The next morning…
"Ashley, wake up!" Amy said stubbornly after walking into Ashley's room.
"Ok I'm up…What is it?" Ashley said tiredly after wiping her eyes.
"Did you tell them?" Amy said, intrigued as she sat on Ashley's bed.
"Did I tell who, what exactly?" Ashley said, confused.
"Mom and Dad that I'm…you know." Amy said quietly.
"No of course not…I did tell Dad that there's something you should tell them." Ashley said honestly.
"Oh great…That's why he was acting suspicious last night." Amy said worriedly as she pushed her hair back.
"What did you tell him?" Ashley asked seriously.
"I…I told both of them I met a guy." Amy said nervously.
"Well, duh…That's sort of how sex works…It takes two to tango." Ashley said sarcastically as she smiled.
"Ashley, be quiet! They could hear you!" Amy said angrily as she whispered.
"Oh please, that's the least of your worries…You can't hide this forever because eventually you'll start showing." Ashley said truthfully.
"What do you mean she'll start showing?" George said, concerned as he walked into the room.
"Oh no…I'm so sorry, Amy." Ashley said awkwardly as she looked at the floor.
"No it's ok…I'm pregnant, Dad." Amy said sadly as she looked at George.
"You're what?! No you can't be!" George said in complete shock.
"Yes…It happened at band camp…I didn't mean for it to happen." Amy said seriously as tears formed in her eyes.
"Of course you didn't, pumpkin…Ashley go get your mother." George said kindly and then sternly as he gave Amy a hug.
After a few minutes Anne and Ashley came in.
"What's going on?" Anne asked, curiously.
"Amy got pregnant at band camp." George said honestly.
"No! Are you serious?!" Anne said, surprised.
"I'm so sorry, Mom…I didn't mean for this to happen." Amy said sincerely through her tears.
"Oh, I know honey…Everything's going to be alright." Anne said calmly as she hugged Amy.
"Who's the guy? Was it this…Jack?" George asked, a little irritated as he crossed his arms.
"No, his name's Ricky…I haven't told him yet." Amy said seriously as she wiped her face with her sleeve.
"Well…I think you should tell him…It would be the right thing to do." Anne said earnestly.
"Does he really need to know? They're just in high school." Ashley asked inquisitively.
"Your mother's right…This Ricky guy needs to know…Does he go to your school?" George said intensely.
"Yeah I saw him there…I'm so scared." Amy said, worried.
"It's ok, Amy…We'll get through this together…Do you have Ricky's number?" Anne said nicely.
"Yeah…Why?" Amy asked confusedly as she grabbed her phone.
"I think we should have him come over so we can discuss this…Right, George?" Anne said genuinely as she looked at Amy and then George.
"Oh right…Maybe his parents should come too." George said, a little aggravated.
"Um…ok…It's ringing." Amy said awkwardly as she called Ricky.
"Put it on speaker." George said sternly as he started to pace back and forth. Amy put her phone on speaker as Ricky answered.
"Hello? Who is this?" Ricky said sleepily.
"Hi…Ricky…This is Amy from band camp…How are you?" Amy said anxiously.
"I'm tired but good…What's up, Amy?" Ricky said nicely after wiping his eyes.
"Um…I need you and your parents to come over today." Amy said seriously.
"Uh…Why? Did I do something wrong?" Ricky asked, confused.
"You sure did, you little punk!" George whispered angrily.
"Just come over at noon with your parents and I'll explain everything…I can text you my address." Amy said confidently.
"Ok…Well I guess we'll see you then." Ricky said nicely.
"Alright, bye Ricky." Amy said sadly and she hung up.
Meanwhile at church...
"That was a very nice sermon, Reverend." Kathleen said kindly.
"Yes it was great! We'll see you next week." Marshall said happily.
"Oh thank you! Before you go can I talk to Grace for a minute?" Reverend Stone said warmly.
"Uh, sure...What is it?" Grace asked confused.
"Did you see Jack last night?" Reverend Stone asked concerned.
"Yes but only for a few minutes at the Dairy Shack...Why?" Grace said seriously.
"He slept in today so I wasn't sure if he spent time with you...He got home pretty late last night." Reverend Stone said honestly.
"Oh...No he was with some girl named Amy at the Dairy Shack...I was with my cheerleader friends last night." Grace said a little annoyed.
"Ah I see...Thank you, Grace...See you later!" Reverend Stone said nicely as he waved at the Bowmans.
"Yeah, see you next week." Grace said genuinely as she walked back over to her family.
"So Jack's with another girl, huh?" Marshall asked intrigued as they walked to the parking lot.
"Yeah but I don't care...We're broken up, remember?" Grace said a little aggravated as she rolled her eyes.
"Yes I know...Thank the Lord for that! Ha ha!" Marshall said proudly as he unlocked the car.
"Ha ha! Come on hun, you don't have to rub it in." Kathleen said as she laughed while they got into the car.
"Ha ha ha! It is...funny!" Tom smiled as he put on his seat belt.
"Oh come on guys! It's not that funny." Grace said angrily.
"We're just teasing you, Gracie...I'm really proud of you...How about we get some lunch?" Marshall said kindly as he started the car.
"Heh, ok...Whatever you say, Dad." Grace said as she smiled and looked out the window.
