us; you never know who you can trust. If you only knew what's coming. I think you'd be on the run."
Toralei advising the students around her as the witches that came to Monster High could come around again and attack any of them. Witnessing the Kaiju's at the seats getting afraid of her words, Junior rushed at Ghidorah as the two locked hands in a standoff. Both of them tried to overpower each other which seemed impossible, Ghidorah's heads smiled at the lizard as he was pushed Junior back.
"You should be afraid, look out for yourself. You should be afraid, look out for yourself."
Ghidorah's heads singing to him as the right head was about to go for a bite of Junior's shoulder. Grabbing the head, he didn't see Kevin headbutting him and letting Ghidorah punch his chest multiple times before tail swiping him across the ring. Huffing from the attack and about to engage him, he heard another beat building up which was coming up from Clawdeen as she was going aid him in the fight.
"When we believe we are stronger, we can come out of the shadows! Hate only fuels the fire. We come up, rise high. You don't know what you don't know!"
She sang which encouraged Junior that he was fighting for his friends as well the rest of Monster High. The words allowed him to avoid Ghidorah's attacks as well letting him get close to land several punches at Ghidorah's heads. Dodging his attacks and avoiding the slashes, Junior smiled at how he had the same edge that his opponent had.
"You don't know what you don't know."
He said to Ghidorah as he was now smiling in the fight as he rolls over to the side and grabs his tail. Using his body strength, he spins Ghidorah around in a full circle before launching him at the walls. Shocked at the sudden turn about for the king, Ghidorah snarls at him and stood up with his wings extended in front of him to get Junior scared.
"I've got scars to prove it. They don't know what they're doing. This magic, they abuse it. And we're all gonna end up losing."
Toralei singing her song of the fear of witches which was slowly getting the attention of the others. Just as they fell for her words, Ghidorah decided to show them where he stood against witchcraft and others who supported it. Slowly flying in midair, his eyes started to light up with electricity slowly for dramatic effect.
"You should be afraid, look out for yourself. You should be afraid, look out for yourself!"
He roared as Ghidorah lets out several bolts of electricity from his body to scare Junior into backing down. The light coming off from the three headed dragon blinded everyone, though Junior didn't back down as he used his tail to continue the beat that Clawdeen made. Hearing his stomping from the ring in continuing the singing, the gang did so in the effort to help Junior win the fight.
"When we believe we are stronger, we can come out of the shadows! Hate only fuels the fire. We come up, rise high. You don't know what you don't know!"
Singing to him on being stronger together which allowed Junior to avoid the projectiles and rush towards Ghidorah. Continuing his attack, Ghidorah swoops down to tackle him into the ground. Only for Junior to knee kick him in the stomach and getting the advantage of keeping him down on the ground. He watched Ghidorah's wing attacks as he tried to scratch the lizard's face, only for Junior to hit him multiple times in each of Ghidorah's faces allowing him to have the edge possibly weaking him.
"You don't know what you don't know."
He told Ghidorah as he looked over to the ghouls smiling at the confidence and help he was receiving from them as he cracked his neck and knuckles on how much he was going through. Seeing how the dragon wasn't backing down, he noticed how his body start to generate electricity. He heard around the arena was everyone's Icoffin's acting up as it seemed he was absorbing their energy for a boost as he glared at Junior with a sadistic smile with each face staring at him.
"You should be afraid when you sleep at night. You should be afraid of the deadly cry, you should be afraid, yeah you know I'm right. Never safe, never safe, never safe here!"
The three heads singing as he soon delivers a powerful back hand sending Junior flying off in midair before collapsing on the ground. The attack left Junior shocked along noticing how his armor broke during the attack, with seeing the sight of his armor broken. He begins to defend himself from Ghidorah's savage attacks as the sudden powerup made the students in the ring nervous at Toralei could be right and needed someone that could protect them. This led to most of them to move to Toralei's side leaving Clawdeen and the others, it started to scare Draculaura which Clawdeen noticed as she tried her best to convince the others to stay with them.
"You should be afraid when you sleep at night! Wait, you don't need to hide! You should be afraid here at Monster High! You are safe at Monster High! You should be afraid, yeah your know I'm right! You don't have to be afraid! Never safe, never safe, never safe here!"
Both Toralei and Clawdeen sang as them singing along dealing with Ghidorah's attacks started to anger Junior. Feeling the amount of force being pushed on him and how he was unable to control himself, his scales started to glow blue before letting out a roar which silenced everyone in the arena as well destroying his own armor. Ghidorah hitting the ground and looking at the lizard now angered, who seemed to be ready to take Ghidorah down. Though as he was about to presume the fight, Junior started to feel a sudden burning in his chest as well noticed the ground slowly sizzling underneath him. Continuing to feel the burning as well the others noticing him, he had no choice but to surrender in the hope that he doesn't go nuclear and explode in front of everyone.
"I yield."
Junior said in sadness as he bends a knee to Ghidorah as him giving up allowed him to cool down as well having his burning feeling fade away. Ghidorah was shocked at the sight as well how it didn't feel right in him giving up, yet that was interrupted by cheering from Toralei's side who applauded at witchcraft being banned from Monster High. With the werecat gesturing to her three headed friend to join her in the celebration, Ghidorah remain silent as he would join her to celebrate with her.
"Whatever happen to you, I hope you get well."
Kevin said to the fallen king while getting growled at by the brothers as Ghidorah flew up with Toralei as they lead the monsters that agreed with banning witchcraft back upstairs. Bloodgood however watched from afar seeing the disappointment on their faces from Junior failing to help Draculaura, while the lizard boy himself felt much shame for what he did. Including how he couldn't explain himself to his friends since it would affect their outlook towards him and make things worse, as well not explaining what they might have just saw from him almost going nuclear.
