I Lived

Molly wakes up in her room to yet another upbeat pop song that gets her energy flowing for the day. She's back to normal and has learned how to control her ghost powers with the help of her friends and family.

Molly takes a deep breath and transforms into her ghost-human hybrid form. One eye with a bright yellow aura around it and her hair changing to have blonde streaks. She flies around her room for a bit with a smile, then lands, changing back to normal again.

Wow, I'm really getting the hang of these ghost powers! Libby and Ollie were right, if I focus my joyful energy and channel these powers by thinking of the people and things that truly bring me joy in life, I'll be okay.

Molly thinks about the memories. Times she's had with her family, friends, boyfriend, and all of the moments that make life worth living. Ever since she moved to Brighton, she truly found her forever home.

Once Molly's ready for the day, she looks over to Scratch's little ghost house. She walks over to it and sits down, reminiscing about the good times she had with her ghost buddy. It was hard, moving on. It still is, but she'll never forget the memories.

"Scratch, I miss you. It was hard to say goodbye, but I know you're having an amazing time living your dream life. I'm proud of you. Letting go of the past is hard, but it's embracing change that makes life worth living. I've changed, and I know you have too. So let's embrace it together, even if it means being apart." Molly said.

Molly starts to tear up. Having to say goodbye again hurts a little, but she's able to move forward.

Summoning a little electric fireball in her hand, Molly can feel her joyful ghostly energy rushing through her. She feels closer to Scratch this way, being part ghost, and she'd like to think that this was a little gift from her memories.

Molly wipes her tears away and waves goodbye to her little ghost house as she heads downstairs. Flying down with her ghost powers to get there faster.

Once Molly gets to the living room, she sees Libby and Ollie there waiting for her. They were planning on meeting up to talk about her newfound ghost powers. How they came about and what this means for her.

Molly sits down on the couch and changes back to her normal self. Her Mom and Dad come in and sit next to her, still a bit worried but being as supportive as they can be.

Libby pulls out her book on paranormal ghost research while Ollie stands by her side, both ready to share what they found out about Molly's current situation.

"Molly, I've done some research and have come to find out that your ghost spirit of joy is so powerful that you're able to channel your ghost's energy and connect with the spiritual part of yourself, having your ghost combine with your human self. It's incredible! And very rare." Libby explained.

Molly nods, taking in the information with excitement. Somehow, being part ghost makes sense. She's always felt she had a close connection to ghosts.

Sharon and Pete look at Molly, glad to see her being her happy self again, but still a bit concerned.

"Can these ghost powers hurt her?" Pete asked.

Sharon then puts her hand on Molly's hand.

"We just want to make sure you're safe." Sharon said.

Molly gives her parents hugs, assuring them that she's feeling better than ever. Then she looks to Libby and Ollie for reassurance.

"Don't worry, I'm okay! Right, guys?" Molly asked.

Ollie then takes out his own research book on ghosts from his parents.

"Well, another part of why your ghost has become a part of your human self is because you've changed into a wraith so many times that your body and soul are separating…But don't worry! I don't think that's it. I think Libby's right. Your ghost half is very powerful and you're connecting to that part of yourself." Ollie replied.

Molly thinks about all of this. Could it be that she's been a wraith so many times that her ghost is starting to separate from her body? She can't help but wonder. It would make sense considering what happened in her dream where her ghost left her body, leaving her alone as a wraith.

Molly sinks into the couch a little, feeling a bit sad but trying to hold onto hope.

"Almost like what happened to Scratch…" Molly said.

Libby and Ollie rush over to Molly's side.

Ollie takes Molly's hand and Molly looks back at him, hopeful.

"Don't worry, I don't think it's like what happened to Scratch. His ghost left his body because he gave up on living and lost hope. You're not like that." Ollie said.

Molly starts to feel better. Tearing up a bit as she thinks about Scratch and what happened to him, but trying to hold onto the fact that he's happy now. Because of her, he's finally living his life to the fullest.

Libby then takes Molly's other hand.

"Ollie's right. You have way too much optimism and joy in you to ever let something like that happen. And you're not alone. You have all of us here to help you figure this out and we're not going anywhere." Libby said.

Molly starts to cry, but they're happy tears. Overwhelmed by all of the love and support around her, she can't help but feel her joyful ghostly energy rushing through her.

Pete and Sharon look at one another, then back at Molly with some concern seeing her cry again.

