The Thirteenth Gift
Henry Mitchell, Jr. waited as he sat next to his Aunt Prue as his mom and his other aunts placed five candles in a circle. Aunt Prue hugged him and told him how much his mother wanted to see him. She told him how his mother adored him and how much she anticipated this moment to be with him. Even though he only knew his Aunt Prue for only a week, he seemed close to her; she was an extension of his mother.
The Power of Four stood in front of the Book of Shadows, "Hear these words, Hear my cry, Spirit from the other side, Come to me, I summon thee, Cross now the great divide."
Orbs of light spiraled into the image of Kim in a white gown. "Henry…."
"Mom?" A tear trickled down his cheek.
She walked through the candles, and she was solid enough to hug him. She knelt next to him, so she looked up at him. "It's so good to see you with your family. They love you very much. I came to give you a special gift since now you're an official teenager."
"What gift? Mom, the only thing I wanted was to see you…"
"That's very sweet, but it's not really from me. It's from the Elders." She twirled her fingers and conjured a white box.
"What's the gift?"
"You won't know until you open it."
Henry opened the box, and orbs swirled into HJ's body and continued to light the room. "What happened?"
"You see, I was destined to become a whitelighter. Unfortunately, I was killed before that could happen. It's been passed down to you."
"I thought that only to dead people…"
"Not in this family. You have a powerful gift to protect yourself and others. You will not only have the powers of a whitelighter, but you will have the ability like your mother and Aunt Prue—to move things with your mind. They will teach you how to use these powers to protect innocents and your family."
HJ didn't know what to say. He never wished for powers—only when his sisters bragged, they would be able to do things that he wouldn't. He accepted it, but now…he wasn't sure what to do.
"You now have and will pass the Halliwell line to your children. Blessed Be." She glanced to Paige and Prue, smiled at her son, and orbed back to the Heavens.
