A/N: Thanks so much to mimine666 for sending me this prompt and big thanks to theshadowsedges for getting the gears turning in my head for this prompt.

Romantic?

Sharon was getting in her own head about all of this.

Sure, she was cared for as a boss, friend, and mother.

Romantic though?

Now that was tricky.

She hadn't been in a romantic relationship for years.

She didn't know how to function in one.

She hardly recognized what that looked like anymore.

After all, she and Andy had been "dating" for almost two years now and she hadn't even recognized that that's what they were doing.

Now, they were going on an actual date tonight and her brain was short circuiting a bit now that Andy had grabbed her hand in his and set their joined hands on the console as he drove to Serve.

She didn't know how to do this.

She knew how to be the boss.

She knew how to be a good friend.

She knew how to be a mother and caretaker.

She didn't know what to do with the word or the action of being romantic.

"Sharon, are you okay? You looked a little far away there for a second," said Andy as he gently squeezed Sharon's hand to get her attention as she'd been staring out the window for a couple minutes now.

"Yeah. I'm fine," replied Sharon unconvincingly.

"You've hardly said two words since we got in the car. What's going through that brilliant mind of yours?" asked Andy, genuinely curious.

"If I'm not mistaken, that was three actually," Sharon bantered back at him.

"Sharon, I'm serious. Have I made you uncomfortable in some way?" asked Andy concernedly.

"No. Definitely not. It's not that," replied Sharon.

"What is it then?" asked Andy as he gently squeezed her hand.

"It's just…it's hard to get used to…" Sharon trailed off vaguely.

"What is?" Andy asked her.

"Being someone that someone cares for," confessed Sharon.

"I'm sure you've got plenty of people in your life who care about you, myself included," Andy told her as he squeezed her hand comfortingly.

"Yeah, but it's not like this," Sharon told him, pointing to their joined hands.

"What? Romantic?" asked Andy, searching for answers.

"Yeah. You're the only one I dance with and hold hands over the console with and tell just about everything to," Sharon told him.

"Really?" asked Andy.

"Yeah," replied Sharon as she smiled weakly at Andy.

"So, you're having trouble adjusting?" asked Andy.

"Yes," replied Sharon.

"We can take this as slow as you'd like, Sharon. Give you time to acclimate to the change," Andy told her earnestly.

"That wouldn't be fair to you though," Sharon pointed out.

"What did I tell you a year ago in your office?" asked Andy.

"I'll wait. In case you need me," replied Sharon.

"I meant that. I'll wait as long as it takes for you to get used to this. If it wasn't already apparent, I'm in this for the long haul, Sharon," said Andy.

"Really?" asked Sharon.

"Yeah," replied Andy as he stopped his car at a stoplight and turned his gaze to Sharon and smiled as he said it.

Sharon smiled right back at him.

Maybe this whole romantic thing between them wouldn't be as tricky as she'd once thought.
