Tony's point of view
President Ellis's incompetence knew no bounds. Someone within his team had been embezzling funds and there was a massive FBI investigation. Instead of doing the right thing and resigning and apologising, he just clung on to his position and and phumfered his way through every interview. Eventually, he was indicted. He phumfered his way through that. The investigation revealed that President Ellis had known about what was going on which was illegal, so he went to jail and Vince's friend had to go back to Washington to be president again. Paul Heyman had usurped Vince's friend and installed Matthew Ellis. It also meant that Jay (as War Machine) was having to go to and from DC every week because he had to continue his training with the Avengers.
"Hmmm… IF I run for President and that is a mighty big IF… We will ALL stay in DC… because it's easier on security. The poor head of the Secret Service is run ragged going to DC every week."
Author Note: We're under a storm AND tornado watch so if I'm not around this week is because the storm blew out my power. I'm classed as vulnerable, I'm on the "priority services register" and therefore should be a priority, but I have no one to call for me until Tuesday, so... who knows.
