Back with another chapter. Thank you everyone that reads and likes and follows. Truly appreciate everyone that does it.
I don't own Sekirei.
I do own this OC.
Enjoy.
"Explain this... game." Roku says turning his body towards the television.
"Really now? The first response from most would be "Who are you?"" The man in the TV says interested by the man's first choice of words.
"You are Hiroto Minaka, anyone with access to the news or some form of media would be able to identify you." Roku responds plainly.
"You would think so! But unfortunately it is so few in this world with even a sub-par observational skill. When a super genius speaks everyone should listen." The now named Minaka says going off on a tangent about himself.
"Why are you in my television?" Roku asks unconcerned by his supposed intellect.
"You are here to be apart of a legend!" Minaka says striking a grandiose pose. "While you may not see it, we are entering a new age! An age of the Gods!" He says loudly.
Roku simply looks unamused at him, wondering what other was could this odd man not answer his questions. "I do not care about the new age, now answer my question." He says more demanding this time.
"Pushy, aren't we? You have been chosen by fate to be apart of my game, one I call: the Sekirei plan!" He says raising both hands in the air to emphasize how major this is.
"..." Roku just sits unfazed by Minaka's exaggerated motions.
"Well your just no fun at all. Fine, fine, you will take part in a battle royale that spans the entirety of the city." He says caving in simply explaining what the objective was. "You are currently in the first phase of this plan, and only after a certain percentage of the Sekirei has been winged will the second commence." He continues going into more detail on the game.
As details are revealed, a strange yet almost familiar sensation takes over Roku. *zztt!* He couldn't understand but it felt as if the more this man on the TV talked about fighting and violence, something in his head was triggering to it.
*BZZZT!*
In a flash, the room around him disappeared. Yahan and Yashima were gone and so was the television. He seemed to be in some sort of metal corridor. He was rushing down it, breathing heavy as he ran. Looking down he sees in his arms he is holding a little girl. "!!!" He is startled by what he is seeing, and becoming increasingly confused by it all.
As he runs he hears multiple guns fire off, quickly followed by dying screams. Turning around, he spots a shadowy figure walk down the corridor towards him. A warm aura surrounded the figure and eyes full of life became trained on him.
A sense of relief washed over him upon meeting eyes with the woman. "Thank goodness it's one of you." He says as the shadowy walks up to him eerily.
""I don't know what they did to her exactly, but please take her far away from here! No one deserves a life like this!" He says angered but not understanding why he was angered.
The figure was now next to him, but still shadows covered it's body. The only thing that he could tell was that the build was that of a woman's.
The female takes the little girl from his arms. Holding on to her tightly.
"They had the other one in a room down this corridor, I'll take you to her-*shnnk*" His statement ended abruptly, something felt like it was stuck in his throat. It felt cold for only a moment, followed by a rush of warm liquid in his throat. As he registers the taste of copper, his legs give out, dropping him to his knees. *ACCCHHHH!!!* The blade is pulled out, and in some desperate attempt to survive Roku clutches at the wound.
Looking up at the figure he sees a shocked look on her face with the child still in her arms. Meaning whoever did this was behind him. The hypothesis is proven true when another shadowy figure walks into view from behind. This figure however had one defining feature to her, long gray hair.
Any sort of feeling begins to leave him as the room fades to black. The last thing Roku sees is the gray haired figure raise a sword in her hand, bringing it down across his body.
*BZZZT*
"..ku...ROKU!!! ROKU!!!!!" Coming back to his senses he is back in the room, Yahan yelling in his ear to get his attention.
"What happened?" Roku ask loss as to what has happened as he was experiencing this... look into the past.
"You were just staring off into God knows where for the past 20 minutes." Yahan exclaims out, sounding somewhat concerned.
"R-Roku-sama, what happened to you?" Yashima asked very concerned for her Ashikabi.
"...I do not know. It felt like a memory, but so many things in it, were vague to me. I died in it, or at least I believe I did." He does his best to explain what he had witnessed to the Sekirei.
