Author's Note: Here we are at the last story in my Teen Titans series. As you can no doubt guess, this one will center around Blue Beetle in the world of Transformers Animated.

To start off this fanfic, we're beginning with the first ever Blue Beetle, Dan Garrett, and how the end of his story became the beginning of a new one. My knowledge of Dan Garrett is limited, so I had to improvise with this fanfiction.

I will be working on the first three chapters of this over the next couple of weeks. For now, enjoy what I call the prologue of this transforming (pun intented) journey.

Enjoy the chapter. Any and all comments are welcome.

Deep in an unknown part of an African jungle, a tall, rugged man traveled through the very rough, very thick foliage. With his machete in hand, he hacked his way through the bushes and vines that were in his way. He wore typical safari gear along with a nametag that read "Dan Garret". He kept chopping his way forward until he stopped at a large, ancient temple.

After many days of traveling, Dan finally made progress with his expedition. He put his machete away and walked his way up the steps until he reached an open door. As soon as he walked in, he saw how dark it was inside and took out his flashlight. He switched it on and shined it forward on his way. He took each step at a time deeper into the dark hallway with nothing but the echoes of his footsteps and the strange sent of exotic fauna filling the path.

Finally, Dan reached the end of the tunnel which lead to an enormous room. There was nothing there in the room besides a great, monumental object about as big as the Washington Memorial. It was made of old, ancient metal that was covered with dust and overgrowth. It had two prongs with a large opening in between.

"Kinda looks like a giant tuning fork." Dan commented with a chuckle. He then leaned toward the metal base of what he found and shook off some of the dust and plants to get a better examination. "Hmm. This thing clearly isn't manmade. Perhaps the locals from ancient times found this thing and mistook it as some kind of divine monument they worshipped. But what is it really?"

"I can find out. Just let me interface with it."

Dan wasn't surprised to the voice that echoed in his head. He just reached the back of his collar and opened it up. As he did, two blue metal parts reached out from his back like spider legs. They went over his shoulder and pressed onto the monument. Certain lines on the legs began to glow and hum.

"Hmm. How interesting."

"What is it?" Dan asked the voice in his head.

"It would appear that the strange machine is some kind of transport mechanism. I can sense it connects to similar machines in different areas."

"You mean there are other machines like this out there?" Dan asked. "Where exactly?"

"Be patient. Let me just… Uh, oh."

"Uh, oh?" Dan asked with a growing worry. "What do you mean 'uh, oh'?"

"It seems that this machine is more sensitive than I thought. Must have been the age. But it seems we accidentally activated it."

"Activated it?!" Dan asked loudly.

All of a sudden, the machine lit up and a blue sphere suddenly formed between the two prongs. Feeling the strong pull come from the blue light, Dan began to lose his footing.

"WHERE'S IT TAKING US?!"

"UNKNOWN! ARMORING UP FOR PREPARATION!"

All of a sudden, Dan's clothed had changed. Instead of his safari-exploring apparel, it was completely covered by a blue suit with red gloves and boots. A red fin also appeared at the top of his head. Finally, his face was covered by a blue mask.

Dan braced himself as he was pulled right into the sphere unsure of where he was going to go.

"Many millions of years ago, war raged between the forces of the heroic Autobots and the brutal Decepticons for control of the planet Cybertron. The Autobots battled valiantly in the name of honor, their courageous exploits bringing hope and glory to a beleaguered war-torn planet, and inspiring countless generations of robots yet to come online."

"What a load of scrap metal!"

Optimus Prime tore from the documentary film he was watching and turned to his chief medic and fellow Autobot, Ratchet. He was much older than Optimus, old enough that he had experience on the field during the Autobots' war with the Decepticons. Now, he was stuck with the space bridge technician team alongside Optimus. Aside from his white-and-red body, he also had a broken horn displayed on his forehead.

"Why do you waste your time with those old history vids?" Ratchet asked.

"All the great Autobot leaders learn from the past." Optimus explained.

"Look around, Prime." Ratchet said. He pointed outside where their ship, Teletran-1. Outside, the ship was surrounded by a bunch of asteroids that practically concealed the ship from most of the surrounding space. "The Great War has ended centuries ago."

"But you were there, Ratchet." Optimus reminded. "You saw some action. What were the Decepticons really like?"

"Trust me, kid. You're better off not knowing." Ratchet answered. "Besides, looks like the young bots could use a hand."

Optimus looked outside and he saw one of his other Autobots, Bulkhead, dangling off a steep slope. He was the biggest in the Autobot crew and the clumsiest, but he makes it up with his ball-and-rope gadget built into his arm, which he was hanging with.

