Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I do not own any rights to Fairy Tale, Hiro Mashima, Kodansha and a few others that I may write about.

Conor downed another mug and slammed it down on the counter. He wiped off his lips and looked around.

He had been drinking away his sorrows since his team had been killed in combat. It made him sigh and continue to down more drinks in an effort to numb his head. He normally wouldn't be doing this… But since he wanted the pain and wanted to dull his senses? Conor forgave himself for not caring when it came down to it.

Conor slammed his head down on the counter while he rubbed at his temples. Conor sighed and looked through his narrowed eyes around the run-down bar. He almost wondered what had caused his group leader to accept something so crazy and risky.

It wasn't because of money. His leader… His former leader, had been very smart with the money they earned and had kept a large sum of it. Perhaps it was glory, their group had been trying to make a name for themselves… Something that would never be solved now that their leader was a corpse. Conor didn't even see the animal that had done it. He was too busy trying to carry one member of the group to safety. The man ended up bleeding out anyway which made him just ticked off.

Conor had a hunch this was a trap to kill him and his group off, but he had little in the way of proof. The beast they had been sent to kill or capture… He no longer cared at the moment for whatever had drawn him into this stupid mission.

Conor watched one of the mugs crash to the ground. He didn't notice it till he noticed that the mug was no longer present. He sighed and began to rub at his eyes as he paid and began to leave.

Conor knew someone would most likely try to rob him when he exited. He didn't much concern himself with that. If the traveling warrior didn't want to be robbed? He wouldn't be, it wasn't like they could really do something to stop him to begin with. Conor rubbed at his temples and sighed.

He walked like a bear, hunched over and sluggishly. He was tired and curious as to what would take him down and finish him off. Maybe he'd be skewed on the end of someone's sword or mauled by a wild animal. His team was gone, he had nobody to go to so there was little reason for him to care about what happened to his own health.

He sighed as he slowly slid down to the ground. He looked to the side and shook his head once more.

"Why would he… Accept that job?" Conor questioned to himself while rubbing at his temples. "What made him think that was a good idea to begin with?" Conor questioned as he looked to the side.

Conor could be far more curious what would happen next. someone clearly wanted him dead to have sent such a tragedy crashing down upon him. He wondered if one of his teammates had wronged a guild or made a powerful enemy. It wasn't like his friends hadn't made some stupid choices to begin with. They had gotten themselves killed trying to capture an animal while he simply decided to try and save who he could.

No, of course not. If someone wanted his group wiped out by a monster? They would have tried to do so in a more personal manner, savoring the deaths of each person they sent to the depths. It annoyed him more then anything that he couldn't at least know who had ordered the destruction of his group. At least because it would have allowed him some small form of redemption when it came back to it. He'd deal with that when it came time to deal with it, however.

Conor sighed and looked to the side before he sighed and hummed towards the sky where the stars were starting to align, he was curious about what happened next when it came down to it.

He slowly passed out, tired and exhausted about the certain things.

He rolled his eyes and sighed with annoyance.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter! I want to point out that I will make the next chapter soon. Next chapter will be in 2-12 weeks and will show Cana and Conor meeting Cana and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