After hearing his very little recollection, they too become confused. Nothing about the events sounded familiar to anything they would have ever heard of.
With another thing to worry about for later added he focuses on the now. "What did Minaka talk about while I was... gone?" He ask hesitantly not have any true word to best describe his experience.
The girls explain the situation from the beginning of how the plan will work and what to expect moving forward.
"This is... troublesome." He says after hearing the rundown.
Yashima feels her ashikabi's sense of worry after unknowingly finding his way in this glorified death game. "I'm really sorry this is happening to you Roku-sama." She says feeling responsible for this happening. "If I had just-"
Her sentence was stopped by Roku raising his hand. "Please do not apologize, I don't blame you for having a reaction, nor do I want you to blame yourself. Had I not been there, who knows what could have happened to you. The reality I was able to help is more than enough reason to not regret my current situation." He finishes say with a compassionate grin on his face.
His words was enough to cause Yashima to blush as she gives a polite nod.
Yahan witnessing all of this grins at how cute the two were, all while rolling her eyes because of how mushy the moment was. "Alright you two lovebirds, it's late and I think there isn't much more that can be done tonight." She tells the two before yawning.
Roku gives a nod before standing. "Agreed, tomorrow I will be off from work, we can talk more then." He tells them before gesturing to follow him.
He walks around the corner and the two follow him.
"Oh my~ already taking us to bed I see." Yahan says in a flirty tone.
"Isn't this happening too fast Roku-sama?" Yashima asks flustered by the thought.
"Not at all." Roku replies. Opening the door he reveals the room to them. "I myself take up the the space, but for you both, the bed should be enough to rest comfortably on. You may have it." He tells the two before walking back to the living area.
""WHAT?!" The two ask shocked by his statement. Yahan more agitated than anything.
"Wait you can't just give up your room like that!" Yahan shouts to Roku.
"I have, good night." He responds quickly before turning off the light and leaving the two going back to the living area.
"Your not going that far! I can just yell!" Yahan shouts frustrated by Roku's kindness.
"Shhhh. It's rude to yell when there's other people probably sleeping." Yashima says softly hoping to quiet Yahan.
Yahan knew she was right and hated it, but for now she would just have to relent. "Does that not bother you? He just gave up his own bed without a second thought." She says softly to the other girl.
"I-I think it says a lot about his character, he didn't have to do this, but he did without a second thought. He even asserted himself in giving it. That's what you like right?" Yashima says getting into the bed.
"... You don't assert yourself giving, you assert when you take." She says in a whiny voice. She falls onto the bed defeated.
"It hasn't been 6 hours, surely you can't be so quick to be... intimate with Roku-sama." Yashima says with a blush growing on her face.
"Why the hell not? He's so perfect; so big and so tall. The way he choked that creep out, and the cold look on his face when he did it.~" She says with a lustful look on her face. It quickly turned into a frown. "Why the hell did I react to someone so... so... *sigh* damnit." Unable to find the words to describe Roku, she gives up on the talk.
Turning over she drifts off to sleep, Yashima doing the same.
Morning
Roku lays flat on the floor in a deep sleep, his body seemingly unbothered by the very minimal give it provides. In an instant his eyes snap open, almost as if an alarm went off in his head. Sitting up, he looks towards the door seeing two pairs of boots.
"This confirms I'm not suffering from some delusional episode." He says to himself coming to terms with the very real situation.
Not wanting to harp on it too much he stands taking a few seconds to stretch his neck. He makes his way over to the kitchen, going into the fridge he pulls out eggs, tofu and other ingredients to make breakfast with.
"So many variables to be concerned with now." He thinks to himself as he preps the food. "Potentially 106 other opponents to be wary of. All while I have no knowledge of any of them. What DO I know?" He ask himself.
108 Sekirei. The system chimes in listing off any information gathered so far.
Superhuman Abilities: All Sekirei posses attributes that exceed those of normal humans. Maximum output: Unknown.