"What's wrong, Molly?" Sharon asked.

Molly rushes into her Mom's arms for a hug.

"I'm just so happy we're all still together. That I'm not alone. And, even though saying goodbye to Scratch hurts, I know I'll be okay because I still have so much love in my life." Molly replied.

Everyone joins Molly in a group hug. She can feel it, the joyful energy all around her. It fills her up with the one thing that keeps her going, love.

"Joy is way more powerful than misery will ever be." Molly said.

Molly remembers saying that when she defeated the Chairman. She truly believes it, even up until the end when the world started to lose its color after saying goodbye.

Why did we say goodbye? Well, everything happens for a reason. I think this was meant to be. It's sad and hard to let go, but we've both got everything we could ever want and need from life. We're both living and that's what matters most.

Once everyone breaks away from the hug, all a bit teary from the emotional moment, they look to Molly with that same joyful smile she's always given them.

Libby then steps forward and takes Molly's hand once again, glad to see her eyes shining with hope again.

"So, what's next for Molly McGee?" Libby asked.

Molly walks towards the window, looking out at the world with a new perspective. Recharged by the joy of her loved ones.

Suddenly, a bright yellow aura glows around Molly as she floats off the ground. She changes into her ghostly form with a genuine smile on her face. Then she looks back to everyone.

"I'm going to live." Molly replied.

Molly then rushes out the door and starts flying, waving goodbye to her loved ones as they smile back at her and wave with excitement.

Molly soars through the air, bright blue skies and fluffy white clouds all around her as she takes in the feeling of being alive. It's just like the ride she went on at the amusement park and the time she briefly flew over Brighton after launching herself off of a trebuchet, but this feeling of flying is real and she loves it.

"I may be half ghost now, but I've never felt more alive!" Molly said.

Molly goes as fast as she can, feeling the rush, but this time it's genuine because she knows she'll be okay. She knows she's safe in the sky and enjoys it.

After flying around for a while, Molly decides to go back home. She flies there slowly, a feeling of calm coming over her as the sky starts to get dark but still colored by the light from the sun setting.

Molly realized this change, while it's scary and there's a lot of unknowns going into being a girl with ghost powers, is something she'll choose to see a bright side of.

Seeing her house down below, Molly lands on the front lawn, changing back to her human self and walking towards the door. She opens it and finds everyone inside, enjoying the peace.

Thinking back on her short life, Molly can't help but feel everything she's been through was worth it. The emotional and adventurous moments being highlights, but it's simple moments where she gets to spend time with her loved ones that she remembers most.

Molly then joins her family and friends in the living room, sitting next to Libby, Ollie, and Darryl as they play a board game together. She watches, a smile on her face as she realizes everything will be okay.

Molly then goes over to sit on the couch, looking out the window as the sun starts to set, the cooler colors fill the sky as the sun goes down. It's nice and she can't help but smile.

Pete and Sharon then stand next to Molly, wondering what she's thinking after everything that's happened.

"Is everything okay, Molly?" Sharon asked.

Molly takes in the colorful world and looks to her Mom with a smile.

"Yeah, I'm okay. A lot has happened, but I'm choosing to see it all as a positive thing. Change is a part of life and it's messy, but it's also beautiful. I know whatever comes next, we'll get through it together." Molly said.

Hearing Molly's words, Libby, Ollie, and Darryl all come join in to watch as the sun sets on this day. The end is a new beginning, and Molly can't wait to see what life has in store for her.

The sun sets, the sky now dark and full of stars as the day ends and the stars shine in the midnight blue sky.

Molly then turns back around and looks to her loved ones with a smile.

"I just realized I have everything I need right here. In my forever home, with all of you." Molly said.

Libby hugs Molly, tears of joy in her eyes as she's so happy for her best friend.

"That's so sweet, Molly. And we'll all be here for you, no matter what. Your joyful ghostly energy keeps us going too and that truly is your gift." Libby said.

Once they break away from the hug, Molly takes Libby's hand. Her second friend in Brighton who's always been there for her through everything. Then she looks at everyone with that smile and the light in her eyes, her glow.

"I like to think of it as my loving curse. I am half ghost after all, spreading my joyful energy! And even though I'm a ghost girl, I can safely say, I lived. And I'll keep on living my best life. The life of Molly McGee goes on. One day at a time." Molly said.

The End