"Bumblebee, my wrecking ball's stuck again!"

Although Optimus wanted to continue watching his documentaries, he knew he had a job to do and a crew to look out for, so he got out of his chair and left the ship with Ratchet.

"Do you ever get the feeling you were programmed for than just repairing space bridges?" Optimus asked.

"I got a diagnostics program that can delete that feeling like a bad line of code." Ratchet answered.

While Optimus and Ratchet left the ship in their vehicle forms, Bulkhead kept struggling from the cliff while his best friend, Bumblebee, climbed to the top to try and help him. Bumblebee was known as the smallest and fastest Autobot on the team. His bright-yellow appearance matched the electric stingers that he has built into him.

"I don't like heights, Bumblebee." Bulkhead said.

"Cool your circuits, Bulkhead." Bumblebee said. "I'm working as fast as I can. And you know there's no bot faster."

After reaching the top of the cliff where the space bridge was set up, he exchanged his hand for his stinger and started blasting the rocks that Bulkhead was hanging from. After a couple of blasts, he retracted his blasters and continuously stomped on the rocks loosening them up.

"I think I'm gonna blow a gasket!" Bulkhead said preparing to throw up.

"Try to hold it in a little longer." Bumblebee advised. He prepared to stomp one last time, but right before he could, the entire rock he stood on began to shake and fall to pieces.

Once the rock fell apart, Bumblebee and Bulkhead fell from their height and landed right at the base of the space bridge.

Space bridges were machines that the Autobots used to create teleportation points from one part of the galaxy to another. It's basically a portal generator. And three guesses who's job was to repair them when they get busted.

Once Optimus and Ratchet finally caught up with the fallen Autobots, they changed back into their robot modes.

"All right. What seems to be the problem?" Optimus asked.

"I think the technical term is 'bunch of big, hulking rocks jamming space bridge'." Bumblebee replied as he and Bulkhead returned to their feet (or stabilizing servos as they call them).

"You know what I can't figure out?" Bulkhead asked. "Why would anyone want to transport to this All-Spark forsaken sector?"

"That's not the point, Bulkhead." Optimus said walking up to a rock. "We have a job to do here. And no problem is insurmountable with the right tool and a little teamwork."

Optimus reached to his back and pulled out an axe with a blade that glowed as soon as he held it. He raised it up and swung it down. He struck the rock many times until it shattered to pieces.

"Everyone, lend a servo. Bulkhead…"

Bulkhead used his fists of steel (or whatever metal he uses) to strike at the asteroids and shatter them with a single punch each.

"And Bumblebee…"

If any small rock floated his way, Bumblebee used his stingers to zap at them until they were vaporized.

"Come on, Ratchet."

As Optimus ordered, Ratchet pulled out his magnets from his wrists and used them to magnetically lift the rocks around him and move them away.

"You too, Prowl. …Hey, where is Prowl?"

As if on cue, the last Autobot on the team threw a mechanical star at the rocks and shattered them. The star bounced off on impact and returned to him. He caught it with ease and stepped out of the shadows.

Prowl had a black appearance with golden accents and a visor over his eyes. He was a thin Autobot, but very stealthy.

"Just have to know the weak spot." Prowl said.

"Yeah." Optimus replied slightly annoyed by the sudden star attack. "Next time, you might want to give us a little more warning."

"That would just mess up my timing." Prowl said.

"Young bots." Ratchet sighed. "Can't live with 'em. Can't melt 'em down for spare parts."

Bulkhead leaned in close to Bumblebee. "Why's he so grumpy all the time?"

"You'd be grumpy too if you had one servo in the scrapheap." Bumblebee joked, which earned him a smack to the back of his head by the medic.

"I may have one servo in the scrapheap, but I can still hear!" Ratchet snapped.

"Okay," Optimus said standing on top of a rock for everyone to see him, "I know we're stuck in the middle of nowhere on a thankless assignment, but remember, we're all cogs in a great, big Autobot machine."

"Not this speech again." Prowl said covering his face with his hand out of annoyance.

"A machine that's stronger as a whole than any one component part. Together, we can move mountains."

All of a sudden, everything started to shake and the space bridge began to activate. A glowing, bright light shined at its center and exploded into a blue wormhole. Everyone was pushed back far.

"Bad choice of words, big bot!" Bumblebee shouted flying backward.

Optimus adapted quickly and fired a grappling hook to travel along the asteroids and rescue his friends. After retrieving them all, he launched his grappling hook again, this time, at the control panel of the space bridge. Once it hit the button, the space bridge quickly closed, but not before a much smaller figure fell out of the portal.