Martial Arts Mastery: All Sekirei are likely to posses knowledge in hand to hand combat.
Supernatural Abilities: All Sekirei are likely to posses skills not possible to be performed by a human.
"A short list, but things that will be good to be cautious of." He thinks putting eggs on a plate.
*YAWN* A rather loud yawn is heard from a tired looking Yashima. "G-Good morning Roku-sama." She says politely.
"Good morning Yashima. Did you sleep well?" Roku responds to her with a small smile.
" Not really." She answers hesitantly. "Yahan is a wild sleeper." She says thinking back to how the woman practically pushed her out the bed all night.
"I am sorry to hear that." He says as her pours some miso soup into a bowl. He sits that and a plate down in front of Yashima.
Stars appear in Yashima's eyes as she saw the plate. "Roku-sama, this looks incredible." She tells him picking up chopsticks.
He chuckles ever so slightly at her reaction, "I hope it tastes that way too." He replies before bringing in another plate and bowl. He sits down, but before he picks up his chopsticks, "Um... is there any more?" Yashima speaks up shyly.
Roku looks over to find that Yashima has cleaned the plate and bowl of any traces of food.
"I'm glad you like my cooking." He says with a surprised look on his face. The comment puts a heavy blush on Yashima's face.
Without a word, Roku slides his breakfast over to her.
The gesture shocks Yashima, "R-Roku-sama, I can't take that, you were about to begin eating it!" She protested adamantly.
Roku shakes his head, "You are hungry still, so take it." He says to her.
Yashima just looks at him as if she wanted to cry, "But..." She tries to get another word out but fails to do so.
" I will be fine, please eat." He responds giving her a reassuring smile. "Also please do not cry." He adds on to it.
Yashima stifles a potential sob and gives a nod, before taking the food and eating it.
"What are you being a crybaby about now Yashima?" Yahan says walking into view of Roku.
"Good morning." Roku says before standing up going back into the kitchen.
Yashima finishes the second helping before responding, "I'm just moved by Roku-sama's kindness." She answers.
"What did he do this time, give you some of his height?" She ask facetiously.
Roku returns with a plate of food for Yahan and a bowl of soup. Immediately, Yahan goes for the soup, drinking from it.
Yashima pouts at the verbal jab, "He gave me his breakfast-"
*HRRK!!! KAFF!!! KAFF!!!*
Before she could finish her statement, Yahan begins to choke on the soup in shock of what she said. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" She says once her throat is clear.
Analyzing: ... No errors found.
"Nothing." Roku answers.
"What is that thing you do?" Yashima ask noticing the pattern of Roku's pauses right before speaking or acting.
Roku realizes that he has not explained his circumstances to the two. "From what I've gathered, some form of artificial intelligence has integrated into my body, and now acts as an aid." He says matter of factly. For all his analyzing, he had no clue how to answer the question better.
Yashima and Yahan stare at Roku dumbfounded by his answer. "...what?" Yahan answers confused.
"I will start from my most recent memory." He says in response. With that, he explains what all he knows about himself. Telling them of how he awoke from a capsule with nothing but a tattoo on his arm, and his two scars. He explains how he got to the city and even his encounter with a very friendly bear. He tells them about his daily life all the way up to when he met the two.
The two women let the information sink in; the first to speak was Yashima. "Damn. That's one hell of a story. But if you didn't even have an ID to get work: how did you find a job in the first place?" She asked wanting clarification.
"A man I now call a friend refered me. As he put it, he would receive a bonus for doing so." Roku explains.
"Well that's... fortunate I guess." She says finding the intention of this man to not be as genuine as she thought they would.
"Regardless of his reasons, I am grateful to him for it." He says with a chuckle remembering how the exchange went.
"Where were you living before you got the apartment." Yashima asked this time.
"I lived out in the wilderness." He states. "Being able to survive out there was made easier than most would have it thanks to my enhancements and AI." He follows up.
"Well fate must really be good to you." Yahan speaks up.
