Hello everyone I'm back; sorry for the 3 weeks pause I was on vacation in the sticks and had no internet. But I'm back and here to give you all another chapter; now with nothing else to say let's begin.
Virtue and Venom: Chapter 34
Konoha; Yamanaka compound at night: With Naruto and Ino
Naruto and Ino were both sleeping in bed with Ino laying her head on Naruto's chest; the quiet and cool night made it a relaxing atmosphere and made their sleep perfect.
Suddenly the door was kicked open making both Naruto and Ino wake up with a start "gah burgler" Naruto shouted as he grabbed one of his trench knives.
"Naruto stop it's me" Inoichi said holding his hands up.
"What the hell dad" Ino shouted "we weren't doing anything wrong" she said angered as her father broke her door.
"No, it's not that" Inoichi said "Naruto, Ino; Shizune came by, you 2 need to go to the hokage tower now" he said gaining their attentions. "Something bad has happened; I don't know what happened but it's urgent" Inoichi said.
Both Naruto and Ino hopped out of bed and began to go through their drawers and changing their cloths; Naruto took off his t-shirt and put on his muscle shirt "damn it; I've only been back for 2 days and now things start happening" he said.
"If Shizune came by it must be important" Ino said taking off her purple shorts and putting on her leggings "I have a bad feeling about this" she said.
With Kakashi and Anko
Both Kakashi and Anko were rushing to the Uchiha district to get Sasuke and Mamushi; they were both woken up by an anbu and told to gather their team.
"We need to hurry" Kakashi said to Anko "there is no telling how bad the situation is" he said and Anko nodded.
"Right" Anko said "up here on the left" Anko said as the skidded around the corner and ran up to the door of the Uchiha manner. Anko began to bang on the door at a rapid pace "Mamushi! Mamushi! Mamushi! Wake your ass up" Anko shouted as she banged on the door.
Suddenly the door opened up and a panting and sweating Mamushi opened it; only her head was visible and her long black hair was in a wild mess "Oh… hey... what's up" Mamushi said panting.
Anko and Kakashi were both looking at her wide eyed "Uh… be at the hokage tower in 10 minutes" Anko said before trying to look inside "um… and bring Sasuke to" she said and Mamushi nodded.
"Copy" Mamushi said as she closed the door; both Kakashi and Anko turned around and began to run to the tower.
"Were they just…" Kakashi began and Anko nodded.
"I think they were" Anko said.
With Sasuke and Mamushi
Sasuke was lying in his bed naked, sweaty and exhausted from 'spending time' with Mamushi; Sasuke was panting as he took a sip of water from the cup on his night stand.
'Kami above; I feel more tired after this than I do after training' Sasuke thought; Mamushi then ran back into the room completely naked and wide eyed.
"Babe, get up we have a mission" Mamushi shouted as she ran over and grabbed Sasuke's ankle; Mamushi pulled him out of bed and began to drag him along the floor "it's an emergency; lets go" she said as she began to run down the hallway dragging her boyfriend. Sasuke then grabbed a door frame and held himself in place
"Wait; we're still naked damn it" Sasuke shouted "let's get dressed first" he begged.
Hokage tower: 10 minutes later
Naruto, Ino, Sasuke, Mamushi, Kakashi, Anko and Sai were all standing in front of Tsunade who had a serious expression on her face.
"I called you all here for an emergency S-class mission" Tsunade said making everyone stand on edge "as of 2 hours ago Suna was attacked by the Akatsuki and require our assistance" she said. Naruto felt his blood run cold at this.
'Gaara' Naruto thought as he realized what has happened.
"We have received confirmation that the Kazekage Gaara has been taken" Tsunade said making both Naruto and Mamushi clench their fists "they want Shukaku that lies within Gaara; but for what we don't know" she said. "So, your mission is to go to Suna and track down Gaara and bring him back alive" Tsunade said.
"Yes mam" they all shouted and Tsunade nodded.
"Very well; but there is another issue" Tsunade said "neither of your teams have a tracker" Tsunade said. "Before you leave you must- "Tsunade began but Mamushi raised her hand "Yeah Mamushi" she said.
"I know who to get" Mamushi said.
Hyuga compound
"Let go of me" Hanabi shouted as she tried to walk but Mamushi was holding onto her foot "I'm not going" she said.
