"Ah. Snack time. One of my favorite times. Kit always has the best snacks." Josh says as he is walking with Alexis to the trading tree.
"Yep. Even more glad she carries meat snacks for me since she knows about my eh... You know what." Alexis says nervously.
"Don't worry. I'm sure the creek kids will all accept you if you decide to tell them all. But the ones that do have no problem with you. Well most of the ones that know don't have a problem. Pretty well everyone here really likes you. With or without knowing that you're a wolf shifter." Josh says unworriedly.
"Yeah but I'm in no hurry for everyone to know. I'm happy just having a handful of people I trust to know my secret apart from the ones I don't trust that found out through other means. But we'll find out I guess." Alexis says as she smiles nervously.
"Time will tell." Josh says.
"Yeah. It will." Alexis says.
"There's Craig, J.P. and Kelsey. If you want to go hang out with them you can. You don't have to stay and help me with keeping secrets the rest of the day. Or you can go see how your brother is doing at the Overpass." Josh says as he and Alexis see Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. at the trading stand with Kit.
"Thanks Josh. I'll go get us some snacks and then head out with Craig and the others." Alexis says as she looks down.
"Sounds good." Josh says.
"So the usual snack for you?" Alexis asks.
"Please yes if you don't mind. I'll wait here while you get the snacks." Josh says as Alexis begins to walk toward the others.
"No snacks!?" Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. shout causing Alexis to stop.
"What? Kit doesn't have snacks?" Alexis asks as everyone begins to talk among each other.
"Did I hear that correctly? She said she's out of snacks?" Josh asks as he comes over.
"Sounds like it." Alexis says as she watches Craig and the others talk to Kit.
"Kids of the creek do not worry. The trading tree is the heart of our creek civilization and the only place we can all get super sugary snacks that our parents won't let us have. We're not gonna let it shut down. I'm gonna get our snacks back and that's a promise." Craig says as everyone cheers while Alexis gives a worried look.
*Timeskip*
"I'm getting worried Omar. Kids are getting desperate and it's not looking too good." Alexis says as she is standing on the overpass with Omar while holding a branch for a weapon.
"I can see why. Sounds pretty bad. You said that girl Kit never let her grades fall that far?" Omar asks as Alexis nods.
"Yeah. Kit is very, very smart. She's a straight A student. Her grades being so good is basically how she gets all her snacks apart from trading." Alexis says.
"That's odd. Very odd." Omar says as Alexis nods.
"I know. This is so unlike Kit. Do you think someone sabotaged her?" Alexis asks.
"I don't think someone did. I know they did. Look. We got unpleasant company." Omar says as he looks over by the water before Alexis looks and gives a fearful look.
*Timeskip*
"Turn your ships around and leave. You and your guard aren't welcome on this side of the creek." Omar says as he and Alexis are keeping the King's ships from going any further into the creek.
"Just leave now and there won't be any problems." Alexis says sternly as Craig and the creek council arrive.
"Hello there! I am King Xavier! You've heard of me probably. Me and my friends run things on the other side of the creek. But when I got word that your side had been stricken with famine we decided to pull our resources to come help our creekly neighbors. I'd love to share even more but it seems your doorman the Green Poncho and his adopted sister Alexis won't allow us to enter." Xavier says as Alexis and Omar stay put.
"He's bringing us snacks? Out of the way Green Groucho! You as well wolf girl!" Eliza shouts.
"Wait! This is the King that me and the Green Poncho warned you all about! You can't let him into our side. He's just trying to give us snacks so we'll trust him. He's evil!" Craig shouts as he points at Xavier.
"Craig is right. Don't trust him. Any of them." Alexis says.
"So am I. Who cares!? We're hungry! Besides Craig aren't you always talking about being nice and second chances or something?" Eliza asks.
"I mean yeah but not for the King. Trust me on this." Craig says.
"I don't see you offering a stump load of candy. So why should we?" Eliza asks as the group argues.
"Attention! Listen cadet all this back and forth ain't getting us anywhere. The council should take a vote to decide whether or not to let this King into our side." Paintball Mike says.
"Fine. We'll vote on it. But first I just wanna say something. The King can't be trusted. We tried to warn you all before. If we let him in we aren't just accepting free candy. It comes with a price. Look our side may have its issues but we're free to play how we want and do what we want. If we want to keep things that way we can not let the King enter our side." Craig says.
"And now for the vote. Thumbs up to let the King in. Thumbs down to keep him out." Kelsey says as everyone but Alexis, Omar and Craig vote.
"Ha! Sorry King but the vote is tied! Guess that means you won't be coming in after all. So take your candy and get-" Craig then gets cut off by a voice revealing to be Bobby.
"Um Craig." Bobby says as he reveals to vote on letting the king in.
"Bobby? Why?" Craig asks in shock.
"You tried but you couldn't help Kit. Now she's gone to summer school. Sorry but you can't always save the day." Bobby says.
"Well it wasn't exactly the warm welcome we we're expecting but thank you all! You won't regret this! You'll see that we're all gonna be very good friends. Now if you don't mind step aside." Xavier says.
"You heard the council. Majority rules. Take a hike both of you!" Eliza shouts as she looks at Alexis and Omar.
"I guess one vote really can make a difference." Omar says as he leaves.
"Looks that way. I can't believe this. After everything. It was for nothing." Alexis says as she leaves following after Omar.
