Deuce Pov:
"Talk about no rest for the fierce and frightful, Toralei has already started getting comments about her being a perfect candidate as Fright ball queen for how she would stop at nothing to protect Monster High from witchcraft. Much like Ghidorah who the school knows half of him protecting Junior from the rogue kaiju that broke in and tried to take Draculaura while beating him in the arena. It still bugs me how he had the chance to wipe the smirk off Ghidorah's face across all his three heads and then to give up right in mid fight. Though from what the nurse said about him burning up isn't surprising since he has somewhat of a sun living in his stomach that he got from his old man, surprised it's now messing with him. Especially since it's the same time Mira is acting up since she's been hoping to be more open for the semester, there's still time for that before Fright ball comes. Just hope things don't get more complicated with the witch attacks and who would be king and queen."
Morning-Monster High
Morning had arrived and everyone was talking in joy that there wouldn't be any signs of witch attacks or anything related to the subject popping up at Monster High. In addition to the topic was Junior who already had gossip about what happened to him thinking that the injuries he obtained from the attacks were due to the witches, as well Ghidorah being the one that saved him proved he could be a better leader than Junior. He could care less since he was texted last night from Frankie on how Draculaura declined to go with him to Fright Ball in the hopes of having witchcraft be allowed at Monster High. It made sense due to him giving up during the fight, but he had no choice since he could have hurt everyone if he continued battling Ghidorah. Walking back to the dorm room without knowing what reaction he'd receive from his friends; Junior took a moment where he looked at the doors, wondering if he could walk in and pretend things were normal.
"So this is what it feels like to lose, it sucks."
He told himself due to how he didn't care what happened if got caught in a fight and barely survived it, he knew he was able to handle it with no issues. This was the first time he backed down in front of people, especially people he had now come to know as friends. Just as Junior wanted to walk away to take time to think about what he could do; he noticed one of the lights flickering in a way that was trying to speak to him.
"As much as I would enjoy hearing possibly several thousand years of wisdom from the wall. I'd rather just wait here and hope that someone drags me away."
Responded to the lights which caused them to turn off caught Junior's attention thinking that she accepted his request. He felt a book hit the back of his head which came from a shelf that closed its doors quickly to avoid being noticed, the lizard could see it was Pandora trying to communicate with him as he looked at what the book was exactly.
"Learning to cope with your inner phantom, by Phantom of the Opera?"
He read the title confused by what that meant as Junior decided to take a moment to read the book. Going through several pages of the book, he read about how the Phantom struggled to survive in a world that saw him differently due to the deformity of his face. Where to the point he hid within an opera house learning all manners of playwrights and theater work to the benefit of having the spotlight on him. Only to be shunned by humans and turn him into a monster that plagued anyone who came to his opera house, yet it changed when he learned about the monster community. They welcomed him with open arms despite the things he had done to humans, as they felt the same treatment when they tried to live in the human world.
"So it's better to be around others with all their faults than lie in the shadows. That's the lesson? Well, I hope one of the people who helped the phantom was a scientist who could help stop an explosion from happening."
Responding to the book that Pandora gave him as he understood the meaning. He was the same monster that hid in the darkness and developed talents that would let him survive in a world that despised him, only to finally find others who saw him as more than just appearances. Placing the book back on the shelf and turning back to the door, he saw it open showing Clawdeen who was in pajamas along her hair being in a messed up manner.
"If you're going ask, no. Pandora didn't tell me that you were coming, I only heard you arguing with her when I heard the book hit your head."
She said with a smile seeing how it be rude to come in right where he was at the front door. Junior sighed at the fact he forgot her hearing was better than anyone's at school, leaving them to take a seat by some chairs so they could talk to one another about what's been happening.
"As much as I'm glad you want to keep helping Draculaura, you have to tell me or the rest of us what's going on with you. Making choices that none of us are part of or have a say in, which is right now not the time since we have two monsters that want to make this semester difficult to attend."
Clawdeen spoke to him in a concerned but stern tone due to how things were going and not wanting anything else affecting their friendship. It was surprising to hear how the half werewolf confronted him since it was the same one that brought him back from his mountain to help the both of them find something they didn't need to be accepted at Monster High. It was difficult to explain what was wrong with him without making her afraid, but he could tell that Clawdeen showed no fear since she didn't back away when the witches came after Draculaura.
"I'm just dealing with family troubles. Especially with Ghoulia telling me about my father not telling me things about what I need to do to be king. And I haven't been thinking straight with what's been happening along the tension that's been growing, it's just a lot to handle."
He tried his best to think of an excuse that was close to the truth of him getting nuclear with each day passing if he couldn't find anyone to share his power. While Clawdeen could tell he was hiding more than Junior was letting on, she decided to accept what he said since it seemed it take a while before he told her the full truth of his problem.