"Buuuut you haaaave to heeeelp" Mamushi whined making Naruto and the others sweat drop.
"No way you psycho" Hanabi said trying to pry her off "I wouldn't help you even if- "she began.
"What is going on here" Hiashi said walking out; Mamushi let go and ran up to him.
"Mr. Hiashi, I need Hanabi for a mission; but she's being a meanie" Mamushi said and Hanabi snapped her head to her.
"Why would I help you after what happened last month" Hanabi said and Naruto got a curious look.
"What happen last month" Naruto asked.
*Flashback: 1 month prior
Hanabi and her team were walking to the gates of Konoha from a mission outside the village; as she approached, she saw Mamushi standing guard in the shack.
'Oh, great it's her' Hanabi thought 'she's like an overdue credit card bill; always coming back to bite me in the ass' she thought. Hanabi and her team approached the gates and Mamushi smiled.
"Hello, welcome back to Konoha" Mamushi said with a bright smile "ID's please" she said; Hanabi and her team all handed their ID's and Mamushi scanned them. All of the IDs scanned green until Hanabi's scanned red "uh oh" Mamushi said.
"What's the problem" Hanabi asked impatient; Mamushi scanned again and it scanned red.
"Your ID isn't scanning properly" Mamushi said as she popped open her hand book on what to do "ok then looks like we need to do a full screening process" Mamushi said as she closed her book. "Anbu" Mamushi shouted; 2 anbu jumped down and grabbed Hanabi by her arms "we need a full body and cavity check; we also need, blood, stool, saliva and urine samples" she said making Hanabi go wide eyed.
"What, no; you've know me for years Mamushi" Hanabi said as she began to struggle.
"Sorry, rules are rules; blame Orochimaru for the increase in screening" Mamushi said before looking at the 2 anbu "check for seals, drugs, and other illegal paraphernalia" she said and both nodded.
"Yes mam" one anbu said "let's go girlie" he said as he began to drag her away into a dark and decrepit looking shed.
*Flashback end
"And to make matters worse she was the one who… checked me" Hanabi said blushing and clenching her fists.
"People hide drugs up their butts all the time; how was I suppose to know you didn't have any" Mamushi said "I checked to make sure this village is safe and drug free; I back the blue" Mamushi said bringing out her 'back the blue' coin.
"Hanabi" Hiashi said sternly making her look at him "Mamushi was only doing her job and you have no right to turn down helping her" he said making Hanabi's jaw drop.
"But Father- "Hanabi said but Hiashi cut her off.
"Hanabi! You will go with them; is that clear" Hiashi said and Hanabi hung her head.
"Yes; sir" Hanabi said.
"Yay; your coming" Mamushi said hugging Hanabi "see guys, I got her" Mamushi said.
"I hate you" Hanabi said.
"I love you too" Mamushi said giving her a kiss on the forehead which Hanabi began to wipe off.
"I don't even know what to think of this" Sasuke said.
"Poor Hanabi" Ino said.
"Haha; you had someone look up your butt" Naruto said laughing at Hanabi; Ino then slapped him on the back of the head making him grumble.
"Ok we wasted enough time; lets go" Kakashi said and they all began to move out.
Konoha forest
Team Kakashi, Team Anko and Hanabi were all running west to Suna at the fastest pace they could go; as they did the sun began to rise as a new dawn came.
"It'll take us 3 days to get to Suna" Kakashi said as he led the group "keep at a steady pace and don't fall behind" he said. "Hanabi use your Byakugan to scout around to ensure we do not have any followers" Kakashi said and Hanabi nodded.
"Yes, Kakashi sensei" Hanabi said as she activated her Byakugan and began to scan around.
"Naruto, Sasuke, Mamushi; you are our heavy hitters" Kakashi said and all 3 nodded "when we engage the enemy you 3 will take on one, while me, Anko and Sai take the other" he said. "Ino and Hanabi will act as reinforcements and the medical team" Kakashi said "no offense but, Hanabi is still too green and Ino isn't a combat type" he said.
"Understood" Hanabi said.
"Yes, Kakashi sensei" Ino said.
"I can't wait to see action again" Sasuke said catching Naruto's attention "I want to show you that even with your training I'm still better than you" he said smirking and making Naruto growl.