"Hm?" Roku can only make a confused sound not understanding what she meant by that.
Yahan snaps her fingers remembering something, "I thought we forgot to mention something. Me and Yashima should be getting our MBI cards today, and our weapons, and extra sets of clothing." She says counting off on her fingers.
"That is good to know... hm, fate you say." He thinks on the mention of fate.
"Do you not believe it to be fate?" Yahan asked curious of his thoughts.
Roku pauses, in deep thought of the question. In reality, what did he believe in. Since he has awoken, thought of intangible concepts have been the last thing on his mind. "I do not know." He answers. "I presume you both believe in fate?" He then ask the girls.
"It is fate that brought us to our Ashikabi." It was Yashima's turn to speak. "What else would have put you in a place to save me from getting forcibly winged." She ask him.
Roku pauses again, "That is a way of looking at, I also believe that answer changes depending on who you ask." He states. Both Sekirei look as if they wanted him to elaborate. "You call it fate, but what of the people who don't believe in fate? Some would say it to be luck." He says to them.
"That's a matter of perspective, everyone believes in something." Yahan says shrugging her shoulders.
Once more Roku pauses, "... Faith in something that cannot be seen. I wonder if that was something I did." He says out loud to himself.
"Do you not believe in anything Roku-sama?" Yashima asked.
"...I do not know. Perhaps before I had something to believe in, but as I am now, it's irrelevant. I am most concerned with understanding my own body." He states looking down at his hand.
"I was meaning to ask you, how did you lift that guy so easy?" Yahan asked reminded of last night.
"The conclusion I've made the conclusion that my limbs contain some sort of cybernetics that augments my strength." He explains almost robotically.
"Cyborg ashikabi, that's pretty hot.~" Yahan says with a lecherous face thinking back to the show of strength.
A sweat drop comes of both Roku and Yashima as they look at her. He continues directing himself at Yashima, "There is also some sort of processer in my brain sending me information as needed."
Yashima nods understanding it. "Is that why you pause sometimes before answering questions?"
Roku nods in confirmation.
"So, strong and built-in computer, but what about the flying?" Yahan chimes back in.
"You can fly?" Yashima ask quickly somewhat excited by this new information.
Roku opens his mouth to speak, "..." he has no answer for it. "I do not have an explanation. The processor does not explain anything about what I can do." He explains to the two.
The two acknowledge this, understanding some more about their ashikabi. Yahan thinks about this information pondering on what she has heard. A thought comes to mind. "I may know know someone willing to help." She speaks up.
Roku looks to her, "Really, who?"
Yahan smirks.
Shinto Teito: East Side In some cafe
ACHOO!* A woman let's out an ever so sudden sneeze. Turning her head away from her laptop to avoid any residue hitting it.
"Odd, the news said there would be no pollen in the air." She says to herself facing back to her computer.
She begins to type again and mutters out her words as she does.
"Another day goes by and I have yet to feel a reaction. Since being released, 10% of us have been winged. Of that percentage, the lowest numbers to be winged were #4, #11 and #12. At the rate of wingings for lower numbers, I calculate it would potentially take another two weeks before I find a mate. To wait that long would be illogical. Consideration has gone into finding other methods of finding an ashikabi. I was approached earlier by a business man claiming to know of my kind. He offered a proposition, my skills and area of expertise, for him to be my ashikabi. Along with a wage and an alliance. The offer was tempting... but I am hesitant. To accept this offer would be logical, but the lack of reaction keeps me from moving on this. I was given 48 hours to decide. If I do not find a Ashikabi before then, I will do what significantly increases my likelihood of survival.
K-22
As she finishes her entry, she lets out a sigh. She removes her glasses and pinches the bridge of her nose as she tries her best to de-stress.
She looks out into the bustling sidewalk and street taking in the environment. She listens to various noises. The constant chatter of people, the cars driving by, various white noises. It was... annoying."I need silence." She states to herself. The woman stands and closes her laptop, she exits the cafe and begins to walk.