"When we finish with Draculaura's situation and get things back to normal, we can go to the coffee bean and figure out how to help with what's bothering you."
Offering to help out with whatever Junior needs which left the lizard to get nervous as he tried to hide it. Clawdeen smiled seeing how she got to him to lighten up as the two headed into the room to check up on their roommates. The two noticed Frankie waking up with the same messy hair and smiling at seeing their friends back together, though their attention was quickly changed to looking at the table and seeing an envelope with a black shaped heart on it.
"Weird for Draculaura to leave a letter on the table, I thought Icoffin's were the reason for leaving messages."
Frankie asked them about how their vampiric friend didn't text them as Clawdeen decided to look at the envelope. While that went on, Junior looked at Draculaura's coffin getting a sense there was something wrong which left him to check it out. Frankie walked to Clawdeen's side where they could read the letter with her.
"Dear friends. I'm sorry for not returning by curfew, but I have recently been told that I could do more for witchcraft than struggle to have it be welcomed at Monster High. I thank you for helping me with this challenge, though I have to handle this by myself. Luckily, I have Mira to accompany me in making peace with a coven that desires to stop the fighting between monsters and witches. Though I have not left without leaving something to help convince everyone I didn't leave, sincerely. Draculaura, hope to see you again."
Reading the full letter made Clawdeen and Frankie shocked at their friend leaving along with looking at the coffin not knowing what she meant by 'not leaving'. Junior opened the coffin door to see a surprising sight which was Draculaura, only not as she looked like a doppelganger. Smiling at the three confused roommates, the fake vampire walks out to greet them.
"Morning friends! I'm feeling much better after my sleep last night, and ready for any schoolwork we need to do. Also, Junior, I appreciate you for asking me out to fight ball. And really would like to go with you, along with Clawdeen."
She said excitedly unlike that of their Draculaura which caught Junior and Clawdeen off guard with what she said. Frankie took the moment to look at the letter and see what exactly they were looking at, taking a moment to check the back of the letter they saw another set of sentences left for them to read.
"It's called an 'Automaton spell'. Weird to call it that since automaton is a word that translates to a mechanical imitation of a person since this looks just like Draculaura but more open."
Frankie explained the meaning of the word and not helping themself but to hug her which the automaton Draculaura hugged in return. While they tried to gasp on there being another Draculaura in the room, they heard a knock on the door which startled the two as Clawdeen and Junior rushed the automaton version back into the coffin and tried to act casual. The three looked at the door seeing it was Headmistress Bloodgood who wanted to check up on them.
"Apologies for the sudden arrival, but the nurse informed me about Junior coming back here and was curious about how you were all doing."
She explained the reason for the arrival since Bloodgood was concerned about how things had turned out and for Draculaura since she knew that witchcraft was the reason for Monster High being here in the first place, though couldn't allow it to harm the faculty or her students. Seeing the trio standing by the vampire's coffin, Clawdeen was the one who had to make a response for their principal.
"We're doing great! I mean sure things got rough but, it's how it is. Draculaura is still asleep from what happened and decided to focus on the Night ball dance, needs a few more hours."
Clawdeen responded with a nervous smile as she said it without thinking straight which made Junior smirk at how fast she said it. Waiting for Bloodgood to respond, the headmistress nodded seeing that it was too early to check up on the students since they had been through a lot.
"That's good to hear. Please give her my regards for banning witchcraft for the time being, but it's for the safety of everyone."
Apologizing for what she had to do since Ghidorah had won the fight as well as having witchcraft not allowed on school grounds. Junior nodded to her about what happened and had to accept the defeat, with her leaving the room. She opened the coffin to see the automaton Draculaura still having a smile on her face not minding being shoved into the coffin.
"Bloodgood is caring for coming here, it was still sad I couldn't say hello."
She said which made the two felt upset about lying to the headmistress as they heard something else happening behind them. It was Draculaura's portrait of her father Dracula, who was going to communicate with her. Closing the lid back on the automaton Draculaura, the three tried to fake smile again at the vampiric dad since it was impossible to explain what had happened to his daughter.
"Hello ghouls, and Junior. I wanted to check up on Draculaura if she was doing alright, from how things are going I thought it be right to check up on her."
He explained to them how things had been going, he wanted to see if he didn't have to come in and bring her back home. While Junior and Clawdeen shrugged to him how she was doing okay, the coffin began to move with the automaton wanting to come out. It left Frankie to do a hard fake cough to draw attention away from the coffin so that Dracula couldn't see it.
"Frankie. Is everything okay child?"
The vampire noticed how they were acting as Frankie decided to take the attention since Clawdeen and Junior did their part when the headmistress came in. Feeling nervous about talking to Dracula, they decided to follow the same tactics that the others used before he came in.
