Chapter 1

Eloise Bridgerton stepped off the plane at Dallas International Airport still half asleep. She wore a simple outfit. A pair of comfy jeans, a long warm trench coat over an Obama / Biden 2008 campaign t-shirt and a pair of converse trainers. She carried a vintage brown leather backpack that once been her mother's. She flipped from the top of her head a pair of bug eye Audrey Hepburn style sunglasses to cover her eyes. She had in her hand her British passport and work visa ready for the boarder passport checks.

The queue was not that long, and she was able to get out of the airport in under half an hour. With her small suitcase from the baggage claim and a hot cup of tea from small coffee shop in the airport. The rest of her things had been shipped and had arrived at the Mallard House. Waiting for her was her Godfather Doctor Mallard. He was a Medical Examiner with NCIS.

"Uncle Ducky," waved Eloise at the older man. She ran up to his car and hugged him.

"My dear girl," he hugged her back. "Welcome back," he helped her put her things in his vintage Morgan.

As they drove back the Mallard house Ducky's phone rang.

"Can you get that for me my dear?" Eloise picked up the phone it was an older phone a couple of years old.

"Dr Mallard's phone," Eloise asked. "No sorry he is driving at the moment and cannot answer his phone," She listened. "One moment," she put her hand over the receiver. "Gibbs said he has a body."

"Where?"

"Ducky is asking where?" she listened again. "Norfolk base," she told Ducky.

"Tell him to send over the details and we will meet him there," Eloise nodded and re-laid the message.

"He said he will get McGee to text you why muttering something about bloody phones. He hung up on me," she smiled.

"He does that," Ducky laughed. "It looks like you are starting sooner than tomorrow."

They parked next to the ME's van and other official vehicles. "I just need to change My Dear," Ducky said and then ducked into the ME's van. "I find this in the back of the van and put these on," Ducky appeared wearing a blue coat and beige hat. He held up a pair of shoe covers and a baseball cap with the letters NCIS written on it. Eloise giggled has she put on the shoe covers and the cap. Ducky picked up his medical bag and before lifting the yellow tape up for Eloise to go under.

"What have we got Jethro?" Ducky inquired to Gibbs.

"Two bodies so far Duck," Gibbs drink from his cup of coffee in response. He watched the young woman who Ducky had arrived with.

Eloise looked around at the crime scene.

There are two trees, grass decoloured two recently dug graves shallow. Dug in a rush. No time to really think about. Gibbs is much better looking than Uncle Duck said. There is something missing. Dumping ground. Recently used to dispose of the bodies. Salt and Pepper hair. Eloise, you sound like Daphine stop it and focus. What would Sherlock do? Americans he hates, no dislikes Americans, but I need to work with them now. Uncle likes them, so I can like them.

"The graves are shallow; it means that the killer was in a rush. The decolouration of the grass over there may mean that there is something under. The grass in that patch is slightly greener could be that there was a something organic under. Meaning there is a body buried in the healthy section of grass," Eloise said out loud. The team looked at her in surprise. "Sorry I think out loud sometimes."

"That is fine my dear," Ducky smiled proudly. "Everyone, I would like you to meet my God daughter, Doctor Eloise Bridgerton recently of the British Museum and the Met police. She was meant to start tomorrow but life and this job. She is our new forensic anthropologist," Tony and Gibbs looked at him for more information. For what a forensic anthropologist was. Ziva and McGee smiled at the new girl. Both silently cheering that they were no longer the newbies in the team.

"I study bones and can identify human remains," Eloise waved and continued her look around the crime scene. She noticed that there appeared to be a phalange bone. "Ducky there is another body under there," she pointed at the bone. "I need some gloves?" Gibbs handed her a pair. She picked up the bone that had no flesh and licked it. The team watched her a little grossed out. "Its human and from what I can see is does not belong to the two other victims. I think you might have a dump site. A very public dump site."

Around 2 hours later the team had found a total of five bodies, that included the two fresh victims and three skeletons. Eliose guided the team though the correct process for uncovering skeletal remains.

"All three skeletons so far are female around eighteen to twenty-five just like the other two victims. None of them have been pregnant or given birth. We may be able to find out who they are from facial recognition or by their teeth. One of our victims was in a car accident when they were around 10 years old. The middle victim played a sport with a racket or bat. The last victim was a dancer she has bone markers on her metatarsals can tell us that. The first victim was mixed ancestry and the other two were white," Eloise reported. "But that is a very quick look at the bones. I would need to bring back to check on them in more detail from more information. Sorry."

"Any idea how long all of the victims have been dead?" Gibbs asked.

"I would say a couple of hours for the newest victims I have taken liver temp and should be able to tell from the build-up of potassium in their eyes. The others could be days or weeks Jethro," Ducky answered. "I think that we need to get these poor girls back to autopsy. Mr Palmer, are you going to be ok with all of the bodies."

"Yes Doctor," Jimmy said a little nervous around Eloise, his boss and Gibbs. He quickly started to get

"What do you want us to do boss?" asked Tony for Gibbs.

"Bag and tag. Get soil samples for Abby," Gibbs replied.

"On it boss," Tony went to help Ziva and McGee.

"She's a red head," was all he said as the three watched Gibbs help Eloise off the ground and guided her and Ducky back to the vehicles. They had all noticed how their boss was looking at the young female.

"And she is clever," Ziva smiled. The three tried not to laugh.

"Do you think he will break his rule?" McGee asked the friends all laughed out loud.