*Ring Ring Ring*
"Tch." The sound of her cellphone going off was enough to annoy her just a bit more after her desire for quiet.
She looks at the caller ID to see who exactly is calling her, she instead only finds the word "Private Caller".
She lets it ring as she hesitantly thinks about answering. On one hand she doesn't feel like talking. on the other, her curiosity was taking over.
With a reluctant sigh, she answers. "Hello." She says sternly.
*Kochou! So good to h- BEEEEEP*
Without delay the now named Kochou hangs up the phone knowing the voice on the other end.
*Ring Ring*
Before the third ring, Kochou hits the ignore button.
*Ring Ring*
Ignore.
*Ring Ring*
Ignore.
*Ring Ring*
IGNORE.
*RING RING*
IGNORE!
*RING!*
IG-
*RING!*
NORE!!!
... RING*
In a fit of frustration Kochou caves and answers once again, "YAHAN, I thought we were clear you would never call again!" She finishes saying through her teeth as not to make a scene.
*Come on Kochou I said I was sorry!* Yahan says in a pleading voice.
"To hell with your sorry! Two years I collected that data. Two years! Gone because you made a portal right on top of it!" Anger built back up within Kochou thinking back on "The Incident".
I didn't mean to!* She pleads to the woman.
"Maybe not, but I will mean to change my number." She states as she moves to hang up her phone again.
*Wait! I think I have something that will make it up to you.* She says quickly hoping to get her from hanging up again.
It is successful as curiosity strikes Kochou again, "... I have my doubts to your statement, but I also can't stand not knowing." She says sternly to her.
*Well, what do you know about cyborgs?* Yahan ask her.
"... Not enough." She says after taking a moment to think about the question. Thinking on it, she remembers peeking at a cybernetics file in the MBI database. But it was very little, and was placed in the potential project category.
*Well lucky you, I know one. And we need a favor.*
"I can conclude that you want me to see what I can learn from your cyborg, and give you what information I gather from it." Kochou states being able to piece together what she's looking for.
*...Yeah pretty much.* Yahan answers.
As intrigued as Kochou was, she didn't do favors for free, especially to Yahan. "What do I get out of this?" She asked.
Yahan quickly has an answer for her, *Well I know you like to learn things, and you like to have one up on #2. And I know for a fact that #2 knows nothing about cyborgs.~* She tells her with a bit of mischief knowing what Kochou likes more than anything.
It was a tempting offer, a very tempting offer, but she had other things bigger than being better than #2 for once.
*Are you winged yet? If not, you could possibly have a reaction to this guy.*
And like that, Kochou was sold. " *Sigh* Fine you have my attention. I will send you coordinates to a lab. Be there in one hour." She tells Yahan in a commanding tone. Deep down however she was rather excited, hopeful even. She didn't know why, but this felt different.
She walks off towards the location.
Behind her, peeking from around the corner, a man in a business suit follws from a distance.
Shinto Teito: Kochou's Lab East Side
Shutter doors raise revealing the owner of the building.
Now in the lab, Kochou presses buttons on her phone and powers up all the technology in the vicinity. Computers, lights, tables automatically coming up from the floor with tools on them.
As she sets up everything, a shiver just over takes her. She couldn't help but watch her hand shake. Ever since she got off the phone with Yahan, her heart had been beating quickly. The feeling was rather unsettling, never before had she felt a way about someone. It only boggled her mind more knowing she doesn't even know the person.
*BOOM BOOM*
She jumps nearly out of her skin scared by the banging of the shutter door. Tapping on her phone again she causes the doors to raise.
Kochou could feel her heart beating faster as more of this mystery man was being revealed.
Slowly the door rose further and further upward revealing his powerful build. Kochou felt the room warm up as his mid section was showing.
The door continued to raise slowly, making it to his chest. Her breathing became stifled seeing how broad and well built it was.
As the door slowly crawled upward, Kochou shivered in anticipation to see his face. Slower and slower the door seemed to move. Almost too slow actually.