"Get real bastard" Naruto said pointing at him with a tic mark "I could kick your ass then and I can kick it now" he said and Sasuke chuckled.
"We'll see loser" Sasuke said; suddenly Mamushi grabbed Sasuke by the ear and pulled.
"Sasuke be nice to Naruto" Mamushi chastised while puffing her cheeks.
"Ok, ok, oww, let me go" Sasuke said and Naruto chuckled.
'Heh, asshole' Naruto thought until Ino grabbed him by the ear and pulled "ow, Ino let go" Naruto said and Ino shook her head.
"Naruto we are on a mission to save Gaara; not for the 2 of you to have a dick measuring contest" Ino said "focus" she said.
"Ok fine" Naruto said; both Ino and Mamushi let their boyfriends go and both Naruto and Sasuke began to grumble.
"They really do keep them on leashes" Sai said running along side Kakashi and Anko "is that how relationships are supposed to be" he asked.
"Nah; if anything Kakashi keeps me on a leash" Anko said with a smirk "and hand cuffs, and chains" she said making Kakashi roll his eyes.
"The things I do for love" Kakashi said before Anko punched him on the arm; Hanabi hearing this shuddered.
'Eww' Hanabi thought.
3 Days later: Suna walls; With Temari, Tayuya and Hinata
Hinata was using her Byakugan scouting in the desert for any other hostiles; the past 3 days have been especially hard for her. Hinata was unable to go after the Akatsuki with Temari and Tayuya due to a shortage of able body Shinobi.
Out of 600 ninja 30 were killed and 3 times that were wounded; so only 480 were fully operational. And of that only 200 were combat types with the rest being medical, support or logistics; not all were in Suna and every one was needed to defend the village.
"This is bullshit" Tayuya said looking around "we should be out there looking for Gaara; not sitting around with our thumbs up our asses" she said and Temari put her hand on her shoulder.
"Calm down" Temari said "we sent word to Konoha so they can help us; they should be here soon" she said and Tayuya groaned.
"Fine" Tayuya said "hey princess; do you see fuck all out there" she said to Hinata who continued to scan around; Hinata then went wide eyed.
"Yes, over there" Hinata said pointing east; Tayuya and Temari both snapped their heads and saw in the far distance 8 figures "I think that's them" Hinata said as she felt hope.
Temari clicked her radio and spoke "This is Temari; 8 unknowns coming from the east" she said.
"Copy that" came a voice on the radio.
10 minutes later
Naruto and his team approached the gates of Suna breathing heavily since they ran for 3 days and 2 nights.
"Holy shit" Naruto huffed "I haven't run that much since chasing after Sasuke" Naruto said and Ino nodded.
"Oh god I think I'm gonna hurl" Ino said holding her hand to her mouth.
"Water" Hanabi said as she tools out her canteen and drank from it "oh god; I'm seeing different colors.
"Hey why are you all so tired" Mamushi said; everyone looked at her and saw her breathing slightly harder than usual "I mean it wasn't that far" she said.
"Maybe for you, you freak of nature" Hanabi said coughing "we don't have your endurance" she said and Mamushi brushed it off.
"Bah excuses" Mamushi said and everyone got tic marks.
"You're here" came a shout; everyone turned and saw Hinata, Temari and Tayuya run towards them "Mamushi, Hanabi" she said with a smile.
"Elder- "Hanabi began until the was pushed to the ground face first by Mamushi.
"Hina; I missed you so much" Mamushi shouted as she ran up and bear hugged Hinata; Hanabi spitting up sand looked on with anger.
'I hate you so much' Hanabi thought.
"Sup blondie" Tayuya said as she walked up to Ino who smiled "damn you look great" Tayuya said looking her over with a smirk. Ino blushed.
"Oh stop; I know" Ino said blushing from the complement.
"Hey back off Flute lady" Naruto said standing in front of Ino "Ino is my woman" he said.
"You want your ass kicked whiskers" Tayuya said.
"Bring it" Naruto said ready to throw down.
"Hey! My brother was kidnapped by terrorists" Temari said getting everyone back on track.
"Ok what do you got" Kakashi said as he regained his breath and Temari began to speak.
