Kakashi was anxiously waiting for her to emerge from the confines of her workplace. But an hour passed and she's nowhere in sight. Two hours, three. At four-hour mark, he left, dejected.

Days turned into weeks, and the thoughtful gestures from Kakashi continued, but the usual spark and banter between him and Sakura seemed to have dulled. The air was heavy with unspoken words, and a lingering tension hung between them.

Sakura couldn't shake off the weight of her own hesitations and fears. The walls around her heart, constructed over years of self-preservation, seemed to grow stronger with each passing day. Despite Ino's encouragement and the unmistakable romantic undertones in Kakashi's gestures, Sakura found it challenging to confront the possibility of a deeper connection.

Ino, ever the supportive friend, observed Sakura's internal struggle. One day, as they sat in Sakura's office, Ino decided to broach the topic once again.

"Sakura, how long are you planning to keep Kakashi waiting?" Ino asked, a mix of concern and determination in her eyes.

Sakura sighed, her gaze focused on the paperwork scattered on her desk. "Ino, it's not that simple. I appreciate Kakashi's gestures, but there's so much at stake. I can't just let my guard down and risk getting hurt."

Ino nodded understandingly. "I get it, Sakura. Opening up to someone, especially romantically, is a vulnerable position. But you can't let fear dictate your choices. Kakashi seems sincere in his feelings for you. What if you're missing out on something beautiful?"

Sakura ran a hand through her hair, frustration evident in her expression. "It's not just about me, Ino. It's about him too. What if he deserves someone who can give him the love and attention he deserves? I'm not sure I can be that person."

Ino tilted her head, a thoughtful expression on her face. "Sakura, sometimes we don't know what we're capable of until we take that leap of faith. Kakashi clearly sees something in you that he values. Maybe it's time to see it in yourself too."

Sakura looked at Ino, gratitude in her eyes. "I appreciate your support, Ino. It's just... complicated. I need time to figure things out."

Ino placed a reassuring hand on Sakura's shoulder. "Take all the time you need, Sakura. But remember, life is short, and sometimes, the best things come when we least expect them."

Then, one day, the notes and gifts, stopped coming.