*SCREEEEECH!!! GRIIIIIINNNND!!!*
In reality it was moving slower and it grinded to a mood killing stop. "Geh..." Was the only sound she could release as she became angry.
"Of all the times for a mechanical error to occur; why now?!?!" She says furiously typing on her phone hoping to fix the issue.
*SNAP!*KLANG*
The sudden noise came from above her, and falling down right in front, was the chain of the shutter doors motor.
She was left visibly stunned by this turn of events. To be so close, only for fate to step in and show some of her cruelty.
Kochou was in a bit of a panic, frantically looking around her lab for some sort of alternative for the now broken chain. So caught up in it, she did not notice a dark portal open up in a shaded corner of the lab.
Stepping out of it was it's creator, and close behind was Yashima. Quietly the two walk towards the still searching Kochou.
Once they were close enough, "We let ourselves in." Yahan says right over Kochou's shoulder.
For the second time today, she nearly jumped out of her skin. This time worse as an audible yelp was heard.
"Hahaha!" Yahan hunches over in stiches at her little jump scare. Even Yashima couldn't help a giggle from escaping her.
Kochou didn't find the humor in this however, "Why are you sneaking up on me?!" She finally says after finding her bearings.
"*giggle* Because it's always funny. She says wiping a tear from her eye.
"We also heard loud noises coming from inside. We just wanted to make sure you were okay." Yashima says right after, letting Kochou know the most important reason.
Adjusting her glasses she answers them, "I am far from okay! The chain of the garage door has just snapped, moments before meeting this mystery Ashikabi! I'm becoming a nervous wreck before I've even seen his face. And I've just realized I'm going to have to pay extra on this months rent for this!" Kochou finished with her head in both hands.
Yahan gives a comforting pat on the back to Kochou in hopes of easing the frustration.
"Roku-sama may have a solution for you." Yashima says.
"Oh yeah! This'll be a great way to show you what your dealing with. Hey Roku! Come in here, this garage door needs fixing!" Yahan shouts out.
Without delay the door rises again, this time showing the rest of Roku's body and his face to the new Sekirei.
From Kochou's point of view: she saw this tall, bulky, imposing mass. Wearing an outfit in all dark grey. A plain long sleeve shirt that did nothing to hide his true physique. Pants that seemed to be tight in all the right places. And a pair of match black sneakers.
She then looked upon his face. It held such a stern look, yet his eyes seemed so welcoming. A mess of firey red haired contrasted the look. He tried to be so simple and unassuming, but that is what made him complex in her mind. She would need further analysis of this intriguing specimen.
"I do not have experience in garage door repair." Roku says plainly walking through the threshold before putting the door back down.
"...A-Anything you can do will help." She says snapping out of her stare.
Roku gives a nod before walking up to and grabbing the broken chain. He then floats upward to the chains original resting place.
Scanning... Scan Complete!
Once the analysis was finished, Roku wrapped the chain around as it looked to fit in before breaking. Once set into place, he holds the two ends together the ends making contact with each other.
*Fsssssz* His eyes glow a luminous blue color and suddenly, light rays shoot from them, making contact with the chain. The two pieces slowly tuned into one whole again as they melted together.
All the while the women look in an astounding manner at Roku, Kochou the most, after seeing a man defy the laws of gravity. Even more so when lasers came right after.
"Hmm, optical enery rays and flight. Nothing that directly pertains to cybernetic." She says astutely.
Yahan turns her head to look at Kochou, "Are you kidding, there's no normal human that can do this." She says annoyed by the cynicism.
Kochou replies while adjusting her glasses, "Exactly my point, he is doing things that no normal human is able to do. I have yet to see anything that would suggest cybernetics are at play."
Yahan can only roll her eyes at Kochou, "Ugh, it's not like we're here to show him by repairing your shit anyways.
Roku comes back down and chimes in, "We are here because I was told you were skilled in many facets of technology." Looking right at the woman he gives a small smile to her.