Once the space bridge was shut down, all the other Autobots looked at Optimus with surprised looks. They didn't expect their leader to come up with such acrobatic maneuvers.

"Impressive." Prowl commented.

"Where'd you learn moves like that?" Bulkhead asked.

Optimus looked away and hung his head in shame. "I trained at the… Autobot Academy."

"So how did an academy bot end up on a broken down maintenance crew?" Ratchet asked.

"Yeah? Shouldn't you be leading the Cybertronian Elite Guard or something?" Bumblebee asked.

Optimus didn't answer. He just drifted his attention away toward the rocks. He was lost in his own thoughts until something moved snapping him back to reality.

Emerging from the rubble, Dan Garrett stood on his own two feet with his blue armor on. He groaned as he held his head with his hand.

"Oh… What happened?"

"We seem to have transwarped to a different part of the galaxy. I activated the environmental support system so you can breathe."

"Oh. I didn't know you could do that." Dan said.

"You never asked."

"Hey! Who's there?" Optimus asked loudly from afar.

Dan turned to the direction of the voice. He stared at the Autobots as they approached. They stopped when they found him and leaned on down to examine him.

"What… What are you?" Optimus asked.

Ratchet took a sniff in the air. "Eh… Smells organic."

"Ah. Now, I see."

"You see what?" Dan asked.

"Huh?" Bumblebee asked.

"I wasn't talking to you." Dan said before turning his attention back at the scarab-looking pack attached to his back.

"These creatures are known as Cybertronians, autonomous lifeforms from the planet Cybertron."

"So they're aliens." Dan surmised. "Are they friendly?"

"It varies, much like humans. But they haven't attacked us, so that's progress."

Bulkhead leaned in toward Bumblebee again. "Uh, I think this thing's processor isn't quite right."

"What was your first clue?" Bumblebee asked.

Dan cleared his throat and approached the Autobots. "I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. I'm a bit of a long way from home."

"Clearly." Optimus said.

All of a sudden, a bright, blue light shined catching everyone's attention. This time, though, it didn't come from the space bridge. It came from a part of the asteroid that was coming apart. Everyone looked while Optimus prepared to use his axe on the rock.

"Uh, I don't think that's such a good idea, boss bot." Bulkhead warned.

"Khaji-Da, what's happening?" Dan asked.

"Unknown, but whatever that is, it's more powerful than anything I've seen."

"PRIME, NO!" Ratchet yelled.

It was too late though. Optimus swung his axe down and shattered the rock to pieces. In its place, there was a ten-sided device with a handle on two sides. It was surrounded by lines that were glowing a pure light of blue.

"What is it?" Bulkhead asked.

"I don't know." Bumblebee replied. "Maybe we should take it back to the ship so the doc-bot can check it out."

"Leave it!" Ratchet snapped. "Or better still, throw it through the space bridge. This thing isn't meant to be found."

"What's got you spooked all of a sudden, Ratchet?" Optimus asked.

"Uh, oh."

Dan turned his head back at the scarab. "Again with the 'uh, oh'? That's my least favorite sentence today. What is it now?"

"I'm sensing a much larger spacecraft ten times bigger than this asteroid we're standing on. They don't appear to be friendly."

"Oh, that is an 'uh, oh'." Dan said. He then turned to the Autobots. "Uh, are you guys expecting company?"

"No." Optimus said. "Why?"

Just then, an automated voice called out from Optimus' shoulder where his Autobot insignia was. "Teletran-1 to Optimus Prime. Teletran-1 to Optimus Prime. Unidentified spacecraft entering this sector. Energy signature consistent with Decepticon warship."

"Decepticon?" Optimus asked. "That must be a mistake. The Decepticons were destroyed centuries ago."

"Defeated, not destroyed." Ratchet corrected. "And we're not waiting around for them to find us." He changed into his vehicle mode. "What are you bots waiting for, an invitation? Load it up, pronto!"

"Wait, Ratchet." Optimus yelled out while the others put the strange machine in Ratchet's vehicle form. "Why the sudden urgency? What is this thing?"

"There's no time!" Ratchet yelled. "Let's move!"

"Wait! What about me?" Ted asked.

Bulkhead turned to Ted before looking back at his crew. "Uh, what do we do this this creature?"

"I think it's best if we take him with us." Optimus said. "It'd be pretty sparkless if we leave him in the middle of nowhere, especially when there are Decepticons near."

Ratchet grumbled. "Fine! Whatever gets us out of here, quicker! Come on, little one!"