"Just a bit sick. Draculaura has been looking after me when it started, she stayed up for the entire night to make sure I didn't sneeze my bolts off."
Frankie informed him as they did a fake sneeze to continue the ploy as well as making the left side of their bolt fall off and land on the floor. Junior picked it up quickly to hand it back to them to help with the act, seeing how 'sick' they appeared. Dracula decided he would check back on another time when Draculaura was awake and when everyone was freshened up since he noticed they were still in bed clothing. The three sighed in relief at how they managed to get past the headmistress and lord of vampires that easily since it was their first time dealing with two important adults.
"Remind me to buy the next smoothie for you Frankie."
Junior insisted on paying them for saving their backsides from getting noticed which left Frankie to smile at his gesture. The moment was interrupted again with the door open in a fast manner which startled the group, looking over at the surprise visitor. It was Deuce who had someone with him and hiding underneath a blanket.
"Hey, guys. I need Draculaura's help, can she explain why my sister is acting 'so'. This?!"
He asked before revealing to them another automaton that was Mira, who looked around curious and walked around touching stuff like a moth. The gorgon waited for them to explain what was going on before noticing how they didn't look surprised by the fake moth girl as they moved to the side leaving the coffin to open up. There, the automaton Draculaura waved at Deuce as well as the fake Mira as she walked over to greet her automaton relative.
"Might want to take a seat, it's going be a while to explain."
Junior said annoyed at what his sister might be involved in with Draculaura since it would make his snakes fall off his head for what they'd have to tell him. All in the while Clawdeen to try and get some help since it wouldn't take long to figure out what had happened to Draculaura and Mira.
Later-Down the Hallways
Having informed Cleo, Caesar, Heath, and Rhodey about the situation of the automaton counterparts. The group was walking down the hallway due to Junior who took the letter to see if there was a clue on where Draculaura and Mira went off to, the only thing he found from the letter was Ellis's scent on it. Leading them to his room and not in the mood to be polite, he'd decided to have a visit with him and figure out what he had to do with their friends.
"Are you sure this is a good thing to do? I mean exciting as it is to start trouble, I don't think taking your anger out on a vampire is the way."
Rhodey questioned Junior's idea of having a 'conversation' since he thought it might be a way to take out his defeat from Ghidorah by knocking questions about where Draculaura and Ellis were right now. He didn't respond to the winged kaiju as they had arrived at the door where Ellis was staying in which at that moment was him feeling getting hot, the group saw how his scales glowed which left Junior to stop before using his power again.
"Maybe it be best I do the talking; I've been getting good with forming conversations about anything. I'll ask him how things are and if there's anything he knows about our friends. Apply a bit of oomph to it."
Frankie offered their assistance to Junior as the lizard accepted it due to how the ghoul's personality could be somewhat helpful since they did have a kinder approach than he does. Knocking on the door multiple times, they accidentally bust a hole through the door that made the group move away do to how surprised they were by Frankie's strength.
"Breaking and entering is the last thing I'd be involved with. Though the room is to be questioned right now."
Cleo said as she wasn't the one to dirty her hands in anything like this or sneak around getting into trouble. Yet what captivated the mummy was how Ellis room looked bigger than most of the dorm rooms, it was like her parents treasure room. Except instead of gold and jewelry it was replaced with numerous books, a flat screen television set and a pool table.
"Whoever this Ellis is, were defiantly hosting parties here. How could Bloodgood not know that she gave away a pad like this to a freshmen? There's even a vending machine in here!"
Heath called out at the ridiculousness of the room Ellis was given and how he could bring these items into the room. Him and Rhodey went directly to it while the others investigated the room while Caesar went to the door to keep an eye out for anyone passing by. Clawdeen looked at the maps on the wall which showed multiple schools he had been placed, though with each one had an 'X' mark across them.
"Belfry Prep. Smogsnorts Vampyr Academy, Academia De Mostro? Why would a vampire attend all these schools and decide to leave?"
She questioned Ellis motive behind it as they were all incredible schools that valued its students. Though he left each one during the start of the semester, the group continued the search until Frankie opened a closet noticing a bag that was left unopened. Taking it out for the others to see, they placed it on a table where Frankie begins to see if there was anything that could be a clue for them.
"Because a vampire wouldn't have an address that isn't from the monster world."
Frankie answered Clawdeen's question as they showed her a postal code that came from the human world which surprised them. Checking out the code on her Icoffin, Clawdeen was able to track down the address to Seattle along with there being a card with a tree symbol on it. Taking the card and not telling the others, she walked out of the room leaving the others to slowly realize what Clawdeen had in mind. Following her outside of the school and trying to catch up with her, Caesar had the chance to get close to the wolf girl.
