In Adrien's house...
Adrien laid on his bed as Plagg ate more of his camembert. He scrolled through his phone, looking for Marinette's phone number. With Ladybug being busy with the heroes in training, he felt like he had to talk to someone about his father. After what he'd gone through with Marinette awhile ago, he never got the chance to say how much it meant to him.
She surprised him. Now that he started losing romantic feelings towards Ladybug, he realized that his feelings for Marinette were growing. And the more he spent time with Ladybug, he missed her even more. School was tomorrow, and he was so excited to see her in the morning.
But he couldn't wait any longer.
"You're going to call Marinette?" Plagg said, noticing the Contact I.D. "U-Uh, she might be busy."
"I'm sorry, Plagg, but I have to talk to her," Adrien told him as he pressed on the dial button.
The phone started ringing. Ringing some more.
"Come on..."
"Hi, this is Marinette's phone. Leave your message after the beep... BEEP!"
Adrien stumbled a little when he heard it go to voicemail, but he went for it anyway.
"U-Uh, hey Marinette. It's me, Adrien. I wanted to talk to you about what happened about a week ago. I just can't stop thinking about it. When I told you I kind of... like you. Please, let me know when you get this message, okay. Bye."
Adrien finally hung up and clung to his phone as if that was the hardest thing he'd ever done.
"Why are you so hung up about this? You loved Ladybug and flirted with her like crazy, like me and this camembert... But now that you've fallen for Marinette, you're stumbling over what to do around her? What's up with that?" Plagg asked him, floating in his face.
"I don't know, Plagg. I just miss her," Adrien tried to explain, "I haven't seen her in awhile. And she's been there for me, maybe even more than Ladybug ever could be."
"Wow, you've fallen hard. Oh well, better get back to my cheese."
"Oh Plagg..."
As he laid on his bed thinking about Marinette, he soon found himself drifting off to sleep.
"I miss you, Marinette..."
Then, something woke him up. He didn't know how long he'd fallen asleep, but he swore he heard something coming from outside his bedroom. He looked over at Plagg and found him asleep on his pillow. He slowly got up from his bed and headed downstairs towards his father's office. And then another crash.
"Father?"
He peeked into his office and saw his father scratching at his arm as he worked on something. Soon enough, he lifted his sleeve to find his arm looking rather bruised from a distance. But it wasn't purple, it was more black if anything.
And there it was again. He had hit his computer again because of the pain in his arm.
Adrien had never seen a mark like that on his arm before.
Then, something about what Mr. Aizawa and Ladybug said suddenly dawned on him.
And the cataclysm on Monarch awhile ago.
He recognized it.
Adrien snuck away before his father could hear him and ran into his bedroom.
Then, he rummaged through some things in his desk and soon found what he was looking for.
A weird monocle device.
Adrien had found it around the time Felix had come by. It's possible he had left it behind by accident.
But, Felix doesn't leave things behind by accident.
He left it for Adrien to find.
Whatever it was, he soon found himself pressing the button to turn it on. He looked into it, watching a video that was recorded. He soon heard Felix's voice in the recording. He had opened the safe behind the portrait and there it was.
The Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous.
Ladybug and Mr. Aizawa were right all along.
His father is HawkMoth, no... he's Monarch.
Adrien threw the monocle device into the drawer of his desk and didn't dare to look at the rest.
"Adrien, what's wrong?" Plagg asked him with sleepy eyes.
"Plagg, we have to leave. Now! Plagg, Claws Out!"
As Cat Noir, he leapt out of his bedroom window and just kept running. He didn't know where to go, but he just had to get out of there as soon as possible.
In Marinette's house...
The sun was finally starting to set, and Marinette had gotten everyone blankets and pillows to sleep on the floor. She offered one of the girls her bed, but they refused.
Mr. Aizawa even told her that this was weird, and they'd have to find another place to stay soon.
Midoriya laid on the lounge chair in Marinette's bedroom, still sweating. Class 1-A ate some of the sandwiches and macarons that Marinette brought up. She even put on the Miraculous Ladybug and Cat Noir movie that everyone got a good chuckle out of.
Uraraka stayed by Midoriya's side the entire time, just ringing out the face cloth over and over again.
"Marinette, his sweating won't let up," Uraraka told her.
Marinette walked over to her and checked on him. His temperature wasn't letting up, and the sweating still hadn't gone down much.