"He's calling me little?" Dan asked.

"To them, most other alien species are little."

Everyone entered back into the Teletran-1 and started to fly it away from the Decepticon signal. While they were en route to get out of the asteroid field, everyone gathered around the hanger. Dan sat on a crate listening in on the others' conversation.

"You're the history buff, Prime." Ratchet said. "Ever hear of the All-Spark?"

"Yeah." Optimus said. "The most powerful energy source in the universe. It gave the spark of life to all Cybertronians."

"Every bot knows that story." Bulkhead said.

"Here's another one." Ratchet said. "The only way we were able to win the Great War all those centuries ago was by keeping the All-Spark out of the Decepticons' hands. It was sent through a space bridge hidden in some far-flung corner of the galaxy where no one would ever find it."

Bumblebee fixed his eyes on the glowing device they unearthed. "So you're saying we found the All-Spark. The real All-Spark?"

"No. I'm saying it found us."

"That's a lot to take in." Optimus said before turning to Dan. "What about you? What's your story?"

"Me? Well, my name is Dan Garrett. I'm from a primitive planet called Earth."

"How did you end up all the way out here?" Optimus asked.

"Well, where I'm from, I'm an archaeologist. I study ancient relics and cultures. Just earlier, I entered a temple and found an ancient machine that looked exactly like that thing I just came out of. I seem to have accidentally activated it and it zapped me all the way out here."

"You found another space bridge?" Ratchet asked. "Strange. I don't remember any of them being posted in any place called 'Earth' before."

"Long story short, I'm a pretty far way from home." Dan said. "I don't suppose you'll help me out by giving me transport back home? After you secure this All-Spark obviously."

Optimus looked over at his fellow Autobots before turning to Dan. "We'll see what we can do. But first, we need to keep the All-Spark out of the Decepticons' hands."

"Warning!" called out the Teletran-1's automated voice. "Spacecraft approaching. Positive identification as Decepticon warship."

"Everyone, get to your stations." Optimus ordered. "Dan Garrett, hang on tight."

The Autobots ran to the front of the ship to take control of the ship's direction and speed. Meanwhile, Dan was left in the cargo room with the All-Spark.

"We should help."

"How?" Dan asked. "We've never faced anything like this. We mainly dealt with purse-snatchers and bank robbers. Giant alien robots isn't exactly what I expected to fight when I got out of bed this morning."

"Then maybe the All-Spark can help."

"What?" Dan asked looking at the Cybertronian relic. "The All-Spark?"

"The one called Optimus Prime said it was the most powerful energy source in the universe. If we used it on ourselves, our power would increase tenfold, and we'd be better equipped to handle these Decepticons."

Dan stared at the All-Spark for a hard minute. "No."

"What? Why not?"

"Because this All-Spark has nothing to do with us." Dan said. "This relic belongs to the Cybertronians. I can't just use it behind their backs."

"Even if our lives depend on it?"

"We'll figure something out. Heck, odds are, we'll likely get out of this asteroid field without having to actually engage the Decepticons. So for now, let's keep our hands off of it."

Dan entered the command bridge just in time to hear Optimus and his crew make a video call. Up on the windshield, a new screen opened up revealing a bot with a blue helmet and a very large chin.

"Optimus Prime," greeted the blue Autobot they were calling, "You mean, they still let you command other Autobots?"

"Don't start, Sentinel." Optimus said. "Just put me through to Ultra Magnus."

"Now, how could a third-rate rockbuster possibly merit the Autobot supreme commander's attention?" Sentinel asked.

"Display cargo hold visual." Optimus ordered.

Just then, a corner of the video screen changed into a smaller video which showed the All-Spark. Seeing it, Sentinel dropped his smug grin and replaced it with a surprised expression.

"Uh… I'll put you through right away." Sentinel said before ending the video call.

"I don't know about you, Khaji-Da," Dan said, "But something about that guy just screamed 'punchable face'."

"I concur."

Another video opened up showing an older Autobot with a square head, a blue helmet, and little, white horns growing from his helmet.

"Ultra Magnus here, Optimus. We're tracking your Decepticon signal. Probably just a lost scout ship. Ever since we drove them off Cybertron, the Cons have been wandering aimlessly. They'd never be so foolish as to invade Autobot space. Still, I'm sending out a strike force to intercept if necessary. Meantime, you and your Bots just sit tight."

"Understood." Optimus said. "Just one more thing, Ultra Magnus. Have you ever heard of a planet called Earth?"

"Earth?" Ultra Magnus asked. "No. It doesn't sound familiar. What's that have to do with the All-Spark?"

