Exhaustion overcame whatever adrenaline was keeping the pair conscious and the pair drifted off to sleep, unfortunately for Emma this didn't last long, she awoke only hours later in a cold sweat. Her dreams filled with images of her suffering family, there agonising screams calling for her help, but she couldn't save them.

Being so restless in her slumber the princess had rolled over, waking up her face in Hooks warm chest and her eyes went wide. Thankfully her sudden gasp as she woke, hadn't startled the captain, who was still in a deep sleep, his expression peaceful. With a desperate need for water, she walked away from the safety of camp, grabbing a piece of wood, and making a torch to guide her.

"I've never felt so lost". Emma said, as the strange green flame lit her path.

Thirsty and cold she staggered back to the stream, at that moment under the stars, she heard her father's voice in her head. Breathe... just breathe, he would say as he kissed her forehead and rocked her back to sleep. He had done it less and less as she grew, as the pressure of her life only increased, but she could still hear his voice, in her memories. Suddenly the sound of footsteps drew closer, and Emma turned to face whoever was sneaking up on her in the darkness. As the princess paused, she was ambushed by a petite woman smiling coyly, holding a knife to her throat.

"Who the hell are you?"

"An ally, if you'll hear me out".

Emma raised her eyebrows in disbelief as this woman threatening her life, offered her assistance.

"You're after the treasure too?"

The women chuckled, clearly amused with the scarce amount of information the young princess had about her and Neverland.

"Consider me a local, I know more about this place then anyone, I usually let the Pirates figure out for themselves there is nothing to be found here but death. Your different, just trying to find your way home, maybe I can help".

"I'm fine thanks, already got me a tour guide".

"Oh, the pirate you think he cares for your safe return".

"I know how to look out for myself"?

"You've seen the look in his eyes when he talks about it, he'd sacrifice you're ride home, to keep the gold in a heartbeat".

"The gold is worthless here though, he'd need to leave Neverland".

"Doesn't seem to me his thought that far ahead".

"Why should I trust you, anymore then him?"

"Aren't you wondering why Hooks crew tied him up and left him for dead".

"They're pirates…they have no honour".

"If you really believe that's all there is to it, you may not be able to help me after all".

The woman stepped back, her expression changed to frustration as she lowered her knife.

"I don't know what game you think this is, I just want to go home, I don't have time to play"?

"If you ever want to make it home, you should listen, I've heard those Pirates bickering, Hook betrayed them, he doesn't have any idea how to leave Neverland… he's been lied to about this place, and worse, he knows it".

"No, he saved my life, why would he do that if…"

The princess looked away for a moment as her hopes had sunk, but this quickly turned to anger, and she clenched her fists. When her eyes glanced back up to the spot the woman was standing, there was no one there. Emma raised her torch moving it around but even in the light there was nothing. With the exhaustion and stress taking over, she became somewhat frantic. Rushing around, letting what little light she had lead her away, getting further and further from the safety of the camp.

"Hey, you can't hide forever"!

Emma looked around but there was no sign of the strange woman, just the sound of rustling in branches above and the glowing eyes of the nocturnal creatures in the trees, glaring at the spectacle.

"Get back here"!

But there was nothing, but endless darkness, the strange women's words sinking in, that there was in fact no way home. Tears began to drip from her eyes and Emma slumped onto the ground in defeat, sitting up against a rockface. Slowly her cries evolved into a sob, the pressure of everything finally breaking her down. The torch she held slipped from her grasp in her distracted state, falling to the ground and quickly rolling down a small decline in the grass, that rapidly caught fire quickly spreading up onto the side of the mountain.

"Oh crap!"

Emma frantically began to stomp out the flames best she could with her feet, knowing that the bright green light would act as a beacon. Leading all creatures and any pirate on the island to their location. The flame illuminated the cliff face, burning away the vines that covered it before the flames went out leaving behind an ominous glow. Making everything clear and Emma gasped, before a wide excited grin appeared on her face, as the adrenaline surged through her body.

"Princess… What"?

Emma turned to see a half asleep bewildered Captain Hook standing behind her, his eyes went wide as he realised what she'd discovered.

"Hook, how did you find me"?

"Well, you started a bloody fire, are you hurt"?

"No but, I think this requires a translation".

His eyes went wide in awe trying to convince himself he wasn't still dreaming, the flames burnt out leaving behind bright glowing green landmarks and sijil's beautifully painted, like a collage on the mountainside telling a story. Only one image was obvious it depicted a large ship filled with gold and jewels, indicating they were on the right path. There was a lot of love put into each aspect of the piece not a single line out of place, the type of work that takes care and time.

"This is it, a clue, this is amazing!"

"You seem surprised, aren't clues like this, exactly what you were expecting?" Emma asked with a frown, starting to doubt the Pirates story.

"Off course, come on we need to move quickly, before the others see the light".

"Right, maybe head back grab some supplies and follow the trail".

Before Emma had even finished that thought Captain Hook had taken her hand leading her back to camp with him but she pulled away. Keeping her distance as they walked back their campsite Captain Hook had noticed this but was unphased, to excited.

"I was wrong about the dark, turns out it's just what we need, to lead us to the treasure".

"We should still be careful, who knows what's out there".

Emma looked out into the darkness shaken from her encounter with the strange women, her eyes still holding back tears. Going from hopelessness to finding their first clue in a moment, gave her whiplash.

"You ok, seem startled… nothing else happened, did it?"

"No, nothing else"

The Captain frowned; his expression disappointed as he walked off towards the campfire in a huff, pouring some water over the last of the embers of their fire. While Emma grabbed a few things putting them in a small satchel she found.

"Here we should take a torch each".

"Clever, we can use the flame to find more clues".

"See us pirates can surprise you". Hook said before walking off back towards to cave.

"I hope so" Emma said under her breath.