This causes a blush to appear on her face. Quickly though, she collects herself, and responds, "Yes well... You would be correct." Still somewhat flustered, Kochou extends her hand out for a proper introduction. "No.22 Kochou."
Roku responds im kind giving No.22 a firm grip, "Juu Roku, it's a pleasure to meet you." He states politely.
Kochou could not respond though, as the handshake was far too electrifying. This feeling she felt from this man was nothing short of a shot of adrenaline straight to her heart. This reaction was almost too powerful to deny now... Almost.
Reluctantly pulling herself off from him she directs him over to operating table of some sort. "Let's check you out shall we." She says to him in a low tone.
Roku nods and heads over to the table where he has a seat.
Kochou walks over to her computer typing for a few seconds, before grabbing some goggles. "Remove your shirt." She says as the lights go out. Her goggles glow a luminescent green in color.
Roku follows the request and removes the article of clothing.
"Mmm if I knew it was that easy I'd have told you to do that last night~." Yahan states with a lechours, getting an eye full of Roku's muscular torso.
Yashima groans upset that she's missing out. "No fair Yahan!" Wishing she could see in the dark too.
"I need silence." Was all Kochou said as she adjusted the goggles. Once her vision was clear in them, the sight before her was... indescribable.
What she saw, was technology advanced far beyond anything she had ever seen.
In his skeletal system there was some sort of anomaly. A long strip of silver colored metal going down his spine. Going around to his back, she gets a better look at it. Rather than simply going down his spine, the metal looks to be laced within! It glowed blue and seemed too pulsate in time with his heart beat.
"Astounding!" Kochou couldn't help but exclaim out loud. Tapping on the side of her goggles, clicking noises could be heard, followed by a brief flash. She snaps a shot over it's entirety, coming to the top where finds a break in the pattern. Roku's top vertebrae looked to have been severed at one point. Rather then the metal laced within the spine, this particular inch and a half was pure metal. This piece looks to be bridging his top vertebrae to the rest below.
She once again pushes on her goggles and the skeletal system becomes the muscular system. It was here she saw more of this metal spread out amongst his joints and tendons. She looked over every section of muscle seeing how it intertwined with the the muscle fiber. She snapped more photos before changing the vision again, this time to the nervous system.
Most everything seemed normal, until seeing a piece of the brain. Where the cerebellum is supposed to be, there was some sort of artificial version of it, latched onto it was a microprocessor.
"You are indeed a fascinating specimen." Kochou says walking back over to her desk. She presses a few keys and takes off her goggles.
The lights come back on, much to Yashima's approval, making the room visible again. The screen to her computer also comes on revealing the photos she took of Roku's body.
"I've never seen anything quite like you. You were initially described to me as a cybernetic organism, but the most advanced versions of people like you only have limb replacements. You however, are leaps and bounds past that!" She explains excited to him.
Her face seems to become brighter and brighter as she explains each picture she took. Yashima was lost as Kochou used to much jargon to make sense of it. While Yahan rolled her eyes at the nerdgasm she was witnessing. Roku however, listened attentively, and was pleased to be able to learn about himself.
"This isn't even half of it. The data and information I'll be going through is off of this alone it'll... it'll take...*shiver* " She was unable to think correctly as her reaction was becoming too strong to hold back.
Looking towards Roku, the desire in her only grew. She couldn't take it anymore, she would have him.
Quickly she closes the distance between them, removing her glasses, she pushes her lips against his own. From her back smokey grey wings emerge. "By the knowledge of my pledge. Let all secrets be revealed to my ashikabi." Once her pledge was done the wings fade and she looks at her new Ashikabi. What she saw was rather off-putting.
The details of Roku's face became casted in a shadow, and from what could be seen, it wore a look of grim despair.
"Have I done something wrong?" Kochou ask worried by the reaction.
"Not directly, I think he hasn't fully grasped the situation yet." Yahan says walking up to him.
Putting a hand on his bare shoulder, "Mmm~, congratulations handsome! Got yourself a pretty great addition to the flock, and a way to get to the bottom of who you are. I say things are looking up for you!" Yahan says happy her Ashikabi having things work out for him.