Optimus glanced back to see Dan standing behind the doorway. Although he can see him clearly, he was sure that Ultra Magnus couldn't.

"I can explain it all later." Optimus said.

"Okay…" Ultra Magnus replied a little unsure. "Just be sure to sit tight. And Prime, don't try to be a hero. It's not in your programming." With that, the call ended.

"You didn't mention me?" Dan asked stepping out of the doorway.

"I don't think Ultra Magnus would put the life of a little organic as much of a priority as the All-Spark's safety." Optimus said. "Don't worry. We'll find a way to get you home."

"Um, Optimus," Prowl said, "The Decepticons are still on our tail and closing in fast."

"So why don't we see them?" Bumblebee asked.

"Teletran-1, set a course for the nearest space bridge." Optimus said.

"But Ultra Magnus said to sit tight." Bulkhead said.

"With all due respect, Ultra Magnus isn't carrying the All-Spark." Optimus said.

"He's got a point." Dan said. "If this thing is as powerful as you say, we can't take any chances. Is there a way I can help?"

"How can you help?" Ratchet asked. "I don't think you can get them with your little size."

"Believe it or not, I pack a pretty mean punch." Dan answered.

"All right then." Optimus said. "We'll make a B-line for the space bridge and blast whatever debris is in our way. And Dan Garrett, if it comes down to it… Well, let's hope you have something that can help."

The ship turned around and returned deep into the asteroid field. They were on their way to the space bridge when something made them slow down. They eased up their speed once they found an enormous spaceship much bigger than what they were in right now. It was black as the darkest depths of space.

"Uh, boss bot, I don't think we can blast through that." Bulkhead said.

"So that's a Decepticon ship?" Dan asked. "We could be in bigger trouble than we thought."

"It's a command ship." Optimus realized. "I recognize the markings from the history vids."

"Megatron." Ratchet glared.

"Megatron?" Bumblebee asked starting to panic. "As in THE Megatron?"

"Who's Megatron?" Dan asked.

"Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons." Ratchet said. "He's ruthless, cunning, and pure evil. And if he is in that ship, our odds of making out of this alive are almost zero."

Inside the black ship, the Nemesis, a group of darker Cybertronians stood at the command bridge. They all looked out at the Autobot ship drifting just outside.

"Megatron is a fool who's been chasing a ghost for centuries." said a Decepticon with jet wings on his back. "I seriously doubt we'll find this 'All-Spark' aboard such an insignificant vessel."

"TRAITOR!" shouted a much larger Decepticon with only one robotic eye at the center of his face. "Megatron is wise! Megatron is bold! Megatron will return the Decepticons to Cybertron and..."

"'And wipe our home land clean of the stench of Autobot tyranny'. Bladdy-blah-blah." interrupted a female Decepticon with four eyes and spider legs sticking out of her back. "Did you memorize that speech, Lugnut, or is it just hard wired into that thick one-track processor of yours!?"

Suddenly, her arm was caught by a blue beam which quickly covered it in ice. She turned to see who blasted her, another Decepticon with a bright-blue face.

"As usual, Blackarachnia, your demeanor is as unpleasant as that accursed, organic mode of yours."

"Blow it out your actuator, three-face." Blackarachnia said breaking her arm free of his ice.

Suddenly, the last Decepticon's face spun around switching it with a red one. "Ze name is Blitzwing, insect! Remember it, because it's ze last thing you're gonna hear before I…" His face spun around again until it was replaced by a black face with an insane, red smile. "Express my feelings in song! Ze itsy, bitsy spider…"

The Decepticons continued to argue and talk over each other until one last Decepticon entered the room. They all stood in silence in the presence of their leader, Megatron. He turned to the first Decepticon who spoke.

"Starscream, report."

"Energy reading off the scale, my liege. We also picked up a strange signal that I don't think we can identify. Shall I fire on the Autobots?"

"Cripple their ship," Megatron said, "But do not destroy it… yet."

Starscream feigned an agreeable smile. "Yes, yes, yes! Brilliant strategy, o wise and great leader."

The Decepticons fired their ship's weapons at the Ark. The Autobots tried to fly away, but they soon found it hard to do while avoiding the enemy weapons fired at them.

"I got a match on the energy reading." Blackarachnia said going through her computers. "If it's not the All-Spark, it's something just as powerful."

"And what of the other signal you discovered?" Megatron asked.

"I ran through everything in our database, sir, but nothing. Whatever else the Autobots found, it's not Cybertronian."

"I volunteer to deploy and breach the Autobot ship!" Starscream said profoundly.