"While it's a good cause to find Draculaura and Mira, your going somewhere that's unknown territory and have people who aren't fond of monsters."
He warned her about the dangers of where Clawdeen will be going since most of them hadn't traveled amongst human cities due to how most of them were split between liking monsters and hating them. Arriving to the where the portals were located at, she stopped in front of her worried friends to explain what she had that non them did.
"Well that's because I'm not going to visit them as a werewolf."
Responded with a confident tone as she took only a few seconds before reverting back to her human self which most of them had forgotten since Clawdeen didn't use it. Though with the circumstances of the situation, it seemed right for her to use it if she could go to wherever the others might be right now.
"Then I want to come to."
Deuce acknowledged her since he was just as concerned for Mira as much as Clawdeen for Draculaura. Noticing how the gorgon wanted to join the others as well, she stopped her friends since she couldn't draw to much attention to her when she'd arrive in Seattle.
"As much as I'd appreciate the help, it would cause attention. I'll blend in easy and will be able to find them without any trouble. I can handle it."
Insisting that she go by herself so it be easier to travel to places without bringing one else into it. Seeing how Clawdeen made up her mind, she gave her a special scarab that would allow her to detect witchcraft or anyone that might have the essence of a witch on them. Thanking her for the gift and saying her goodbyes to the group, Clawdeen looked forward to the portal where it opens up in a bright purple light which noticed the ghoul's presence. Taking a deep breath to prepare herself for the journey, she walked forward into the gateway where she disappeared in a matter of seconds leaving her friends to only hope for the best in Clawdeen's endeavor in finding the others.
"Alright. Let's go."
Junior interrupted the moment as he was going to join the wolf girl on traveling to the human world which took the others by surprise since he agreed on staying here with the others. Caesar, who growled at him couldn't accept it that he lied to Clawdeen and would possibly put her as well others in danger due to his condition.
"You're really going to ignore her suggestion of staying here and head to this 'Seattle' to make things complicated?"
He questioned Junior's decision since he knew that if he got angry or started any fights in the human world he could go nuclear and take out the surroundings around him. Hearing the tone in his voice and how he could cause problems in the human city, Junior decided to do something he'd usually wouldn't do in moments where he would go by himself.
"Then I'll bring Frankie since their an expert in socializing. And Deuce since his sister is there."
Suggesting he invite the reanimated ghoul and gorgon along to keep an eye on him just in case if he ran into trouble. Excited by the offer, Frankie joined Junior as the two were the first to enter the portal and travel into the human world to help the search to find Draculaura and Mira. Just as Deuce was about to head off, Cleo tapped on his shoulder seeing how she was concern for his safety.
"Be safe over there. I mean I know your good at handling yourself and confident, but just don't get distracted by the sights and come right back."
The mummy told him and trying her best to keep composure which left Deuce to node at her since it had been a while seeing this side of her. Heading into the portal to regroup with the others, Cleo breathed in deep as well hoped that they be safe. Though she looked over her guardian and nudged him into improvising to make sure they had backup, it left Caesar to grab Heath and Rhodey by the collar and raise them up in the air.
"Wait! I was going go right when they left, honest!"
Rhodey pleaded as the Caesar didn't respond as he hurled the two into the portal so that the fiery duo could help out if they needed the fire power. With that handled and deciding to head back to school where they could keep an eye on the automaton clones, they didn't notice amongst the tree's was Ghidorah observing them in silence. The right head planned on attacking them for what they had witnessed, the Icoffin in their hand buzzed and made them answer it.
"Report what has happened my sons."
Spoke a strong and intimidating tone as the three heads recognized the voice as their father who wanted to know what was happening. The middle head took the approach in forming him about the situation going on at the school.
"Tension has grown amongst the monsters and kaiju, we've already shown them how we could best Godzilla Junior. Along with driving out the divine moth and vampire princess."
He explained in a confident tone of what was happening and trouble that they had created with Toralei during their return to Monster High. There was a sudden silence from the other side of the phone as the three headed son was confused at how his father didn't compliment them on their assignment.
"And the fight in the arena."
The father asked them about what happened during the fight with him and Junior when they fought for the chance to allow witchcraft to be accepted at the school. Kevin, decided to tell him since his brothers seemed conflicted about admitting the win they got from the fight.
"We won, but it was because he forfeited during the match right when he could have ended us. But we won and everything will be going according to plan."
Informing him about what happened as there was another moment of silence before hanging up on Ghidorah. It had seemed to displease the older dragon which left the boys to look down in disappointment from how he hung up on them, yet there were more important things to do than impress him. It was to make sure to prepare for the upcoming events as well the downfall of the king and the rest of the realm that changed their ways to be peaceful.
