Kuri was up on Windcarver, her hoverboard, about 10 feet up, and jumped off.
Hawks quickly flew over to catch her. "What are you doing?!"
Kuir's crash bracelets caught her. "Ow! Yeah they work alright."
Hawks caught her. "Why didn't you use your wings?!"
"Cuz I'm testing my crash bracelets!" Kuri snapped her fingers. "Cmon Windcarver! You can do it!"
"Why do you have a hoverboard?" Hawks asked incredulously. "Why not use your wings?"
"Oh Sis made it once when I had a broken wing!" Kuri beamed excitedly. "I made her Weebo when I left for America. "Kuri showed him a hover bot with images like a baby TV.
Hawks blinked. "So why not use them now? Are they healed?"
"They are." Kuri flapped them for emphasis. "I was testing the equipment. Tell me, when your in battle, I bet villains attack your wings and knock ya outta the sky, ne? These—" She clicked her wrists together. "—are like life jackets for the sky!"
"Yeah they do…plus I use my feathers to attack as well…you can make things like that?"
"Yeah. I made them outta the quirk canceling cuffs from Tartarus." Kuri said absently then realized what she said and tried to play it off casually.
"How?!"
"With magnets?" Kuri caged.
"How did you get your hands on those cuffs though?"
"Uh…" Kuri said, trapped. "I got em at work. Let's talk about something else."
"It's alright." Hawks, realizing her discomfort, dropped it, but as an agent, put a pin in it to check out later. "Did you wanna go somewhere?"
"Go? Ah, no, I have to work." Kuri indicated the devices, then flew up and snapped her fingers, calling Windcarver and Freebie.
"Alright then. Maybe next time?" Hawks tried not to be too disappointed, smiling and helping her onto her hoverboard.
"Y-yeah." Kuri said shyly. "Wanna help me with the flight trajectory?"
"Sure!" Hawks said a little to eagerly. "Lead the way milady"
Kuri lead the way, letting her hand dangle in case he wanted to take it.
Hawks took her hand and flew with her
Kuri was awestruck when he opened his big wings.
Hawks smiled at her in response.
"Wowwwe."