"I didn't spend the last four-million solar cycles searching the galaxy just so you can lay your greasy wings on the All-Spark." Megatron replied gripping hard at Starscream's wing. He forced him closer to him to express his threat face to face. "I will harness its energy into the ultimate weapon and crush the Autobots for good."

Megatron released Starscream's wing and walked out of the command bridge. As he left, Starscream looked and stared at the dent in his wing that Megatron ruthlessly left. He most certainly didn't like being disrespected.

After getting what he needed, Starscream followed Megatron and found him waiting at the ship's entrance. The Decepticon leader didn't need to turn around to know that his second-in-command was approaching while the door opened.

"What do you want now, Starscream?"

Starscream patted his master on his back, but what Megatron didn't know was that he was actually attaching an explosive device on it. "Only to wish you luck, my liege."

"I do not believe in luck." Megatron said leaping out of the ship and flying away in his vehicle form.

"Neither do I." Starscream said in a whispered, sinister tone.

Back in the Ark, the crew noticed something large heading in their direction. They enhanced the image just in time to see it transform into the Decepticon leader.

"Is that… Megatron?" Optimus asked with a voice full of fear.

"He's more intimidating than I thought he'd be." Dan said.

Megatron sped up his flight until he reached the side of the Ark. Everyone braced for impact, but they soon found themselves with only silence. There was no impact, and Megatron was nowhere within sight. Everyone felt uneasy by the lack of action.

"Guess he wasn't coming for us." Bulkhead said.

"No. Something's not right." Dan said. "Maybe he's…"

Suddenly, the ship finally shook. Megatron was on top of the Ark using his arm cannon to laser his way into the ship. Optimus looked up and saw the ceiling began to heat up. He knew Megatron was getting too close for comfort.

"Ratchet, seal the hull breech! Prowl, hold the ship steady! Bulkhead, Bumblebee, guard the All-Spark!"

"And me?" Dan said. "I told you, I can help!"

"Fine! Go with Bumblebee and Bulkhead to guard the All-Spark! I'll hold off Megatron!"

"But we're repair bots!" Bumblebee cried out. "We're not programmed for this kind of action!"

"Then consider this an upgrade." Optimus stated.

Optimus activated a pair of gigantic pincers from the roof of the Ark. He then guided them to grab ahold of Megatron. He tried to fight out, but Optimus was determined to keep him in place.

That's when Starscream's bomb went off on Megatron's back.

BOOM!

The whole ship was shook with great force thanks to the massive explosion. Everyone fell over and the Ark started to plummet. All the while, Starscream basked proud of his sneaky handiwork. Once he briefly celebrated, Starscream put on a solemn face and headed back to the bridge to deliver the bad news to his fellow Decepticons.

In response to the heavy damage the Ark took, the ship sealed the broken parts and extinguished the fires. To avoid a collision, Optimus took manual control of the ship and guided it around the asteroid it almost hit. The space bridge they left earlier was finally within sight.

Meanwhile, down at the cargo bay, Dan, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead looked and saw the All-Spark. The light it emitted quickly became brighter and brighter shining around the room.

"Hey, what's that thing doing?" Bumblebee asked.

"Khaji-Da…" Dan asked.

"Don't ask me! I don't know!"

The light covered the entire ship with a blue glow which then blasted from the front. It stopped at the very center of the space bridge activating it. The portal opened up just before the Ark went right into it.

After seeing the Ark disappear, Starscream looked out the window ready to give his speech to the other Decepticons.

"This is a dark day in Decepticon history. May the legacy of our fallen leader Megatron live in our memory cores for all eternity. As I appoint myself new leader, I solemnly pledge to…"

Starscream turned to finish his speech, but quickly stopped when he saw that there was no one left. Everyone already disappeared. He wasn't talking to anyone.

"Where's everybody gone?"

Starscream then turned and saw that the light from the space bridge didn't die out. It continued to grow until it enveloped him and the ship he stayed on.

Dan groaned as he found himself sprawled on the floor of the Ark. He looked over and saw the light on the All-Spark dim back to its original glow before he stood back up.

"What the heck just happened?" he asked.

"The All-Spark. It must have somehow restarted the space bridge. It sent us away."

"But to where?" Dan asked.

Dan looked and saw a window. He walked on over and looked outside. What he saw then made him gasp in surprise.

Just outside the ship, Dan saw a planet that was mostly blue and covered with clouds. He already knew where he was.