"He was using his quirk while he was stung," Marinette explained, "That might've taken a toll on him."
"Stupid Deku," Bakugo groaned as he leaned on his pillow.
"You know, you could nicer to him," Kirishima told his friend, sitting beside him, "He's helped us a lot in class."
"Really?" Marinette asked curiously, "Like what?"
"Well, he helped save Mr. Aizawa from a villain attack when we first started at U.A.," Kirishima told her.
"Wow, really? That soon?"
"Yeah, he even showed me a better way to use my quirk during the Sports Festival," Todoroki told her as he played with a flame in the palm of his hand.
Even though Marinette didn't know what the Sports Festival was, it sounded really cool.
"Oui! Me and him became really good friends mademoiselle, " Aoyama told her with more pizzazz, "Our quirks are quite similar actually."
"Oh yeah!" Marinette exclaimed to him, "You were going to show me your quirk. What is it?"
"Well, I'd rather not show you in here," Aoyama told her as he adjusted his belt, "But, my quirk is Navel Laser. I wear this belt because if I don't, it would just keep leaking out. It'd be dangerous to be around everyone."
Marinette definitely wasn't expecting that to come out of his mouth.
"I'm sorry, but how is that similar to Midoriya's quirk?" Ashido asked him as she laid next to Jirou.
"Excuse moi, but me and him have a quirk that hurts our bodies if we use it too much," He told them, surprisingly upset.
Everyone was actually surprised by his outburst. They'd never seen him speak up like this before. Ever.
"I'm sorry. That was meant to be something between only me and him," He told them as he wrapped himself in a blanket.
Sato, who was sitting beside him, patted his back.
"Midoriya actually saved this concert that we performed at the School Festival," Jirou told her.
"Yeah," Ashido said, "We didn't hear about it until later that he saved it."
"He saved a little girl from a villain and made her a candy apple there as well," Sato told her with a subtle blush, "I actually helped out a bit."
"Midoriya was suppose to be the Class Rep., but he gave it to me instead because he thought I'd be a better leader than him," Iida told her as he looked back at his best friend.
"Wow, that's really cool of him," Marinette said back to him, and then noticed Uraraka taking care of him, "What about you Uraraka?"
"Huh?"
"I'm sure you have plenty of things to share about Deku."
Uraraka's face looked ten times redder than a few seconds ago and avoided eye contact with Ashido.
"Um... Well, back during the Entrance Exams is where we first met... He... well, he... saved me from a giant robot," Uraraka told her.
"A giant robot?! During the Entrance Exams to U.A.?!" Marinette cried out, "Wow, must be some school to get into."
"Ye-Yeah..." Uraraka trailed off and went back to taking care of him, "He's a great guy. He's saved me even though he could've went to go get more points to enter U.A. That's just the kind of guy he is."
Marinette smiled as Uraraka washed him gently wash his face with the cloth.
Even Mr. Aizawa liked seeing his class taking care of one of his students without having to tell them what to do. It made him miss the rest of them back home.
"What about you, Bakugo? Did you think of anything nice to say about him?" Kirishima asked, daring to nudge at his chest with his elbow.
Everyone stared at the explosive student, ready for some kind of answer from him. Marinette didn't know what to expect from him, that's for sure.
Silence.
"Fine. He... might've saved me from a sludge villain way before we entered U.A.," Bakugo finally told her and pretty much everyone in the room.
"Wait a minute, you two knew each other before U.A.?" Marinette asked.
"Yeah, we've known each other since preschool," He grumbled, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"But, you two don't even seem like friends to me."
"Well, we were okay Insect?!"
"Okay..."
Marinette decided to back off and grabbed the empty tray of sandwiches and macarons.
"I'll be right back, Uraraka. I'll check to see if we have anything to bring his fever down."
"Okay. Thank you, Marinette," Uraraka said with a subtle smile.
Marinette headed down to the kitchen with the tray and went straight for the sink. Luckily, her parents were still closing up the Bakery Shop. As she cleaned it up, she was surprised to learn so much about Midoriya tonight. He really was meant to be a hero. She was excited to start training again soon with them.
Another great chapter! I liked Marinette finding out more stuff about Midoriya. I thought that this was a great way to end their first mission, and waiting for Midoriya to wake up.
More coming soon!