Unfortunately, this as far up as things will look for now.
*SKRAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!*
An endless hail of bullets ripped through the shutter door at a pace too quick to see. All of them on an unobstructed path to Roku.
Barely catching a glimpse of the sudden attack, and the results of it's destruction, of the corner of his eye. He needed to act.
ALERT! ALERT!
Engaging Sandevistan !
The world slowed down to a near halt. The only sound he could hear was his heart pounding, so powerful, it was reverberating through out his body. The beating quickly increased in tempo.
Not knowing how long this would last, Roku first moved Kochou out of the way, laying her on the floor. He proceeded to do the same with Yahan. His heart was now beating at a rapid pace. So rapid, the beats were starting to become a singular constant sound.
Looking over, he sees Yashima is already on the floor, hands on her head doing her best to stay out of the line of fire.
"Good." Was all Roku could say knowing the three women are safe.
Disengaging!
The bullets hit him with full force in his chest ripping through his body with no effort.
"ROKU-SAMA!!!!" Yashima yells horrified watching as her Ashikabi is mangled by the gunfire.
As if on cue, the firing stopped, and silence.
...
"Heheheheh HAHAHAHA!" A maniacal laughing was heard from outside. All three Sekirei looked towards the source, each with a different reaction.
Yashima was trembling in fear.
Yahan's eyes were filled with rage.
Kochou however turned to Roku and had a face of perplexity.
Roku was still standing, but that wasn't the part that was shocking her. The bullet holes were closing, and it looked like something was moving under his skin.
*Creeeeaaaak*
Her attention was brought back to her door as the shutter was being pulled apart. "HAHAHAHA!" All the while, that maniacal laughing continued.
Once it was enough of the shutter pulled apart, the assailant walked through. He was muscular man in white camouflage pants, sporting kneepads and a pouch strapped to his thigh. He was shirtless, revealing the Roman numeral for "1" tattooed on the center of his chest. He also wore a green jacket, with the left sleeve completely gone, showing off a black and red cybernetic arm. His hair was and off-white and slicked back, and his face remained mostly covered by a bandana with a fanged skull on it.
"Heheheheh. So you actually managed to live through that." For the first time the assailant spoke. His voiced oozing a sadistic glee.
Roku remains silent scowling at the man.
"Ah, now that's a look I haven't seen in forever, I forgot how much it pissed me off." The masked man says walking up to Roku.
"Who are you?" Was all Roku had to say to him.
"What's the point of telling you. Your about to die anyway! Hmhmhmhm HEHEHEH" Once again he laughs.
"HAHAHA -!!!" His laugh however was cut short. As Roku had his hand on the masked mans shoulder.
"I have my doubts to that statement." Roku retorts while squeezing on the shoulder.
Crack*
This did not seem to bother the assailant in the slightest. It did however, only serve to make him more sadistic, " Now we're talking!" He says before throwing a punch. It was quickly caught and in response.
"You have caused enough damage. We're going out side." And without another word, *POW* Roku headbutts him! Sending him back out of the self-made entrance.
Since his awakening, Roku has been rather even tempered. Nothing could put him into a BAD mood. Sad or down? Only once. But bad? Not that he could remember. Even his greedy land lord has never illicit this kind of feeling from him. But that split second when he saw his Sekirei in danger, the looks on their faces when he was shot, and that damn laughing.
It brought out a new feeling inside Roku. Violence.
End.
Another chapter done finally. Thank you all those that are following. This chapter felt very slow to me so hopefully I gave everyone something to look forward to next chapter.
Also in doing my research on Kochou, I learned there was no norito that she had chanted. Given that Matsu is her rival. I decided to make hers a foil to that of Matsu.
Matsu is the Sekirei of Wisdom. So Kochou would be the Sekirei of Knowledge.
One always trying to understand, the other always trying to learn.
Had someone in the comments ask about the flock.