"2 Akatsuki; one is Sasori of Suna while the other is an unknown Taki ninja" Temari began "it looked like they were heading north towards the Land of Stone in between Suna and Iwa" she said and Kakashi nodded. "Last sighting was by a scouting hawk before it died by a poisoned needle" Temari said "they were 6 hours away from the border" she said.
"Ok so we still have time" Anko said "can you take us to the area they were last seen" she asked and Temari nodded.
"Yes, we will have elder Chiyo show you the way" Temari said as she turned around "good there she- "Temari began.
"You" Chiyo shouted as she rushed forward with a kunai; Chiyo slashed at Kakashi who ducked back to avoid the blade "you will pay for what you did white fang" she said.
"Wait" Kakashi said in a panic.
"Hey old hag" Naruto said taking out his trench knives and locking blades with Chiyo "don't attack Kakashi sensei" he said in a warning tone.
"I'd listen to him" Sasuke said activating his Sharingan "or else we'll have to get another guide" he said.
"Huh Kakashi" Chiyo said looking at the masked ninja "You're not Sakumo Hatake" she said and Kakashi nodded quickly.
"He's my father… and dead… for years" Kakashi said; Chiyo then laughed as she put away her kunai.
"Oh sorry; I thought you were your father" Chiyo laughed "he killed my son; sorry for scaring you" she said making everyone except Mamushi sweat drop.
"Wow you move fast for an old lady" Mamushi said "hey old lady, can we fight later" she asked and Chiyo nodded.
"I'd love to dear" Chiyo said as both Mamushi and Chiyo chuckled.
Sasuke looking at Mamushi talk with the old lady had a vision.
*Sasuke's vision
Sasuke and Mamushi were both old and grey sitting in rocking chairs on a porch.
"Such nice weather" Mamushi said rocking back and forth.
"Hmmm" Sasuke said nodding; just then an Iwa ninja appeared.
"Uchiha; I challenge- "He began until Mamushi faster than the eye can see blurred forward, decapitated him with a sword and sat back down.
"You could at least let him finish his sentance" Sasuke said tired with a sigh "I'll clean him up later" he said as he got up; Sasuke put on a Kippah, grabbed his torah and put on his coat. "Let's go Mamushi; we have Ma'ariv in an hour" Sasuke said.
"Ok dear" Mamushi said as she put her sword into her cane and both walked off the porch and past the dead body.
*Vision end
"Sasuke, are you ok" Kakashi said shaking him.
"Huh; what" Sasuke said confused.
"You've been standing there for 5 minutes staring out into space" Anko said.
"I had a vision" Sasuke said; Sasuke then got a confused look "wait, why was I Jewish" he said making everyone confused.
"Can we get going already" Naruto said and everybody nodded.
"Follow me and try to keep up" Chiyo said as she took off at an incredible speed.
"Damn she can move" Anko said as everyone else began to chase after Chiyo.
Temari, Tayuya and Hinata were looked on as the Konoha team left off in pursuit of Gaara.
"They can do it" Hinata said "I know they can" she said as she held her hands together; Tayuya walked up and put a hand on her shoulder.
"Come on princess" Tayuya said "let's go check on the wounded in the hospital" she said and Hinata nodded; as they turned around Hinata had a thought.
'Naruto, Mamushi and Sasuke are strong; I know they can do it' Hinata thought as sh walked back into the village.
Land of Stone
Sasori and Kakuzu crossed the border to the land of stone; Kakuzu was carrying an unconscious Gaara over his shoulder. As they walked Sasori looked over to Kakuzu and spoke.
"Do you know the way" Sasori asked and Kakuzu nodded.
"Yes, I do" Kakuzu said as they both walked across the barren and rocky terrain "it's a shame you don't know where Deidera's hide out in River country was" he said. "Would've made the trip faster compared coming to my hideout" Kakuzu said and Sasori nodded.
"Lord Pein wanted us to have a hide out in different countries in case we were compromised" Sasori said "mine is in Grass country as a backup" he said and Kakuzu nodded.
"That will be out back up location" Kakuzu said "if we hurry, we could be at the hide out in 8 hours" he said.
"Let's move then" Sasori said; both Kakuzu and Sasori began to run at max speed towards their hideout in order to begin the extraction from Gaara.