"This… This is Earth." Dan said in disbelief. "But how is this…"

Just then, Dan heard a loud series of grunts and metal clanging in the next room. He quickly sprinted and stopped at the doorway. He looked over and gasped when he saw Megatron pressing Optimus to the wall and easily overcoming Prowl and Ratchet who tried to stop him.

Megatron looked like he saw better days. The explosion from before left him without an arm and the rest of him was clearly damaged, but the look in his eyes say that he didn't care at all. All he had on his mind was one thing.

"The All-Spark." Megatron said giving a threatening tone to Optimus. "Where is it?! I grow impatient!"

"Looks like we're gonna have to tag in." Dan said.

"Agreed."

Suddenly, the scarab on Dan's back shot out a blue stream of fire launching him toward Megatron. A laser then formed from it allowing Dan to wield it. He fired blue blasts from it aimed right at Megatron's face.

"What is this?!" Megatron asked looking over at Dan. "Who are you?"

"Basically, I'm a hero!" Dan replied flying around the room.

Megatron kept his eyes on Dan trying to determine when to finally attack him. While he was distracted, Optimus reached out and flipped a switch.

"Artificial gravity disabled!"

Just then, everyone in the room began to float on up to the ceiling. Even Megatron found himself weightless.

"Good thinking, Prime!" Ratchet said. "Putting us on equal footing, so to speak!"

As soon as Ratchet reached the ceiling, he activated magnetic pulls on his feet to walk on it as though it was the ground. Optimus used his axe to ground himself by etching it to the wall. Megatron, meanwhile, used the metal parts in place of his arm to latch himself to the ceiling.

"Looks like you don't have a leg to stand on anymore!" Dan yelled out to Megatron.

"I don't know what you are," Megatron said before pulling out a large, metal sword, "But I will make you suffer for your interference!"

Dan quickly used his rockets to move around the room dodging his swings. At that moment, Bumblebee and Bulkhead floated their way in. Megatron swung his sword at Bumblebee who also dodged them.

Dan floated backwards until he stopped near where Ratchet was. The medic looked at him curiously.

"How did you do all that?" Ratchet asked.

"It's this scarab here." Dan said pointing at the metal device on his back. "I found it on one of my expeditions. It appears to be alien, but I can't figure out what. And it appears to have amnesia. Nevertheless, it's provided me with weapons and armor. I told you I pack a pretty mean punch."

"In that case, you can help us." Optimus said. "Everyone position for a concentrated attack on my signal."

It appeared though that Prowl didn't listen. Everyone saw him jump his way upwards to be right beside Megatron.

"Prowl, no! Wait for my signal!" Optimus yelled out. He reached out to stop Prowl, but as soon as he reached his foot, his hand suddenly phased through it.

At the same time, Megatron swung his sword at what he thought was the real Prowl. As soon as he realized it was just a hologram, the real Prowl flew up behind him and lodged his weaponized disk into the remains of Megatron's right arm. The Decepticon yelled in response to that before floating away.

"Okay, the decoy was a nice touch." Optimus admitted. "But once again, a little warning would've helped!"

At that moment, Bulkhead was drifting wildly through the weightless air until he hit Optimus. He was pushed forward suddenly.

"Would it kill you Bots to say something like 'heads up' or—I don't know—'watch out' or…"

"Incoming!" Dan shouted. He flew towards Megatron and threw a punch at Megatron. Although it did cause pain to his hand, his plan worked as Megatron was sent flying across the bridge until he hit the control panel.

All of a sudden, the Ark's engines began to roar and it rocketed right towards the Earth. The sudden takeoff threw everyone to the walls, and Optimus and Dan was sent heading back to the cargo bay.

Optimus tried to get up, but all of a sudden, Megatron appeared and trampled on Optimus with one foot.

"Now bring me the All-Spark, and I may spare your miserable Autobot lives!"

"Optimus!" Dan shouted. He flew towards Megatron to attack him again.

This time, Megatron was ready for Dan. He swung his sword again, and unlike before, it managed to hit him. Dan was thrown all the way to the wall where he crashed and collapsed on the ground writhing in pain.

"Dan!" Optimus yelled.

"Working on healing right now!"

Megatron scoffed. "It appears you chose the wrong side, insect."

Despite the incredible he felt from Megatron's sword, Dan forced himself to chuckle. "Well, you got the 'insect' part right. You see, back at my home, do you know what folks call me?"

Megatron glared silently at Dan waiting for his answer. He gave the giant robot a cunning grin.

"They call me the Blue Beetle."

Dan quickly raised his laser cannon and aimed it at the control panel on the wall. He pulled the trigger and allowed the blast to blow past Megatron and hit the panel.

"Warning! Docking tunnel deployed!"

Teletran-1's voice rang out just as the door opened up from right behind Megatron. He was launched backward and fell right into the tunnel. He didn't get far, however. He grabbed ahold of the doorway and tried to force himself out.

Seeing Megatron nearly make it out, Dan saw that there was only one way to stop him and save his new friends. He struggled to stand up and look over at Optimus who was using his axe to keep from falling out.

"Well, Optimus," Dan said, "It looks like this is the end of the road. Sorry our time together was short."

"What?" Optimus asked before realizing what he was planning. "Wait! Don't!"

"Don't worry about it." Dan said. "You kept your promise. Welcome to Earth. Thanks for bringing me home." He started the engines from his scarab.

"Why?" Optimus asked. "We just met earlier! Why are you doing this for us?"

Dan gave one last smile at Optimus before his mask retracted. This was the first time Optimus got to saw his human face, and the man smiled at him without any regret in his eyes.

"Because that's what heroes do."

"It's been an honor, Dan Garrett."

Ending it on that, Dan flew towards Megatron with as much speed and force as he could. Optimus called out for him again, but it was too late. Dan Garrett hit Megatron square in the center of his chest knocking him off the doorway. The both of them continued their descent until they fell right outside of the ship right into the burning area around the hull. Megatron yelled out until both of he and Dan disappeared into the blaze.

As soon as Optimus returned to the bridge, he ordered his crew to enter their stasis pods. Once he saw that the ship was on a collision course for the city of Detroit, he delayed his stasis to create a more controlled landing where nobody got hurt. With all his strength, he managed to aim the ship to Lake Erie. Once he was sure their descent was safe, Optimus quickly entered his own stasis pod. He fell to sleep right before the Ark sank into the bottom of the lake.

While the Autobots went into an indefinite sleep, something else occurred in a nearby farmland. From the upper room of a barn, two teenage boys were working on making gadgets right next to an open window. One boy was a particularly handsome one with short, auburn hair and blue clothes. He worked alongside a boy who was pudgier than him with slick, black hair and darker skin. He wore a green button shirt.

"I've got to say, Ted," said the boy with the black hair, "I appreciate you taking the time to helping me with my engineering from the city."

"Why wouldn't I, Isaac?" Ted asked. "I wouldn't miss out on the chance to keep working with my best friend. Besides, my sister's in one of her moods, and she's going to be like this all night."

"Wouldn't I know it." Isaac said rolling his eyes. "So what do you think we need if we have to recalibrate…"

The two of them stopped talking and working when they heard a thunderous noise outside, which was strange since there were hardly any clouds in the sky.

"What was that?" Isaac asked.

"I don't know." Ted said taking a flashlight. "It sounds like something hit the field. Let's go."

"What? Wait, Ted!" Isaac cried out, but his words fell on deaf ears. Ted was already out the door.

Isaac grabbed his own flashlight and followed his courageous friend out of the barn. The two of them trekked along the ground until they found disturbed ground. The further they went, the more they found a trail of something that crashed on the field. They kept going until they stopped and gasped at what they found.

Megatron's lifeless head.

"What… What is that?" Isaac asked.

"I don't know." Ted said. "Looks like some kind of…"

Once again, a noise interrupted the two. They turned and pointed their flashlights at something that was weakly groaning. They gasped once more when they ground Dan Garrett laying in a crater of his own making. Ted knelt over to him to get a better look at the fallen man.

"Who's that?" Isaac asked.

"I don't know. He looks human." Ted said. He tried to get Dan to stay awake. "Hey, sir. Can you hear me? Do you know who you are?"

Dan weakly opened his eyes and coughed. "Dan… Garrett."

"Dan Garrett. Okay." Ted said. "I'm Ted Kord. This is my friend, Isaac Sumdac. Just hang on tight. We'll get you help and…"

"No." Dan coughed. "I'm afraid that's it for me."

"No, no. Sir, hold on." Ted pleaded. "What happened?"

Ted hold onto Dan's dying body trying to help him up. That's when his hand brushed on his back and he discovered the Scarab.

"What in the world is…"

Dan coughed again. "Listen. The Scarab… The Blue Beetle… Take care of it. Take care of…" Dan didn't say another word. He then gave a couple more weak coughs before collapsing. His hands dangled and his head sunk low.

As soon as Dan passed away in Ted's arms., the Scarab fell off of his back. Ted noticed it hit the ground and picked it up with his free hand. He looked curiously at it knowing that this was the night both his and Isaac's lives would change forever.

The true story behind everything wouldn't continue for 50 years.
